Many retirees get Social Security early, is that wise? What do you know

0

play

Some older Americans looking at potential social security benefits cuts are trying to access the program as soon as possible.

Experts say that might be a mistake.

Instead, potential beneficiaries should consider their health and life expectancy, what they can draw from, if they were working for good, and what their marriage status situation is, their financial advisors tOld USA TODAY. Balancing these factors with the amount needed each month will help retirees maximize their profits over the course of their lives.

Creating all the dollar counts is especially important when three in five American workers say their retirement savings are where they are supposed to be, according to Bankrate’s 2025 Retirement Savings Survey. More than a third of American workers are expected to need more than $1 million to retire comfortably. However, the survey said only half of workers think they are likely to achieve their retirement savings goals.

“There are mixed opinions about social security claims by age,” Managing Director Mike Lynch applied insights to the Hartford Fund. “It’s firmly and individually based.”

Is it better to get Social Security at 62, 67, or 70?

Age 62 is the earliest person who can assert social security, while age 67 is considered the total retirement age (FRA) for people born after 1960. However, if you are charged at age 62 instead of age 67, the monthly check will be about 30% smaller.

Additionally, monthly benefits increase by 8% each year after age 67 until the age of 70.

In the face of that, it appears that people should wait until at least 67 to receive the biggest checks possible, but that’s not necessarily true, experts said.

“Life expectancy makes a huge difference,” said Jaime Eckels, Plante Moran’s wealth management partner. “The longer you wait, the longer you have to live to collect. It makes sense to start by looking at Breakeven Age.”

Breakeven Age is when the monthly payment increase from a late benefit is equivalent to the total payment received through a previous claim. You can create a profile on the Social Security Administration website and use its break-even calculator.

Usually, delaying profits means that if you live above break-even, you will have a higher total lifetime payment, but if you don’t live past that milestone, you will argue that you will have a more economic advantage early on.

The Breakeven Age is just a guideline, the advisor said. They warned, they warned.

How can you determine when you should get Social Security?

Older Americans should consider the following, said John Sey, financial advisor at Bogart Wealth:

  • Source of income: Apart from Social Security, what other retirement funds can I tap to pay? What are the impact of each tax?
  • Health status: According to 2023 data from the Centers for Disease Control, the average life expectancy at birth is 78.4 years. The reality is that many people live long and may retire for more than 20 years if they practice healthy lifestyle habits. Financial Advisors are calculated separately by calling this lifespan or longevity and providing some general health and family history information.

For example, if you are single, healthy and come from a long-lived family, consider taking Social Security before. “Even if you give credit for the delay, if you start early, you’ll be collecting it over the years,” she said. “That’s what you’re gathering and reduce what you’re drawing from your own retirement fund.”

  • Have a spouseMarriage requires strategy. for example, if Both people are eligible, but one earns more, so they first collect a small amount to earn cash. Grow others as long as possible and maximize profits. If the lower amount of spouses are in the range of higher earners, the surviving spouses receive a higher profit.

If a spouse collects and is married at least the same age as a year, but one spouse benefits are less than half of the other spouse, the spouse must instead assert the interests of the spouse. A spouse can claim up to 50% of the profits of a high worker.

  • work: Beware of work penalties if collected before FRA. Earn over the annual limit ($23,400 in 2025) will reduce your benefits by $1 for every two dollars you earn above the threshold. In the year you reach the FRA, you will be deducted for every $3 you earn ($62,160 in 2025) in the months before the FRA. Once you reach the FRA, the deduction will end.
  • Medicare: Social Security Eligibility begins in 1962, while Medicare begins at age 65. This is a three-year gap in which retirees must withdraw a much larger percentage of their portfolio, and is subject to greater risk if the market drops significantly. Tapping on your portfolio means selling more investments and raising a certain amount of cash. This will save faster and reduce the amount of assets that will generate revenue when the market recovers.

Why do so many retirees submit social security before?

Still, more retirees are submitting as soon as possible.

In 2023, the most popular age to claim is 66, accounting for 34.1% of new claimants, Social Security data shows. The next most popular age was 62, at 23.2%, and the 65 year old finished in the top three with 11.3%. All other ages were single digits, SSA said.

