Is your teen ready for adulthood? How to tell them about money

0

play

When Samantha Broxton’s husband was fired, the couple sat down with teenagers to discuss how household budgets would change.

Broxton said the layoffs came unexpectedly in early 2025. President Donald Trump unlocked tariffs on most US trading partners, fears of a recession looming, and businesses were slowing down employment.

Broxton said teens may eat out less and have more conversations about money.

“Even though both of us quickly found great jobs, the world has changed dramatically,” said Broxton, founder of Informaiton and Raisingself.com, a parenting platform dedicated to Informaiton and coaching.

The Broxton family’s conversations show that financial stumbling can change at the moment they are taught – something that many parents need more of their children.

In a recent survey of 1,000 parents of children aged 14 to 18, only 8% of teenagers thought they were “very prepared” to manage their adult finances. This shows a 10-point drop from last year, when 18% reported the same.

Danielle Sherman, CEO and founder of Wired Research, who conducted the survey on behalf of JazMarc Services, said decline makes sense in the current US economic situation while hoping for increased confidence.

“If they feel confident in shaking their preparations or navigating this climate, they naturally continue to be less certain about how well their teens are prepared,” Sherman said.

I don’t have a family to talk about money

The survey said 82% of parents talk about savings with teens, but about seven in 10 people said they were unsure that they were teaching their children what they need to know about money.

Approximately half of survey respondents admitted they had not spoken with teens about sticking to their budgets, managing their bank accounts, avoiding debts, or building good credit.

The majority also said they had not had any meaningful conversations with teens about insurance choices, tax returns filing, investments, financial planning, or goal setting.

Still, 98% of parents surveyed believe it is their responsibility to teach their children how to manage their finances, and 97% believe it is one of the biggest gifts they can give to their children.

Even if you’re not rich, talk to your kids about money

Sherman recommends explaining that parents explained whether budgeting or lack of such a budget has led to bank accounts and whether they have fallen into debt, and how those decisions will affect next month.

“It needs to be normalized,” Sherman said. “These aren’t easy conversations, but they may help keep your teens from falling into the same financial cycle.”

Broxton said her teens were a little nervous after telling them about the layoffs, but she was delighted to be able to reassure her parents that they were effectively budgeting and looking for new job opportunities.

“Your kids will notice changes in your behavior, your pauses, your ‘no’,” Broxton said. “Not talking about it makes them suspicious and uneasy.”

How to teach teens about money

Broxton splits the allowances into children once a month, budgeting a few weeks at a time, and urges them to put their money aside in their savings account.

She also watches her children save for the purchase of splurges. Some lessons learned best from first-hand experience, Broxton said.

“They’re saving your money, buying things and seeing those savings go away. They said, ‘The money’s gone,'” Broxton said. “They have a psychological journey that they can safely experience with their parents without that material risk to their safety and livelihood.”

Josh Marcus, founder of Jazmarc Services, said in addition to teaching the value of the dollar, the first part-time job for teenagers offers the opportunity to teach about taxes.

“In my son’s first job, he was all excited to get his first paycheck, and he stood there staring at it and I could see the confused expression on his face,” Marcus said. “Learn the deductions and numbers and understand the difference between gross wages and what you actually put in your pocket.”

Marcus and Sherman suggested showing the cost of dinner to the teenagers when the bill arrives at the restaurant, or sharing how long it took them to save for family vacations.

“Find moments that you can teach,” Sherman said. It is woven into everyday life. If you can start doing something small just by itself, you are already 10 steps ahead. ”

State Trump’s approval ratings show rankings for Tennessee, Illinois

0

President Donald Trump announced on September 12 that he would next send the National Guard to Memphis in his criminal crackdown.

Trump deployed the National Guard in Washington, D.C. in early August, saying that crime needs to be curbed despite the fact that it has already declined this year. He has special authority to deploy security guards to DC, as opposed to the states where the governor oversees normal deployments.

Over the next few weeks he messed around sending troops to Chicago, portraying them like a crime-plagued “hole of hell.” However, he stopped short as Illinois Governor JB Pretzker strongly opposed the idea of unfolding. Instead, Trump said the Tennessee governor welcomed the help.

“The mayor is happy… the governor is happy,” Trump told Fox News “Fox & Friends.” “I’m going to fix it like Washington because it’s so deeply bothered me. I’d prefer to go to Chicago.”

What states give Trump the highest approval rating?

Trump has received positive approval ratings in 25 states, according to Morning Consulting. It has garnered three months of polls to look at state-level data among registered voters. The September 5th update brings two states with a net positive approval rating than the August morning consulting report. North Carolina and Nevada are two states that have flipped since last month’s update to give Trump a net-negative approval rating.

Georgia is the only 2024 swing state that he has received a positive approval rating, according to Morning Consulting, which is known to be broken in Arizona.

In Tennessee, where Trump says he will deploy the National Guard next, Morning Consult says 58% of voters approve his job performance compared to his sixth rating, 38%. In Illinois, 41% of voters approved his job performance, while 55% of voters disapprove him as his 11th worst, morning consultations were found.

The overall approval rating for Trump morning consulting from a survey of 2,201 registered US voters from September 6th to 8th.

What is Trump’s overall approval?

A RealClearpolitics poll shows that Trump’s approval rates have become more negative throughout the first few weeks of July support it towards the end of the month, and it has been pretty stable last month. Aggregated polls by the New York Times show similar trends.

As of January 27th, Trump received a +6.2 percentage points approval rating, but as of March 13th, it reversed slightly negatively, and there is no show for RealClearpolitics graphics. Approval rating reached the most negative on April 29th, at -7.2% points. This fell around Trump’s 100 Day mark. The debate over Jeffrey Epstein was carried into week three, and again approached that low on July 22nd and 23rd at -7.1 percentage points.

According to RealClearpolitics, his average approval margin as of September 12 is -5.5 percentage points. According to a New York Times aggregator on September 12th, the approval margin is -8 percent points.

Trump’s approval rating is lower than other presidents

Gallup’s historical analysis shows that his approval rating in Trump’s first few years of office – both the 45th and the 47th presidents are lower in the administration at the same time than any other modern president.

