British police will increase security before Trump visits London

President Trump arrives in the UK on Tuesday to make his second state visit, including a customary display of the royal pageantry at Windsor Castle.

play

LONDON – British police say they are planning “nearly every foreseeable unforeseen situation” ahead of President Donald Trump’s visit to the state.

Trump will arrive in England on September 16th for his unprecedented visit to the second state. The next day he will be treated to the customary displays of the Royal Pageantry at Windsor Castle, including carriage tours and lavish banquets.

“This is a critical police and security operation, as would be expected from the US President’s national visit,” Assistant Constable Christian Bunt, Assistant Officer of the Thames Valley Police, told reporters.

The Trump Visiting Royal takes place at Windsor Castle, west of London, the world’s oldest and largest residential castle. It was the home of the family of British monarchs for almost a thousand years.

British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer will host Trump on September 18th at Checker’s country residence.

The famous trip comes after the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, a stubborn ally of Trump, and then fostered fears of a surge in political violence in the United States.

Asked whether Kirk’s assassination had affected police activities for the visit, Bunt said the plans were constantly under review.

“I am very pleased with the plan to operate very comprehensive policing and security.

Bunt added that visits to Windsor and Checker would be for private reasons and would limit the president’s exposure to the public.

Trump vows to take strict action after he seriously beheading Dallas Motel Manager

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump said the “time of softening” for illegal immigrants ended after the horrifying death of Motel Nagamariah, who police said were beheaded and killed by employees in front of his wife and son.

Trump highlighted the incident in a post on True Society on September 14, making it the most famous crime he seized when he warned of crimes in American cities and illegally deported immigrants in the country.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, 37-year-old Jordanis Kobos Martinez, 37, who was charged with the murder of 50-year-old Nagamariah, had a criminal record including child sexual abuse, serious car theft, false imprisonment and carjacking.

“I know of horrifying reports of the murder of Chandra Nagamariah, a respected man in Dallas, Texas. He was brutally beheaded in front of his wife and son by an illegal Cuban alien who should not be in our country,” Trump wrote in his post.

Trump has condemned Cobos Martinez’s actions under the Biden administration, which remains in the country. According to Homeland Security, Cobos-Martinez was released from Texas detention centers on January 13th on supervisor’s order, despite a final removal order to Cuba.

“Don’t worry, when you’re softened to these illegal immigrant criminals, it’s under my watch!” Trump said.

The President added: “This offender we are in custody will be charged to the fullest extent of the law. He will be charged with first-degree murder!”

Police say Nagamalayan wife and son tried to intervene during an attack in downtown Dallas suite. However, Cobos Martinez pushed his wife and son away, continued his attack, eventually kicking Nagamalaya’s head across the parking lot and putting it in the trash can, police said.

Cobos-Martinez was arrested on state murder charges.

As Trump pushes the crackdown on crime in American cities, he and his allies are focusing on horrifying murders like the Nagamalayan incident to claim that American crimes are out of control. This includes the murder of a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee on August 22. Irina Zaltoska was stabbed in the neck by a homeless man while riding a railroad car in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Trump recently announced that after deploying security guards in Washington, D.C., he plans to send National Guard to Memphis, Tennessee to tackle crime in the city.

Trump threatens to federate DC over ice cooperation

play

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump threatens to federate Washington, D.C., calling a national emergency after city Democrat mayor Muriel Bowser, saying he doesn’t expect the Metropolitan Police Department to work with Ice in immigration enforcement after Trump’s 30-day acquisition is over.

In a social media post, the president said that if Bowser doesn’t agree to work for ICE, the outcome is disastrous, saying, “The crime will come back.”

Trump declared a criminal emergency in Washington on August 11, calling parts of the Federal Home Rules Act of 1973, allowing districts to direct 30 days of control of the police station. His emergency acquisition has since expired.

Bowser signed an executive order on September 2, requiring district officials to coordinate with federal law enforcement “to the maximum extent permitted by law,” and listed several federal agencies, including the U.S. Former S-Service and the FBI. Not included in the list are the US immigration and customs enforcement agencies.

Bowser told reporters at a press conference on September 10 that the executive order requires a return to “pre-emergency status quo.”

“Immigration enforcement is not something that the MPD does, and it is not something that the MPD does in the future, with the end of the emergency,” she later added.

Trump blasted Bowser early in the morning of September 15th. “Mayor Muriel Bowser, who has been the main side of this violent criminal acquisition of our capital for many years, has notified the federal government that the metropolitan police department will no longer cooperate with ice in relocating dangerous illegal aliens. Needed!!!”

Trump claims his acquisition has led to a safer DC.

“D.C. has since become one of the most dangerous and murderous vehicles in the United States to one of the safest cities around the world in just a few weeks,” he wrote in the Post.

Bowser agreed that an increase in federal government presence will help reduce the number of murders, carjacking and gun crimes. However, when Trump announced the takeover, violent crime in the city had fallen 26% since 2024.

Maintaining federal police for more than 30 days requires action from Congress. House Speaker Mike Johnson said he won’t work to extend the deadline.

Why do American farmers feel they are being squeezed?

0

Farmers say prices for crops like corn and soybeans are low, and rising operating costs are narrowing down profits.

play

It was a tough year for Heath Donor’s family farm.

Located on the northeastern corner of Arkansas in Mississippi County, approximately 3,300 acres of land managed by the donor and his father produce cotton, corn, soy and peanuts.

Donors had already anticipated the challenges headed for the year amid growing operating costs and declining crop prices. Historic floods in the first half of 2025 have exacerbated the problem by wiping 25% of his corn yield.

The donor, a fifth-generation farmer, is not used to the ups and downs of business, but he said farmers have been hit particularly hard this year. One trade group calls it the economic crisis that hit rural America.

“I’ve been doing this for my lifetime and it’s as dark as I remember,” the 44-year-old donor told USA Today.

Headwinds for farmers in 2025

Challenges for donors and corn and soybean producers have been linked to the abundant harvests of recent years, lowering product prices.

The USDA expects record-breaking yields on soybeans this year, with prices falling by around 40% from its latest peak in 2022. Regarding corn, prices have fallen by about 50%, with USDA expecting record production this year.

Meanwhile, the National Corn Growers Association reports that production costs, including the costs of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and machinery, remain near record highs.

“The aperture is real from both sides of the equation,” said Brian Duncan, an Illinois farmer and president of the Illinois Farm Bureau.

The National Association of Corn Growers calls it “an economic crisis struck in rural America,” pointing to the third year in a row where farmers are facing a growing negative profit margin.

NCGA chief economist Christa Swanson said the trade group is worried that it will exacerbate the situation by increasing import costs and urging retaliatory actions from countries purchasing US corn.

Already, according to the American Soybean Association, China, which imports around 60% of the world’s soybean supplies, has refused to book soybean purchases from the 2025 harvest of its US suppliers and is heading to Brazil instead.

“The more autumn comes without a soy agreement with China on soybeans, the worse the impact on our soybean farmers will be,” the ASA said in an August letter to President Donald Trump. “US soy farmers cannot survive long-term trade disputes with their biggest clients.”

Farm prices are limited to retail prices, but raw materials, which make up a small portion of grocery store sticker prices, could have ripple effects on the wider economy as farmers struggle cuts spending.