Here are some early claims:

  • You need the immediate income you need, especially to pay off your debt or when you face an economic emergency.
  • Health issues
  • The desire to quit work
  • If a spouse needs to stop working, to maximize the family’s profits
  • Fearing that the program would run out of money, Eckels said it probably wouldn’t happen. “There are people who are always working in the system and paying,” she said. “There’s a lot you can do to fix the system.”

Governments can increase revenue by increasing payroll taxes that fund social security or income thresholds, continuing to pay taxes or increasing retirement age.

“The decision to rash for fear leads to bad outcomes,” she said.

Israel, Hamas, two years after the attack on October 7th, the world has transformed

0

play

  • Two years after the October 7 attack on Israel, Gaza was firmly declared and Israel was quarantined.
  • President Trump’s 20-point peace plan hopes that the region’s changing landscape will allow for a deal.
  • The impact of October 7th bounced back not only in Gaza and Israel, but also in Iran and Syria.

Has the world’s most unstable regions changed?

You may know the answer for a short time.

President Trump’s 20-point plan for a ceasefire in Gaza and the reconstruction campaign to follow are efforts to capitalize on drastic changes and enormous devastation as Hamas is now approaching its second anniversary in the wake of Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel.

Hamas, which was weakened on October 3rd, agreed to a part of the initiative that was announced in the White House, along with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is on the side of the president. There were no other provisions detailing the future of Gaza, including some Hamas that Hamas has long rejected, rather than a response from an armed Palestinian group.

But the two years of turmoil and change in the region may have paved a new pathway to peace, some analysts say.

The attacks that claimed 1,200 lives on October 7th and the military response that devastated Gaza have changed the landscape of the region. This impact has contributed to the test of Trump’s hopes of expelling Syrian regime, setting up Iran’s nuclear program, isolation of Israel around the world, and winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

“I’m actually much more hopeful than I did a decade ago,” former US ambassador to Israel Michael Oren recently told USA Today’s “The Exterpt” podcast. Even after “two of the most difficult years in Israel’s history,” and the Middle East, he sees the potential to change regional geopolitics.

However, even Netanyahu said that it is not yet clear whether the next moment will bring about a ceasefire or a strengthened war, as the plan was revealed.

After Hamas’ reaction, Trump called on Israel to stop the bombing of Gaza, but he admitted in a video message that “the last words must be defeated with concrete.” History says the future negotiation process is not easy.

Like the 2001 9/11 terrorist attacks in the United States, the October 7 attack in Israel in 2023 began with a Palestinian enclave and left as deep as its date known.

Here are some of the things that have changed over the two years since then.

Gaza is no doubt

In Gaza, Hamas-run health ministry says that over 66,000 people have been killed — about half of those women and children — and humanitarian agencies are now warning about hunger.

Over the past two years, almost all of Gaza’s estimated 2 million residents have been forced to flee their homes several times to avoid Israeli artillery fire. In the densely populated city of Gaza, satellite photos show that the entire building blocks are flat.

In August, we concluded that one in three people in Gaza went without food for days at a time.

Netanyahu denies the “starvestorm policy” against Gaza and accuss Hamas of diverting humanitarian assistance for its own purposes.

However, Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen, after returning from a congressional fact-finding trip, accused the Netanyahu government of pulling back humanitarian aid with the goal of forcing Palestinians to leave.

Israel is “in implementing a plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza for Palestinians,” said Van Hollen, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee and a leading democratic voice on the conflict. “They use hunger as a weapon of war. ”

Israel is isolated

Even Netanyahu’s flight to New York for the annual meeting of the UN General Assembly in September highlighted how the devastation of Gaza eroded the Israeli world and his own status.

His plane clearly made efforts to avoid flying a country that could attempt to execute an arrest warrant issued against him by the International Criminal Court last November on suspicion of war crimes.

Another indication of Israel’s new distance has announced that it will recognize the Palestinian state from its traditional allies, France, the UK, Canada, Australia, Belgium and others – Netanyahu is a step that Israel will never accept. When he won the podium, dozens of diplomats left protesting.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s fiery remarks include strike and protest

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s UN speech urged Hamas to release the hostages, streaming from speakers to Gaza, urging them to walk and protest.

Netanyahu remained rebellious.

