It is not clear that Iran (its longtime enemy) has the ability to gather the expected ferocious response in the face of Israel’s widespread strike on Friday.

Israel has once again demonstrated that it is the power of military and intelligence intelligence in the Middle East, and is indifferent to the diplomatic impacts of civilian casualties and their actions.

Hurrying to build nuclear weapons is not only because there is fire, but your main leadership is at risk of strikes. Netanyahu may have calculated that the risk of Iran’s nuclear breakout would be exhausted and that it would be easier to manage with more military forces.

There is another victim of the one night barrage. The Trump administration has held its position as a geopolitical force.

There may be suggestions from Trump’s defenders in the previous hours that Israeli attacks are part of a broader masterplan to weaken Iran ahead of more diplomacy. But in reality, a simpler truth is revealed. Israel had no trust in the US to carry out a deal with Iran, which would remove its nuclear ambitions.

Despite US President Donald Trump suing to refrain from doing so, Israel has made its most important attacks on Iran since the war with Iraq in the 1980s. Israel does not care or fear Trump’s response, and apparently appears ready to risk fighting without US support.

That is probably another charge of Iran’s ability to respond now. Israel is not too bothered by how it can be done. Israel’s operation against Hezbollah provides a reason for its confidence (but should stir up anxiety about hub arrogance and excess). It is likely that Israel has already hit most of its major targets to maximize its surprising benefits, and the extent of its losses will take several days to become clear.

But we are now in a binary moment when a strike at Natantz facility might mark its end or a race to complete it in the form of a nuclear weapon. Iran has always argued that the nuclear program is peaceful, but UN nuclear watchdogs on Thursday declared it in violation of its non-proliferation obligations and urged Tehran to pledge escalation action.

At the moment of greatest weakness, the Islamic Republic struggles to project the sw course of the region that it has maintained for decades. You may feel that you cannot escape diplomacy without appearing even more weak. It appears that Israel cannot be hit proportionally, so if possible it may seem to attack asymmetrically.

In the immediate confusion, one basic fact is clear. Israel is now acting in the Middle East, which is not afraid of wider risks and sometimes cruelly, seeking to change the dynamics of the region over the next decades.

Pope Leo XIV announced that the canonization of Carlo Akotis, the first Millennial saint of the Catholic Church, will take place on September 7th.

Actis, an Italian teenager who died of leukemia in 2006, is declared saint by Leo at a ceremony at St. Peters Square, where thousands of young people are expected to be present.

Acutis was only 15 years old when he died, but during his short life he used his computing skills to spread awareness of the Catholic faith by setting up a website that documented reports of miracles.

The Vatican said on Friday after a meeting with the Cardinals that Pope Leo would make Acquitis a canone in September.

The September 7th ceremony will be the first canoeing event, presided over by Pope Leo, the first American crown prince.

Called the God influencer, Aktis developed a strong supporter among young Catholics and beyond. The British-born Italian teenager who loved video games is often portrayed in jeans and a sweatshirt, making him a related figure to a new generation of Catholics.

Yesterday at Ahmedabad airport, Sangheta Gauswami stuck to her one child. She saw her 19-year-old son from her home in West India in Gujarat and was proud to begin a new chapter at a university in London.

Now, less than 24 hours later, she sits in the same clothes she had worn for the breakup, frozen in shock and sadness.

Her son, Sunket, was one of 242 people on the Air India Flight AI171, and jumped out of the air shortly after takeoff.

Three officials from India’s National Disaster Response Force told CNN that flight recorders from the fateful flights were deployed on Friday.

Boeing’s Dreamliner crashed into a medical college hostel, killing passengers, crews and people on the ground, bringing death casualties to at least 290 people, one of India’s most deadly plane crash drops in decades.

For hours, Gauswami stuck to the faint hope that Sankett had somehow brought it to life. But by Thursday night, Hope had given way to heartbreak as he faced something unimaginable.

“We had no news,” she choked and sat with her sister. “We keep asking, but no one has anything to say to us.”

DNA samples have been collected from over 190 relatives at Ahmedabad Municipal Hospital and have been verified against recovery agencies from the scene of the collision. This is a painful process that can take up to 72 hours, according to the official Hashitgosabi of the state that oversees the business.

Grief fills the hospital corridors as the family is working on losing a loved one. At one horn, the cry of an elderly woman pierced the quiet sobs of another.

The sadness on Friday is in stark contrast to the confusion a day ago when relatives rushed to the hospital in hopes of their loved one alive.

