A planned “humanitarian city” within Gaza, intended to hold hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, will become a “concentration camp,” former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmaat warned.
Israeli Defense Minister Katz said last week he told the military to proceed with plans for the zone. The area was built on the abandoned in Rafa city in southern Gaza, and once the Palestinians enter the zone they are not allowed to leave. Katz also vowed to implement a plan for Palestinian immigration from Gaza.
“This is a concentration camp. I’m sorry,” Olmart told the Guardian on Sunday. “If they (Palestinians) are deported to a new “humanitarian city,” this can be said to be part of the ethnic cleansing. ”
In response to Olmart’s comments, the Prime Minister’s Office called him “a felon convicted of shame on Israel on CNN.” In a statement, the office said: “We’re evacuating civilians. Hamas blocks them. Does he call it a war crime?” Ormart was released from prison in 2017 after serving 16 months on corruption charges.
Olmat has previously condemned the Israeli military’s actions in Gaza and the country’s political leaders. In May, he said he could no longer protect Israel from charges of war crimes. “What if it’s not a war crime?” he asked rhetorically in an interview with CNN. He said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his far-right members of his government are “being committed in any other way that cannot be interpreted.”
More than 58,000 people have been killed in Gaza since the start of the war, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The latest comment from Ormert, who served as Israel’s prime minister from 2006 to 2009, goes further ahead to criticizing the country’s intentions in Gaza, particularly as comparisons to Israel’s Nazi concentration camps are considered virtually unconceivable. But Olmart said it was an “inevitable interpretation” of the plan.
“When they build camps that “clean” more than half of Gaza, the inevitable understanding of this strategy is not to save the Palestinians.
Katz’s plan for what he called a “humanitarian city” was discussed in a meeting with Netanyahu on Sunday evening, according to sources familiar with the issue. But after Israeli press reported that it would take months to build the zone and billions of dollars, sources said Netanyahu had called for the facility to be shorter and cheaper.
Yair Lapid, Israel’s head of opposition, has accused the plan of Netanyahu’s far-right government partners of “running in extreme fantasies just to maintain his coalition.” In a statement on social media, Rapid was called “end the war and take hostages back.”
Israeli human rights lawyer Michael Sphard told CNN last week that Katz’s plan would amount to forced demobilization in preparation for deportation. Both of these are war crimes, Sphard said.
“If they were committed across a large community, they could become a crime against humanity,” Sphard added, dismissing the notion that deviations from Gaza could be considered voluntary.
While President Trump said he was considering raising blanket tariffs for most trading partners, he threatened Canada with a 35% tariff.
U.S. stocks are quietly and almost low after President Donald Trump escalates trade tensions further.
Over the weekend, Trump announced 30% tariffs on goods from the European Union and Mexico starting on August 1st. Mexican and EU leaders said they would continue negotiations this month earlier.
According to people familiar with the issue, the EU is currently preparing to strengthen its involvement with other countries hit by Trump’s tariffs. Other reports say the EU has not reached the transaction and is considering retaliatory tariffs against the US if US taxes are enacted.
Still, market responses have been significantly suppressed, not even close to the huge swing in April when Trump first announced his tariff plans. “We stopped speculating about whether there is a long-term strategy,” says Karsten Bruzesky, global head of macros at the Bank of Netherlands. “We know that financial markets seem paralyzed, but at the same time we know that tariff threats are still real.”
At 9:31am ET, the Blue Chip Dow slipped 0.26% (116.9 points) to 44,254.61. The Broad S&P 500 reduced its 0.14% (8.61 points) to 6,251.14. And the high-tech Nasdaq swayed between red and green, but lastly at 20,588.54 to 0.02% (3.01 points). The benchmark 10-year yield fell to 4.419%.
Bitcoin Price
But Bitcoin continues to gather to hit highs. The digital unit jumped over $121,000 on July 14th, ahead of the launch of “Crypto Week.” Lawmakers will discuss three important bills aimed at providing a clear regulatory framework for digital assets, Stablecoins and Blockchain Technologies. Bitcoin last increased by 2.29% to $121,567.50.
Later this week, investors will get to adjust other inflation data for signs that Trump’s tariffs are affecting consumer prices and the economy. So far, the impact of tariff inflation has been curtailed.
Feeding the Chief under a Fire
Investors should also challenge Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
On Sunday, National Economic Council director Kevin Hassett said Trump could fire Chairman Jerome Powell “if there is a cause.”
Management and Budget Director Russell Vault said Powell “mismanically mismanaged the Fed” and suggested that he misunderstood the Congress about the expensive and exaggerated renovation of the central bank’s headquarters. He swears to this by using a probe.
Trump said over the weekend that if Powell resigned, it would be a “good thing.”
Corporate News

“I am extremely disappointed in President Putin,” Trump said on July 13th. “I thought he was someone who meant what he said.”
Trump tears Putin, Russian leaders say “kill many people”
President Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with Russian President Putin after his leadership failed to seal the peace deal with Ukraine.
President Donald Trump denounced Vladimir Putin ahead of his meeting with the NATO Secretary-General, and again complained that he didn’t want Russian leaders to escalate in Ukraine.
“I’m extremely disappointed in President Putin,” Trump said on July 13 at Andrews’ joint base. “I thought he was someone who meant what he said. And he spoke so beautifully, and he’ll bomb people at night. We don’t like it.”
more: Trump said he would end the Ukrainian war in 24 hours. Now his patience with Putin is weak.
Trump’s increasingly harsh rhetoric against Putin moves to boost US military support for Ukraine, telling reporters on July 13 that he will send patriot air defense missiles to war-torn countries invaded by Russia in 2022.