A Gallup poll conducted on August 1-20 approved 40% of Trump’s job performance. According to Gallup, here is how it is compared to other presidents in August of the first year of his term:

  • Joe Biden (August 2021) – 49% approval
  • Trump (August 2017) – 36% approval
  • Barack Obama (August 2009) – 53% approval
  • George W. Bush (August 2001) – 56% approval
  • Bill Clinton (August 1993) – 44% approval
  • George HW Bush (August 1989) – 69% approval
  • Ronald Reagan (August 1981) – 60% approval

The Fed hopes to cut interest rates. How much will you cut?

0

Although inflation exceeds the Fed’s 2% target, economists hope to cut interest rates this September to address the weakening of the labour market.

play

After nine months of stabilizing key interest rates, the Federal Reserve is widely expected to announce interest rate cuts after a two-day meeting in September.

The central bank’s decision, announced on September 17, continues at a lower price by Jerome Powell, chairman of President Donald Trump’s Browbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeebbeeb Calling Trump’s name couldn’t shake the Fed, but a series of disappointing job market reports may have been enough to ultimately do the trick.

“The fourth month of employment performance has marked a dramatic slowdown in employment, fully supporting the Fed’s launch rate reductions at the next meeting,” said Kathy Boss Jansick, the national chief economist, in a memo on September 5th.

The “real question now” is how many rate reductions will continue.

Why does the Fed want to cut interest rates?

The Fed is tasked with maintaining maximum employment and low inflation.

When the labor market is weak, reducing interest rates can reduce borrowing costs for businesses and consumers, juice the economy and promote employment. When consumer prices skyrocket, central banks will raise prices to cool economic activity and facilitate inflation.

The dilemma the Fed faces this year is that tariffs are both expected to curb growth and raise consumer prices, and the central bank has been torn between dual missions.

Why is the Fed expected to cut fees now?

The US economy added just 22,000 jobs in August as businesses tackle new trade, immigration and federal layoff policies, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Unemployment rates rose to the highest level since October 2021, and the revision reveals that the US will cut 13,000 jobs in June, the first month of unemployment since December 2020.

The findings follow the unfortunate July report, revealing dramatic downward revisions for employment benefits in May and June. Powell signaled that the Fed was open to rate cuts shortly after the report was released.

Another report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, issued on September 9, shows that previously estimated companies employed nearly 1 million workers in the 12-month period that ended in March than previously estimated, according to a memo from Sal Guatieri, senior economist at BMO Capital Markets.

But isn’t inflation still high?

Although inflation rates exceed the Fed’s 2% target, inflation numbers in August may not have been high enough to prevent the Fed from cutting.

According to the Labor Bureau, consumer prices accelerated modestly at 2.9% in August, while core inflation ruled out more volatile categories such as food and energy, but remained stable at 3.1%.

The rise in unemployed claims that “covers the importance of the inflation report,” and “emphasizes the labour market is losing steam and strengthens the need for the Fed to begin cutting rates,” Boss Jansik said in a recent memo, adding that September is likely to mark the start of a string of interest rate cuts.

Why is the Fed stable?

The Fed has been reluctant to cut fees since late 2024, opting instead for a “waiting” approach, analyzing how Trump’s tariffs affect consumer prices.

Powell in August said the impact of tariffs on prices is “now clearly visible,” but a “rational basic case” means it leads to one-off price bumps with relatively short-lived effects. Meanwhile, he warned that the risk of employment drawbacks is increasing.

“In the short term, the risks to inflation are leaning upside down and the risks to employment are challenging,” he said in a speech at Jackson Hole, Wyoming. “When our goals are so tense, our framework calls for a balance on both sides of our dual mission.”

Will the Fed cut interest rates in September?

Investors are betting on interest rate cuts this month. CME’s FedWatch tool suggests that as of Friday there is a 25 basis point reduction (0.25 percent points), and a 0.5 percent point cut of about 92% and 8% chance. The Fed’s main interest rates currently range from 4.25% to 4.5%.

Unless Fed officials believe the economy is heading into a recession without aggressive interest rate cuts in September, “the possibility of a 50 bp (base) cut in September could be off the table,” Raymond James chief economist Eugenio Aleman said in a memo.

According to a memo from JP Morgan economist Michael Felolli, some Fed officials may push for more aggressive cuts at their September meeting. Republican federal governors Christopher Waller and Michelle Bowman opposed the cuts in July, potentially opposed a 0.5 percent point cut. According to Ferroli, Stephen Milan, who appears to have been confirmed by the Senate before the meeting, could also oppose the bigger cuts.

“It also said that the region’s federal president or two “two” could vote without changing policy rates,” said Matthew Lutzetti, research economist at Deutsche Bank.

“This decision is unlikely to be unanimous,” Lutzetti said in a memo. “Depending on the outcome, it could be the first meeting since 1988 to challenge on both sides since September 2019.”

How many times will the Fed be cut this year?

Many economists expect a 0.25 percentage points cut in September, but it’s clear which cuts will continue.

The Fed fund futures market is betting on three interest rate cuts in 2025, but economists are split over whether they will announce two or three cuts this year.

Overall, the median respondents in the recent Bloomberg survey predicts two interest rate cuts by the end of the year, with economists splitting whether a second cut will occur in October or December. Over 40% of economists expect three.

Will Lisa cook attend the Fed meeting?

It remains to be seen whether federal Gov. Lisa Cook will play a role in the Central Bank’s September meeting.

A federal judge on September 9th ordered Cook to continue her work with the Fed as she fights Trump’s attempt to fire her in court despite the ruling being challenged.

The Trump administration has argued that Cook commits mortgage fraud before joining the Fed, allowing the president to fire cooks “for a cause.” Cook denied fraud and claims that dismissal is illegal.

Trump’s unprecedented move in Fire Cook – the first black woman on the Fed’s board – raised concerns about central bank independence from politics. Trump called for the Fed to make aggressive rate cuts, and in August he said he hopes the majority of its board’s appointees will soon cut interest rates.

Cook’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, argued that firing Cook would “have a risk to the stability of our financial system.”

The Justice Department asked the Court of Appeals to suspend an order temporarily blocking the removal of Cook, requesting a decision by the end of the business day of September 15, just before the two-day Fed meeting began on September 16th.

Why aren’t hydrogen-powered cars caught?