The Arkansas-based farm donor said farm machinery is easier to use than during the Covid-19 pandemic, but now “no one has the money to buy.” Donors have put off purchasing new equipment over the past few years.

“When farmers are profitable and the farm economy is strong, we see that there is a ripple effect through the rural economy,” said Swanson of the NCGA. But “they cut back on those things during difficult times.”

Support along the way?

A recent Federal Reserve survey suggests farmers are feeling a squeeze. Farm revenue and credit conditions are weakening, but demand for funding is increasing.

“I am particularly concerned about people who may not have the fairness to return to ride another unprofitable year,” Duncan said, adding that younger farmers tend to be at greater risk. “I don’t want to lose another generation of farmers, like I did in the ’80s.”

The Trump administration has announced more than $60 billion in grants to farmers over the next decade of its recent tax and spending packages. However, that support will not begin until the fall of 2026, and farmers like donors worry it will be too late.

“What I’m hearing from creditors is that I don’t want to wait until October (2026) to get that money, so I don’t know what it will look like in 13 months,” the donor said. “We need a bridge of sorts.

During the trade war with China during Trump’s first term, Trump granted a relief payment of about $28 billion to compensate farmers for losses. Agriculture Secretary Brook Rollins told CNN in April that the administration is ready to deploy similar relief in its second term.

“The prayer is that it doesn’t have to happen, but second, if it’s done in the short term, like Trump 1, we’re prepared for it,” Rollins said.

In the meantime, trade groups have called on the Trump administration to come to help farmers.

In August, the NCGA asked officials to remove trade barriers, implement new transactions and address higher input costs. The month also asked Trump to prioritize soybeans in trade negotiations and work to eliminate China’s retaliation obligations in the United States.

Previously, Trump was a true social and urged China to “quickly absorb soy orders” but the timing of the new agreement could take several months, with trade negotiations being extended until November.

The President also implemented agreements from other countries, including Indonesia, to strengthen agricultural imports in the negotiations.

“There are many other countries in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Mexico, and we want to increase livestock production primarily in the poultry sector. And soybeans are one of the key factors for that. “So, where you’re seeing a large population growth and income rise, you’ll generally see good demand for soybeans to support that protein sector.”

David Ortega, a food economist and professor at Michigan State University, said that establishing a new export market is not an easy feat, and it is not yet clear that handshake agreements with various countries will be compared to China’s purchasing power, especially as Trump’s use of tariffs has been challenged in court.

“In a country like China, it’s much easier for farmers to find new suppliers than it would be to find new export markets. There are many people who are very interested,” Ortega said.

In the meantime, Duncan says he’s waiting to see what lifelines are available to help farmers do that next fall.

“We are looking for a real, real rise in demand,” Duncan said. “There’s a crop that we’ve got to go somewhere.”

Seth Rogen’s Trophy. Noah Weil’s Love Sprint

Something I didn’t see at the 77th Emmy Awards on September 14th.

LOS ANGELES – Seth Rogen’s Apple TV+ Comedy Series “Studio” won 13 Emmy Awards, including the Best Comedy Series, and set a record at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. On the drama side, “er” star Noah Weil ultimately won the first Emmy Award for the HBO medical series “The Pitt.”

However, the standout emotional moment inside the Peacock Theatre on September 14 came when Stephen Colbert won the best talk series Emmy in “Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” When Colbert recommended staff on stage and heard the chant “Stephen, Stephen,” the spontaneous explosion of applause was pure bedram.

Behind the scenes, Colbert stood with a passionate aide of 20 writers and worked on the fuss.

“It was really satisfying. I’m very grateful,” Colbert said when USA Today was asked about the enthusiastic reception. “I know it wasn’t just me. It was for all these people that really made it possible to do the job.”

Here’s what I didn’t see on TV at the Emmy Awards on Sunday:

Seth Rogen is struggling to hold four Emmy trophies

After Seth Rogen won three Emmy Awards for “Studio,” the actor embraced a heartfelt embrace from his co-stars and frequent collaborator Aike Barinholtz in the audience during a commercial break.

“Congratulations and congratulations,” said Barinholtz with a laugh. “So another big victory?”

Rogen did not respond to comments worthy of jinx. But certainly, executive producer Rogen won his fourth and biggest Emmy in the “Studio” best comedy series.

Behind the scenes, Rogen was able to carry all four trophies to the podium. But he had to kneel to slowly put the bulky Emmy down before he could ask a question.

“We’ll probably put it in the bedroom on the bed,” Rogen said.

Standing by his side, Barinholz had other ideas: “He turns one of them into a bong.”

Sarawell’s Mad Emis Dash celebrates to celebrate with “Pitt” husband Noah Weil

In his first Emmy speech that was perfect for his pitch, Noah Weil said, “Not only because it’s California law, but because she got it.

The TV cameras flashed to his wife, Sara Wells, who had been in over 11 years. However, the camera did not show Wells’ crazy dash from her auditorium seat to join her husband behind the scenes during the commercial break.

Wells sprinted the long road around the auditorium and through the crowded lobby, slamming the escort’s arms for balance, despite her unstable heels being occupied by the stride-limited hem of her ball gown. Despite the distance, she never lost her whimsical smile.

Behind the scenes, Weil was credited with the real hero of “Pitt.” First responder.

“That was the audience we made the show and the first audience that overwhelmingly responded,” Weil said. “It was their review that gave them that seal of approval.”

Emmy Stars pays $16.25 for Bad Light Seltzer Flavor Blast

Certainly there was a VIP area with complimentary drinks and food. However, many stars did not mind throwing them away to celebrate with guests at Peacock Theatre. “Hacking” actor Mark Indelicart grabbed a Bad Light Seltzer Flavor Blast ($16.25) in the lobby and took a selfie with his fans. “White Lotus” star Amy Lowood was happy to accept the nasty gin drink from her peers ($17.50).

Emmy presenter, “Showgan,” starring Anna Sawai and Sanada Islands, enjoyed a drink that included GH Mumm Rosé. Sanada handed her credit cards to handle the group. So, Lord Yoshi Toranaga.

John Oliver shouts Adam Driver’s “Majestic peck”

John Oliver’s praise for Adam Driver was behind the scenes despite the “Gucci House” actor being absent from the ceremony.

As part of the longtime “Last Week Tonight” bit, the talk show hosts have brought an obsession with the driver. Naturally, Oliver was asked what he imagined the driver would say about his 22nd and 23rd Emmy victory.

“I’m struggling and I’m arresting you from the tuxedo,” Oliver said. “So, if I can’t stay with this… I don’t know how his majestic peck Adam Driver wears a shirt.”

Selena Gomez’s date night with Benny Blanco, Steve Martin, Martin Short

The night of Selena Gomez’s date with his fiancee Benny Blanco was perfect, especially as the couple sat next to Gomez’s “the only murder of the building” Steve Martin and Martin Short.

The PDA-loving couple had time to whisper to each other, with Gomez completely resting their left arm around the swing (while showing off the sparkle of diamonds in their right hand). Gomez was her seatmate, still on the right, and frequently had stupidity along with the short Martin. When “Saturday Night Live” Lorne Michaels accepted “SNL50” Emmy, Gomez led the standing ovation, and Martin cracked the group by grabbing his mouth to make a fake cat call towards the stage. When champagne arrived in a plastic cup for short, the actor pronounced “Shalom Aleichem” (“Your Peace”) as grossy.