Trump said the European Union will refund the missiles to the United States.
Ukrainian President Voldimir Zelenki is pressing Trump to enable his country to purchase patriot missile air defense systems from the United States as Russia strengthens missile and drone attacks. Shipping of previously approved missile systems was suspended by the Pentagon Review of US military stockpiles and resumed last week by Trump.
While speaking to reporters after returning from a FIFA Club World Cup match in New Jersey, Trump said the US would send Ukraine “sophisticated military” equipment. The plan was expected to be part of an oval office discussion at the White House with NATO Executive Director Mark Latte.
Trump’s friendly approach to Putin – he called him “very kind” last month – is increasingly criticized as Russia continues to fire Ukrainian cities heavily despite Russia’s efforts to reach a ceasefire.
With President Putin moving forward with war efforts, Trump is moving to support Ukraine with weapons, and Congress is considering legislation to increase sanctions against Russia.
Chelsea Captain Reacts to Donald Trump to introduce the Club World Cup Trophy
After winning the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, Chelsea FC captain Reese James told the media he was surprised that President Donald Trump stayed on stage after he announced the trophy.
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Chelsea star Cole Palmer was like many in the world wondering why President Donald Trump is standing in the middle of a trophy celebration after winning the FIFA Club World Cup.
“Wait, wait, what is he doing?” Palmer told Chelsea captain Reese James before performing when the conventional celebrity soccer club celebrates the main title.
“Are you going to leave?” James asked Trump before he raised the golden gray trophy. Trump smiled and applauded among Chelsea players before FIFA President Gianni Infantino eventually pulled him apart.
“I knew he was there, but I didn’t know he was in the stands lifting the trophy.
James added: “He was planning on leaving the stage, but he wanted to stay.”
Leave it to Trump to deliver this bewildered, nagging moment in the US this summer, a lasting image of this competitive, but controversial Club World Cup.
The Club World Cup shows that the United States can become a country of football, but what Trump doesn’t realize is how far away the country’s football is between sports viewers compared to the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL.
The World Cup will continue to be key faces outside of some players, such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, next summer, from June 11th to July 19th, 2026 (if they both play).
Trump was booed loudly multiple times by 81,118 fans at MetLife Stadium. It was when he first appeared on Jumbotron next to the Infantino in the Suite and walked the field for the post-match festival.
“It was a bit upsetting, you’re going to say,” Trump told reporters on the tarmac after the game. “But it was a great, great match, very well played and an incredible crowd.”
Infantino believes that in order to run large tournaments such as the Club World Cup and the World Cup, a budding relationship with Trump is necessary.
FIFA is expected to have 6.5 million people attending World Cup matches next year, but it estimates that the ongoing immigration issues and customs raids leave an unattractive impression on many who want to represent the country.
From a sporting perspective, FIFA still has a lot to do to ensure a positive experience for the players and clubs participating in the World Cup.
Before Trump’s poor football etiquette stole the show, the Club World Cup tale was a photo of empty seats in an NFL-sized stadium, how players dealt with playing in high temperatures during the peak of summer heat, and how the tournament overloaded the players’ packed schedules.
Nearly 2.5 million fans participated in the Club World Cup match, Infantino said before the final.
More importantly, the Club World Cup reached its peak in a final that offered unexpected things.
According to BetMGM, Chelsea shocked PSG with three goals in the first 42 minutes.
Palmer is already a common name in the UK and Europe. However, this breakout performance in this club World Cup final has informed the rest of the world, including the United States, with a gentle managed and soft star star, accompanied by the sport’s coldest goal celebrations.
“Obviously, it’s a great feeling. It’s even better because everyone doubted us before the game,” he said after folding his arms and rubbing his biceps, creating a light that matches his name, and saying his game is ice cold.
This was supposed to be the opposite.
Heading into the final, PSG was praised for being the best team in the world. The Parisians won every trophy in dominant ways earlier this year.
Many believed that wearing waltz at the venue, they would hold back the historic season by putting on a different clinical performance, just as they did when they defeated Lionel Messi and Inter Miami 4-0 in the Club World Cup and dominated Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-finals.
Instead, Palmer and Chelsea held a show alongside football fans from Trophy Celebration.
At least Trump will take a year to figure out how he will put this moment on top.

The current law, the so-called “one big beautiful bill,” is nearly 900 pages long and is full of provisions that can boost the finances of everyday Americans. But who has time to read it all?
Below are some of the bill’s tax and expenditure highlights:
Childcare credits are coming
Sarah Foster, 35, quit her job in the summer of 2024 after the stress of raising a child and working full-time. She said she is constantly engaging in a parenting plan.
Foster’s husband is a doctor, and she describes her family as middle-to-upper class. Still, she was concerned about her ability to cover childcare for her two children without double income.
Several changes to the new tax and expenditure laws are aimed at parents such as Foster. They include the biggest increases to generational childcare tax programs.
Candidate for NYC Mayor: Tax the Rich
In her failed 2024 presidential election, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris pledged to maintain the majority of Donald Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, with at least one notable exception. She would have raised taxes on the wealthiest Americans.
Now, the Democratic candidate for New York City mayor is floating around similar proposals. Among other plans, Zohran Mamdani wants to raise the income tax of the wealthiest New Yorkers by 2%.
Taxing the rich to make money has worked before. Will it work now?

National Park Wildfires destroy the historic Grand Canyon Lodge
North Rim’s historic Grand Canyon Lodge was destroyed by Dragon Bravo Fire. Authorities say they consumed between 50 and 80 structures.
Arizona firefighters worked Monday to contain the fast-moving wildfires that destroyed the historic lodge at Grand Canyon National Park, close parts of the park for the remainder of the season, and ask for federal authorities to investigate wildfire response.