0

play

The world’s first internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle is equipped with hydrogen rather than gasoline.

Back in 1807, François Isaac de Rivas used hydrogen-filled barons to power an engine that he developed to propel his experimental vehicles. The first electric cars did not appear through the Flocken Elektrowagen until 1888. And a year later, when Ludwig Mond and Carl Langer demonstrated and patented the technology in 1889, the foundations of the latest hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (HFCV) arrived.

So, although hydrogen-powered vehicles were theoretically the first to come, the pioneering isn’t necessarily the ultimate final, and after more than a century of passenger cars have grown around the world, HFCVs are lagging behind gas and battery electric vehicles (BEVs). HFCV is primarily regulated by research projects such as projects GM’s 1966 electrovan is widely considered to be the first modern HFCV ever produced. However, some automakers are trying to make HFCV viable despite significant barriers, including a serious shortage of fuel infrastructure, rising prices for vehicles and fuel, and competition with the wave of fuel-fueled electric vehicles, which is more easily priced and richer.

Only available 3 passenger HFCVs

BEV has actually surpassed its petrol fuel rivals With popularity and performance in the early horseless carriage era, and over the past decade, they have emerged again to challenge the dominance of ice cars, allowing dozens of models available from traditional car companies and EV-only startups. By comparison, only three passenger HFCVs are available in the US at present. Toyota Mirai, Hyundai Nexo and Honda CR-V E: FCEV – And everything is sold exclusively in California. The state is a large part of public hydrogen fueling stations.

Other car manufacturers have also tested HFCVs and produced them in a limited number. General Motors has been developing HFCV since 2017-2023 BMW has launched road tests for the fleet of IX5 hydrogen vehicles It uses Toyota Technology. Since 2021, Jaguar Land Rover has experimented with the HFCV concept based on the Land Rover Defender, Ineos Grenadierwith a retro Land Rover defender looking Equipped with an HFCV powertrain The company said it could be produced within two years. 2022, Volkswagen partnered with Craft Worktube to create a new hydrogen fuel cell technology It is said that production is cheap and in theory it can offer a driving range of over 1,200 miles, but has since become quiet on the front of the HFCV. Other automakers, including Mercedes-Benz and more recently Stellantis, have pulled out plugs in their HFCV development program.

While a small number of carmakers continue to put their money into technology, HFCV faces a difficult battle for widespread adoption in the US passenger car market. “Core technology is considered mature, but as most components reach high levels of preparation, there remains a significant barrier, especially in cost and infrastructure. ”

A major lack of fuel infrastructure

Perhaps the biggest obstacle to widespread adoption of HFCVs is the strict and limited public fuel infrastructure. It’s the same Problems that plagued early BEVsbut public Charging has increased significantly In addition to increasing vehicle sales, drivers can charge electric vehicles at home. As of June 2025, There are around 74,000 public charging stations online in the United States, most of which compare with over 50 hydrogen fueling stations in California.

Early 2024, Shell announces that it will close seven hydrogen stations in CaliforniaNot only is it a blow to HFCV owners and automakers, but it is also a California-based non-profit hydrogen fuel cell partnership that automakers, fuel providers and government agencies have been established to increase fuel infrastructure. “The idea was to coordinate the OEM efforts with fuel providers,” said Ivor John, hydrogen fuel consultant. After its initial success in California, the program began rolling out nationwide. “When bringing government agencies with OEMs and different providers, the dynamics are very different in each state, so they stumbled.”

According to Sergey Paltsev, a senior research scientist at the MIT Energy Initiative, the challenges of building hydrogen fuel infrastructure include the high costs of hydrogen production, transportation and storage. “To gain traction with consumers, these costs need to be dramatically reduced, or there will be sudden issues with internal combustion engines and electric vehicles, making these established options unattractive,” Paltsev said. “To acquire consumer preferences, hydrogen vehicles come a long way in terms of reducing vehicle and fuel costs.”

As with public EV chargers, HFCV stations are not always operational and available, and these stations require hydrogen to be produced, compacted and delivered, allowing you to potentially add time to refuel. In June 2019, HFCV owners in the San Francisco Bay Area learned how vulnerable the retail hydrogen infrastructure was when an explosion at a chemical plant in the area caused a severe shortage of fuel supply stations. Bay Area HFCV drivers were able to check online reports to access the fuel supply station and fill the tanks, while Toyota and Honda provided free car rentals to affected HFCV owners.

Votortrend has experienced something similar, if not so volatile. Hydrogen fuel polyps Between us Toyota Mirai’s long-term test in 2021. And it’s only gotten worse: early 2025, hundreds California HFCV owners united to sue the automaker and the stateclaiming that they were given false information about the availability of fuel.

High hydrogen fuel prices

In addition to limited availability, HFCVs can be costly to operate compared to charging BEVs or filling tanks with gasoline. Over the year with Mirai in 2021, the prices of hydrogen sold per kilogram (kg) have been relatively stable, with the stations visited being charged between $13.14 and $18.69 per kg. Topping a 5.5kg tank of quarterfull to Mirai usually costs between $45 and $50.

I drove 13,882 miles of Mirai and spent $2,996.37 on hydrogen, which averaged around 21.7 cents/mile. In comparison, we 2020 Hyundai Sonata After driving 17,000 miles, I used $2,746.91 worth of gasoline and paid an average of $3.89 per gallon, or about 16.1 cents/mile. All new Mirai came with a $15,000 prepaid fuel card that works on all hydrogen stations, so there was no need to pay for hydrogen from your pocket. Honda and Hyundai also provide free hydrogen fuel for buyers and borrowers for a limited period of time. If they had to pay after the fuel Freeby ended, they paid more in 2023, as they increased the price from a cost of 13.14/kg for less than three years to 36/kg with True Zero, California’s largest hydrogen supplier.

HFCV costs more

In addition to paying more for the fuel itself, HFCVs are on average higher than their BEV and ICE counterparts. “The cost gap between HFCV and BEV continues to undermine the viability of the former,” Liu said. For example, the 2025 Honda CR-V E:FCEV was developed in collaboration with GM and can be plugged in and charged using the 17.7-KW Battery to provide an additional 29 miles of range over the 241 miles that the fuel cell offers. It starts at $50,000 and ranges in total for 270 miles. 2026 CR-V Hybrid Starting at $35,630, the maximum gasoline/electric range is 590 miles; 2025 Honda Prologue BevAlso, the GM and coded EPA rating range is 308 miles, starting at $47,400.

