Detroit’s famed bishop’s residence returns to the market with a sudden discount

  • The mansion was once owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit.
  • The property features 12 bedrooms, 8 full bathrooms, 6 half baths, and a restored carriage house and garage. This is, according to the list, “a stunning example of what is possible in the main house.”

Detroit’s biggest privately owned home has returned to the market, and this time it’s back with a sudden discount.

The Bishop’s House, a 35,029-square-foot property in the Palmer Woods area, is listed at $1 million from its $9 million ask price in May 2023.

Built in the 1920s and once owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit, the three-storey brick and limestone residence, home to Catholic bishop Michael Gallagher, is located on two acres in Lucerne in 19366.

The property features 12 bedrooms, 8 full bathrooms, 6 half baths, and a restored carriage house and garage.

Although major renovations are required, the apartments showcase the details of the unusual architecture and retain much of its historical character. Among them are original stained glass windows, a private chapel, carved stonework, limestone fireplaces and intricate woodworking.

A 2024 YouTube video tour by Paul Wolfert, reveals both the property’s grandeur and its disrepair from intricate detailing in ceilings, vaults, unique craftmanship in rooms and around fireplaces, intercoms in walls, wood-paneled walls, hardwood floors, marble features, a large gutted kitchen area, dumbwaiters off of the kitchen, stained-glass windows in the chapel, an Elevitor shaft, wooden ceiling, exposed brick walls, wooden planks in the room, cement floors, open space plumbed for bathrooms, high ceilings, some damage to ceilings and walls, solid wood staircases, and more.

According to the list, strategic demolition has been completed to prepare new HVACs, plumbing and electrical systems. Building plans are included in the sale and all back taxes are paid.

The bishop’s residence has a history of renowned ownership. It was once part of Detroit’s Catholic Archdiocese and was sold to Detroit Pistons star John Surrey in 1989, and moved to Great Face Ministries International in 1995. Bishop Wayne T. Jackson, founder and president of Impact Network, sold the property to California investors in 2017 for more than $2.5 million.

The property was scheduled for auction in June 2024 through Schroeder Real Estate and Auction Co., an auction agent Luke Schroeder said in last year’s Detroit Free Press article.

Public records show that on October 28, 2024, a property guarantee certificate was recorded at a sale price of $400.000.

Tramell Tillman makes history by winning “retirement”

0

History has been made!

“Retirement” star Tramell Tillman won the Best Supporting Actor Award in a Drama Series at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 14th.

In doing so, he made history as the first black actor to win an Emmy in that category. Tillman, who was nominated for the Emmys for the first time this year, paid tribute to his mother with an emotional acceptance speech.

“I remember what I remember,” he said. “You make time for what you want to make time. Do work, and most importantly, for God’s love, don’t publicly embarrass me. My first acting coach was tough.

“Retirement” star screams mother during Emyce’s speech

Tillman pointed to his mother in the audience, “Mom, when you were no one else, you were there for me, and no one else appeared. Your love and kindness will remain with me, and this is for you.”

Tillman also thanked the TV Academy, saying, “I’m full. I’m humble. I’m honored. And as my mom says, ‘Woo! Look at God.’

Tillman will star as Milchick in the mysterious Apple TV+ sci-fi series “Severance.” This is going to be a big night at Emmy. Shortly after his victory, Tillman co-star Britt Lower, who plays Helly on the show, won the Best Lead Actress Award in a drama series.

“I share this award with the heroic cast and crew.

Tramell Tillman after “Retirement” after “Cloud Nine” wins Emmy

Tilman spoke with press room reporters and said he was “on the Cloud Nine” and “still dealing with” the historic Emmy victory.

“I am fortunate to be in the company of great actors who have gone before me, like Andre Brower, Ossie Davis, and Michael K. Williams. “These guys, I have been taken to their work for years and I have borrowed them, so I am honored to be in class.”

Reflecting on “the importance of seizing opportunities for myself,” Tillman said, “I said I would never do that as an actor, I said it was a career that leads to a dead end.”

“I just took a chance and learned that there is no guarantee in life,” he said. “But you keep taking opportunities and you keep taking opportunities for yourself. See what happens.”

Tillman also said his mother is “very proud” and “her support means everything to me,” adding, “I am fortunate to have a mother who is supportive, loving and has roots for me.”

What’s next for Tramell Tillman?

Milchick was in Tillman’s breakout role, but the actor has lined up many famous acting gigs since “Retirement” aired in 2022.

He also plays the role of Lena Dunham’s film “Good Sex.”

Sues Orman may be right, Dave Ramsey is wrong about Social Security

Sues Orman’s advice on social security makes more sense to most people.

play

Suze Orman and Dave Ramsey are two financial masters who are trusted by many followers. Naturally, both have placed emphasis on the important issue of when to collect social security benefits. But their advice could not be further contrasted if they tried.

Ramsey and Orman both offer some good justifications for their proposal, but the reality is that Orman is probably right, and Ramsey is probably wrong in terms of the best advice for most Social Security Beneficiaries.

Let’s take a look at what each of these experts suggests. And let’s take a look at why listening to Orman is probably a better move in most cases.

Sues Orman says he will advocate social security at this age

Suze Orman recently took him to LinkedIn to give advice on when to claim Social Security. Specifically, Orman said that retirement benefits must begin after the retirement age of those born after 1960, which is 67 years old.

Orman explained that Social Security could be launched soon in 62, but that it should not. She said: “Don’t settle for reductions in Social Security benefits. If you’re healthy, the best financial move you can make is not to claim Social Security before you reach your full retirement age.”

Instead of claiming at a younger age, Orman recommends actually waiting until 70. It is the last age where you can delay and increase your profits.

That’s when Ramsey told him to get benefits.

Ramsey takes a very different approach. He is advised to advocate for Social Security benefits at age 62.

However, Ramsey encourages you to assert your interests at that age, but will not use them. Instead, you need to invest. He believes he needs to get a Social Security check as soon as possible and invest his money. Because you will earn better benefits than if you delay your claim and accept the increased profits that come with doing so.

Why Orman’s advice makes the most sense for most retirees

Ramsey’s advice may sound good in theory, but it’s not really great advice. For one thing, there is no guarantee that you will get a higher return and that if you invest your profits you will get more money.

Retirees are generally advised to move their portfolios away from the stock market as they age and approach the time when they have to rely on income retirement plans. That’s because they can’t afford to risk having a lot of money in the market during a recession.

The chance is good, so putting Social Security money into the market will give you an overweight share of stock as you already have a 401(k) invested in the stock market. Essentially, we’ll have to deposit an excess of nest eggs in the stock market in the bank and expect them to rise over the next eight years.

There is another problem too. Once you claim Social Security benefits, you can theoretically promise to pour yourself all of your own into an IRA or other retirement plan, but you have it and you may be tempted to do something else with money.

Ultimately, following Orman’s advice and delaying your Social Security claim will guarantee you will earn more money than you would have had to claim your benefits at age 62. Follow Ramsey’s advice and it may not happen.