Two wildfires burning in or near the park’s North Rim include the White Sage Fire and the Dragon Bravo Fire. As of July 13th, the flame has consumed approximately 45,000 acres of land.
Park officials say Dragon Bravo Fire, which burned 5,000 acres within the park, has destroyed Grand Canyon Lodge, the only hotel in North Rim’s national park. Authorities, including management buildings in the park, visitor facilities and other historic cabins, said 50 to 80 structures were lost in the fire.
Lightning ignited the fire this month, combining strong winds, low humidity and burning daily temperatures led to rapid expansion.
Here’s what we know about wildfires:
White Sage Fire Causing Closure Near Arizona
North of the Grand Canyon, the White Sage fire was first reported on July 9th, growing steadily, evacuating vast areas from the Kaibab Plateau to the Utah Arizona Line and the North Rim.
As of July 13, the wildfires had destroyed 40,186 acres of land and remained 0% contained, according to federal wildfire tracker Inciweb. No injuries or damaged structures have been reported.
Firefighters said they made significant progress over the weekend. Containment lines near the White Sage community were held as firefighters suppressed growth at the southern tip of the fire, according to Inciweb.
But to the north, the fires are experiencing rapid growth, particularly in the footsteps of the 2020 wildfires that temporarily closed North Rim, officials said.
“The hot, dry, windy conditions continue to challenge firefighting,” Inciweb said.
Dragon Bravo Fire: How it started and destroyed North Rim
The Dragon Bravo fire was fired on July 4th by lightning. Initially, firefighters tried to manage the flames by setting containment lines and stopping their growth.
However, over the weekend, strong winds of up to 40 mph burned, causing the fire to expand 500 acres overnight, engulfing dozens of structures, including the area’s historic cabins. The possibility of chlorine leaks also affected water treatment facilities that led officials to evacuate firefighters and stop airborne operations.
No injuries or deaths were reported as staff and hikers evacuated from the North Rim area before the size of the flame exploded.
Park officials said North Rim will remain closed for the remainder of the season, which runs from May 15th to October 15th. Visitors to the more popular South Rims, which are open all year round, are advised to stay up to date with possible air quality alerts.
“The fires are managed with an aggressive, complete control strategy,” the National Park Service said, adding that “fire behavior is still very active.”
Grand Canyon Lodge was destroyed by wildfires
Grand Canyon Lodge sat at the edge of the canyon, allowing guests to enjoy panoramic views.
According to Park Service, the lodge was found in September 1937 when the original building burned to the ground in wildfires and wildfires.
The lodge building was made of limestone facades fed nearby, and the giant Ponderosa pine trees were transformed into beams to hold a sloping roof that could support large amounts of snow.
“We are being destroyed by the loss of Grand Canyon Lodge and historic buildings in North Rim,” read the National Park Service statement.
Rep. Greg Stanton of D-Ariz said on social media that the destruction of the lodge was “heartbreaking news for everyone who loves Arizona and this special place.”
Arizona Governor calls for an investigation into federal wildfire response
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs questioned the federal government’s handling of the Dragon Bravo Fire, which destroyed numerous structures on the northern edge of the Grand Canyon, including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge.
Hobbs said in a post on X that after a lightning fire, the federal government “chosen to manage that fire as a controlled burn in the driest and hottest part of Arizona’s summer.”
“I am asking the federal government for a comprehensive and independent investigation into fire management and a report detailing the decision that led to this devastating outcome,” she wrote.
“As someone born and raised in Arizona, I know what Grand Canyon National Park means to many people not only in Arizona, but also to many around the world, and how devastating it is to see this damage done to one of Arizona’s most precious landmarks.”
Krypto the Superdog may steal the show with a new “Superman” movie, but it’s a dog named Superman who steals the hearts of animal lovers around the country. And Texas rescue workers hope that his story will help save more pets in dire circumstances.
Floods in central Texas have left miles and miles of destruction, killing more than 120 people, and as of Thursday at least 160 are still missing. It took several hours of rain in Kerr County, about 100 miles from Austin. Some residents fled with their pets, but many didn’t have enough time to grab the animal when they escaped.
Photos posted on Austinpet are alive! The Facebook page shows Superman as if rescuers found him. A muscular, light brown dog wearing a collar, sitting between twisted metal and broken wooden beams, patiently waiting for his family to return.
His legs hang from the side of the broken beam, with a strange angled metal wall behind him. His floppy ears appear to be attracting attention, and his head lifts up as his nose smells the air. His big brown eyes stare directly at the camera.
Dr. Ellen Jefferson, CEO and president of Austin Pet Alive, a nonprofit shelter that works to save the lives of homeless pets, said he is working with rescue groups on the ground to work with around 1,000 volunteers, including veterinarians trying to save and care for the remaining pets.
Austin Pet Alive! They also moved hundreds of animals from local shelters to create rooms for those who came from the flood. Rescuers prefer to keep those cats and dogs close by and make it easier for them to reunite with their family when they return to the area.
Jefferson’s group has carried out several disasters in Texas, which she said is particularly tough. The water flowed so quickly that if the animals fell into the river they probably died or were far away, even the miles downhill.
The way that everyone survived an animal or human flood is amazing, she said. The destruction of the entire region is “incredible… just a few days ago it’s a strong house tile rub.”
They don’t have all the details about what happened to a dog called Superman, Jefferson said. But they like to call animals, a mixture of many breeds, so we know that the Texas Brown dog had gone through a lot by the time rescuers reached him on Sunday.