With the increased availability of BEVs, HFCVs are further decreasing their competitiveness in terms of price. “We’ve seen considerable competition in the electric car market with regard to the various car manufacturers and the models they offer,” says Paltsev of MIT. “It puts downward pressure on the prices of electric vehicles. Therefore, the cost gap between EVs and FCVs is increasing rather than narrowing.” HFCVs are not only overtaken by BEVs, but also face increasing competition with increasing supply of plug-in hybrids, range-extended vehicles and used BEVs.

Sturdy hydrogen-powered vehicle

However, everything is not lost on the front of the hydrogen output. For automakers that cater to their transportation needs beyond passenger cars, HFCV has more practical applications in the rugged and commercial vehicle sector. “In the commercial vehicle space, there is a more diverse refueling strategy emerging, from fast charging and battery replacements to hydrogen fuel cells,” said Omdia’s Li. Toyota, Hyundai and other automakers are working with heavy truck manufacturers and other stakeholders to bring HFCV technology to the logistics industry.

“Both Korea and Japan fit that well,” John said of the promise of commercial use. “There’s no doubt that hydrogen is suitable for a Class 8 semitoctor trailer that can refuel your vehicle in 10-15 minutes.” In addition to its fast refueling times, the HFCV Semis also doesn’t have to carry a large amount of batteries that reduce the maximum cargo capacity and range of the BEV Big Rig. Also, the HFCV makes more sense for a sturdy truck than a passenger car. This is because infrastructure needs to be installed in private depots to stop loading and unloading. Second, more hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles will help promote more public fuel options.

“The expansion of the highway-based hydrogen station could theoretically support fuel cell passenger cars,” Liu said. “However, the use of these stations could be dominated by heavy-duty trucks, not passenger cars.” However, even if this scenario unfolds perfectly, Paltsev believes it will be a long way to the future.

Living in the present future of hydrogen

John is living in the future of hydrogen right now. He is in his second Toyota Mirai, where he has been driving a hydrogen-powered car for about nine years. Of course, it helps to have a hydrogen station about a mile from my home in Santa Barbara, California. He said he couldn’t refuel just twice when he had to go once within a few hours after returning the next day. “I have a reliable five-minute fuel and can drive around 400 miles in Mirai. As long as I know where the next station is, range concerns aren’t the problem,” John said.

However, given Mirai’s limitations, it is not his only mode of transportation. He owns a Nissan Leaf I recently bought it for around town Toyota RAV4 Prime Plug-in Hybrid For longer trips. “I love Battery Electric for this. The hydrogen vehicle for that, the Rav4 plugin has a 42-mile electrical range. When you go on a trip, you don’t have to worry about finding a charging station,” he said.

It’s hard to imagine HFCV passenger cars being more than the current novelty for a foreseeable future, but John sees opportunities still for the powertrain, especially in the heavy-duty vehicle space mentioned above. “Toyota is very committed to using hydrogen to develop large amounts of vehicle opportunities,” John said. “But I’m not excluding hydrogen vehicles that are coming back as lightweight alternatives. I think we should see where we go.”

Local Ohio State Assemblyman says he and his family are hiding in the advice of federal officials after he and his family pose more than 500 threats in his Facebook post criticizing Charlie Kirk.

John Impellizzeri told the USA Today Network’s Akron Beacon Journal that he feared his life after his post was shared nationwide by “Tiktok’s Libs” and other right-wing groups following the assassination of a conservative leader.

The threat escalated after it was shared on September 12th on X by Stephen Miller, the Trump administration’s Chief of Policy Staff Director.

“I’m physically hidden for fear of my life,” Imperizeli said. “The police station is receiving death threats.”

A member of the Munro Falls Police Department told the Beacon Journal that the department is not under threat and is unaware of the threat to the city. Police representatives refused to provide his name or position.

Although Impellizzeri’s Facebook account has since been deactivated, screenshots of the posts have been widely circulated on social media.

In the post, Imperizeli questions why the “right” who “want blood” and “right wing” did not speak out after Kirk’s death after the attack on the Democrats. The post ends with the statement, “Now that he is gone, the world is a better place.”

What did Imperizeli say about his post, the assassination of Charlie Kirk?

Impellizzeri said that while he was meant to criticize what Kirk said in his lifetime, he was not intended to tolerate Kirk’s murder. He added that while the bottom of his post is widely shared, the section consists only of the “third” of the post.

He said he deactivated his Facebook account and could not share the rest of the post with the Beacon Journal.

“I’m not celebrating his death,” Imperizeli said. “I never have — I never will.”

Impellizzeri said he was “100%” for violence.

“The assassination of Charlie Kirk was horrifying,” he said. “…It was murder. It was completely unacceptable.”

Impellizzeri said that Kirk is not a “good person”, but he simply states his view that he does not tolerate murder. He said he hopes the shooter will be charged.

Authorities arrested and arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson as suspect in the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

“There are a lot of left-wing nut jobs celebrating his death. …I’m not one of them,” Imperizeli said.

Kirk supporters and Munro Falls community members are critical of Imperizeli

Social media denounces the wide range of afferizzeri in the distance and calls for his resignation.

Post from the Facebook group “Stow/Munroe Falls Talk of the Town!” “For those who live in Munroe Falls and are as frightening as the post about John Imperitellis’ Charlie Kirk, the Council’s meetings are the first and third Tuesday of the month. He is the current Councillor of Munroe Falls:/”

“He needs to resign,” Tiktok’s right-winger Libs posted on X.

A Facebook post by a woman with nearly 400,000 followers on her page includes the same statement as Libs on the Tiktok Post to post right-wing content. According to her page, she lives in Atlanta.

The Facebook group, “The World’s Largest Trump Support Group,” states that the phone number is listed on the Impellizzeri page on the Munroe Falls City website.

The Trump Support Group post shared a screenshot of Miller’s X Post. This stated, “we have never even started to address the fact that a large part of our society is completely and dangerously radicalised by a closed circuit of fundamental left propaganda.”