Jean Smart and Sterling K. Brown’s injuries report

Jean Smart was located behind the scenes when she was announced in her seventh career Emmy Awards victory and fourth in HBO’s “Hacking.” Smart had to be nearby due to a knee injury.

“If I was walking like John Wayne, that’s because I’d broken my knee this summer and it’s not completely repaired,” Smart said he accepted the award before climbing behind the scenes with presenter Jennifer Coolidge.

“Paradise” star Sterling K. Brown then ran to the stage on a knee scooter, introducing Emmy, and served as the finest director alongside co-stars Julian Nicholson and James Marsden. Due to Achilles Heel’s injuries, Brown sat in the front row on crutches, his injured leg extending into the aisle.

“White Lotus” casts are everywhere

The star who just married, Patrick Schwarzenegger, was not there, but the “White Lotus” cast was everywhere.

Natasha Rothwell flocked to the auditorium as her co-star Dom Hetrakle literally carried a train in her gown and limited the number of people stepping on it.

Parker Posey agreed to all the selfie requests before stepping inside, and Leslie Bibb led her husband Sam Rockwell in sunglasses with her hand. While in different seating sections, the groups interacted to the end. The HBO Show went home empty-handedly past the Emmys, but star Larisa Manovan happily carried her own pink gown train and finished the night towards the car pickup.

VMware starts AI routes, but not in the core business

0

VMware owner Broadcom announced the VMware Cloud Foundation platform a few weeks ago that it is AI native to the VMware Explore Conference.

Maintaining the rest of the wide and rapid adoption of the technology industry’s large language model was the company’s latest move, but since it acquired virtualization giant VMware in November 2023, the company has been battling bad news about the licensing policy changes that have plagued it.

Several lawsuits focusing on existing contracts, including termination of free tiers on the platform, reporting aggressive sales tactics to get subscribers on board, and existing perpetual licenses have led many users to rethink what is often the basis of their IT stacks. Nutanix, Suse and IBM were among the beneficiaries from those who left VMware in the stable house.

However, the nature of VMware deployments means they are often complex, and pulling workloads from a severely virtualized environment running on a platform can be accompanied by high migration costs, rather than insignificant risks for organizational QoS metrics. It’s better to stay and pay with the demon you know, rather than go out on your limbs and move to an alternative.

Similarly, engineering AI into VMware products is full of the same potential fallout as the danger. Once you reorganize your VMware platform and burn AI at the core, your end-user stud workload will pay for the price of the change. And the nature of software is that the deeper, more corrupted changes are made, the greater the potential negative impact.

The first aim of Broadcom is to make it easier for users to deploy AI models and agents within their existing environments. The VMware Private AI Services will ship with a VCF 9 subscription next year and consist of all the necessary elements to build and run AI on-premises, or at least external hyperscale facilities. It includes a model store (at least in the test phase, many organizations will be at least open source, small models, vector databases, agent AI builders, and off-the-shelf API gateways to allow optimized machine-to-machine communications between separate AI models that require working in sequence with open source, small models, vector databases, and off-the-shelf API gateways.

Meeting attendees were told that AI in the enterprise would only grow, so it only makes sense that AI should be a feature of all VMware-based infrastructure. Currently, what Broadcom offers is an AI-oriented nod, but nothing unique or new. The company has also announced a simpler release of its MCP servers, as well as improvements to the VMware Tanzu platform, including its new data lakehouse, Tanzu Data Intelligence.

For VMware’s own developer, the probably low fruit was intelligent assist for VCF, a chatbot that has access to the VMware KnowledgeBase. AI-powered ‘bots allow users to spend more time raising problems and questions and talk to people who can help.

The excitement over the widespread adoption of containers has led many to declare that the end was nearing due to “traditional” virtualization. The reality was that legacy infrastructure would force enterprise users to integrate with the platform they invested in, despite rape-like licensing fees and high costs.

VMware may be spreading a bit of AI Fairy-Dust deals between IT and its customers, but it has been found that the presence of legacy infrastructure at the core of a company will guarantee its long-term revenue.

How the War of Tort has become a Court War

0

You’re reading State Court Report Every other week newsletter. Subscribe to receive in your inbox.

Medical malpractice and other personal injury cases may not be the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to state constitutional rights. But state efforts in tort reform, including damages and changing periods of restrictions, have spurred constitutional challenges for hundreds of states over decades, with many state laws being ultimately broken or restricted. These cases also oppose the background to the fascinating, high-stakes political narrative. How the fight over tort reform has changed the structure of judicial elections and the state courts across the country.

The Ohio and North Carolina courts of appeal have recently reached a variety of conclusions on the challenges of legal caps regarding non-economic damages (such as pain and distress) in the case of medical malpractice. The case gives a good sense of how the courts are addressing the question of tort reform and suggests some political narratives.

in Lyon v. Riverside Methodist Hospitalthe Ohio Court of Appeals ruled that Ohio’s damages CAP, if applied to plaintiffs, violated the legitimate process and equal protection provisions of the state constitution. The problem was $2.2 million non-economic damages awarded to Lyon by the ju apprentice after the health care provider failed to diagnose her thiamine deficiency, resulting in brain condition and severe neurological damage. Under the associated damages cap, Lyon only received $965,527.

The court explained that the law was apparently constitutional because Congress determined that CAP would help raise healthcare costs and that it was reasonable to apply it. However, given the scale of Lyon’s award and the “extreme and lasting harm” caused by her injuries, the court ruled that applying the cap in her case violated her rights.

First, CAP reduced Lyon’s damages by more than 57%. It effectively placed the cost of public interest (reducing insurance costs) on Lyon’s shoulder. Such a significant reduction was unreasonable and arbitrary, the court concluded, violating Lyon’s rights to the rights of the process. The law also treated Lyon in a different way than other victims of tort. Because it was only applied in cases of medical malpractice. If Lyon’s damages were attributed to a car accident, she would have been awarded a full award. Thus treating Lyon “in a different way based on the nature of her sacrifice” the court denied her equal protection of the law.

In the second case, Mohebaliin. Hayesthe North Carolina Court of Appeals refused to challenge similar laws under different legal theories. Mohebari caused a negligence case against the obstetrician. The obstetrician allowed the pregnancy to advance well beyond the normal 40-week gestation period, resulting in the death of the fetus. The ju apprentice awarded $7.5 million in her non-economic damages, which was cut to $656,730 at the state cap. Mohebari alleged that the law violated her rights to a trial trial.

It was a matter of first impressions for North Carolina, but not for state courts elsewhere. The court has identified five state Supreme Courts whose deadlines for non-economic damages violated the rights of the plaintiffs’ trial trials (Alabama, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri and Washington) and violated nine people who rejected such claims (Alaska, Idaho, Massachusetts, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan, Wesia, Virginia, Virginia, Virginia, Virginia, Virginia, Virginia, Virginia, Virginia, Virginia, Utasia and Virginia). Turning to the state constitution, North Carolina courts rejected the motion, highlighting case law that found legislature generally had the power to determine when relief measures are legally recognized.

These two cases illustrate some of the legal theories that have been used to challenge the Tort Reform Act, as well as the economic and emotional interests of these cases. However, legal stories are also intertwined with political stories. A series of state Supreme Court decisions that robbed the Tort Reform Act in the 1990s led to a transformation of the National Supreme Court elections from sleepy, low-cost races into highly politicized contests of major special interest.