At the United Nations, he told Hamas that if the hostages were not released, “Israel will drive you down.”

This area has been shaken

Other countries in the region have been affected by the uproar.

Israel says the air force against Syrian Hezbollah forces was one factor in the Assad regime’s unexpected decline in December 2024.

Meanwhile, Israel, which had been spurred by October 7, launched a long-term air attack at Iran’s nuclear facility in June. Trump ordered a US strike using bombs containing bunkers designed to destroy facilities hidden deep underground.

“After October 7th, we have learned that we are not going to wait for our enemy to surprise us again,” Israeli UN ambassador Danny Danon told NPR at the time.

Some hostages are still prisoners

Most of the 251 hostages photographed on October 7, 2023 were released or their bodies were returned under an earlier ceasefire deal. Israeli officials say about 20 living hostages remained bred in hopeless situations, with about 25 more likely to have died, However, their bodies have not been returned to their families.

Hostage families called for release at a demonstration outside the United Nations at the New York General Assembly in late September. Their red and yellow banners read, “48 hostages are waiting for the leader to make a courageous decision.”

Her mind was racing and she couldn’t breathe, Macabit Mayer, the aunt of hostages Ziv and Gali Berman, told reporters in protest. The twin brothers, reportedly alive in early 2025, captured their 28th birthday in September.

“The whole country wants to breathe again,” she said.

Weighting when states can ban “conversion therapy” for children

0

Colorado therapist Kayley Chile said the state’s ban violates the right to free speech by “censoring” conversations with clients.

play

WASHINGTON – Matt R. Salmon, who grew up in a conservative and religious family in Arizona, tried so hard not to be gay.

He prayed, fasted, read the Bible, and begged God to change him.

“Even at other kids’ birthday parties, even when they were blowing their birthday candles, I’ll make my wish before they can and try and steal them,” said Salmon, now 37.

When that didn’t work, he agreed to see a counselor at age 18 who was told he could help.

Not only did he not leave his attraction to men, but Salmon said he absorbed the therapist’s message that something was wrong. He works hard to cancel two years of what he called “psychological abuse,” but Salmon still feels “so painful, to this day, broken by experience.”

So when the Supreme Court said that Colorado would decide whether the prohibition on “conversion therapy” for LGBTQ+ minors violated the counselor’s right to free speech.

“Certified experts do not have freedom of speech,” said Salmon, a psychiatrist and counselor in Washington, D.C. “You’re not just able to say anything you want.”

In one of the biggest cases of this semester, Justice will discuss October 7th whether the Seventh Amendment allows states to regulate treatments like talk therapy.

Caylee Chile, a licensed counselor who is challenging the Colorado ban, said the law prevents her from conveying the message that some people are interested, including those who believe she was born in the wrong body.

The law allows her to support adolescents who want to transition to another gender but cannot help them accept the gender assigned at birth, she said.

“Clients want to hear a message of hope that they can fight their bodies in many ways and that they can actually grow in peace and peace with the body they are in,” Chile said. She sees her work as a growth in her Christian faith.

Trump administration supports Christian counselors

Chile has support from the Trump administration.

The Justice Department told the Supreme Court that Colorado is “shooting one side of an ongoing debate in the mental health community about how to discuss issues of gender and sexuality with children.”

Colorado claims that the state has long had the ability to protect patients by regulating health care, and there is clear evidence that attempting to change someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity can work and lead to depression, anxiety, loss of faith and suicide.

“So-called conversion therapy is an inhumane, abusive practice that has been overwhelmingly shown to harm young people,” Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser said in a statement. “We have a compelling interest in protecting children from this dangerous pseudo-science.”

Chile can use a variety of treatment techniques to help minors, including those who don’t want to act on gay attractions, the state says. However, counselors cannot seek “the given consequences of changing the sexual orientation or gender identity of minors.”

The myth that conversion therapy is an “artificial history”

In 1793, the American Psychiatric Association stopped classifying homosexual mental illness.

“To have the same-sex or multiple-gender attractions, behaviors, desires, and diverse identities and expressions of transgender, non-binary, and gender are healthy traits found in all societies and cultures,” the coalition of leading medical and psychological professionals told the Supreme Court in brief support of Colorado’s law.