Impellizzeri claims more threats to cities, communities

Impellizzeri also said the Munroe Falls Fire Department and other community members are under threat from those who claim he has directly threatened community members.

“They went to the city centre and took pictures of the buildings, facilities and capabilities,” Imperizeli said. “When people confronted these photographers, all they say is, ‘You’re next’ and leave. ”

Munro Taki city receptionist said requests for additional comments to city hall, police station and fire stations must go to city representatives who are not available until September 15th.

Impellizzeri said he didn’t know how long he was hiding.

He said he had not slept within 36 hours due to the threat he endured.

London police and protesters 110K joins anti-immigration protests

0

London’s metropolitan police said about 110,000 people participated in the “Kingdom Unity” march hosted by anti-immigrant activist Tommy Robinson.

play

LONDON, Sept. 13 (Reuters) – More than 100,000 protesters marched through central London on Saturday, raising British and British flags and brawling police in one of Britain’s biggest right-wing modern demonstrations.

London Metropolitan Police said the “Redicine Unity” march, hosted by anti-immigrant activist Tommy Robinson, was attended by around 110,000 people who were separated from the “racist opposition” candidates, with around 5,000 people present.

Police seem to be taken astounded by the size of the voter turnout, explaining the rally as “too big to fit in Whitehall,” a wide street lined with government buildings on the approved route of the march.

Police, who attempted to turn from routes, faced “unacceptable violence,” the force said, and officers were facing bottles, flares and other projectiles that were kicked, punched and thrown at them.

Police said 26 officers were injured and four were seriously injured.

There were a total of 25 arrests, and the unit said it was “just starting.”

“We are identifying people involved in this disorder and can hope to face robust police action in the coming days and weeks,” Deputy Director Matt Twist said.

The march was the culmination of a highly recharged summer in Britain, including protests performed outside immigrant housing. Protesters carried British Union flags and English red and white St. George crosses, others carried American and Israeli flags, and wore US President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great” or Maga Hats. They were carrying placards with people chanting critical slogans of Kiel’s Prime Minister starmer and saying, “Please send me home.” Some participants brought children.

“We believe in Tommy.”

“Today is a spark of British cultural revolution, and this is our moment,” Robinson said in a speech to supporters, saying he showed a “tide of patriotism.”

In a video link to the rally, American billionaire Elon Musk, who intervened in British politics to support Robinson and other far-right figures, called for a change in the UK government. He said he was scared of the British public exercising their freedom of speech.

Robinson is his real name, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, and describes himself as a journalist exposing state misconduct. Reform Britain, the UK’s largest anti-immigrant party, has put the top opinion polls in recent months, but has maintained a distance from several criminal convictions Robinson.

“We want to get our country back, and we want to get free speech back on track,” said supporter Sandra Mitchell, who will be attending the rally.

“They need to stop illegal migration to this country,” she said. “We believe in Tommy.”

In opposition, teacher Ben Hetchin said:

Police said more than 1,600 officers were deployed to London on Saturday, including 500 people brought from other units. In addition to the police in two demonstrations, the London troops were stretched by prominent football matches and concerts.

As the country faces record numbers of asylum claims, immigration has become the dominant political issue in the UK, overturning economic concerns. Over 28,000 migrants have so far arrived at small boats across the channel this year.

Red and white English flags multiply along the streets and are painted on the roads. Supporters call it a voluntary campaign of public pride, but anti-racist activists see a message of hostility towards foreigners.

Clemson will be the winners and losers of college football in the third week

0

play

  • Clemson’s No. 11 defeat to Georgia Tech is a new low for the team and is now considered one of the most disappointing in the country.
  • Georgia’s overtime victory over Tennessee remains questionable about their defense, but keeps them at the top of the SEC.
  • Several quarterbacks, including Michigan’s Bryce Underwood and Texas’ Archmanning, had remarkable performances with mixed results.

This is the 11th Clemson rock bottom. However, for now only.

Saturday’s 24-21 loss to Georgia Tech will drop the Tigers to another level. The loss to the Yellow Jackets on a 17-10 loss to No. 4 LSU and a sloppy 27-16 victory over Troy last weekend, the Tigers don’t portray as another unfortunate team. This is the most disappointing college football team in the bowl section ahead of other candidates for distinction such as Kansas, UCLA and more.

Another terrible start sets the tone. Clock Tuting Drive, which ended with field goal, led the jacket 13-0 midway through the second quarter.

Against Troy, the Tigers were able to surge forward in the second half. However, unlike a week ago, the Tigers coughed a 14-13 lead on a 13 play, 90-yard drive, capped with a two-point conversion, bringing Tech to the forefront 21-14 in 10 minutes. After Clemson tied the score with a short touchdown run, Tech drove 38 yards and set a 55-yard field goal for kicker Adam Barr over time.

Nothing is correct. There is no broader vision of Clemson’s desire to attack or defence. Klubnik rewinds the ball twice and is sub-pearl through three games. As a team, Clemson is a pedestrian.

Two losses in three weeks may not end the Tigers’ playoff hopes, but it appears very unlikely that this team will get back on track and run the table from here. What evidence is there from LSU, Troy and Tech to give you confidence that there is a conversion to the card?

Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee are leading the biggest winners and losers in college football action on Saturday.

winner

Georgia

It may take several more weeks to truly assess the deeper impact of No. 3 Bulldogs’ Electric 44-41 overtime victory over No. 15 against Tennessee. Was this just a day for the Bulldogs’ defense despite the fact that Tennessee owned the 21:29 regulations? If the attack has to do heavy lifting, is the Bulldog built to survive the gauntlet of seconds? Does Georgia have another gear that will unleash deep into conference play? (Kirby Smart hopes.)

Among these lingering questions, there are two certainties. For one, this is down as one of the top games of the regular season. More importantly, the Bulldogs need to stay above the SEC power rankings after adapting to Tennessee’s enthusiastic style and thrive. Generally speaking, victory in this series is not too special. Georgia won nine times in a row, losing only twice since 2010. However, the nature of victory strongly hints that despite having no real answers about defense and being one of the country’s most laidback environments, Georgia has more hints in the tank.