There were several well-known Supreme Court election battles in the 1990s, but in 2000 a modern electoral environment was formed. After the Illinois Supreme Court repealed the Tort Reform Act, in 1997, the Ohio Supreme Court announced in 1999 that the US Chamber of Commerce was involved in elections in seven states. The army race continued. Between 2000 and 2009, both business profits and plaintiff trial lawyers dramatically increased spending, which doubled the average candidate funding compared to the previous decade. In some states, a more business-friendly Supreme Court majority took root.

Certainly, this story can be seen unfolding in the Ohio Supreme Court case cited Lyon. Throughout the 1990s, courts repeatedly deleted laws restricting damages. However, in 2007, the court highlighted the previous case, supporting a new cap on non-economic damages for facial challenges, as there were sculptures for those suffering catastrophically injured. What has changed? Court membership, including the $4.4 million spent by the Chamber of Commerce in the 2000s after a multi-million-dollar election in the 2000 Ohio Supreme Court election.

It was the first iteration of the highly politicized judicial election battles we see all over the country today. And even today, business groups and trial lawyers continue to be key forces as issues such as abortion rights and constituency changes are becoming more prominent in judicial elections. It is a reminder of the political battles that often fall under the surface of legal rulings.

Social Security Beneficiaries face double wamy in 2026

0

The moments that make history are not all they are cracked.

play

For nearly 70 million beneficiaries who received traditional Social Security benefits in July, the most anticipated day of the year is fast approaching.

On October 15th, the Social Security Administration (SSA) reveals what is expected to be a surge in program changes in 2026. Most retired workers rely on monthly checks with a certain level of competence, and it is important to know how much they receive next year is the most important thing.

Social Security’s 2026 Cola is paced to make history for the first time in nearly 30 years, but all signs show that it is facing something like next year’s double whammy.

What purpose does Social Security Coke serve?

The very important coke you keep listening to is a tool that SSA is at your disposal and helps beneficiaries fight back against the effects of inflation (increasing prices).

Hypothetically, if the collective costs of a wide basket of goods and services that older people regularly purchase will rise by 3% from the next year to the next, Social Security benefits should also increase at the same rate to avoid loss of purchasing power. Social Security’s cost-of-living adjustments are the “salary increases” received by beneficiaries in most years, and helps to counter the effects of inflation on their purchasing power.

Before 1975, there was no inflation index or cola formula that Social Security relied on. Rather, a special session of the Congress will arbitrarily take over the increase in profits without rhyme or reason. For example, there was no single profit adjustment in the 1940s, but then in 1950 it was followed by the largest ever cola of 77%.

Since 1975, the consumer price index for urban wage workers and administrative workers (CPI-W) has become an inflationary measure of the program that allowed them to take over the annual Colas when needed. North of the 200 expenditure category, all have their own percentage weightings. These weightings allow you to narrow the CPI-W to one number per month. This makes it easier to compare year-on-year and determines whether prices are rising (inflation) or falling (deflation).

Social Security’s cost of living adjustment calculation only takes into account the CPI-W readings for the third quarter (July to September), which is about a month away from the release of the final puzzle piece needed to calculate the 2026 COLA: The Sete Sete Inflation Report.

US Inflation Rate Chart

On paper, Social Security’s 2026 cost-of-living adjustments should make history

Throughout the majority of the 2010s, Social Security Colas was largely forgettable. The past decade featured three years when cola was not handed over due to deflation (2010, 2011, 2016) and the smallest positive cola in the program’s history (0.3% in 2017).

However, since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, there have been a critical change in Social Security Colas. The historic rise in US money supply followed by the highest general inflation rate in over 40 years. The final result was above average Colas for the fourth consecutive year: 5.9% in 2022, 8.7% in 2023, 3.2% in 2024, and 2.5% in 2025.

Based on multiple independent estimates, 2026 Cola needs to make history by reaching or exceeding 2.5% for the fifth consecutive year. The beneficial person was the final 2.5% payments of 10 years of payments, which increased the six-month payment bump of at least 2.5%, from 1988 to 1997, during which time Colas changed between 2.6% and 5.4% per year.

After the release of the inflation report in August, the Senior Citizens League (TSCL), a senior nonpartisan advocacy group, served as the company with a 2026 COLA forecast of 2.7%. Meanwhile, independent Social Security and Medicare policy analyst Mary Johnson has increased her estimate by 2.8% from 10%.

These estimates are subject to change, but the slightest inflationary pressures derived from President Donald Trump’s tariffs and trade policies are expected to keep 2026 COLA at 2.7% or more.

If the TSCL estimates prove accurate, the average retired worker beneficiaries are expected to rise by $54 per month in 2026. For disabled and survivor beneficiaries, the average profit increases by about $43 per month each.

Double Wammy is waiting for many of Social Security’s 70 million beneficiaries in 2026

But while things often look great on paper, the actual application of Social Security’s 2026 Coke is a long way from perfect.

The first problem encountered by older beneficiaries is the expected loss of purchasing power. According to a TSCL analysis released last year, the purchasing power of Social Security Dollar fell 20% from 2010 to 2024.

CPI-W generally does poor work, taking into account the most important costs for older people. This is an inflation index that is responsible for tracking the spending habits of “city wage workers and clerical workers” and is often working-age Americans who do not receive current Social Security benefits. These people spend their money in a very different way than 87% of Social Security Beneficiaries over the age of 62.

On a late 12-month basis, shelters and health services prices are rising at a faster pace than the cola expected by Social Security beneficiaries, based on measurements from the consumer price index of all urban consumers (CPI-U), a measure of inflation similar to CPI-W. As long as these two important spending categories boast higher inflation rates than Social Security Cola, very It is likely that the purchasing power of Social Security income will decrease.

The second part of the double-wammy involves older people who are double-registered in Social Security and traditional Medicare. Most of these dual enrollees have Part B Premium, a Medicare segment responsible for outpatient services, which are automatically deducted from monthly profits.

According to estimates from the Medicare Trustees Report, Part B Premium is expected to increase by 11.5% in 2026 to $206.20 a month. This follows a more modest increase of 5.9% in a row. Most older beneficiaries will see some or all of the cost of living adjustments in 2026 offset by this substantial jump at Medicare Part B Premium.

Sometimes, the moments that make history are not all they are cracked.

Trump teases Tiktok’s deal, young people say “I’ll be very happy”

President Donald Trump has indicated that a contract has been reached to resolve issues with China-based ownership in Tiktok just days before the next ban on social media platforms.

“We’ve also reached a deal for a ‘specific’ company that our country’s youth wanted to save. They will be very happy! ” Trump wrote in a Truth Social Post shortly after 8am on September 15th.

Trump also said he will speak to Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday, September 19th, adding that their relationship is “very strong.”

At a trade conference with Chinese authorities in Madrid, Spain, US trade representative Jamieson Greer said the framework agreement would be to switch apps to US-based ownership on a per-Reuters basis.

“We believe there is an agreement. It’s only subject to leadership approval,” Greer said.

Tiktok faces an uncertain future in the United States, facing a looming ban caused by concerns over data sharing with China. The latest ban deadline, the third extension of Trump, is set to expire on September 17th.

Greer says there is no “repeat expansion” in the ban on Tiktok.

