Armored Tanks arrive in DC for Trump’s military birthday parade
Armored tanks have begun arriving ahead of Saturday’s celebrations as Washington, DC prepares for the 250th anniversary of the US Army.
WASHINGTON – Celebrating Saturday’s Army’s $40 million parade 250th The anniversary is a generational opportunity to showcase service, Secretary of War Dan Driscoll told USA Today.
Does that mean that he also falls into President Donald Trump’s birthday and he will preside over the tanks and troops marching on him from a specially built review stand? Simply by chance.
“Unless it’s 170 years ago when a soldier somehow set the date,” Dorisco said in an interview on June 12th.
Driscoll spoke about the parade and who is expected to be present (almost certainly expanded to former senior officials Mark Esper and Mark Milley who clashed with Trump), he said. Driscoll also worked on the deployment of National Guard forces in Los Angeles on the opposition from California Gov. Gavin Newsom and the number one threat to his soldiers, the cheap, deadly drone threat.
Army’s 250 Plansth His birthday began on February 25th before Driscoll became the Army civilian leader, he said. The military parade, a long-standing tradition of the military, was seen as a natural way to emphasize the strength and service of the Army to the United States.
“I think sometimes the media gets its own way when telling stories,” Drisco said. “I think the chance that the President’s birthday was this date 250 years ago and that we, the Army, want to tell this story, will back me up.
“This is not intended for performance. We sincerely believe this is an opportunity at one time.”
DC’s armored vehicles from armored vehicles, including a parade that includes a 38-ton Abram stank, range between $25 million and $40 million.
Democrats have criticized the incident as a waste of money to promote Trump’s image.
“This is Trump, it’s about making everything about his ego and him,” Sen. Jack Reed, a top Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said on May 14.
He said the parade that aired would reach a wide American audience and would drive and serve some of them.
“We are excited about this and believe that so many Americans will tune it,” Driscoll said. “And that will quantitatively fill our recruitment pipeline for the next few years. We think it’s definitely worth investing.”
Driscoll said he almost certainly believes Esper and Milley were invited to attend the parade. Millie and the Army, a spokesman for the White House, have not confirmed that.
Esper was fired after Secretary of Army Trump was promoted to Secretary of Defense and lost the election in November 2020. Esper suffered Trump’s rage for urging protesters to restrain the deployment of troops. Retired Army General, its Chief of Staff and Joint Chief of Staff Millai has lost his favor after law enforcement officials forced cleared racial justice protesters from Lafayette Square near the White House, and then apologized for showing up in his uniform near Trump.
The parade features dozens of armored combat vehicles, helicopters, vintage fighter jets, thousands of soldiers dressed in uniforms from the Revolutionary War to the present, horses, two mules and dogs.

The procession will highlight “the robustness and incredible talent of our soldiers,” Drisco said. He wants Americans to “feel proud and honor” when they see the parade.
“This is their army,” he said.
In 2017, during his first term, Trump wanted to host a military parade, but he realized that Pentagon officials appeared to politicize the military. Then Defense Sec. Jim Mattis said he “swallows acid rather,” according to “Hold the Line,” a book by his former speechwriter Snodgrass.
That army is engaged in Trump’s orders through the National Guard to help protect federal buildings and Los Angeles, as well as immigration and customs enforcement officers.
The deployment of thousands of National Guards into Los Angeles was justified and approved by voters who elected Trump. Trump is doing exactly what he said during the campaign, Drisco said.
“Our system was designed precisely for these moments,” Driscoll said. “It was just this kind of moment that’s why we have a presidential election, and why so many Americans turned out to support President Donald J. Trump.
National Guard soldiers deployed in Los Angeles are talented, well trained and “excited” to be there, Drisco said.
The Department of Homeland Security is calling for more than 20,000 additional National Guard troops from the Pentagon to support law enforcement in the suspension of entry.

Driscoll said that although he has not been explained on request, the Army is ready to operate within US boundaries in a legally appropriate manner.
“If the President consults with other administrative leaders and feels that it is our best use of the National Guard, the Army is supporting it to support it,” Drisco said.
Increased risk from drone warfare
On another issue, Dorisco talked about what he considers a deadly threat to his soldiers. Cheap and weaponized drones became weapons of choice in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Driscoll hopes the Army will lead the Pentagon’s efforts to counter the drones.
“That’s the best thing we talk about every day,” Drisco said.
Ukraine surprised Russia with its drone attacks on strategic fighter planes.
“It should send fear into the hearts of the military around the world,” Drisco said. “A solution that was tens of thousands of dollars and was rather skilled over six months, pulling out billions of dollars of equipment with little signing. The threat is realistic, and that threat is something that every country faces.”
Is the Pentagon more prepared than Russia for such an attack?
“I don’t know,” Drisco said. “I hope so.”