He offers key major credits for the coaches of the robust programs he’s building since being tentatively promoted early in the 2022 season. After winning seven games in the last two years, this is clearly his best team, a real threat to either beat the ACC or compete for a massive playoff bid. Schedules cannot be ignored. Tech ends the regular season by playing Georgia, but there are no other ranked teams, but travelling to Duke and North Carolina is not easy. At the very least, this is a team worthy of our attention and a poll spot for US LBM coaches.

Blythe Underwood

Don’t let Michigan win too much 63-3 against central Michigan, Michigan. However, the 616-yard total offense, 35 first downs and a stingy defensive play are major positives after last week’s defeat to Oklahoma and then the next red-hot Nebraska. The biggest point from this laugh was the performance of freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood, who threw 235 yards for 9.4 yards on a single attempt and had 114 yards and two scores on the ground. Wolverine must continue to make Underwood’s feet a big part of the attack.

Bill Belichick

Things haven’t gotten worse since their embarrassment against TCU in the season opener. It’s positive for the oldest coach in Major College football, Belichick, 73. Hey, there’s one more positive here. North Carolina is 2-1 after beating Richmond 41-6. Belichick has scored a record for the first time since the New England Patriots moved 7-6 on December 12, 2022 in a victory over the Ariona Cardinals.

loser

Tennessee

This is not a bad loss for Tennessee. Don’t say it may take weeks for the stab wound to sink. The volunteers only controlled the tempo and the game, handing things over to Georgia with some important mistakes. Kicker Max Gilbert missed his 43-yard field goal attempt to force overtime, and no one was bigger than the fake start flag on the final drive of the regulation. Still, the volunteers look like legal championship competitors starting Saturday. Because of a powerful attack that looks much better as Nico Iamaleava struggles to complete the winning UCLA pass. Joey Aguilar played incompletely, but still had 371 yards and four touchdowns for 10.3 yards per throw.

Archmanning

Manning’s play continues to undergo major scrutiny after a weak show in a 27-10 victory over UTEP. The redshirt sophomore went 11 of 25 for 114 yards on touchdowns and interceptions, with the 7th Texas continuing his very impressive run throughout non-conference play. Everyone knew Manning would give more attention than any other player in college football, but his play guaranteed the negativity surrounding his first three games as a full-time starter for the Longhorns.

Wisconsin

The chance Wisconsin defeated Alabama in the 18th inning came out when quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. was ruled out with a lower body injury. But be honest. Even if Edwards was at the center, the Badgers’ chances were barely present. While Danny O’Neill started off in his place and threw an intercept, the bigger issue was a non-athletic defensive play where Ty Simpson averaged 13.2 yards per throw. What made the 38-14 Finals not a big surprise is the latest statement on Wisconsin’s program under junior coach Luke Fickel.

Kent

Kent has almost beaten FBS opponents. And Mac opponents, less than that. But as expected, Woebegone Golden Flashes lost 31-28 to Buffalo after playing for over a minute and giving up a 76-yard touchdown drive. The program’s final victory went on to work overtime against the Bulls to end the 2022 season. After that season, Golden Flash has continued to play 22 games against FBS and 16 games in Mac play since losing former coach Sean Lewis.

UK signs billion-dollar technology contracts during US Trump visit

The agreement aims to strengthen US-UK collaboration between the trillion dollar technology sectors and enhance business and consumer opportunities.

play

Sept. 13 (Reuters) – The UK and the US are preparing to sign a groundbreaking technical agreement in the coming days as part of President Donald Trump’s visit to the UK, the British Embassy in Washington said on Saturday.

The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration between the trillion dollar technology sectors of the two countries and enhance opportunities for businesses and consumers on both sides of the Atlantic.

Although final details were still negotiated, the embassy said the partnership would focus on key technologies such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, communications and quantum computing.

“Top-edge technologies such as AI and quantum computing will change our lives,” said Liz Kendall, UK Technology Secretary, who was appointed to her role on September 5th, in a statement.

Trump is scheduled to fly to the UK for his second state visit on Tuesday. This is expected to last for three days. He will be accompanied by a delegation of US executives, including Nvidia Corp CEO Jensen Huang and Openai’s Sam Altman.

BlackRock is planning to invest $700 million in UK data centres as part of a series of deals announced during Trump’s state visit next week, Sky News reported on Saturday.

Since the beginning of the year, both countries have been publishing AI action plans. While US companies such as Anthropic and Openai are increasingly establishing international offices in London, UK-based companies such as Deepmind continue to invest in transatlantic cooperation.

Paramount condemns 4,000 filmmakers boycotting Israeli projects

Paramount has denounced the pledge signed by Mark Ruffalo, Emma Stone and more than 4,000 other Hollywood talents who vow to boycott Israeli film projects.

play

Paramount has condemned the pledges signed by Mark Ruffalo, Emma Stone and more than 4,000 Hollywood talents who swear to boycott the Israeli film agency amid the Middle Eastern country’s military operations in Gaza.

“Joker” star Joaquin Phoenix and “White Lotus” actress Amy Lou Wood were among the names of the September 8 pledges that have denounced Israel for attacks that the Gaza Health Ministry said it had killed more than 64,000 people since October 2023.

In a September 12 statement reported by Reuters, Paramount has become the leading studio in dealing with boycotts shared by Palestinian advocacy group, Film Workers.

“We disagree with recent efforts to boycott Israeli filmmakers. Silence of individual creative artists based on their nationality does not allow us to better understand or advance the causes of peace,” Paramount said. “We need more engagement and communication — not less.”

In response to Paramount’s statement, Palestinian film workers criticized the studio for “deliberately misrepresenting their pledge to silence colleagues in the film industry.”

“This move will only be massacred from criticism when global rage is growing exponentially, and while many people have taken meaningful steps towards accountability, they will only protect them from criticism,” the Palestinian film worker wrote in a statement shared on social media.

The organization also called for the hefty Larry Ellison, who is allegedly “close relations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” and praised the thousands of filmmakers who joined in creating a “collective moral position.”

USA Today contacted Paramount for comment.

“Nearly two years after Israeli genocide in Gaza, it appears to be endless, but the rapidly increasing number of filmmakers recognize that it is an essential duty that cannot be ignored to paraphrase Martin Luther King JR to withdraw participation from the evil system,” the group added. “If Israeli film institutions want to continue working with the pledge signatories, their choice is clear: end the Israeli genocide and apartheid accomplices and support the full rights of the Palestinians under international law.”