After Trump reached the app’s contract, Greer confirmed on a per Reuters basis that there will be no further extensions to the ban period.

“We’re not going to be a business that’s repeatedly expanding,” Greer said. “We have a deal. If you need an extension just to sign, that’s one thing, but there’s no extension in progress.”

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent said the deal was “between two private parties” and refused to talk about the commercial terms of the transaction, but he said it was “agreed.”

Bessent also said the meeting will focus on Tiktok rather than negotiations.

“We had a very good discussion. We preferred to continue our discussion about Tiktok. We will hold trade negotiations again in another location in about a month,” Bescent said.

Why are there concerns about Tiktok’s ownership?

Some government officials have raised concerns that Tiktok, owned by the Beijing-based company’s ordinance, poses a national security threat due to the possibility of data sharing with China. Tiktok repeatedly denied these claims.

After continuing uncertainty about the future of apps in the US, Tiktok went dark in less than 24 hours in January, under the law signed into law by former President Joe Biden.

Since returning online, Trump has extended the app’s ban three times, with the latest deadline set to expire on September 17th.

For months, Trump has said negotiations to sell Tiktok continues with China.

The FBI will announce a DNA match at the Charlie Kirk investigation. Live Update

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said more information about the motives surrounding Charlie Kirk’s murder will be released this week.

play

Officials were working to establish a clear motive for the killing of Charlie Kirk, the latest act of national political violence, as federal officials faced scrutiny over the investigation and well-known conservative activists paid tribute to commemorate and vigils.

Utah Republican Gov. Spencer Cox told ABC News “this week” that he was allegedly suspected of Tyler Robinson, 22.

Kirk, 31, was fatally shot in the neck while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10th. The killings promoted the fear of a spike in political violence and the constant diading disparity between the left and right.

Robinson was taken into custody after a two-day manhunt after showing his family that he was the attacker. Officials say he is tied to crime.

Cox said in several television appearances that Robinson was “radical,” and that he was completely different to his family and spent a lot of time online after dropping out of college. The governor added that while Robinson lived with a roommate who was transitioning from man to woman, people warned him from jump to conclusions as investigators were still working to stitch together what led to the fatal shooting.

Meanwhile, Kirk’s respect was held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., where dozens of Trump administration officials and Congress gathered to remind us of the founder of Turning Point USA. It was scheduled to continue this week as Vice President JD Vance is planning to host Kirk’s podcasts.

FBI director Kash Patel said the DNA of the driver and towel near the scene of the shooting that killed Charlie Kirk matched the suspect.

Patel announced it on Monday, September 15th, in Fox and Friends.

FBI director Kash Patel will appear on members of Congress this week as he faces criticism for his investigation into Kirk’s assassination investigation.

Patel may face questions about his leadership at the Congressional Surveillance hearings on Tuesday, September 16th and Wednesday, September 17th. Much of the FBI’s criticism is centered on information released shortly after the shooting.

Hours after the murder, Patel takes him to X and declares that the “subject” had been in custody. However, the suspicious shooter remained large and was not taken into custody until members of his family looked back at him.

President Donald Trump expressed his support for Patel over the weekend, telling Fox News, “I am extremely proud of the FBI. Kash and everyone else… did a great job.”

Vice President JD Vance said he will host “The Charlie Kirk Show” on Monday, September 15th as a tribute to his friends and a close political alliance.

“I have the honor of having the Charlie Kirk Show tomorrow. I’m honoring my friends, so join me,” Vance said in X.

Kirk defended Vance as he will become Trump’s running mate ahead of the 2024 presidential election. Last week after the assassination, Vance and his wife, Usha, met with Kirk’s family in Salt Lake City, Utah, and flew with them in Air Force 2 as Kirk’s cas was taken home to Arizona.

Cox said while talking about NBC’s “Meet the Press,” that Robinson had “left ideology” and at one point was “radical.”

The governor said Robinson was not cooperative, but investigators spoke to his family and his roommates. Cox said his roommate “don’t know that this is happening,” which has helped him investigate so far. When asked whether Robinson’s partner was linked to a potential motivation, Cox expressed his caution.

“We’re trying to understand that. Everyone wants to know exactly why and point their fingers. And I fully understand that, too. I will,” he said on CNN’s “Status of Union.” “I just want to be careful because I haven’t read all of the interview transcripts.”

Cox did not elaborate on Robinson’s political views in detail, but provided more information about when Robinson dropped out of college and when he was arrested in connection with the horrifying murder.

The governor said Robinson spent much of his time playing video games online and interacting with people through message boards. He said the suspect was engaged in a “deep, dark internet.”

Vice President JD Vance said he will be holding a Charlie Kirk podcast on September 15, days after a conservative activist was shot dead while speaking at an event held at the University of Utah on September 10th.

“We can honor the Charlie Kirk Show tomorrow. Please pay tribute to our friends and tribute,” Vance wrote in a post on X on Sunday, September 14th.

Kirk, 31, the founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot on September 10 at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

Kirk’s longtime friend Vance escorted the body in Phoenix, Arizona on September 11th with Air Force 2.

How to watch “Charlie Kirk Show”

Vance’s appearance on “The Charlie Kirk Show” is scheduled to air at 12pm on September 15th.

Podcasts can be viewed on Rumble or listened online on Kirk’s website and streaming platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Omny FM.

“The Charlie Kirk Show” is a podcast named after Kirk, and according to the show’s description, he weighed at the current event in a “accidentally conservative and freedom-loving perspective.”

Kirk’s wife, Erica Kirk, gave her public address on September 12th from her husband’s podcast studio. She vowed that Charlie Kirk’s podcast will continue after her death, as well as her college campus tours.

What you need to know about Charlie Kirk’s Friendship, JD Vance

In a long tribute posted to X after Kirk’s death, the vice president said he was a long-time friend the activist first met in 2017.

Kirk was an early supporter of Vance’s 2021 Senate election and introduced the current visiting president to Donald Trump Jr., the Post said.

Vance also said that after Kirk became a vice presidential candidate, he offered “guidance and prayer.”

“Many of the success we had in this administration will trace directly to Charlie’s ability to sort and convene,” writes Vance. “He not only won in 2024, he supported staff across the government.”

On September 11th, Vance missed the 9/11 anniversary event and flew Kirk’s cas and family from Utah to Phoenix. Second Lady Ushavance and Erica Kirk were seen holding hands when they were exhausted.

Everything you think is probably wrong

We’ve all heard of it: 50% of marriages end with divorce. After all, that’s not true.

Divorce has recently become a popular topic in recent conversations as it has changed the champions of certain state legislators, making it difficult to get a disability-free divorce.

People behind the push say that Norfault’s divorce threatens traditional family structures and contributes to rising divorce rates, but data shows that most marriages don’t end with divorce, and the rate has been steadily declining since the 1980s.

It’s all part of the great divorce myth.

“It’s like crime. People tend to assume they’re always going up. Or it’s part of modern life and it’s always worse than ever,” said Philip Cohen, a professor of sociology at the University of Maryland. “That’s not true. The divorce rate is declining.”

Marriages have also been steadily declining, but these marriages appear to be stronger than unions in the past decades, according to data from the National Center for Family Marriage Research at Bowling Green State University.

Susan Brown, co-director of the center, explains this in part by the fact that people are waiting longer for marriage.