“He was part of the family and as the water rose, he was trying to save his family,” Jefferson said. “From what we understand, the owner pulled him out of the water to save him, but sadly, his owner died.”
The emergency workers were able to drive the rest of the family out, but the dog appears to have been left in place. The rescuer found him on a pile of debris, which was his home.
“The dog was there by itself. There was no one else at the time,” Jefferson said. “All people were evacuated.”
For days, hundreds of volunteers stayed still in the area for lost pets, but they found many. Some have been injured and are being looked after at the mobile veterinary clinic installed at the scene.
Many others survived unharmed. Jefferson said that all the structures were torn apart at one trailer park, but several cats ran along when rescuers arrived.
“It’s just shocking. I don’t even know how. Cats are truly amazing animals,” she said. They hope that those cats will be reunited with people quickly before the shrapnel becomes bulldozers.
Superman wasn’t running like a cat, Jefferson said. The rescuer photographed the crew he was trying to save him and reported that he was scared and scared of the territory.
A local rescue group called Jefferson’s organization and sent members of the action team to work with Superman.
“I think even the original searcher could have ended up sweetening him, and we were able to start moving him,” she said.
The photo shows Superman trusting his team and he carefully walked in chains and proudly rode the Bright Carville Pet rescuer in a car adjacent to the living rescuer! Austin Pet Alive! shirt.
After the vet gave Superman a clean health deliberation, he headed to the temporary foster home.
Jefferson said the workers spoke to Superman’s family. But as often as in disasters, they lost everything.
“We know they love him and he’s part of the family. He’s one of the things they’re connecting them with the people they’ve lost,” she said. “That human-animal bond is very important for that very reason.”
Superman can stay with foster parents as long as they need it, Jefferson said, like any other animal in the same situation. In the meantime, his story was a heroic task. It raised awareness of the light letters of pets and their loved ones, and everything got caught up in a life-changing disaster.
When Austinpet is alive! He posted photos on his Facebook page, and numerous media outlets shared Superman’s story. They and the Carvillepet are alive! We are collecting donations to support our rescue efforts.
“It’s certainly true that helping these animals is a real group effort,” Jefferson said. “Vets, volunteers, we’re going amazingly crazy, roll up our sleeves, take out duct tape when needed, and have an entire group that saves lives with a lot of money.”
Superman is a good dog, she says. Especially for what he endured and what he is doing now to raise awareness about post-disaster recovery.
“He was clearly loved,” Jefferson said. “He’s definitely a good, good boy with a perfectly appropriate name.”
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa placed Police Minister Seno Muchunu on an immediate leave Sunday following accusations that police officers had conspired with the detective syndicate and interfered in a famous investigation.
Mchunu denied the allegations by Kwazulu-Natal provincial police chief Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi at a media briefing last Sunday. He said the charges were unfounded and in a statement issued last week by his spokesman, he had pledged to support the rule of law.
Building on the promise that a rise to the highest office will fight corruption, Ramaphosa is under pressure to act quickly as allegations have been said to raise political parties and citizens question the integrity of the criminal justice system.
For many years, investors have expressed concern about ramp-prolonged crimes. The World Bank estimates an estimated 10% of gross domestic product, where South Africa’s costs are estimated annually.
“These allegations therefore call for urgent and comprehensive investigation,” Ramaphosa said in a public speech given by public broadcasters and private television stations, adding that a Judicial Committee would be established for this purpose.
Ramaphosa said law professor Firoz Kacharia will be appointed as police representative minister.
Mchunu is a senior member of the African National Congress (ANC) party in Ramaphosa, and political analysts say they can run for leadership positions at the ANC’s next election meeting in 2027.
Citing digital evidence such as WhatsApp messages, Mkhwanazi’s allegations included that Mchunu had investigated the politically motivated murder and disbanded a police force tasked with protecting politicians, police officers and others associated with the crime syndicate.
Mkhwanazi said more than 100 case files have been taken from the political killing task team and have not been investigated anymore since.
The Democratic Alliance Party, the ANC’s main coalition partner, has called for a Congressional investigation into allegations against Mchunu. At least one opposition party called for him to stop.

Trump’s base is not satisfied with the findings of Epstein’s memo
FALLOUT continues after the Department of Justice and the FBI’s announcement. They found no evidence that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein maintains a “client list.”
More Context: President Donald Trump’s allies, as well as many supporters across the country, are asking the government to share additional information about cases of dishonorable financiers and convicted sex offenders.
After that, a new report by the FBI and the Department of Justice Last week, officials said they would not acknowledge the “client list” or evidence that Epstein, who died while awaiting trial, did not commit suicide.
The findings prompted a pushback among some Trump supporters. He argued that the presidential administration has not responded to its promise of transparency with the American people. The outrage comes after years of claims from Trump’s inner circle that the government is hiding information about Epstein’s possible companions and the circumstances of his death.
A political future in crisis: FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino was weighing the future with the Bureau after a clash with Attorney General Pam Bondi in Epstein’s case file. But Trump said on Sunday that Bongino was in “good condition.”

New flood hits Texas
Heavy rains and new floods in central Texas Sunday prompted rapid water rescue and hampered a rigorous search for victims of the flood that cleaned the area more than a week ago, killing at least 132 people and leaving the devastation that followed. Most search and recovery operations along the Guadalupe River in Carr County have been suspended. Rescue personnel, equipment and vehicles “will need to be removed from the river area soon,” county officials said in a social media post Sunday. Meanwhile, Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem on Sunday defended FEMA’s response to the flood.
