Noah Lyles is no longer the fastest man in the world.

Jamaica’s diagonal Seville shocked Sprint Field to win the men’s 100 at the 2025 World Championships.

Seville got off to a good start and was finally pulled away to win the race in a personal time of 9.77.

Jamaican Kishan Thompson finished second with a 9.82. Lyles’ 9.89 time was third most adequate.

Lyles had a dramatic photo finish on Thompson at the 100 Olympics in Paris. The two were favorites to enter the finals of the World Championships. However, Seville stole the show.

Lyles took part in this year’s Championship as a six-time world champion. He doubled his sprint at the 2023 World Athletics Championships.

Lyles is scheduled to run the 200 on Wednesday. 200 is a specialized event. His season-high 19.63 is the top 200 in the world this year.

Lyles is one of the top USA Today Sports athletes who have been watching at the 2025 World Athletics Championships.