“As people wait longer for marriage, they are safer than mature financially and emotionally, which helps to strengthen the stability of the couple,” she said.

“Marriage has become more unusual, but it’s even better.”

The US divorce rate has been declining since it peaked in 1980, according to NCFMR data. Marriage has also declined 54% since 1900.

At that height in 1920, the marriage rate was 92.3 per 1,000 unmarried women. According to NCFMR, it fell to 76.5 women in 1970 and another 31.3 women in 2022.

Research shows that those who are more likely to marry tend to be older, educated and wealthy. Experts say these married couples are unlikely to get divorced due to common stressors such as financial instability.

“Marriages have become more unusual, but better, so the divorce rate has dropped,” Cohen said.

“The Engine of Inequality”

Research shows that marriage is not getting better for everyone.

According to NCFMR, the data shows that the highest divorce rate for 2023 is among high school-level education men and college-educated women.

These groups also became less likely to marry in the first place. The highest first marriage rate was one of the highest educational attainment in 2023, while the lowest first marriage rate was between men and women who were under high school education.

Society places marriage on a “pedestal,” among other “very high expectations,” Brown said, where financial stability is a requirement for “the meaning of having a good marriage.” This partially encouraged the “increasing gap” between marriage and divorce rates.

“We were able to describe marriage in this modern era as an engine of inequality,” she said.

“Grey Divorce”

There is another exception to the trends in marriage and divorce: gray divorce.

Divorce rates have steadily declined in most age groups, but are increasing among men and women over the age of 45. According to NCFMR, the biggest increase in divorce rates is for women over the age of 65, nearly four times higher than 1.4 per 1,000 in 1990 to 5.6 in 2021.

This is the same generation that promoted divorce rates in the 1970s and ’80s, Cohen points out.

“The baby boomer generation has brought us a ‘gray divorce’,” he said. “The group was a real pioneer and brought us the highest divorce rate.”

  • The iconic $1.50 hot dog combo is still a Costco staple, but many other popular foods are limited to Costco’s overseas food courts.
  • Items such as cheeseburgers, fries, and chicken tenders are available in other countries but not in the US
  • The international location offers unique items such as Australian Aussie Steak Pie and Canadian sushi.

Are you craving fries? Chicken bid? Hot coffee? It is not available at Costco Food Court. At least in the US.

Australian Steak Pie at Australian Costco Food Court

Australian Costco members can get an Australian steak pie, made with golden puff pastries filled with thick beef slowly cooked in rich gravy. Costco Food Court also sells mango smoothies and bubble tea, but neither is available at the US Food Court.

Fried chicken is not sold at Costco in the US

The US Costco warehouse sells rotisserie chicken in the Deli section, while the food court does not serve fried chicken. Instead, according to the hill, members should travel to international locations such as Taiwan for buckets of fried chicken.

Costco sushi available at Canadian food courts

Canadian members have discovered California crab rolls on the food court menu, Scripps reports, but sushi has not yet been added to the state food court.

Hot dogs, but no cheeseburgers in the US Costco food court

When served by US Costcourse, the cheeseburger was removed from the menu just a few years later and disappeared by 2020, Mash reported. So far, Reddit users have cited Costco Food Court in Reykjavik, Iceland, and still serve cheeseburgers.

Chicken bids are not on sale

Canada and Australia offer chicken bids in fries and soaked sauces. It’s $8.99 in Australia.

According to the hill, jacketed potatoes, which are very similar to baked potatoes, are only available in the UK.

No hot coffee is poured into food courts in the US

Costco offers several types of cold drink options and plenty of coffee varieties in the grocery corridor, but the food court does not sell hot coffee. However, Costco Food Court sells drinks internationally.

soup

Costco Food Court in Taiwan serves member crumb chowder. Mushroom soup is available at Korean food courts on each hill.

The anniversary of Trump’s assassination attempt comes during the trial of Ryan Rouse

0

A year ago, the country was still upset from the attempted assassination of Donald Trump’s life when Secret Service agents discovered a rifle plunging through the fence at Trump’s Florida golf course.

On September 15, 2024, agents fired at Ryan Rouse, who was accused of plotting to kill Trump while playing golf at a club in West Palm Beach. About two months ago, when he spoke during a Pennsylvania campaign with a shooting that killed one audience member and injured two others, a bullet grazeed Trump’s ears.

The Routh criminal trial was ongoing last week when debates over political violence in America reached a fever pitch following the murder of conservatively influential Charlie Kirk.

Here’s what you need to know about Trump’s second assassination attempt a year later:

Trial for the Suspect Ryan Rouse got off to an extraordinary start

The Ryan Rouse incident has been headed towards surrealism from the start.

With a semi-automatic rifle and a bag of mini sausages found hidden in Trump’s golf course planting, the man accused of planning to kill him fired his lawyer, took the stripper to prison, suggesting a boxing fight with the president instead of trial, and calling his former sexual partner.

The opening statement began on September 11th, the day after conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was shot dead at a Utah campus event. Ruth, representing himself, issued an opening statement about human history and current geopolitical conflicts before the judge finally cut him off. He spoke for about five minutes in total.

“Without the Secret Service, Donald Trump wouldn’t be alive,” U.S. Attorney Advisor John Shipley said at the start of his 45-minute statement to the ju judge.

During the first days of testimony, prosecutors called out one of their main witnesses: a therapist on his way to buy office furniture when he hears gunshots at Trump International Golf Club. Tommy McGee told ju decree he was unable to take a photo of Lous running away into the scene in time, but he wrote down the law enforcement license plate number.

“You’re a man,” Rous told McGee when given the opportunity to cross-examine him. Almost every question and observation was challenged by the prosecutor.

What happened in the September 2024 attempt to assassinate Trump?

On September 15, 2024, authorities thrust a rifle barrel through a fence at the edge of Trump International golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, saying the then presidential candidate was playing golf. A Secret Service agent on the course discovered the weapon and fired at the man who escaped.

At the scene of the obvious assassination attempt, authorities found a rifle, a black backpack, a bag containing ceramic tiles, and a GoPro camera.

Martin County Sheriff’s Office officials stopped Lous about 41 miles from the golf course.

Who is Ryan Rouse?

Ryan Rouse, 59, was the suspect on September 15, 2024, attempted to assassinate Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential election at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

State voting records show that the general lauscasting vote and local government elections, dating back to many cycles, including 2008 and 2012, were not when Trump first ran in 2016. Records suggest that he is not affiliated with the party.

According to the same record, Rouse was recently voted in the March 2024 primary in Guilford County, North Carolina. He voted for Democrats.

Based on his social media posts, Routh appeared to be a passionate supporter of Ukraine in the fight against Russian invasion.

In the spring of 2022, Routh suggested in a series of X posts that he traveled to Ukraine to fight on behalf of the haunted country. For one thing, he tweeted on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s account, saying, “I am an American who comes to fight you in Ukraine. I am flying to Krakow, and I will carry out transport to Kyiv and meet you and fight until I die.

Why was suspect Ryan Rouse charged with?

Routh faces federal accusations including attempted assassination of a presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer and multiple firearm violations. Prosecutors said Rous spent weeks killing Trump before planting himself in a rifle near the golf course.

Routh pleaded not guilty to federal charges and was in custody prior to trial, federal prison records show.