Faith leaders plan protests in the South rather than budget cuts
Earlier this month, Congress passed President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.” This is a spending plan that includes tax cuts as well as a federal/state health insurance program for low-income people, as well as a Food Stamp benefits program. The highest poverty rates are integrated in the South. One organizer said Southern lawmakers who supported the bill “voted against their people.”

A resident of northern Arizona died of the pneumonia epidemic, health officials said Friday.
Federal health officials say the plague is rare for humans.
The deaths in Coconino County, including Flagstaff, were the first recorded death from the pneumonia department since 2007, local officials said. Details including the identification of the victim were not released.
The plague is a bacterial infection known to kill tens of millions of people in 14th century Europe. Today it is easily treated with antibiotics.
Each other’s plague is the most common form of bacterial infection, spreading naturally among rodents such as prairie dogs and rats.
There are two other forms. It is a plague of sepsis that spreads throughout the body, and pneumonia that infects the lungs.
Pneumonia epidemic has the deadliest and easiest spread.
Bacteria are transmitted through the bites of infected fleas that can spread between rodents, pets and humans.
You can also obtain plague by contacting infected body fluids. Health experts recommend that you take special care when dealing with dead or sick animals.
Most often, it occurs in rural areas of northern New Mexico, northern Arizona, southern Colorado, southern California, southern Oregon and western Nevada, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
US President Donald Trump and Mrs. Melania Trump will travel to the UK in September to make a “unprecedented” second state visit at the invitation of King Charles.
The visit is scheduled for September 17-19, with the palace announced on Sunday, coinciding with a break in the House. It eliminates the possibility that Trump will deal with a joint session in Congress. This is the outlook that some lawmakers have urged the House Speaker to refuse.
King Charles will hold a Trump event at Windsor Castle, about an hour from central London, the palace said in a statement. Buckingham Palace, the usual venue for state visits, has undergone major renovations this year.
Windsor was also the site of French President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit last week, where Macron traveled to London to attend a Downing Street summit and gave a speech to Parliament.
Typically, the second term of the US president is not invited for his second state visit. In line with tradition, former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush were served lunch or tea with the monarch in the second administration.
However, the “unprecedented” offer was extended on behalf of the King when Prime Minister Kiel traveled to the White House earlier this year. A formal invitation was then sent in June, but the two leaders were unable to meet for the summer due to schedule conflicts.
CNN reached out to the White House for comment.
“His has known President Trump for many years and looks forward to hosting him and First Lady later this year,” a palace aide told CNN in June.
Details regarding the state’s visit will be made in the future, according to a statement from the palace. Like all state visits, it includes a complete ceremonial welcome and a state banquet. All senior members of the royal family are expected to participate.
During his first formal state visit in 2019, Trump was hosted by the late Queen Elizabeth of Buckingham Palace. However, due to security concerns, there was no public procession along the London mall, and the president arrived by helicopter.
CNN’s Mitchell McCluskey contributed to this report.
The Zyn Nicotine pouch is known as the “Ozenpic Gas Station.” However, using these nicotine pouches is addictive and probably dangerous to your health.
Fox-5 Atlanta
Poison Control Centers are sounding nicotine pouch alarms when young children accidentally ingest a nationwide spike.
The warning comes amid a new study that calls for a 763% increase in children under the age of six from 2020 to 2023, according to a survey published July 14th in Journal Pediatrics.
The sharp increase in calls to the poison control center is due to the increase in popularity of nicotine pouches, according to Natalie Lynn, a research author and director of the Central Ohio Poison Center. Children were also staying at home during this period as the pandemic prompted stay-at-home orders and increased access to nicotine products stored in the home.
“The popularity of these products began in 2019,” she said. “We’ve seen a huge increase in sales between 2019 and 2022…and we’ve started getting calls more frequently.”
Nicotine pouches, sometimes called “lip pillows” or “top deckers,” are small microfiber pouches containing nicotine powder. Here’s what parents need to know about keeping their kids safe from their nicotine pouches:
“Nicotine Hiccup”: What are they and why do they happen?
How dangerous is nicotine to children?
Nicotine pouches were 1.5 times more likely to be associated with serious medical outcomes, and twice more likely to be associated with medical hospitalization compared to other nicotine products in the study, such as tobacco and liquid nicotine.
Nicotine is a highly toxic substance for young children, especially in concentrated form, like a nicotine pouch, according to the National Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
FDA You’re trying to limit nicotine to most cigars and cigarettes. Vapes and Zyn are excluded.
After ingestion, some minor symptoms can include nausea and vomiting, Rine said. However, as the dose increases, children experience high blood pressure and a fast heart rate, which can escalate to seizures and respiratory failure.
Of the 135,000 calls made to the Toxicological Control Center between 2010 and 2023, the study authors found that nicotine was associated with the deaths of two children under the age of six.

The best way to prevent children from taking nicotine pouches is to remove the product from the house, Rine said.
If a parent or guardian chooses to keep nicotine products at home, she recommends taking the following precautions:
Choose products with a child-resistant packaging.
Store them in a high, out-of-eye location with a lock.
Do not use nicotine products in front of children. “Children like to mimic behavior,” Rine said.
Keep your nicotine pouch in your bag or wallet and make sure they don’t lie around the house.
Save the National Poison Help line number (1-800-222-1222) on your phone and post it somewhere in your home.
What should you do if your child swallows a nicotine pouch?
If your child is experiencing a medical emergency, Rine urges parents to call 911.
If they exhibit mild symptoms, she recommends calling the National Poison Help Line to access free, confidential expert advice from a specially trained nurse or pharmacist.
“We are always there to help you tell you through the symptoms you see with your child, based on the history you’ve given,” Lynn said.
She warns you that you are trying to induce vomiting. This is because fluid enters the lungs can lead to secondary problems.