Resignation plans should not be such a big gamble. And we should delay claims as much as possible to earn safer and inflation-protected income from Social Security.

New York Governor Cathy

play

New York Governor Kathy Hochul approved democratic socialist Zoran Mamdani at the Mayoral Race in New York City on September 14, and on social media the city “deserves a mayor who will stand up to Donald Trump and make New Yorkers’ lives more affordable.”

The governor’s support was announced in the New York Times Opeda, where moderate Democrat Hochul detailed what led to her decision and conversations with state lawmakers. She is the latest well-known Democrat in favor of the 33-year-old Mamdani following his upset victory in the Democratic primary in June.

Mamdani’s shocking major victory over former governor Andrew Cuomo sent shockwaves during New York’s democratic establishment. Hochul initially refused to support Mamdani, who has worked to gain support from party leaders, including House minority leader Haekum Jeffries and Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer.

“In the past few months, I had a candid conversation with him. We had a disagreement,” Hochul wrote in Op-Ed. “However, in our conversation, I heard leaders share my commitment to New York where children can grow safely in their neighborhoods and where all family opportunities are within reach.

“Zoran and I will not look at everything. We do not expect from us. I reserve the right to always be honest and dispute and passionately argue,” she further wrote. “But I believe New York and New York City are at their best as we stand together against those who are trying to tear us apart.”

In response to her support, Mamdani said she appreciated Hochul’s “support for unity in our party and her work for standing up to President Trump, securing free lunch meals for children and expanding access to childcare.

“Governor Hochur has made affordable prices a centre of her work,” Mamdani said in a statement. “We look forward to fighting her to bring money back in New Yorker’s pockets and continuing her track record of building a safer, more powerful New York City.

New York Republicans respond to Hochul’s support

The Curtis Sliwa campaign criticized Hochul’s support on September 14, saying “the worst governor in America supported the worst candidate for the mayor.” Swawa, the founder of the Guardian Angels, a crime prevention organisation, is the only Republican candidate in a predominantly democratic city.

“They deserve each other. New Yorkers see backroom politics and know that Curtis Swawa is fighting for them, not for insiders,” said campaign spokesman Daniel Kurzina. “Curtis will become mayor this year, Elise Stefanik will become governor next year, and nonsense will finally end.”

Ed Cox, chairman of the New York Republican Party, shared similar sentiments, calling Hochul “the worst governor in America.”

“It’s no wonder Kathy Hochul’s New York continues to lead the nation abroad. New Yorkers are fleeing the Democratic Party’s worst tax and regulatory system and the public embrace of extremism,” Cox argued.

Charlie Kirk’s mourner at Kennedy Center

WASHINGTON – Trump administration officials, Republican lawmakers and other supporters gathered at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC on September 14 to pay tribute to conservative icon Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot on the University of Utah campus.

More than an hour before the prayer vigil began, a line of attendees behind a red velvet rope stretched out through the door and around the building. Some attendees sported a “Make America Great Again” hat and t-shirt along with the slogan. “If your gender confuses you, milk the bull,” read one man’s shirt.

A series of police vehicles were parked on the drive to Kennedy Center, Washington’s iconic theatre overlooking the Potomac River. Thousands of people were crammed into the big theater at Kennedy Center. Some raised their hands as the trio performed and sang Christian religious songs to launch the ceremony.

According to a news release from Arizona Senator Jake Hoffman (R), the vigil was made public due to Kirk’s “overwhelming overflow of supporters from supporters.” Hoffman was holding an event.

Several senior officials were expected to share their remarks and prayer, including National Intelligence Director Mike Johnson, White House Press Secretary Caroline Lewitt, and among others, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Director of Health and Human Services.

Kirk has become a national figure as a conservative activist and as a co-founder of Turning Point USA, an organization promoting conservative politics on high school and university campuses. Kirk, 31, was at Utah Valley University on September 10th and launched his “American Comeback Tour” when he was fatally shot in front of attendees.

College student on Kirk’s death: “It really hit me hard.”

Kirk was planning to visit Virginia Tech. There, James Hughes is a senior studying communication in late September. When Kirk was shot dead, Hughes said he was shaking and left tears in his eyes.

“I will never forget that,” Hughes, 22, told USA Today as he stood outside the Kennedy Center on Sunday evening to attend Kirk’s vigil. “When I saw what had happened, I literally started crying.”

“It really hit me so hard that this could actually happen in this country,” he added. Republican Hughes said he was already afraid that political violence would burn before Kirk’s murder.

“It was reaching a very dangerous point, but this really just put me on the edge,” he said.

Morner wants a political “turning point”

Christine Carmody, 65, came to Kirk’s vigil from his home in Frederick County, Maryland, to pay “respect” to “a wonderful, wonderful man.”

“It’s very sad for our country,” said Carmody, a retired accountant. “He’s a great person and just preaching what he really believed.”

Carmody said he hopes Kirk’s death will be a “turning point.” She did not closely track his campus tour, but the issues that Kirk spoke about were consistent with Carmody’s conservative beliefs.

“I also really believe that President Trump would not take office now if Charlie Kirk had never done anything,” she said.

“I’ll fight back.”

At the convention four years ago, 19-year-old Joseph Castalett got the opportunity to ask Kirk the question, “What do you do when there’s someone you’re a hound?” due to political beliefs.

Kirk’s answer was to “stay tight,” Castalet recalled as he stood in front of the Kennedy Center. Castalett said Kirk urged him to win college and instead moved to Washington, D.C. to graduate high school for an internship for Florida Rep. Laurel Lee.

He said Kirk’s murder was part of the political vein that pushed him further away in political spheres.

“I’m ready to fight back. If they attack me, I’ll fight back,” he said.

How to prevent auto repair shops from being stripped away

0

play

  • Investigate potential car shops by reviewing certifications and reading customer reviews at bbb.org.
  • Follow your vehicle’s maintenance schedule and understand the warranty to prevent costly repairs.
  • Always get a detailed quote before allowing your vehicle to work.
  • Find a reliable mechanic before an emergency occurs, save time and relieve stress.

To own a car, it’s not just about buying a price. Maintenance and repairs included. Finding a reliable mechanic or auto shop is important to ensure your vehicle stays in top condition. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) offers the following tips to help you make informed decisions:

Do your research

Start by seeking recommendations from friends and family who have had positive experiences from mechanics. If you are facing a major repair, consider finding a dealer or repair shop that specializes in the make and model of your vehicle. Make sure your store has the required license and complies with local regulations. Look for certifications like The Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) SEAL. This indicates that the engineer meets certain knowledge and competency standards in his field. Certification is valuable, but does not guarantee quality service. Always check your shop’s BBB profiles on bbb.org to see if it is certified and read verified customer reviews and complaints.