Still, in 2023, the Trevor Project (LGBTQ+ People advocacy group) said it said over 600 professional counselors could help change someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity. (The group has identified hundreds more unauthorized counselors who operate through religious capabilities and are not covered by laws like Colorado.)

“There’s a myth that conversion therapy is a history artifact,” said Casey Pick, senior director of law and policy for the Trevor project.

It was the approach that changed over time.

The most common form of talk therapy conversion practices

Historically, there have been a wide range of inventions. They included “aversion techniques,” such as using foul odor, electric shock, or other negative feedback to try to train patients to avoid having homosexual ideas.

Talk therapy is the most common today, according to the Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law, a think tank that studies the issues of sexual orientation and gender identity.

Salmon said his counselor suggested that his fascination with men was his father’s fault.

“He convinced me that my parents were part of the problem,” Salmon said. “He put a wedge between us.”

A transgender man who testified before the Colorado Legislature said his therapist encouraged his skirts, hoses, heels and cosmetics to “develop my femininity.”

“My parents were accused of not instilling this in my upbringing,” Francis Lyon told the Legislative Committee in 2019.

About half of states limit “conversion therapy”

Starting in 2013, California and New Jersey aimed to prevent conversion therapy.

More than 20 states have restricted practices through the law, including those supported by Republican governors. A handful of other states use executive orders or regulatory bodies to attack the issue.

In 2015, a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services filed a lawsuit to eliminate the use of conversion therapy among young people.

“While there is limited research into conversion therapy efforts between children and adolescents, none of the existing studies support the premise that mental or behavioral health interventions can change gender identity or sexual orientation,” the Department of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services said in its report.

The Trump administration has since added a disclaimer to the federal website that references the report. The court’s order says the page must be maintained by the health department, but “the administration and the department refuse to do so because this page does not reflect reality.”

“Practice speech-only counseling”

Similarly, Chile argues that issues related to sex and sexuality are not as resolved as Colorado claims.

Her attorney, Jim Campbell, said Colorado points to research that compiles the counseling that Childs would like to do with shock therapy and other aversive treatments that have been used in the past.

Chile “practicing merely speech counseling,” said Canbel, the chief lawyer at Alliance Defending Freedom, a conservative legal organisation that has frequently appeared in court in recent years when it comes to well-known social issues.

“I have said many times that when I look at the original (American Psychological Association) reports they have included, there is no evidence that this type of counseling can cause harm,” he said.

The Pyschological Association says the report is mischaracterized

The American Psychological Association says Chile misunderstands important aspects of the association’s 2009 report on conversion therapy.

The report noted the lack of published research into impact on minors, due to the difficulty of conducting clinical research without exposing children to change efforts, but the group told the Supreme Court in short support of Colorado’s law.

“The discoveries in 2009, and the discoveries in 2021, are that these sexual orientation and gender identity change efforts are not effective,” said Deanne Ottaviano, APA legal advisor. “However, they have a good record of causing harm based on self-reported evidence — depression, suicide, loneliness and other adverse psychological concerns.” ”

Judges can be influenced by arguments over evidence

That may not be convincing for the majority of justice.

When the Supreme Court allowed Tennessee to ban genders that affirmed care for minors, the conservative majority appeared to be shaking by what Secretary John Roberts called “unresolved questions” about the benefits and harms of adolescent blockers and hormonal therapy for transgender youth.

Also, some legal experts say the courts may be worried again that the courts are driven by politics rather than science.

“There may be concern among the majority of judiciaries that what’s actually happening here is what’s going on about, and they want to choose the aspect,” said Roma Martinez, a veteran Supreme Court lawyer.

MLB playoff winners and losers include the Yankees and Yankees from LDS

  • Teoscar Hernández’s three-run home run helped the Dodgers win Game 1 with the Phillies.
  • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. helped the Blue Jays hit the Yankees in Game 1.
  • The Brewers scored six runs in the first innings, passing Milwaukee’s rival Cubs.

You won’t be able to win the top five division series in Game 1, but you could lose it.

The NL and AL Division series all jumped in the van on October 4th, and while the momentum may be real, you can’t underestimate the joy of gaining 33% of the way to go ahead.

And while there are times of redemption and essential downfall, it is very important to go 1-0 on this day.