Manisha Thapa’s family sat smashed after learning of the plane crash and rushed from their home in the eastern city of Patna on their first flight. I know very well that the 27-year-old is in the crew of a cabin in flight.

“I was talking to her a day ago,” her mother says.

“We talk every day. She lets us know that we can’t speak because she’s on a long flight.”

Manisha’s father has not stopped crying since giving her DNA samples on Friday morning.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Ahmedabad on Friday to inspect the crash site and meet the only survivor of the British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh.

Ramesh’s story is welcomed as nothing more than a miracle. The video of him walking in a bloody shirt to help crash the victim, as well as lying in the hospital with some cuts and bruises, has been widely streaming on social media.

“At first I thought I was going to die…I realized I was still alive and looked at the opening near my seat. I was able to unleash my buckle.

“Everyone around me was dead or almost dying. I still don’t understand how I live.”

The agency’s immediate focus will be on checking the number of victims and providing support to the victim’s family, but attention will soon be the cause of the crash.

The US National Road Safety Commission said it will lead a team heading to India to help investigate local government conflicts. The British Air Accident Investigation Division officially provided assistance to Indian authorities after the crash.

Chief of Secret Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami was one of Iran’s most powerful men, overseeing the most powerful military divisions and reporting directly to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

On Friday he was killed in an Israeli lion strike that targeted Iran’s nuclear program and senior military leaders in attacks. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it will last for days.

Iranian state media reported that Salami was killed in a strike at the IRGC headquarters in Tehran. His death, along with other ranking members of Iranian military, could hamper Iran’s response to the attack, analysts say.

“Undoubtedly, Major General Salami was one of the most prominent commanders of the Islamic Revolution. It exists in all aspects of scientific, cultural, security and military jihad,” the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement on Friday.

“In every arena, he was on the forefront with a spirit of integrity, wisdom and dedication to the Supreme Leader, defending the revolution and the ideals of the Iranian people,” the statement added.

CNN security analyst Beth Sanner said removing salami is similar to taking out the chairman of the co-chief of staff. “I can imagine what Americans do,” she said.

According to US sanctions equipment born in 1960, Salami has been leading the secret IRGC since 2019.

In this position, I saw him command one of the most powerful tools equipped by the Iranian state. The Iranian state has helped to challenge it at home and project Iran’s power overseas.

The IRGC boasts its own intelligence communications agency, cyber operations unit, the Navy, Air Force and analysts. Analysts estimate that there will be a unit of up to 200,000 people under its command. He also oversaw Iran’s ballistic missile development, and Salami called for development during his tenure.

In 2019, he said for the IRGC ballistic missiles were “a way to end the airline story of American aircraft.”

Analysts say the IRGC funds and supports a vast network of militias across the region that it uses to attack the US and other military personnel in the Middle East.

The IRGC is also expected to provide material and support to Yemen’s Houtsis, allowing the group to attack international shipping in the Red Sea and launch missiles and drones in Israel.

Salami took the helm of the IRGC when Iran launched hundreds of drones and missiles in Israel on Israel’s first direct strike on Israeli territory.

Footage released by Iranian state media in January saw Salami inspect the media saying it was an underground military facility that played a role in these attacks.

Wearing green uniforms and short beards, Salami was salute by soldiers in a spongy underground complex and walked over the US and Israeli flags on the ground.

The site was currently building “new special missiles.”

Brett McGurk, CNN Global Affairs analyst who served as Middle East coordinator at the Biden White House, said Iran’s response to the Israeli attack could be retreated by Salami’s death and other top military leaders.

In a statement confirming Salami’s death, the IRGC said its command structure and other branches of the military are “fully prepared to provide a decisive and strict response.”

Salami was in the head when the IRGC fired down a Ukrainian passenger jet shortly after taking off from Tehran’s international airport, killing all 176 people on board.

According to Iran’s Mehr News Outlet, the unknown IRGC commander of the TOR M1 surface-to-air missile defense system, who fired down the plane, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.

Salami apologised for unintentionally shooting a Ukrainian plane down and asked for forgiveness.

Not only is the most powerful military institution in Iran, the IRGC has a profound impact on domestic politics and economy, expanding profits from construction, communications, automobiles and energy industries.

In 2022, Salami warned Iranian youth to stop protesting in large-scale protests that last weeks after 22-year-old Mahsa Amini’s death after he died after being detained by the “moral police,” allegedly failing to comply with the country’s conservative dress code.

“Today is the last day of the riot. Please don’t come again on the streets. What do you want in this country?” Salami said.