Maintain your vehicle properly

Regular maintenance is key to extending the life of your car and preventing costly repairs. Please refer to your vehicle’s manual for recommended maintenance schedules, such as oil changes, tire rotation, and brake inspections. Be aware of warning lights on the dashboard, unusual noise, or changes in car performance. Because these may indicate a fundamental problem.

Understand your warranty

If your vehicle is still under warranty, it is essential to keep it effective according to manufacturer guidelines. Some warranties may require you to use a specific service provider for repairs. If you are unsure, consult with the dealer where you purchased the vehicle or check the warranty terms to ensure compliance.

Plan ahead

Don’t wait until you find a mechanic until your car breaks down. Research and select a store with a good reputation in advance to save stress and time in the event of an emergency. Having a reliable mechanic can also help you establish long-term relationships, leading to better service and potential discounts.

Have a professional diagnose the problem

If your car is experiencing problems, please explain the symptoms in detail to the mechanic. Allows you to perform a full diagnostic to accurately identify the problem. Avoid requesting self-diagnosis or specific repairs without professional input. This is because it can lead to unnecessary costs and potentially additional damages.

Get a written estimate

A detailed written estimate including labor, parts and estimated completion time is requested prior to approving the work. Please contact us for additional charges such as shop supplies fees, returns or disassembly of parts. Check your quote carefully and understand all aspects before proceeding.

Final thoughts

Choosing a reliable auto repair shop involves thorough research, understanding your vehicle needs and clear communication with your service provider. By following these BBB guidelines, you can make informed decisions to ensure your car is driven smoothly and safely.

Even if you don’t lose your money to the BBB Scam Tracker at bbb.org/scamtracker, we’ll report the scam. Sharing your experiences will help you avoid others falling into the same scam. If you lose your money, contact your local law enforcement agency.

Baron Trump “very scarred” due to Charlie Kirk’s death: Donald Trump

0

play

President Donald Trump said his youngest son, 19-year-old Baron, was “very hurt” by the murder of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.

“When he saw this, he was very hurtful, but I was like everyone,” Trump said on September 12th.

Kirk, 31, a 31-year-old Trump’s alliance with young Republican voters and shaking Republican voters, was fatally shot on September 10 in collaboration with a university student at Utah Valley University.

Trump recalled Baron to meet the conservative activists who co-founded the student organization Turning Point USA.

“Baron came to me and he said, ‘Dad, I want to meet someone you know – Charlie Kirk,'” Trump said. “I thought he was going to say it, I want to meet King Charles or something.”

Trump said he set up a luncheon for the duo.

“He’s back. He said, ‘That guy is amazing, daddy,'” Trump said. “Charlie casts spells on the kids, and a lot of them, and a very diverse black person, white. So everyone is young women and boys, and I’ve never seen anything like that.”

After completing his freshman year at Stern Business School at New York University in Manhattan, Baron has now moved to the White House and has registered with NYU’s Washington, DC, campus and the New York Post, where people have reported. The White House declined to comment on the subject.

The president and first lady, Melania Trump, believes Baron helped Donald Trump connect with the young voters who helped him reclaim the White House.

Trump said his youngest son spoke with popular, brother-centric podcasters like Joe Logan and Addin Ross, and encouraged him to speak to him to raise his digital presence on social media platforms such as Tiktok.

“He was very vocal. He brought so many young people,” Melania Trump told Fox & Friends a month after Trump’s victory. “He knows his generation because the younger generations don’t sit in front of the TV anymore.”

Earlier this year, American Republican Will Donahue called Baron Trump the “future of the conservative movement.”

Aston Martin strollers are parents’ dream vehicles

0

play

  • Aston Martin egg3 will be available towards the end of 2025

Aston Martin has partnered with the luxurious child car seat brand, Egg, to create a stroller. Later in 2025, you will be able to purchase significantly more in the UK and other international markets than you would pay for the regular model.

The British automaker has been making high-end sports cars for decades and recently rejoined Formula 1 races in 2021 after a 60-year break. The company is also well known for being regularly seen in James Bond films.

The stroller lacks horsepower compared to actual cars, but the styling is heavily inspired by the brand’s vehicles. It is modeled to resemble the seats of an Aston Martinker car, with a car manufacturer’s logo and a harness similar to the seat belt.

Built on top of the Egg3 stroller, the Aston Martin Edition adopts standard accessories features and features unique personal spin. Available in three color options: white, gray and Aston Martin Racing Green.

The Egg3 stroller has many features that add protection and comfort to the kids inside. It has a large canopy with SPF50+ protection, three seating positions, an adjustable headrest, five-position handlebars and hidden storage. Strollers can fit children to 55 pounds from infancy.

Why did Aston Martin want to build a stroller?

Stroller companies affiliated with automakers are not new trends, but are becoming more common as high-end auto companies are entering the SUV market. Lamborghini and BMW have also partnered with stroller companies for the year.

Aston Martin specializes in two-door coupes with unique styling and a roaring engine, but is not considered a “family car.” However, with the debut of the company’s first super SUV, DBX, the car is finally in the lineup for moms, dads and kids. For stubborn Aston Martin enthusiasts, they can place their kids in a stroller that suits their car.

Stefano Saporetti, director of brand Diversification, praises the partnership with Egg3.

“Just as Aston Martin DBX brings performance and versatility to family travel, the new stroller offers parents a stylish, functional, high quality option that will give the Aston Martin experience to the whole family,” Sapoletti said.

Where is this stroller sold?

This isn’t your regular stroller, so it’s no surprise that this Aston Martin baby hurler will be premium. Prices start at over $3,000 and will be the first to be available in the UK and other international markets. You must first sign up for the website. That way you can notify us when it’s officially open in advance. There are no specific words yet for US customers to place an order.

Updates, scores and highlights from the second week game

For the first time in three years, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will face off in a Super Bowl rematch.

Last season’s Super Bowl team will match up again in the biggest game of the NFL two slates a week. Philadelphia dominated Kansas City for a 40-22 victory at New Orleans’ Super Bowl 59 in February.

It’s been seven months and each team is a little different. Philadelphia is taking part in their second regular season game, following offensive coordinator Kellen Moore’s departure for New Orleans. Kansas City’s lacking Super Bowl 59 main receiver Xavier is worth it, but the offensive line has improved thanks to rookie left tackle Josh Simmons.

The Eagles won seven consecutive games in week one (including the playoffs), defeating the Dallas Cowboys 24-20 in opening night. A day later, the Chiefs were unable to match that pace and fell to Brazil’s Los Angeles Chargers 27-21.

Two years ago, the Chiefs and Eagles met in Kansas City following their Super Bowl 57 game. Philadelphia won that regular season game 21-17 after losing the Super Bowl.

The Eagles may move 2-0 with another victory at Kansas City, or the Chiefs may get a measure of recovery for that Super Bowl loss. USA Today Sports offers late afternoon games, live updates, highlights and more.

Andy Reed’s offensive decision will not return to plague him as the chief’s defense is retained. Elliott knocked out a 1 out of 51 yards and gave the Eagles a three-point lead, but it could have been worse. The defensive coordinator is pleased with how this goes.