So, USA Today Sports breaks down winners and losers from all game ones in the division series.

winner

Teoscar Hernández

TEO’s Life is simply a never-ending roller coaster ride. And thankfully, I climbed the Los Angeles Dodgers at the right time to steal Game 1 of the NL Division Series in Philadelphia.

Hernández’s three-run go-ahead home run in seven innings turned the game over in favor of LA, turning the one-run deficit into a 5-3 lead and a final victory margin.

And it continued a season in which beloved Hernandez was far more mysterious than the Dodgers wanted.

Consider last week:

➤Game 1, NL Wildcard Series: 2 Homer Games where you knock Red on the canvas before joining the battle.

➤ Game 2, NL Wildcard Series: A dropped fly ball that led to two runs scored, made it much more difficult due to the elimination of Cincinnati.

➤3 innings, NLDS Game 1: Hernández stopped his most intense running as the liner of JT Realmuto rolled up the gap in the middle right.

Ah, two runs would probably have scored in the end anyway, but Hernandez’s silent silence to cut the ball was almost certainly true, with Realmuto reaching third place and ultimately scoring. And then suddenly, the Phillies took a 3-0 lead.

The opposite field then blows up Matt Stram and brings the Dodgers back all the way back. can’t believe it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ym-ouf_5vc0

All of this was when Hernandez fell into 81 games of funk from late May to early September, where he posted a .207/.250/.361 line, launching nearly 30%. In the Wild Card Series, he hit four hits with 10 hits, including .916 OPS and two Homer in his final 16 games.

What’s next? Hold it firmly.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

If you can’t remember seeing Guerrero play in the postseason, you’re forgiven.

They went 0-6 in the Wild Card Series in 2020, 2022 and ’23. That wasn’t a small thing when Guerrero’s first at-bat in the AL division series against the Yankees ended with a moonshot surrounded by the gorgeous open-roofed sky at Rogers Center before landing on the field seat on the left.

The Blue Jays took a 1-0 lead and won 10-1. Guerrero had three hits and a sack fly.

John Schneider

He was the skipper for the latter two Blue Jays playoff platforms and endured both types of management nightmares.

Toronto took an 8-1 lead in Seattle in the sixth in Game 2 in 2022, but starter Kevin Gaussman was allowed to win back the Mariners by surprise by three runs in the innings. The momentum never left – and Seattle eliminated Toronto with a 10-9 victory.

A year later, in another Game 2 Elimination Battle, Jose Bellios gave up just three hits in three innings and hit the flank against Minnesota. However, after the fourth leadoff walk, he was pulled out after just 32 pitches.

Yusei kikuchi gave up another run of his own for a good measure, with the heir runner allowed scores and Toronto was eliminated 2-0.

Imagine Schneider’s sentiment as Gausman nursed the 2-0 lead in the sixth and loaded the base – Judge Aaron is coming to the plate.

Schneider stuck to his ace – and Gaussmann hit the judge. Even if he was running, Schneider didn’t shake – and Gaussmann made Ben Rice pop up for his second out.

Finally, he lifted up Gaussman. And the bailer Louis Varland hit Giancarlo Stanton and loaded the base.

Almost every button pushed was perfect. And Schneider finally won his first postseason victory, the Jays’ first victory since 2016.

Additional innings without Manfred Runner

For those who avoid the eyes or turn off TV, computer, or radio during the regular season when the game goes to 10th The innings and Elsatts baseball will be performed, and the playoffs are safe spaces.

And the Tigers and Mariners incorporated a 2-2 tie into additional innings in the playoff game.

The fake runners are not placed in the second place. There’s no awkwardness of three true outcomes trying to defeat Bunt to make the fake guy third. A clash of will and thrills concluded with 11th Tarik Skuval was hiding on Sunday, October 5th, when Inningsack McIntley smashed his tie by adopting a single through the Mariners infield and sent the upset Tigers 1-0.

The viability of the brewer

While you’re obsessed with the fact that Pandit will be making a tail, it’s not easy to cruising the final weeks of the season in the final weeks of the season.

But Milwaukee brewers cried out from the gates of the postseason, as if they were fueled by the opposition.

Chicago Cubs’ 9-1 destruction – the six runs in the first innings tend to rise up – certainly erased memories of two outshows against the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2023 and Chalk’s work against the New York Mets a year later.