“Inducing vomiting is one of the big misconceptions out there,” says Rine. “In many cases, you can cause more problems than you already deal with.”

Faith leaders protest with federal budget cuts to the South, where poverty rates are high, Medicaid losses, and many Americans injured by food stamps.
Trump’s budget bill will affect all aspects of the economy
The budget bill passed and signed the law touches on the lives of all Americans in one way or another. Will you get better or worse?
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Faith leaders are scheduled to begin demonstrations in the southern legislative district on July 14th.
Earlier this month, Congress passed President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.” This is a spending plan and food stamp benefits program that includes not only tax cuts but also deep cuts from Medicaid, a federal/state health insurance program for low-income people.
“We are not going to allow the damage, destruction, or death generated by this budget – (this) a big ugly budget – for those who don’t see it.”
The campaign begins on July 14th, planned for 11 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia.
Protesters will demonstrate outside the council district office carrying cas with statistics of people expected to be hurt by the cut.
Organizers said the focus on the South is partial, as many people live in the area. Recent US Census Bureau data shows that poverty rates in the Southern states were 15%.
“But the south is where all US senators except one from North Carolina, all US senators voted for this big, bad, ugh, fatal, destructive bill,” Barber said.
Republican lawmakers say many federal programs are bloated and cuts and other changes are needed to prevent fraud and abuse.
Louisiana Republican House Majority Leader Steve Scullies praised the legislation for passing and said he would give promises made to voters.
“You’ll see the American renaissance of this country in the golden age of this country that we have never seen in generations,” he said in a video released on July 8th. “And we’ll move this economy again.”
For weeks, barbers and others protested at the U.S. Capitol to pay attention to the negative effects of federal cuts. Barber and other protesters were arrested in the Capitol Hill protest.
“What we don’t do is stop and bow,” Barber said.
Two estimates show that between 12 and 20 million people nationwide could lose Medicaid. Medicaid provides health insurance to 20% of Americans, including 40% of children and 25% of adults with disabilities, covering nursing home costs for 60% of residents.
Over two million people could lose their food assistance program, Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
Rev. Alexis Carter Thomas, the convener of Moral Monday in Greenville, South Carolina, said protesters will deliver the cas to Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham’s office on Monday.
“We have a moral obligation to stand up to fight back against the laws that exert this death,” she said.
Grace Kim produced one of the most notable comebacks you’ve ever seen when she concluded the Evian Championship to become the fifth Australian woman to win the golf major.
The 24-year-old was three shots from the lead on four holes to play in the final round on Sunday, but closed with birdies, birdies, pars and eagles, drawing levels at the top of the leaderboard with Thai Gino Chitickle and leaderboards.
However, the comeback seemed to end early as he hit a second shot on the first playoff hole to No. 18 Green Pond.
But surprisingly, Kim switched from where he dropped to force the playoffs to the second hole. There he sunk a 20-foot Eagle Putt to seal off the most unlikely victory.
“Obviously, that’s a huge achievement for me,” Kim said according to Reuters. “I had a lot of questions earlier this year, I was unmotivated.
“We had to have a tough conversation with our team. Yeah, we had to wake up a little. It’s definitely surreal to sit next to this trophy.”
Kim, who fought the cold throughout the tournament, has struggled on the LPGA Tour since winning the Lotte Championship in 2023, her rookie season, Hawaii.
She only recorded one top-10 finish in her last 11 appearances per Reuters, falling to number 100 in the world earlier this year.
However, after securing her second LPGA Tour title, Kim joined the exclusive Australian women’s golf company.
Australia’s Minzie Lee, who is also a major winner, was watching from the side of the green as Kim sank the winning putt.
Seven-time major winners Karrie Webb and three-time winners Jan Stephenson and Hannah Green also make up the finest clubs.
“I walked 18 when I saw a photo of Curry as I stepped into the locker room.
“Obviously, this was Minsy’s first major, and this is mine too.”
The World Health Organization currently recommends the inclusion of newly approved HIV drugs from Renacapavir for prevention as a tool in efforts to combat HIV infection.
The global recommendation issued Monday at the International AIDS Conference in Kigali, Rwanda, comes about a month after the US Food and Drug Administration approved Lenacapavir as two annual injections for the prevention of human immunodeficiency virus or HIV. Renacapavir was approved in 2022 to treat certain HIV infections. It has been found to dramatically reduce the risk of infection and provide almost complete protection against HIV.
“These new recommendations are designed for real-world use. Who works closely with countries and partners to support implementation,” Dr. Meg Doherty, director of WHO Global HIV, Hepatitis and Sexually Transmitted Diseases Program, said in a news briefing.
“The initial recommendation is that long-acting, injectable lenacapavir should be offered as an additional preventative option for those at risk of HIV as part of concurrent use prevention, which is why we call it a strong recommendation with moderate to high certainty of evidence,” Doherty said. The second recommendation in the guidelines is to use rapid diagnostic tests such as home testing to use screening for HIV to start, continue or stop infection, pre-exposure prevention, or PREP.
HIV is spread primarily through sharing unprotected genders and needles. It attacks the body’s immune system and, without treatment, can lead to acquired immune deficiency syndrome or AIDS. Globally, around 40 million people lived with HIV at the end of 2023, according to the WHO.
PREP has been used to prevent HIV infection for years. In the United States, this can involve taking pills such as daily drug therapy called trovada, or receiving injections every two months of medication.
However, Lenacapavil, or twice the injection of Len annually has become another option in the prevention toolbox, not just for the US but also for the world.