Eagles 13, Chief 10

The Chiefs start the second half by getting stuffed into the fourth and one, then doing a four and out and handing over the down. It was an offensive decision from Andy Reed, and failed miserably. Kansas City will be giving the ball at the KC 36 yard line.

Hurts has remained all quarterback for the Eagles in 2025. The Eagles are looking for sparks in the second half, but Hurts plays his role along the way.

  • Completed/Trial (%): 12/17 (60%)
  • Passing yard: 62
  • Passing TDS: 0
  • ints: 0
  • Rating: 76.1
  • Two rush attempt
  • 16 rush yards

After nearly closing in week 1, Brown responded with five catches for 27 yards in the first half of week 2. That’s not the effect Brown is still used to making, but at least you can remove the star receiver from the milk carton.

Among those receptions was an impressive one-handed obstacle for the first down late in the second quarter.

There is no evidence that Swift is attending Arrowhead Stadium for the Super Bowl 59 rematch. Swift has been a frequent visitor to Chiefs Home Games, especially in recent years. The pop star was not seen in the Chiefs’ first week defeat in Brazil. This is his first defeat since his engagement to Travisquerce.

We all have a knot at halftime and quickly go back to where we started. Jake Elliott hit the field goal from 58 yards over time in the second quarter, bringing us to a break that tied at 10am.

Chief 10, Eagles 10

Brown limped off the field late in the second quarter. It is unclear how the receiver was injured, but Kansas City cannot afford to lose more players in the already exhausted WR room.

Mahomes is doing everything for the chief of this first half. The quarterback is rushing up to 60 yards, and at this point he’s nine more in total. Mahomes hurriedly added a score to his ledger that day, giving the Chiefs a three-point lead late in the first half.

Chief 10, Eagles 7

Immediately after the score, the Chiefs’ defense gets a shutdown drive from their defense. They force the Eagles to punt and quickly return the ball. Mahomes tries to put the attack into gear after starting a drive on his own 31-yard line after a commercial break.

This was a tough sled for the chiefs, but Backer scored this field goal through an upright standing from 56.

Eagles 7, Chief 3

The first 15 minutes have come and I have the familiar feeling of being a Super Bowl runner-up. Philadelphia controlled the first quarter, scoring seven points and taking the lead in the second quarter.

Eagles 7, Chiefs 0

You can’t contain Berkley forever. The Eagles star lifts the visiting team by a touchdown with his own score of 13 yards. Barkley had no issues finding paydeat on that score.

Eagles 7, Chiefs 0

In the third and first, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles took advantage of the “Tush Push” play to get their first down.

Mahomes and the Chiefs marched into the territory of the field goal. Butker is wide in a 58-yard attempt, and the Eagles are trying to break this scoreless tie.

So far, the chiefs have done a good job of hurting Jalen, and the Eagles’ attacks look uncomfortable. Kansas City will take over its own 35-yard line.

The Chiefs would also enjoy a faster start to the offense, but they can’t get the job done. Kansas City is forced to drive away after a drive where nothing happened. At least they didn’t hurt their teammates this time.

The Chiefs wanted a better start defensively this week, so they got it. Despite a pair of offside penalties that help keep the drive alive, Kansas City descends off the field without causing damage on the scoreboard.

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles game begins Sunday at 4:25pm.

The Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles game will air nationwide on Fox. This is the only matchup at Fox at 4:25pm (America’s Game of the Week).

The game can also be streamed on the Fubo and Foxsports apps.

Chiefs vs Eagle Thra Live odds, money line, over/under

The Eagles star defensive lineman was kicked out of the season opener against the Cowboys for spitting quarterback Duck Prescott and was later fined $57,222, the equivalent of a full game check.

Carter was decisively not handed over any additional suspension, so he is cleared to take the field against the chief. The incident happened seven seconds into the game before the Eagles defense took one snap.

“It was a mistake that happened on my part and it won’t happen again,” Carter said. “I feel bad just for my teammates and my fans. It’s not going to happen again. I made that promise.”

Carter has been the Chiefs’ public announcer for the past 16 years. He announced in a Facebook post this week that he had resigned from his position with the Chiefs.

“So why are you leaving? Over the last few years, the team has made changes to what I’m doing,” Carter said in his post. “When I entered the playoffs last year, they asked me to make a big difference in how I called the game (whether I tried to do it, I tried to do it, despite what I tried to do). As we entered this season, they wanted more adjustments across my red line.”

“Dale’s dedication and professionalism are grateful for Arrowhead’s dedication and professionalism as an inside-stadium voice at Gehafield over the past 16 seasons,” the Chiefs said in a statement. “We understand and respect his decisions and hope that he is the best that he moves forward.”

The Chiefs’ top wide receiver in Super Bowl 59 was knocked out of the team’s opener against the Chargers on the first drive of the game.

Worthy will not practice on Wednesday, and will be restricted to Thursday and Friday, and he will not play against the Eagles.

Worthy’s injuries have been diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder, and coach Andy Reed told reporters they’re taking things “everyday” with his recovery. He is not placed in an injured reserve, so he could potentially return to the lineup in week three for “Sunday Night Football” against the New York Giants.

After the first Sunday game ended, Philadelphia sent the fifth and sixth picks in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Jacksonville Jaguars, running Tank Bigsby. Jacksonville selected Bigsby in the third round and selected No. 88 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Bigsby is on an active roster and can take some action against the Chiefs as Backup’s backup Will is due to a rib injury.

Bigsby had five carrys for 12 yards in the Jaguar opener against Carolina. His best year at Jacksonville tallied 168 carries for 766 yards and seven touchdowns last season.

Boxed Mac and Cheese Over Allergy Risks Recalled: FDA

play

According to a release from the US Food and Drug Administration, the popular vegan mac and cheese makers recall two products containing undeclared milk and nuts.

In a September 10 notification, Gooder Foods Inc. announced that it will recall some of its Goodle boxed mac and cheese after eight people reported allergic reactions related to the two flavors. The company said that “vegans are believed” plant-based white cheddar products may contain milk, while “truffles here” truffles flavored pasta may contain cashews.

Those who are allergic or severely susceptible to milk and/or cashews may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions when consuming these products, the notice said.

Which products are included in the recall?

Gooder Foods recalls three lots of plant-based Cheddar flavors and truffle mac and cheese produced between April 7-15, 2025. The affected products will be distributed nationwide to wholesalers and operators nationwide from April 29th to August 5th and sold online.

The company said six allergic reactions have been reported in connection with Goodles’ “Here Comes Truffle” and six of the two allergic reactions reported in connection with “Vegan Is Felievin’.”

Products affected by the recall include:

  • Goodles Vegan is Believin’, lot codes: 09725N, 09825N, 09925N, 10025N, 10125N.
  • Goodles here are truffles, lot codes: 10125N, 10425N, and 10525N.

Lot codes are located at the top of individual boxes and printed under the best date.