They won their second Game 1 in the final six playoff series. This can take away many stab wounds from hearing that the home ballpark is “Wrigley North.”

shohei ohtani

The Ohatani legend appeared to hit when he scored three two runs for Philadelphia. However, Otani simply climbed the mound and continued to dominate the Phillies in his first career postseason pitching appearance.

The screams and pumps of fist were to say the least after he hit Kyle Schwarber with a bit of extra vibrancy flashing while he was on the mound, giving up three hits in the nine innings and six innings. )

Ah, he couldn’t completely separate Dominant’s daily double. His hit version attacked Phillies leftists Christopher Sanchez and Matt Stram four times. But this playoff pitching was new to players who seemingly did it all. Ohtani then passed that test and managed to steal the Dodgers into Game 1.

A safe starter

If you spend $72 million on Tanner Scott and $13 million on Kirby Yates for a season, what should the manager do if they both turn out to be infeasible in the playoffs?

Just turn two of your nine guys rotations into firefighters.

Certainly, all bets have been turned off in the postseason, with Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora taking a full guide to the era of this starting pitcher who became a relief in 2018.

Glasnow did not pitch during the Dodgers’ World Series run a year ago due to his injury. However, he was upright this postseason, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto conccons as Otani, who has Ace and Blake’s Snell in good health, and can go to six or seven.

Throw him into the bullpen – even if he hasn’t pitched the pitch in peace with two teams since 2018 in Pittsburgh for the rest of his lifetime.

And Glasnow pulled it apart and scored five outs to almost fill the gap from Otani to new closers. Hey, he gave up hits and two walks, and LA had to close the group’s eyes when the sketchy Alex Vescia was needed recently.

However, Glasnow accomplished it, leaving the ninth in Sasaki.

The Dodgers had little time to workshop Sasaki in the bullpen at the end of the year, when they returned from countless health.

Instead, he went to “Penn” and appeared on Citizens Bank Park Mound for nine innings, recording his first career save to finish off his epic postseason tilt.

This is the third of the 13 wins the Dodgers need to defend the championship. If they get a chance at 13th W Those who know that front office Roberts and Brainac could coct this year.

loser

“Resting vs. Rust”

Remember when the wildcard team ran a lovely postseason with the first two iterations of this modern playoff format, triggering a discourse that it was probably better to play extra rounds than enjoying a few days off?

Yes, about that.

The team that won the Byes in Game 1 in 2025, drilled holes in the concepts raised by the arrival of the 2022 Phillies and the 2023 Diamondbacks World Series, and the notion that it’s better to jump on the fire than to make it cold on the couch.

No, it was a very small sample (who could have imagined it?). And the benefits of avoiding wildcards were abundant in Game 1.

Look at the Yankees. The Yankees are the Starters No. We saw a significant drop from 1-2-3 (Maxfried, Carlos Rodon, Cam Schlittler) to the fourth Lewis Gill, who failed to get out of three innings in Toronto. Or the Cubs telling the fact that the stupid decision to start Matthew Boyd with a three-day break isn’t enough to cover the three wildcard games and the NLDS opener.

The Phillies did that in three in a row…

Rob Thomson

He was in a gentle, hot seat after becoming an NLCS loser in 2024 after the Phillies regression from a surprise World Series participant in 2022 to an NLCS loser in 2023.

Sitting on a 3-0 lead thanks to Christopher Sanchez’s brilliance, Thomson warmed up David Robertson in the sixth as two guys reached base and Sanchez’s pitch count reached the 90s. But rather than putting out a hook, Thomson sent pitching coach Caleb Cosham on the mound.

Certainly, the Dodgers were ready to pinch a Kique Hernandez hit on Max Muncie, and it was clearly a tough call: tiring Sanchez vs Kique or Robertson vs Muncie?

Well, he stuck with Sanchez, and the Dodgers’ Cratches postseason player has once torn the lead to 3-2. Finally, Sanchez was lifted. And Robertson faced Muncie anyway.

Robertson was signed off from the couch in August and he either didn’t have “two” or sat down and never stood up to start another inning. However, Thomson was thrust into the seventh with Robertson, and the 40-year-old gave up on one and hit the batter.