US District Judge Irene Cannon, who will continue to be available as a lawyer appointed attorney in question, has previously approved Routh’s request to represent herself in court.

The second wave of Social Security payments in September will be sent to recipients this week, but as seen in recent payments, those overpaid from the Social Security Administration can get less checks.

Earlier this year, the Social Security Agency (SSA) said it would begin withholding 50% of recipients’ monthly checks to compensate for overpayments issued in past payments.

The agency began issuing overpayment notices in April, saying it would withhold 50% of recipient benefits after about 90 days (or about July 24th, or about July 24th) until the overpayment is repaid.

Here’s what you need to know about Social Security Payments this week:

Who will receive Social Security payments this week?

When will Social Security payments be sent?

Social Security benefits are paid primarily to older or retired recipients, but are usually paid on Wednesdays.

According to the SSA calendar, if the recipient’s birth date is between the first and tenth of the month, a payment will be issued on the second Wednesday of the payment month.

According to the SSA payment calendar, recipients born between the 11th and 20th will be paid on the third Wednesday, while recipients born after the 20th of the month will be paid on the fourth Wednesday.

Those who receive Social Security by May 1997 can expect to pay on the third day of the month, unless they do not pass on weekends or holidays.

Those who receive both Social Security and Supplementary Security Income (SSI) can expect to pay Social Security on the third day of the month and SSI on the first day of the month.

Haitians in Limbo, just as the Trump administration is trying to end visas early

0

Visas will expire soon. Faced with tough choices. You will stay here illegally and return to a dangerous situation or try again in a new country.

play

L. recently received a call from a friend on Friday. She hesitated. She barely ventures anymore.

That night she risked it and shared a slice of cheese pizza and anxious for two hours. Both are Haitian immigrants and are set to expiry their temporary legal status in the United States immediately.

Like many Haitians living in America, L. Neither her friend has yet to decide what to do. Returning to a turbulent 700 miles from Miami, staying illegally in the US or relocating to another country entirely.

L., Those who sought the first first identification due to the risk of early deportation made the pizza shop angry, annoyed and emphasized.

“If my country was fine, we wouldn’t be in this situation,” she thought.

For at least three years, Haitian capital Port-au-Prince has been overrun by armed gangs, with political turmoil spreading across many Caribbean villages and towns. UN officials said the country was “closing a collapse” in July, saying Haitians were facing a national humanitarian crisis.

L., who has been here for two years, is one of more than half a million Haitians in the United States, living legally in offices, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels and factories, under a temporary, protected status that disappears quickly.

“I tell myself, ‘Everything will go well, everything will go well,'” said the 32-year-old office worker. “We live every day…it’s a difficult situation.”

What it means to have a temporary status

The US State Department said it still warns American citizens to leave Haiti due to inducements, crime, terrorist activities, civil unrest and limited health care.

However, the Trump administration said that the situation has improved quite well in Haiti, and temporary programs are no longer needed.

Homeland Security Sec. Kristi Noem ended the TPS effect in Haiti on September 2, but a district court judge ruled that the program must be maintained until at least February 3, 2026.

Noem said in a statement that he would allow Haitians to temporarily “be in opposition to the national interest.”

The TPS programme provides work permits and protection from deportation to residents of disrupted countries due to natural or artificial disasters. This program is usually valid for 18 months or 2 years at a time/DHS often extended protection.

Some Haitians signed up for the program after the 2010 earthquake that devastated the island and killed hundreds of thousands of people. Most recently, Haiti was hit by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in 2021 in the month when President Jovenel Moys was assassinated.

Leaders of the Haitian Caucus House of Representatives argue that the situation in Haiti is unsafe and that the program should extend or extend permanent legal status to families who have been in the United States for years and are now part of the national structure.

“What does it mean to have a temporary position when you are part of the community, shaping your community and making a terrible contribution to culture, civic life and our economy for 30 years,” said Rep. Ayana Presley, a Democrat who co-chairs the Massachusetts and Caucus. These are our neighbors, our colleagues, the people we live in, we work and work together. ”

Rep. Yvette Clark, the chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, called the program changes “very unstable.”

“It had a truly frightening effect on our community as a whole, with the fear of our loved ones being torn apart and being targeted by ice,” said Clark, who has quite a Haitian in the Brooklyn area.

“People aren’t doing well.”

Faith leaders and community activists in Brooklyn and elsewhere have met to discuss ways to help people decide what to do.

“What are they going back to?” asked Yolett Williams, executive director of the Haiti American Alliance in New York, a nonprofit volunteer organization.

Williams, who is also a clinical social worker, said people are turning to her organization for help, and listeners are calling on local radio shows for answers.

“People aren’t doing well,” she said.

In other Haitian communities across the country, activists have lobbyed lawmakers and have supporters with newspaper meetings and prayer vigils.

In Haiti, Haiti, we need to make noise and speak out because it’s really dangerous,” says Fanm Saj, Inc., a Florida organization focused on wellness and community support. said Ruth Jeannoel, founder and director of the company. “We have to reach people’s hearts and hearts.”

Haiti Caucus leaders said part of the challenge is to unite communities of color around this issue.

“This affects everyone,” Rep. Sheila Shellphills McCormick said. In her South Florida area, Hispanic and Black residents are often featured by law enforcement officers.

Some Haitians who live under the TPS have not left home for fear of going to work, church or school, said the activist. Families weigh limited options. Some are considering moving to Canada, which has an asylum process for Haitian refugees.

“People are praying a lot,” Williams said. “People are looking for miracles.”

When the watch is gone, there is a weight option

L. doesn’t want to stay in the US if she is alive and cannot work legally here.

She considered returning to Haiti, but friends and family warned her against it. The gang was found near her hometown.

She considered going north to Canada, but she had to start over, and there is no guarantee that she could secure her legal status there.

It was hard enough to leave Haiti where she still has her family. However, due to the lack of opportunities and the violence there, relatives encouraged her to stay in the US.

“It wasn’t easy…it was tough to leave everything behind, but it was a good move,” she said.

L., We have welcomed people from the African diaspora. Benin was on the list to visit, but she had no intention of making it home.

Few people know her dilemma in her work. She doesn’t talk about her status. It’s so stressful that she meditates every day and stays calm.

I knew the L. program was temporary. But like everyone else, she wanted it to be updated. Now she has a decision to decide.

“I just sit down and hope they update it,” she said. “We need a little more time.”

Krispy Cream ended McDonald’s partnership early this summer

McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme announced the end of the partnership on June 24th.

Earlier this year, the fast food giant began offering three different types of Krispy Cream Treats at around 2,400 McDonald’s locations, including original glass-covered donuts, sprinkled doutsunuts and chocolate ice cream-filled donuts. Unfortunately, the company said the offering was not successful. The donuts stopped being sold from the McDonald’s location on July 2nd.

After saying goodbye, Krispy Kreme plans to prioritize increasing the availability of donuts, but McDonald’s focuses on building a success in the breakfast business.

The best and worst moments of the Emmies, including Stephen Colbert

This is rap, one of the most unpredictable Emmy awards for many years.

And by the time Bargatze announced he and CBS were donating $350,000 at the end of the show, we were tired of the joke hours ago.