What if I buy a recalled Mac and cheese?

The FDA advises those who purchase recalled products not to consume them. Recalled products can be returned to the location of purchase for a refund, the company’s announcement said. Customers may also contact customer service representatives at 1-888-610-2341.

Who is Tyler Robinson? What you need to know about Charlie Kirk’s suspected shooting

The investigation into the suspect accused of shooting right-wing activist Charlie Kirk continues, with Utah Republican Gov. Spencer Cox saying that those in custody are not cooperating.

Tyler Robinson, 22, is accused of shooting him in the neck when it was opened to Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on September 10th.

Cox said in ABC News’ September 14th edition of “This Week,” that Robinson had not supported FBI investigators, but that there were “people around him,” including the romantic partner he lived in.

Cox added that the claims details what authorities think they motivated Robinson, as well as forensic evidence linking him to the shooting.

Authorities linked Robinson to crime through online messaging, interviews with family and friends, and reviews of surveillance videos.

“There’s far more information on Tuesday when that document is brought to court,” he said.

Here’s what you know about Tyler Robinson:

Kirk shooting suspect family background

While no potential motivation has been officially announced, family and friends previously told USA Today that he is more political and angry.

USA Today previously reported that as of September 12th, Tyler Robinson’s mother’s Facebook page was filled with milestones and celebrations for her son’s achievements. This page appears to portray the close family where Tyler was the oldest of his three sons. This page appears to be private as of September 14th.

Xander Luke, one of Robinson’s high school classmates, previously told USA Today that he was “political and open about people’s rights.” The defendant’s shooter “did the view that both political aspects were not contributing to the country in a worse place and improving the world,” Luke said.

Robinson, who has no criminal history, attended high school in St. George, a neighbouring city.

He is registered to vote, but he lacks party affiliation. His parents are registered Republicans.

Tyler wore a Trump-related Halloween costume in 2017, according to Amber Robinson’s Facebook page.

In August 2020, Amber Robinson posted what appeared to be Tyler’s ACT College Aptitude Test Score, which, according to the recent average, puts him in the top 1% of Test Takers. He received a $32,000 scholarship from Utah State, she said.

“We must also understand that on my full ride scholarship at my alma mater that didn’t continue the term, a 4.0 child at Act 34 became a 4.0 child.

The suspect’s romantic partners are working together but suspected they haven’t cooperated in the investigation, Utah government says

Investigators were talking to Robinson’s romantic partner who lived with him, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said.

“The FBI has confirmed that the roommates are romantic partners and that men are transitioning to women,” he said on CNN’s September 14th “Nation.”

The governor expressed his caution when asked whether Robinson’s partners were linked to potential motivations.

“We’re trying to understand that. We know that everyone wants to know exactly why and point their fingers, and I fully understand that, and I will,” he said. “I just want to be careful because I haven’t read all of the interview transcripts.”

Cox added to the ABC that Robinson had not confessed to authorities and “is not cooperating.”

The inscription of a bullet found has double meaning

The FBI recovered what they believe to be a murder weapon, a powerful bolt-action rifle, and several traces on the roof caused the gunman to fire one deadly shot.

According to Cox, the fired casing read, “What is this?” The phrase refers to animated videos and internet memes tied to furry cultures. OWO refers to the emoji and says, “What is this?” USA Today previously reported.

According to Cox, there was an inscription “Oh Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao, Ciao, Ciao.” The lyrics refer to the national anthem of anti-fascist Italian resistance during World War II, but your memes reported that some far-right groups began to use songs as ironic jokes.

Luke, a high school classmate, said Robinson was deeply immersed in the culture of internet and memes, and that reported sculptures on shell casings were not surprising.

Another week’s wild finish and some surprises shuffled the polls of US LBM coaches. But once again, the change did not reach its peak.

The team ranks 1st to 7th, but this week we had an easier time than the rest of the teams. Ohio has won 62 of the 67 votes this week, and 62 this week. Pennsylvania remains in second place with three No.-1 nods. No. 3 Georgia and No. 4 LSU each request the number one vote. Oregon, Miami (Fla.) and Texas are also stable.

Illinois will climb from 8th to 8th, the best Illini season rankings for fighting Illini on the eve of the Key Big Ten clash with 17th-ranked Indiana. Florida State Safe is 3rd to 9th. Texas A&M made its biggest move this week, climbing to seventh place, following their last minute victory at Notre Dame.

Top 25: After the third week, we will complete the LBM coach polls

Meanwhile, Fighting Ireland will fall from No. 8 to No. 21 as last season’s playoff runner-up still seeks the first win of the campaign.

It was a tough weekend for Palmetto State, as both Clemson and South Carolina were defeated. The Gamecocks will at least vote for No. 24 after losing to Vanderbilt at home. The Commodores will make their season voting debut at No. 23 thanks to their victory.

Clemson dropped out of the rankings after being handed over a second loss of his young season by Georgia Tech. This will be 19th place and move on to the poll. Also participating in the rankings are Missouri No. 22, who took No. 25 Auburn, after hiding just outside the top 25 last week. South Florida and Arizona have also been dropped out.

Monkeys songwriter Bobby Hart died at the age of 86.

0

Bobby Hart, the songwriter behind some of the Monkees’ most iconic hits, has passed away. He was 86 years old.

The official Monkeys account has confirmed the news on social media. “I miss you so much, Bobby.”

Alongside Tommy Boyce, Hart was half of the songwriting duovoice and Hart. The pair wrote tracks that would be synonymous with the Monkeys’ sounds like “The Last Train to Clarksville,” “I’m Not You). As a solo songwriter, Hart wrote hits like Little Anthony & Imperials’ “Hurts So Bad.”

Hart has been in poor health since breaking his hips last year and died at his home in Los Angeles, the Associated Press reported.

Monkeys fanbase lament Bobby Hart

Mickey Drentz, the last surviving member of the Monkeys, posted another tribute to his personal account: “One more great thing is gone,” he wrote.

“Bobby Hart, who wrote and produced some of the Monkees’ biggest hits alongside Tommy Boyce, made a significant contribution to Monkees’ general success, and more importantly, it’s even more important to the essence of the venture as a whole,” writes Dorenz. “His talent, charisma, good humor and calmness were sometimes nothing more than a maniacal roller coaster ride, often bringing a sense of peace that embraced everyone around him. He was the tranquility of a hurricane eye.”

Outside of Monkees, Boyce and Hart succeeded in recording the artist himself. Between 1967 and 1969, they released three albums, “Test Pattern,” and “What is She Doing?” And “It’s all happening inside.” In 1976, they reunited with Monkees bandmates Davy Jones and Dorenz, and were reunited for the album “Dolenz, Jones, Boyce & Hart.”

Voice and Hart were the subject of “The Guys Who Whing ‘Em,” a 2014 documentary on Voice and Hart’s musical and political contributions — they wrote the 1969 song “Luv (Let Us Vote),” which became the official campaign song for the movement that allowed 18-year-olds to vote.