2026 Detroit Auto Showlock attends from four major automakers

  • The Detroit Auto Show is back in another year of test drives and cool cars.
  • The show has been pivoted from its proven position in engineering to customer-centric events.
  • Organizers said four major global automakers have confirmed their participation.

The 2026 Detroit Auto Show is preparing to turn the ignition. The show organizers were announced on Tuesday, September 9th, the first four major automakers to attend the 2026 show.

The original Detroit 3 – Ford Motor, General Motors, Stellantis (formerly Chrysler) – and Toyota have confirmed all attendance at the 2026 show at Huntington Place in downtown Detroit. In addition to home appeals from Ford, GM and Stellantis, Toyota is consistently one of the bestselling automotive brands in the US.

The Detroit Auto Show has gone through several iterations, but its participation in the brand has not wavered.

The auto show began in 1899 before the heyday of the automotive industry and bounced back to various parks and fairgrounds in the Detroit area. By 1965, when the business was booming, the show moved to Cobohol (now Huntington Place), where carmakers began to bring their latest products to the show floor and create mega showrooms for potential buyers to see all the options.

As car shows evolved, it became more like a car-themed amusement park rather than an ultra-higher car dealership. The brand began pulling stunts, breaking the news and unveiling flashy concept cars.

In 2025, organizers spoke to the Detroit Free Press, part of the USA Today network, and the show will return to a blending approach, fusing consumer focus with automotive experiences such as thrill rides and IndyCar demos.

The Detroit Auto Show will be held from January 14th to 25th. Auto Show organizers said they hope that more brands will take part in order to join Ford, GM, Stellantis and Toyota at the event.

“These four car manufacturers don’t just make cars, they move the market,” said Samcremet, executive director of the Detroit Auto Show. “To have Ford, GM, Stellantis and Toyota at the forefront of 2026 highlight how important Detroit is to the global automotive industry.”

Who is Erika Kirk? The wife of murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk

Erica Kirk was her first public appearance since her husband, Charlie Kirk, was murdered on Friday, September 12th. This is something you need to know about her.

play

Erica Kirk, the wife of murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk, vowed to continue her late husband’s job and mission, saying in a recent speech, “You don’t know what unleashed this country and this world.”

Charlie Kirk, 31, was fatally shot deadly when an official called a “political assassination” was spoken on the Utah Valley University campus on Wednesday, September 10th. Authorities have identified 22-year-old Tyler Robinson as arrested on Friday, September 12th. According to Christopher Ballard of the Utah County Lawyer’s Office, prosecutors are expected to formally filed against Robinson when he appeared in his first court on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

On the same day Robinson’s arrest, Erica Kirk gave a speech, marking her first public appearance since her husband’s murder.

“The evil ones for the assassination of my husband don’t know what they did,” she said in a live stream on Turning Point USA’s YouTube page.

The two’s mothers gave a speech from her late husband’s studio, where they produced “The Charlie Kirk Show.” Wore a beige blazer, she stood behind a desk fitted with a white hat, featuring the gold number “47.”

“They killed Charlie because they preached the message of patriotism, faith and God’s love,” Erica Kirk said. “They should all know this. If you think my husband’s mission is previously strong, you’re not thinking about it.”

Here we take a deeper look at Erica Kirk as she continues to plan her husband’s memorial and funeral.

Who is Erika Kirk?

Erika Lane Kirk, 36, has been married to Charlie Kirk since 2021. They married on May 8th at a ceremony in Scottsdale, Arizona.

“…I’m not blessed to be blessed to be able to call my husband.

According to the Pageant website, former Erica Franzbe won Miss Arizona USA in 2012 before marrying Charlie Kirk. According to Instagram, she received the Julis Master from the Liberty University School of Law in 2019.

She also received her bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from Arizona State University, according to the biopage on her website. She also played college basketball at Regis University in Denver.

“Erica Kirk is a social entrepreneur, passionate ministry leader, and a woman of deep faith, a woman of deep faith, who is a woman of deep faith whose life has been shaped by her global experience and unwavering commitment to purpose,” her bio reads. “From New York City to China, Erica has worked as a model, actress and casting director in the entertainment industry, and remains based on all Christian faiths.

Erika Kirk is the CEO and founder of the nonprofit organization (a daily hero like you), a ministry project (Biblein365), whose “faith-based clothing brand (declaration) is “seeking to help individuals engage in the Bible every day.”

She is also the host of the “Rising Throughout the Week” podcast, describing it as “a series of prayers focused on Bible leadership and empowering others to lead with integrity and purpose.”

How did Erica and Charlie Kirk meet?

According to Fox News, Erika and Charlie Kirk met in 2018, and the two had a “very long dinner,” conservative activists said in a video shared on the Turning Point YouTube page.

In the same video, Charlie Kirk says he knew his wife was there “quickly.”

“Erica cherishes her role as the mother of Charlie Kirk’s wife and precious son and daughter,” reads Bio on her website. “As she continues to grow in her ministry, leadership and entrepreneurial efforts, Erica is committed to inspiring others to be driven and driven by Christ’s love in all aspects of life, rooted in faith.”

In an Instagram post on September 12th, Erika Kirk wrote: “I don’t know what they sparked in this wife. If I think my husband’s mission is big now… you’re not thinking. You are all of you. Everyone.

Stellantis shifts its strategy as EV demand drops

  • RAM has announced that it will halt development of all-electric pickup trucks.
  • Instead, the company has pledged to focus on an extended range of 1500 pickup trucks offering battery power and internal combustion engines.
  • The company retrieves its name from the RAM 1500 Rev-, which is now a cancelled RAM track, and places it in range-extended RAM, previously known as the RamCharger.

The RAM is pulling the plug into an electric pickup truck.

Originally called the RAM 1500 Rev, the fully electric pickup was scheduled for the market in 2024. It was then delayed until 2025. Then until 2026. The deadline has recently been moved to 2027. Now, the automaker has cancelled its entire program.

“As demand for full-size battery trucks slows in North America, Stellantis will reevaluate its product strategy and halt development of full-size BEV pickups,” the company said in a statement.