“Wren is a six-month injectable option that may be particularly appealing to people who prefer clinic visits in daily oral preparations or are challenged. It can improve compliance, reach people who need HIV prevention and can use it for pregnant and breastfeeding women,” Doherty said.
“Who is working with global partners such as Global Funds, UNAIDS and several other partners and donors to provide technical assistance to countries interested in adopting LEN and simplified testing strategies?” she said. “We call on governments, funders, implementers and civil society to work together to implement and integrate LEN into HIV programs.
There is growing concern about funding global HIV prevention efforts.
According to the United Nations, international aid accounts for 80% of prevention programs in low- and middle-income countries. However, over the past six months, the US has largely withdrawn funds due to much of its foreign aid.
The Trump administration has dismantled the US International Development Agency, or the USAID agency, reducing funding for Pepfah, which serves as the president’s emergency plan for AIDS relief, or the biggest commitment of any country to deal with a single illness in history.
Gilead Science, the maker of Lenacapaville, announced Wednesday that it had reached an agreement with the nonprofit Global Fund to supply the company with no profits to combat AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Under this agreement, Gilead’s pricing only reflects the cost of production and delivery of Renacapaville.
“We provide futile medicines to Gilead and provide ample supply to reach up to 2 million people in low- and middle-income countries before the general renacapavir becomes available,” Gilead’s chairman and CEO Daniel O’Day said in a news release.
The company added that the costs of Renacapaville under this agreement remain secret.
In the US, Renacapavil is the only place where HIV prevention has been approvedSo far, the annual list price is $28,218 when used to prevent HIV. According to Gilead, the cost is similar to the prices of other preventive medicine options.
While Lenacapaville can “radically change the HIV epidemic trajectory,” only if it reaches the people who need it most, Peter Sons, executive director of Global Funds, said in a news release.
“Our ambition is to reach two million people with long-acting preparations, but we can only do that if the world stomps the resources it needs,” he said. “This is a pivotal moment. They are, wherever they are, not just because of the fight against HIV, but also because of the fundamental principle that life-saving innovation must reach those that need most.”
The United Nations warned in a report released Thursday that if funds for the HIV program disappear forever, millions of people could die from HIV-related causes by 2029.
Of the 60 low- and middle-income countries included in the report, 25 indicate that they are increasing their domestic budgets next year for HIV response efforts. However, the report said it may not be sufficient to replace the scale of international funding that these countries rely heavily on.
“We know that in 2025, Pepfar committed $4.3 billion to over 50 countries and that support suddenly ended in January 2025,” Mary Mahy, director of UNAIDS’ Impact Department Department, said in a news briefing.
“If PEPFAR funds are not replaced, we can expect 4 million additional deaths and 6 million additional new infections between 2025 and 2029,” she said. “We also know that drug resistance is likely to occur in some people who are not treating.”
Mahy said some countries have already seen the impact of HIV program funding rollbacks. In Nigeria, the facility reported that around 40,000 people received their PREP at least once in the second half of last year. That number fell below 7,000 in April, according to UNAIDS data.
A similar trend has emerged in Kenya. There, the number of women living with HIV, who recently gave birth, is decreasing. He was given medication to reduce the risk of spreading the virus to newborns. In October 2024, around 3,000 women were already administered the drug, and around 900 women started the drug, but these numbers fell to about 300 and 100 starting drugs already administered in April.
“This isn’t just a fundraising gap, it’s a time bomb. …We’ve seen services disappear overnight, and health workers have been sent home.
“There is still time to turn this crisis into an opportunity,” says byanyima. “The country is stepping into domestic funding. The community is showing what works. Now we need global solidarity to match courage and resilience.”

The United Nations says Trump’s increased tariffs will extend economic uncertainty
New tariff fees from 14 countries will do more in the future, extending the former start date for three weeks.
WASHINGTON – Congressional Republicans spent the first half of the year focusing on one goal. He handed President Donald Trump’s sweeping tax cuts and spending packages. The mission has been completed.
Now, lawmakers turn their attention to various press topics and look to other items on their to-do list that they’ve pushed away. The list likely includes impose new sanctions on Russia, ordering the Department of Defense’s global defense mission, funding the US government, and working on Elon Musk’s efforts to reduce spending on the early international development agencies of NPR, PBS and new GOP management.
But it’s not easy in the narrowly divided House and Senate where Republicans can only lose three votes in both rooms to achieve a majority. In the Senate, most laws require 60 votes to clear the filibuster.
Here’s what comes next on Capitol Hill:
Codify Doge Cuts
Earlier this summer, Trump urged Congressional Republicans to reclaim $9.4 billion in federal funds to reflect some of the cuts made by some of the government efficiency in masks.
The move strips funds from companies for public broadcasting that fund NPR and PBS, as well as foreign aid institutions such as the US International Development Organization and the World Health Organization.
If lawmakers do not act on it by July 18th, the request will expire and the funds will continue.
Republicans don’t need a Democrat vote to pass the Senate, as they only need a majority vote and Republicans manage rooms 53-47. However, some Republican senators are pushing for changes to the package to maintain funds for AIDS prevention, and it is unclear whether the vote will be passed.
Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer wrote a letter to his fellow Democrats who called the GOP plan a “toxic proposal.” This is equivalent to a Republican who, if passed, bypasses the traditional bipartisan spending process with “significant influence” due to the balance of power.
Avoid government closures
Congress must pass an annual budget bill to continue operating the government. If they do not do so, the government will be shut down. This means that most federal employees will be temporarily off work, national parks will be closed, and some services, such as federal food testing, will be suspended.
The deadline for funding the government is September 30th. As lawmakers won’t meet in August, they only have six weeks left to get it done.