Top picks for range, comfort and safety

You can assume that you can put almost all the tires you need in your car. However, the best tires for your car depend on finding the best balance of many attributes. Many of them compromise on each other, including noise, ride quality, treadlife, dry-raction, wet traction, snow, ice and price grips.

In the case of EVS, the main concern for tire manufacturers is rolling resistance. This is the energy needed to keep the tires rolling. Look at the car still sitting. (If you’re sitting inside and don’t feel like wandering, this exercise requires minimal imagination.) Even if the tires are inflated properly, there is a slight bulging at the bottom where the rubber meets the road. This deformation of the sidewall and contact patch absorbs energy as the tire rotates. The amount of rolling resistance is affected by many factors, including tire compounds, tread patterns, tire wear, inflation pressure, and temperature. Minimizing energy losses maximizes the range of electric vehicles.

EV tires are specially designed to accommodate the higher masses typical of electric vehicles. The battery is heavy. For example, the rear-wheel drive 2025 BMW I5 EDRIVE40 is about 800 pounds more than the comparable gas-powered 530I. Additionally, the torque and power of an internal combustion engine increases with engine speed (to the point), but the instant torque delivery of an electric motor causes a slight slip with each acceleration, such as short burnout from all stoplights, resulting in faster tire wear. Additionally, the weight of the wheels and tires has a direct effect, so caution should be taken when engineering EV tires. The I5 upgrades 25 miles from the standard 19-inch wheels to the optional 21S drop range.

It is also important for EV tires to minimize road noise. Electric vehicles are usually quieter than gas-burning counterparts, as electric motors are quieter than internal combustion engines. This means that the noise generated by the tires is more pronounced in EVs. With all that in mind, here are seven best tires for your EV, as recommended by tire rack tire experts.

Hankook Aeon EVO AS

Tire Rack recently compared nine popular tires from the Tesla Model 3, ranging from dedicated EV tires to high-performance summer rubber. In measured efficiency, Hancook even cared for Tesla’s factory-compatible continental tires. But wet climate shoppers should be careful: tire rack testers say, “Being able to properly separate inputs during turns and not force brakes is important to ensure that it doesn’t drift or step on, and can be a concern for drivers who are not prepared during emergencies.” Multiple customer reviews on the tire rack website have also reported concerns about wet traction, with one reviewer calling the Ion EVO “probably the smoothest tire I’ve ever driven.”

  • Guaranteed: 50,000 miles
  • Equipment: 15 sizes of 18, 19, 20 and 21 inch wheels

SUV as Hankook Ion EVO

From specific rubber compounds to tread designs, Hankook Ion EVO was developed as a dedicated EV tire from the start. Ion EVO as an SUV targets even heavier EVs, and users report similar experiences to non-souve ion EVOs. Improved efficiency and range, minimal road noise, but in the rain it is an uneasy behavior. Both variations of Ion EVO have struggled to ride on rougher, broken pavements than some of its competitors.

  • Guaranteed: 50,000 miles
  • Equipment: 15 sizes of 17, 18, 19-, 20-, 21-, 22-, 22-inch wheels

Goodyear Electric Drive 2

Goodyear ElectricDrive 2 takes the ideal of EVs a step further than sustainable ideals, and is built with at least 50% sustainable materials. It also includes foam inserts to help minimize road noise. In the same comparison as Hankook, Goodeear distinguished itself as the quietest participant. It also won praise as the group’s best riding tire. It’s a good commuter tire, but it’s not the best choice for a passionate EV driver. Tire racks pointed to uneasy handling on both damp and dry roads.

  • Warranty: 45,000 miles
  • Equipment: 17 sizes of 17, 18, 19-, 20, and 21 inch wheels

Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus Elech

Automakers have relied on Pirelli P-Zero to give final touches to sports cars and supercars for decades. And there’s no need to stretch your electricity, as evidenced by the current batch of EVS. It means giving up on enjoying the drive. The ultra-high performance all-season P Zero Elect adapts Pirelli’s legacy of the electric age. It exhibits excellent steering response, and tire rack test drivers point out its “intrinsic athletic ability.” They also praised the snow and ice grip, but struggled when wet.

  • Guaranteed: 50,000 miles
  • Equipment: 4 sizes of 18, 19 and 20 inch wheels

Toyo Open Country A/T III EV

The presence of all terrain EV tires is just as amazing as the presence of ultra-high performance EV tires. Not only is the Toyo Open Country A/T III EV designed for terrain that electric vehicles don’t think they’ll encounter, but it also has a winter rating, wearing the 3-peak mountain snowflake symbol on its sidewall. These sidewalls are adopted from the regular (non-EV) open country A/T III with revised shoulder lugs and modest lettering to improve aerodynamic performance. Coordinating with the modified rubber compound and the tread design, everything helps make the open country A/T III EV more efficient than the regular counterpart.

  • Guaranteed: 50,000 miles
  • Equipment: 3 sizes for 20 inch wheels

Continental Procontact Rx

The Continental Procontact RX is not a dedicated EV tire, teeth Factory equipped with Tesla Model 3 performance. So it displays excellent handling and brake grips on both wet and dry roads, and is praiseworthy quiet. Some, but not all, Procontact RX sizes can be used with sound-absorbing foam inserts, cutting out more noise. Also, as you would expect from the original Equipemento Tesla tires, the Procontact RX is one of the more efficient tires that can be installed on an EV.

  • Warranty: 40,000-50,000 miles
  • Equipment: 34 sizes of 16, 17, 18, 19-, 20, and 21-inch wheels

Mischlam Lymacy MXM4

Another original Tesla tire that is not developed specifically for EVS, the Michelin Primacy MXM4 is what the non-performance model 3 wears when deployed from the factory. In-depth research reveals the difference in the slower, less important steering response and competent, but not prominent, suffering from traction, dry, wet and winter in all conditions. Though not an EV-specific tire, the Michelin Primacy MXM4 nevertheless offers excellent efficiency. It is also surprisingly quiet, especially on smooth roads, with minimal impact noise.

  • Warranty: 45,000-55,000 miles
  • Equipment: 25 sizes of 17, 18, 19, and 20-inch wheels

Sadness over the identity of Kirk shooting suspect at a gun show in Utah

0

At a gun show near St. George, Utah, locals said they were saddened that someone in their community was being accused of killing Charlie Kirk.

play

  • South Utah residents of Travel Gun Show struggled to reconcile what they knew about their community with the arrest of “one of our own” in the murder of Charlie Kirk.
  • People in their community are taught to treat guns and differences with respect, one said.
  • Some are worried that the killing could lead to new gun control proposals, while others believe gun owners are enduring such measures.

Hurricane, Utah — The South Utah gun owners and their families who viewed a major gun show here this weekend were tormented by allegations that they shot down conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Some who went around the intersection of the West Gun Journey were afraid that such a famous killing could lead to a call for stricter gun control, but others said that armed Americans would never be particularly successful because they were so angry at this moment.