Ram said the nameplate for the now-deprecated EV pickup will be transferred to what was previously known as the RamCharger. The range expansion pickup is projected to be sold in 2026.

“As part of this, RAM is renamed the Reev-powered pickup to RAM 1500 Rev (formerly Ramcharger). The vehicle will set a new benchmark on the halfton segment, providing exceptional range, towing capabilities and payload performance,” the statement reads.

What is a range expansion vehicle?

In contrast to electric vehicles with batteries, range expansion vehicles have both gas-powered engines and battery packs.

No, it’s not exactly a hybrid.

The idea is that a RAM 1500 Rev (formerly Ramcharger) uses power from the battery to power the vehicle forward. It feels like an EV when you drive. However, the battery is equipped with an internal combustion engine that runs on gasoline. There is no need to connect the battery to charge (but that’s optional). Just fill the tank and drive the car.

Range-extended vehicles typically offer a high-efficiency return on fuel costs, with RAM estimated 1500 Rev RAM to bring a 690-mile driving range to the full tank, pumping 647 horsepower.

Company-wide pivot

The announcement follows a series of decisions from RAM and other Stellantis brands (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat in the US), and brings back nameplates and products while promoting commitment to electrification and recommendations for the internal combustion segment of the lineup.

Our current strategic plan, titled Dare Forward 2030, was announced in March 2022 and focused heavily on sustainability and electrification. The fully electrified RAM pickup was part of that plan.

The Stellantis website disclaims, “Considering the current trends in market dynamics, government policies and regulations have emerged since the plan was introduced in March 2022, many objectives of market dynamics, government policies and regulations, many of our dare-to-advance targets are becoming increasingly challenging, considering that they will ultimately determine the speed and trajectory of meeting the target in 2030.”

Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa spoke at the Economic Conference held in Paris on Thursday, September 11th, working on what the Pivot Stellantis brand has done since the departure of former CEO Carlos Tavares, who resigned in December 2024.

“We’ve lost a lot of market share,” Firosa said of the company’s performance over the past five years before he took office. “Why? Because we have decided to phase out a very important nameplate over the past few years.”

These nameplates include the Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Lenegade, Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Ram 1500 Classic, Chrysler 300, and Ram Promaster City. Stellantis has revived versions of Cherokee and gas-powered chargers over the past two months.

“These seven nameplates meant a lot of profits, on average, at 300,000 units a year,” Filosa said. “So, business growth starts with the launch of products that consumers are waiting for.”

Filosa defended RAM 1500 Rev, which had expanded scope at the meeting.

“We will be (the pioneering) in the introduction of range expansion pickups in the US,” Filosa said, adding that the RAM 1500 will be the first large pickup truck in the market with range expansion powertrains.

We spread deep sympathy for the Kirk family.”

“No matter how private your life is, everyone has an audience,” Karen North, a professor of digital social media at the University of Southern California and psychologist, told USA Today in 2024 after his assassination attempt. “And there’s always an audience for people to cheate.”

Fed’s Lisa Cook declared Atlanta property as a “vacation home,” Doc Show

Lisa Cook has repeatedly denied any fraudulent behavior in relation to her property, including her home in Michigan and investment property in Massachusetts.

play

WASHINGTON, Sept. 12 (Reuters) – A loan estimate in Atlanta home purchased by Lisa Cook, the Federal Reserve Governor accused of Trump administration’s mortgage fraud, shows that Cook has declared his property a “home for vacation.”

The document dated May 28, 2021 was issued for cooking by the credit union a few weeks before completing the purchase, indicating that the Atlanta property was not her primary residence. The document appears to counter other documents that Cook’s critics cited in support of their claims that they committed mortgage fraud by reporting two different homes as her main residence, two independent real estate experts said.

Reuters could not contact Cook for comment. She repeatedly denied any fraudulent behavior related to her real estate. This includes homes in Ann Arbor, Michigan and investment property in Massachusetts.

Administrative officials led by Bill Prute, director of federal housing finance agencies, have used her Atlanta and Michigan real estate mortgage documents to accuse Cook of claiming her as her “major residence.” False claims of residence that could improve the impact of mortgages and taxes on homeowners led Pulte to introduce the matter to the Justice Department, urging a federal investigation and order by President Donald Trump, leading her to dismiss her.

Cook, who remains in the Federal Reserve, sued the president and resisted her firing. Reuters could not determine whether Pulte or the administrative authorities were aware of Cook’s Atlan Tarone estimate. A spokesman for FHFA, a Pulte-led agency, did not respond to a request for comment.

The documents cited by Pulte include standardized federal mortgage documents that stipulate that each loan obtained by Cook for Atlanta and Michigan properties covers “major residences.” However, a document reviewed by Reuters for the Atlanta home, filed in court in Fulton County, Georgia, clearly states that the provision exists “unless the lender agrees in writing.” The credit union-produced document, the loan estimate, says it is “Real estate use: Vacation home.”

The document appears to be useful in Cook’s case, said two real estate experts who are not involved in representing her. That’s because during the loan application process, she tells the lender that she intends to use the property as a villa.

Lender, Washington-based Bank Fund Staff Federal Credit Union, did not respond to requests for comment.

On another point where she could help with Cook’s case, she never requested tax exemptions on her Georgia home as a primary residence, according to real estate records and Fulton County Tax officials.

Another document reviewed by Reuters shows that in December 2021 he declared Atlanta’s property “second home” in connection with the federal form completed by Cook when he obtained security clearance for his role in the Federal Reserve System. Although unrelated to mortgages, the declaration of that document, a supplement to the US government’s national security form known as SF-86, is consistent with her request for a summary of her Atlanta loans.

Surrounding the accusations against Cook are the fight over Trump’s efforts to exercise more control over the Federal Reserve, the US Central Bank and independent institutions intended to be free of political interference. Since returning to the White House earlier this year, Trump has often criticised the Fed governor because he has been reluctant to cut interest rates.

In the controversy, the personal finances of other government officials and their families have also been questioned by rival politicians, the media and others.

Last week, Reuters reported that Pulte’s own father and Stepmother declared two homes in two different states as primary residences, removing tax exemptions from Michigan towns and urged couples to charge back taxes. Pulte and his parents did not respond to requests for comment on the issue.