Doing it in a traditional way – it’s unlikely that both the House and Senate will consider 12 spending bills on different subjects, sew them together, and pass it on a bipartisan vote. Instead, lawmakers will likely need another funding extension with bipartisan support to keep the government running.
That’s not easy. Democrats are furious at Republican plans to curb existing funds and are under pressure from the bases to push back the GOP rules. Political backlash Schumer faced his left-hand side with the decision to help pass the final funding extension. Expect some deals near deadlines or near government closures.
More Party Line Expense Invoice?
As Republicans tried to pass Trump’s tax bill, fiscal conservatives in both the House and Senate fought that more than $3.4 trillion in law would add to federal debt.
To get them on board, some lawmakers say Republican leaders have said they will pursue a second potentially third-party line package before the legislature closes at the end of 2026, pursuing deeper spending cuts.
Sen. R-Wisconsin Sen. R-Johnson told reporters on July 8 that he has “a considerable confidence” based on conversations with Trump and GOP leadership.
But achieving another party and line bill is a challenge. The narrow margins in both rooms have been difficult for Republican leaders to make Trump’s tax bills muscular.
Defense policy instructions
Approving the National Defense Authorization Act is a must-see for Congress annually. Lawmakers will use the bill to shape federal defense policies and approve spending at the Department of Defense.
Once the House and Senate lawmakers have finalized their proposal, they work across the Capitol to reach a compromise between both rooms.
The Republican tax bill included $150 billion for defense, but the Pentagon is asking Congress for $1 trillion. The NDAA will drove new policy fights, from anti-drone systems to making it difficult for the US to withdraw troops from Europe.
Russian sanctions
A group of bipartisan lawmakers led by R-South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham is pushing for a bill to implement sanctions on Russia to discourage Putin’s war on Ukraine.
Senate majority leader John Toon said on July 9 that he plans to lift the bill for votes by the end of the month. House Speaker Mike Johnson also expressed his interest in sanctioning Russia and said he was open to voting for the bill. You must pass through both chambers to sign the law.
The proposal would impose strict tariffs on countries purchasing Russia’s energy, and perhaps give broad power to determine when to enforce sanctions on the president.
Trump previously called the law “stricken” and expressed skepticism that it would work, but he softened the bill as his complaints about Putin rise.
Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain, a shocking 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday’s FIFA Club World Cup final in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
And blues star Cole Palmer led the way to the second CWC title in the storied history of the British Premier League side since 2021.
Palmer netted the early braces with two almost identical targets for just eight minutes midway through the first half.
The 23-year-old performed his signature “cold” celebration at the New Jersey Heat at MetLife Stadium, rejoicing the joys of Chelsea fans.
European champion PSG felt like he had dominated the CWC, in addition to his 1-0 loss to Botafogo in the group stage. However, Sunday got worse for the French side when the afternoon went up.
Joan Pedro got his second start for the Blues after a transfer from Brighton and Hove Albion, scoring another goal in the 43rd minute.
Following PSG’s Chelsea’s first half surprise trio was another unexpected twist during the halftime show. British rock band Coldplay appeared in a cameo performance featuring J Balvin, Doja Cat, Tems and Emmanuel Kelly.
The goal scored slower in the second half, but Chelsea’s intensity didn’t suffer as they kept PSG in a win.
Les Parisience finished his match with 10 players after midfielder Joan Neves received the red card after pulling the hair of Chelsea defender Mark Cukrera.
After the umpire blew the whistle full-time, the Chelsea player wore a “World Champion” and a kit of No. 25, rushing to the pitch to celebrate the trophy.
The CWC victory concludes an impressive season for the London-based club.
The Blues finished fourth in the EPL and won the UEFA Champions League berth next season after a 4-1 victory over Larigaside Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final in May.
Palmer finished the season with an impressive 18 goals just two years after joining the Manchester City club.
The forward called it a “great sense” to win the tournament and praised Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca for his leadership.
“Gafar has put out a great game plan,” Palmer told FIFA after the match. “He knew where the space was and tried to free me as much as possible. I had to pay him off and set some goals. He (Malesca) is building something special.
Italian 45-year-old Maresca, who joined Lesister City’s blues this season, has given his players credit for the victory.
“I don’t have words for the players,” Maresca said. “For me, we won the game in the first 10 minutes. We set the tempo and knew how to play. Today we found a Cole (Palmer) position with more space to attack. The effort from all the players was great.”
Despite historic UCL victory, it was a somewhat sour way to finish off a season when the Paris-based club tried to complete the square after also winning Ligue 1 and Coupede France.
According to the Associated Press, PSG has not lost on three goals since the 4-1 Champions League defeat at Newcastle in October 2023.
Frustration from the game boiled after the final mouth whi in conflict with Pedro and PSG goalkeeper Genluigi Donnaruma and manager Luis Enrique.
After the brawl cooled, Maresca saw him talking to Donnaruma as she was heading to the locker room.
As tensions cooled, Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino led trophy celebrations on the field, boosing from some fans in the stadium.
Palmer won the Golden Ball Award – given to the best player of the tournament.
Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez won the Golden Globe Award, while 20-year-old PSG forward Desire Doe was named the tournament’s best young player.
With Trump and Infantino in the middle of the stage, the Chelsea team lifted the trophy and officially celebrated the victory.
After the match, Enrique said he was trying to separate the players.
“There’s a lot of tension, a lot of pressure. … According to the AP, Enrique said through a translator.
“This is just the final result of the pressure from the game and there’s nothing else to add.”
Chelsea will have less than five weeks between the 2025-2026 EPL season and PSG will face Tottenham Hotspur on August 13th at the UEFA Super Cup in Study Oliuli in Udine, Italy.