The show was held at Legacy Park three days after Kirk was murdered on the university campus in Orem, Utah, and the day after authorities announced the arrest of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who grew up not too far from the hurricane.

“We’re embarrassed,” David Martin said. He spent tens of thousands of dollars a year on guns and ammunition, and placed a “Utah Militia” patch on the protective vest he was wearing. Guns are essential in the western part of the countryside, just for safety against bears and mountain lions during camp, Martin said. However, it is surprising to him to use them for political violence in such community-oriented places.

“Utah everywhere,” he said.

“Every Yutan I spoke about is just sad,” said Martin’s wife Katrina. “It’s just heartbreaking that one of our own children did that.”

“Sad for all of America”

Martins lives in a hurricane – locals pronounce it Hal Wu Keen, the desert gateway to Zion National Park. It is a town near St. George, about 14 miles northeast of Washington, where Robinson was raised.

“It’s sad for all America,” said David Mendoza, who lived in a nearby virgin and attended a gun show. There, vendors sell a wide range of guns for recreational and self-defense, as well as T-shirts, ammunition and other gear. “What happened here in Utah was a very bad thing. Perhaps every household in Utah has a gun.”

People who grew up are taught to treat guns and differences with respect, Mendoza said, and from what he heard about Robinson’s family, it appears that was also true in his home.

“I don’t know,” he said.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox shared the horrors of his constituents to discuss his perspective in the murder of a political activist on university campus. In comments after Robinson was arrested, the governor said, “If it had to happen here that this wasn’t one of us, then someone had driven from another state, and someone had prayed that they were from another country.

“Sadly, that prayer wasn’t answered the way I wanted it to be because I thought it was safe to say, ‘Hey, we won’t do it here.’ ”

What happened in Utah suggested that many locals consider it moral and family-oriented, especially given the extraordinary impact of the Latter-day Saints Church of Jesus Christ, based in Salt Lake City, was a state that families should reassess their methods.

“Really, after all, a family unit is about teaching kids to be decent people and respect people,” said Brendon Boshardt, who traveled to a gun show from his central Utah home in Redmond.

“It’s not a gun (I’ll kill you),” Boshardt said. “It’s the jackass behind them. We don’t have parenting.”

“No one knows how to talk” about their differences

St. George’s John Wilhelm joined hundreds of people taking part in the gun show in hopes of selling a Bolt Action .30-06 caliber hunting rifle. At 63, he no longer loses his rifle to the field to chase the elk. After all, the rifle is reportedly used by Kirk’s killer, the Moser.

“There’s no one there,” Wilhelm said. “No one wants that.”

Assassinations and other political violence are evidence that Americans need to learn how to deal with their differences more, Wilhelm said.

“No one knows how to speak,” he said he hopes there will be no backlash leading to gun restrictions, but he would not mind using mental health ratings more widely.

“I have a lot of guns in my house,” Mendoza said she was worried that the killing could cause a repulsion that would lead to gun control.

“It’s another ffin nail for the second revision,” he said.

However, Martin, the best man in the “Utah militia” stated he was not worried about the move to restrict gun rights.

“It’s not this time,” he said.

That’s because Kirk was loved by so many gun owners, Martin said, and his death led them beyond the point where they could be suppressed.

“They took one of us and we were done,” Martin said. He said that trying to limit the gun will set “Tinderbox” on fire.

Charlie Kirk’s shooting prompts requests for a new chapter in Turning Point

play

A spokesman for Turning Point USA said in a social media post that in the days after Charlie Kirk’s death, the organization had been led to requests to launch new campus chapters for high schools and universities.

Andrew Kolvet said in a September 14th X post that the group has launched a new campus chapter in 48 hours after receiving more than 32,000 inquiries. Turning Point USA, a conservative youth-centric organization founded by Charlie Kirk, says it currently has around 900 university chapters and 1,200 high school chapters.

“Charlie’s vision to have Club America Chapter (our high school brand) at every high school in America (about 23,000) comes true much faster than he ever imagined,” Corvette said in the post.

Turning Point USA did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The impact of Turning Point USA

Turning Point USA was founded by Kirk in 2012 and has since become a prominent right-wing political force. In addition to its presence on hundreds of college and high school campuses, the organization holds meetings, encourages young people to organize conservative issues, and produces a variety of media such as The Charlie Kirk Show. The group and Kirk are believed to have worked closely with the Maga movement and helped mobilize support for President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.

Much of that power comes from connections with younger voters, and Kirk has long argued that his organizational chapters were necessary to combat the ideology of the “awakening” classroom. Kirk often met and discussed for the students. He was at Utah Valley University at the first stop on the “American Comeback Tour” while speaking in front of about 3,000 people when he was killed by a single gunshot on Wednesday, September 10th.

Kirk’s wife says the tour continues, and a public commemoration is scheduled

Kirk’s wife, Erica Kirk, said in her first public speech that she will be on a campus tour since her husband’s death. The next scheduled campus tour stop will be September 18th at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.

Kirk’s public ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, September 21st in Arizona, according to Turning Point USA.

Fox’s host apologises for saying that homeless people should be killed

0

Following President Donald Trump’s July executive order, the country has undergone a major shift in how it can deal with visible homelessness.

play

The Fox News host apologized after saying that homeless people who refused help should be executed by the government.

Brian Kilmeade made his original comment on September 10th. Kilmead and colleagues from Fox & Friends were talking about the August 22 murder of Ukrainian refugee Irina Zaltzka in Charlotte, North Carolina.

When the co-host said that mentally ill and homeless people should be more aggressively detained and forced to treat them, Kilmeade added:

Speaking about Fox on September 14th, Kilmeade apologized for what he called “ruthless” remarks.

“I obviously know that all mentally disabled homeless people act like they did in North Carolina, and so many homeless people deserve our empathy and compassion,” he said.

The United States is undergoing a major shift in how it deals with visible homelessness following President Donald Trump’s order that service providers receiving federal funds must first focus on locking people with drug and mental health challenges.

Trump has long criticised how the US manages homelessness, claiming that public roads are not safe for either homeless or residents. The president deployed National Guard, in part, in Washington, D.C., to eliminate homeless encampments in the city.

“To entrust our cities and citizens to disorder and fear is a lack of compassion for the homeless and other citizens,” Trump said in an order on July 24th that changes federal approaches to homelessness. “The federal government and states have spent hundreds of billions of dollars on failed programs dealing with homelessness, not the root cause, and other citizens are vulnerable to public safety threats.”

Conservatives often complain that homeless services have cost billions of dollars over decades, but providers point out that buckets are falling compared to what they need. They also suggest that such complaints do not have a nuanced understanding that the majority of people are temporarily homeless and not suffering from mental illness or drug use, and that the best way to end homelessness is to help people get home.