Amidst the refreshing changes of the past few years, the TV Academy has largely spread its wealth with its prizes. At just 15 years old, “adolescent” star Owen Cooper became the youngest male Emmy winner in history, with dark horse contenders Britt Lower (“retirement”) and Katherine Lanatha (“Pitt”) winning in the categories of frontrunners Kathy Bates (“Matlock”) and Kerr Kuon (“White Lotts”).

Below are the biggest moments I missed from this year’s Emmy Awards, aired live from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

Stephen Colbert gives a patriotic Emmy speech after CBS cancels “The Late Show”

The venerable late-night host has been riding the waves of tide since CBS made the shocking decision in July to cancel his show just days after the network’s parent company Paramount resolved a lawsuit with the Trump administration.

That goodwill was carried to Emmy, where Colbert was greeted with the chant “Stephen!” And a standing ovation when he introduced “studio” star Seth Rogen to the best comedy actor. He received even more intense applause later in the ceremony when “Late Show” won the Emmy Awards Best Talk Series for the first time. Rather than calling CBS or Trump directly, Colbert went high with his speech.

“Sometimes, when you get the feeling that you might lose it, you just really know how much you love something,” he said. Ten years after starting his show, he said, “I have never loved my country more desperately. I will bless God’s blessings. Be strong, brave, and if the elevator is trying to defeat you, be engrossed and punch the higher floor!”

“Hacking” star Hanna Einbinder falls asleep on anti-ice, pro-Palestinian speech

Four seasons later, Einbinder finally won her first support actress, Emmy, playing an impulsive headwriter in Jan Smart’s easy comic in “Hacking.”

“Thank you, amazing,” Ainbinder began. “I was really committed to the personal story of actually keeping losing, it’s actually cool. I was pretty committed to that. But this is cool too. Punk rock!”

Einbinder wrapped her speech with a message to her favorite NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles. The young star, dressed in the red ceasefire pin, was sleeping for her sharp political statement.

Thank you Tramell Tillman and make history by winning “retirement”

Tillman earned the best support actor in the drama as the first black man in the show’s 77-year history. Tillman, who plays Milchick on the Apple TV+ series, used his speech to pay tribute to his mother, who watched tearfully from the audience.

“My first acting coach was tough, everything, but all great mothers do,” Tillman said in agony. “Mom, when you were no one else, you were there for me, and no one else appeared. Your loving kindness will stay with me, and this is for you.”

surprise! Jeff Hiller defeated Harrison Ford for the best supporting actor in comedy

A critically beloved but rarely seen star of “someone somewhere” by HBO, Hiller defeated a group of star-studded actors in his categories, including Ford (“Shrinkage”), Colman Domingo (“Four Seasons”), Bowen Yang (“Saturday Night Live”) and Evon Moss Backlach (“Bear”).

“I feel like I’m going to cry because for the last 25 years, ‘The world, I want to be an actor!’ and the world was like ‘maybe a computer’,” Hiller joked on stage.

The comedy veteran expressed his gratitude to her husband and hilariously thanked HBO for putting up a show about middle-aged people who sweated in the same network as sexy teens from Euphoria. ”

Reunion of “Gilmore Girls” Leva Mantea pays homage to “Golden Girls”

Alexis Bledell and “Gilmore Girls” mother-daughter duo Lauren Graham reunite in a mock-up of the characters’ homes in Stars Hollow, Connecticut. “Twenty-five years ago, a show called “Gilmore Girls” premiered, and it was clearly fall hostage season,” Graham joked. But despite the series’ fall domination, they confessed that it actually has a very small budget.

“If we had a birthday at the ‘Drew Carry Show’ next door, they sent us the rest of the sheet cake,” Graham said. Bledel agreed: “We looked hungry.” Furthermore, they “saved all year round to have one snow episode.”

Early on the show, Mcentire took to the stage with Little Big Town members Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman sing the theme song for “Golden Girls.” The toe tapping performance was worth it with only the hilarious reaction shots bopping along the seats with celebrity Sarah Paulson, Michael Urier, Janelle James and Colin Farrell Belting.

“Penguin star Christine Milioti wrote a speech on the back of her treatment notes.

The Grammy and Tony winners are one step closer to EGOT status thanks to the Emmy-winning portrayal of villain Sofia Falcone in the “Batman” spinoff series “The Penguin.” The actress was escorted to the stage by her co-star Colin Farrell and was clearly overwhelmed by her victory.

“I wrote this on the back of a memo I took during therapy the other day, so please don’t look behind me,” Milioti said with breath. “It’s very hard to understand that I’m living in this world right now, so I’m deeply grateful for the bright spot.” The DC Comics show “feels so frightening and felt like flying.”

Unsettled by Bargatze’s donation clock, Milioti sprinted through the list of names, threw his head back and screamed.

Can I still buy a new American sedan in 2026?

Many sedans are still on sale in the US, but few are from American automakers.

Sedan sales have declined over the years as the general public is obsessed with crossovers, SUVs and pickup trucks. Most American car companies have retreated from sedans to concentrate on SUVs and trucks.

The term sedan is used to identify a vehicle with four doors and can seat at least four passengers. Thus, two- or four-seat, two-door cars like the Chevrolet Corvette or Ford Mustang do not qualify as a sedan. They are considered coupes.

Most new sedans to be sold come from Japan, Korea, Germany or Italy, but there are still few American sedans available to buy. Some foreign automakers build cars on US soil, so Americans make them, but not American automakers. This is the last remaining American car manufacturer sedan to be purchased in the 2026 model year.

Cadillac CT4

The CT4 is an entry-level Cadillac vehicle. It offers luxury and is decent sporty. It’s available at a low price of as much as $35,600. If you want to take your performance to the next level, consider the CT4-V or CT4-V Blackwing.

Cadillac CT5

CT4’s Big Brother, CT5, helps to float the Cadillac sedan lineup. It offers more interior space, cargo space and can be added with the option with a V8 engine with a CT5-V black wing.

Cadillac Celestiq

For those who have enough money to buy everything in a Cadillac showroom, Celestik may catch your eye. The car starts north at $400,000 and is being sold to an audience that is completely different from the rest of the cars Cadillac makes. The brand needs DNA that is known to it and cranks to the level to compete with Rolls-Royce Ghost and Bentley Flying Spur.

Dodge Charger

Current Dodge chargers can be purchased as a two-door coupe or a four-door sedan. You can also choose between a fully electric Daytona EV and a 6-pack that uses the i6 hurricane engine. The new generation of chargers may not have as much muscle and sound as they were in the previous era, but they are not leaning forward for performance.

Clear air

Lucids have not been on the road for a very long time, but with the short lifespan of EVs, they have been making waves. The air has a gorgeous interior and is very fast, but the most interesting thing about the car might be the range.

The cheapest trim, the Air Pure, has an estimated range of 420 miles, while the Grand Touring trim is estimated to reach 512 miles. For drivers who do not respect speed limits, the Air Sapphire has 1,234 horsepower and can reach 0-60 in just 1.89 seconds.

Tesla Model 3

Entry-level Tesla offers a lot of value for its price. Now starting at $34,490, it offers comfort and speed with a ton of technology. If the base model 3 is not fast enough, the performance variant must be large enough.

Tesla Models

Still, CyberTruck may be running for that money for the right or wrong reasons, but it is still Tesla’s flagship. They are bigger and offer much more performance than the Model 3, but cost significantly more at a starting price of $94,990.

If you’re interested in sedans from American car companies, you may need to act quickly because there’s not much variety.