Rep. Don Bayer, a Democrat who represents Northern Virginia, is called Kilmeade’s original comment “Illness.” Other liberal critics pointed out that while conservatives are angry at those who celebrated Kirk’s death, Kilmeade receives little criticism for calling for the extrajudicial killing of American citizens.

“The homeless population in America includes over a million children and tens of thousands of veterans, many of whom were in Iraq and Afghanistan,” Beyer posted on social media. “No one deserves to be killed by the government because of mental illness or poverty.”

Last year, an annual national rating found that around 770,000 people experienced homelessness in one night in January. That number still evacuates 5,200 people living in hotels and shelters, and the 2023 Maui wildfires.

Now diagnosed at age 21, she is conquering the world with MS.

  • Diagnosed with MS, Kerrie Walters uses Pons devices to improve mobility and continue traveling.
  • Despite the challenges, Walters emphasizes the importance of adapting and experiencing new things.

Kelly Walters is aiming for a cave tube tour for his upcoming trip to Belize. She looks forward to floating an ancient limestone cave system through ancient Mayan archaeological sites and waterfalls. Just a few years ago, she would not have thought she could work on such activities because of her condition.

Walters, 57, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) at 21, affects walking and balance, and must use a walking stick. She is one of around 1 million Americans living with MS, an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system that affects the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves, according to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. People with different MS symptoms often experience fatigue, mobility issues, pain and numbness.

Oregon residents praise many of the treatments that began in 2022 for improving mobility. This is a Portable Neuroregulatory Stimulator (PON) device that uses electrical pulses to repair MS-influenced brain elements. “I used to be active, so I couldn’t do it for a while.

Even before Pong helped her unlock many of the possibilities she could become active, Walters didn’t let her MS stop her passion for travel. She spent most of her career working in the tourism industry in Oregon. As a traveler, she visited destinations such as Hawaii and Mexico.

Her trip may require more sophisticated planning to ensure that she is housed and find a suitable place for rest, but she said it is always worth it. “We’re lucky to be able to travel, and we have more friends, but I think it’s really important that people experience different things and get a little out of your comfort zone,” Walters added.

Diagnosed with MS

When Walters was in her senior year at Oregon State, she began experiencing numbness in her face and tingling in her legs. Following recommendations by the friend’s mother, Walters went to a neurologist and gave her an early diagnosis of MS.

Given the unpredictability of MS, Walters experienced a small number of symptoms until walking became more difficult. When she graduated in the late ’80s, she began working in hotels and then for the Oregon Tourism Commission, but kept her MS a secret. “I didn’t want people to think I’m weak or can’t do my job, so I didn’t talk about it for years,” she said.

At the time, Walters discovered a deep love for travel. After graduating from university, her grandmother gave her and her siblings some money, and Walters embarked on a trip to backpack Europe with her friends, but her MS symptoms are still in the early stages and have yet to affect her mobility. “My sister paid off the debt. My brother saved it. So it’s who we are, right?” Walters said. “It was really fun. Just go out there and see more of the world, right?” They stayed in the hostel, and saw the Berlin Wall just before the Berlin Wall fell and met people from all over the world. They still talk about their trip to today.

“My world is different”

Balancing her MS and travel with both joy and work is challenging. There were moments when she had to hand over activities, such as a hike with her husband. “My world is different,” she said. “It’s really calm like being at the ocean, but when you’re standing there and trying to get out, (people) don’t think about things that are so easy (for others).

After living and traveling for years while managing the MS, Walters compares it to the battery on the phone. “You need to decide what type of priorities you have,” she said. She can call the hotel in advance to get a room near the elevator, so she doesn’t even walk down the hallway to go for activities instead or carve out intentional rest times. “Find a way to participate in your life that works for you. That’s all we can do,” she added.

Additionally, the historic lack of accessibility in the travel industry feels limited. She previously faced challenges trying to fly with her scooter. This is an obstacle encountered by many disabled air passengers. Mobility devices are known to be damaged during flight and place a great burden on the owner to find and repair replacements.

With the help of her pond treatment, she feels empowered to push herself as much as possible, including a guided tour of the cenotes in Mexico, where she had to navigate slippery ground. On her final trip to Belize in 2023, she and her husband boarded the boat for a calm jungle hike. The well-meaning guide wasn’t sure she would proceed, but Walters got a walking stick and saved the memories of seeing the Howling Monkey in a wooden canopy.

“I can’t do everything, but there’s a lot more we can do together,” she said. What’s next on her travel bucket list? An adventure to Costa Rica.

Travel Tips

According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Association, travel tips for those living in MS are listed below.

  • Bring extra medicines to carry on board in case of unexpected flight delays and cancellations.
  • Plan ahead of time. By arranging assistance in advance at the airport, travelers can save energy on their travel days.
  • Avoid heat. According to the tissue, fever and fatigue can worsen symptoms or cause temporary flare-ups. Therefore, travelers are advised to plan activities for cool days or pack a cooling vest.

iOS 26 comes with a few other new features, including some with Apple Intelligence. Here is a breakdown of some important things:

Live Translation

Live Translation uses artificial intelligence to translate text messages, phone calls and FaceTime Calls on your iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, according to the Apple website.

In the message, live translations are available in Chinese (English), English (UK and US), French (France), German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish (Spain), according to Apple’s website. For phone and faceTime, this feature can translate English (UK and US), French (France), German, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish (Spain).

Live Translation is also available on Apple’s latest AirPods model: AirPods Pro 3. Users wearing earphones may allow live translations in the surrounding natural world. For example, if the user is traveling and is around someone who speaks a different language, the new AirPods listen to the interactions of the surroundings and translate them in near real time.

Live translation also works inversely. Users wearing the AirPods Pro 3 can speak in their native language, and earphones will be translated into the selected language via the attached iPhone’s voice or text.

New Calls and Text Features

Software updates have several new phone and text messaging features, including call screening. When a user receives a call from an unknown number, the iPhone automatically answers the caller, asking the caller for the name and reason for the call, and then translates to a user who can decide whether to receive the call. Similarly, the Messages app filters text messages from unknown numbers in different folders.

iOS 26 also has a hold assist function. According to Apple’s website, if activated, Hold Assist will keep the caller’s spot along with the live agent and notify the user when the call is ready.

Finally, iOS 26 users will have a new look voting feature in the messaging app, changing the background of their text messages to a photo or preset design in their Apple Library.

Most of these features are available on your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

An intuitive map

Do you want to use Apple Maps to travel to work, school, or a common destination? With iOS 26, the app uses artificial intelligence to learn the user’s preferred routes and provides updates on delays before users crash into the road.

Apple Maps also has a new location category that highlights restaurants, shops and other destinations users have visited before.

Apple wallet passport storage

Apple wallets allow users to store digital debit and credit cards, concert tickets, plane boarding passes and more, allowing users to store passports on iOS 26.

Organize your iPad screen like a desktop with multiple windows

Most features in iOS 26 reach iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, but some devices check for their own updates, including window systems for iPads. This update allows iPad users to open several windows on their screen, just like their computer desktop.