It forced left-handed Matt Stram, who fulfilled his main duties by hitting Otani – against Tescar Hernandez. And then we saw how it worked.

Now the Phillies have to win three out of four against the defending champion. Or, Thomson is facing a very uncertain future.

Luke Weaver

He was an eccentric answer to the Yankees bullpen prayer a year ago, posting a whip of 0.65 and not dressed up in his first five and final five playoff outings when New York reached the World Series.

this year? He has not yet recorded an out while allowing all six batters he faces to reach base.

The latest blunder came against the Blue Jays. When he entered the seven innings of a 2-1 game, he quickly became a walk single RBI single and was a yanking.

Weaver also stained Max Fried’s gem in Game 1 of the Wild Card Series, allowing the Red Sox to steal a second-half lead for the seventh and force New York to burn a top-3 starter.

Now, Weaver slides manager Aaron Boone’s circle of trust further down. And there’s a very good chance that if you get a chance in Game 2, you’ll try to complete seven innings.

The Dodgers write a new MLB playoff script with Ohtani Win vs. Phillies

0

play

  • Shohei Ohtani won the game 1 with Tyler Glasnow earning the hold and Sasaki closed it.
  • Teoscar Hernandez’s seventh 3-run homer moved the Dodgers ahead.
  • Otani went 4-4 on the plate, but hit nine in six innings on the mound.

Philadelphia – It always happens in Hollywood.

The film’s scripts are written and stolen by the producer.

The original idea is created and then copied.

Well, here’s how the Los Angeles Dodgers are doing in the baseball business.

They’re not only copying this postseason formula, they’re stealing it as their own.

The Dodgers, who won the bullpen crater last month, came up with a way this postseason magically healed the wound, and on Saturday he took a blueprint to showcase the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3, showing at Citizens Bank Park with an audience of 45,777.

The Dodgers’ game plan is to have the starters as much as possible as Shohei Ohtani has earned the honors tonight, but instead of closing the game with traditional bailouts, they look to the rest of the starting rotation to fulfill their duties.

He acted like an Oscar winner in Game 1, and the Dodgers returned to lead Tecker Hernandez’s 3-run homer in the seventh, and held it for the final three innings thanks to a starter who suddenly became a bailout.

Tyler Glasnow, who hadn’t been relieved since 2018, came in one inning. Reliever Alex Vescia came in and came to escape the jam. And the thing that had never left the bullpen in his life until September was that it was Sasaki Castle that closed it.

The Dodgers may have plans to put them in the driver’s seat on the road to their second consecutive World Series title.

It certainly works like an appeal for the Washington Nationals on the way to win the 2019 World Series Championship, covering 75% of the innings.

Giants ace Madison Bumgarner became San Francisco folk hero when he left the bullpen in Game 7 against the Kansas City Royals, pitching five shutout innings and leading him to the 2014 World Series Championship.

Starter Chris Sale closed the clinching game at the Boston Red Sox 2018 World Series while Craig Kimbrell watched.

And who was Cy Young’s winner Randy Johnson, who won Game 6 with the Arizona Diamondbacks against the New York Yankees in 2001, won the 2001 New York Yankees?

Start one night and enjoy leaving the bullpen the next night and riding a parade float.

Shoehei, the Dodgers’ two-way MVP, began his first career postseason as a pitcher, playing the role by pitching six innings. He gave up three hits and three runs, retiring 15 of the last 17 batters he faced. His only wound was a two-run triple by catcher JT Realmuto.

“I was a little nervous to imagine myself being there on the mound,” Otani said. “But if I was on the mound and on the field, it would disappear and I was really focused.”

He hit like a pitcher who hits four times in a row in just two times in his career. If a game is needed, he will perform his normal DH duties up to Game 5.

“The reason I’m a two-way player is because that’s me,” Otani said. And at the same time, that’s what the team wants.”

Ah, yes, they ever.

“It certainly never happened at this level,” said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. “I use a lot of the word compartmentalization, which symbolizes compartmentalization. He is essentially two people in one game in one night.

“Go out and give us six innings and put us in the ball game. People who can manage it, they don’t know those emotions.

Who else can shut down the top of the Phillies completely.

Still, Otani looked to be a 3-0 pitcher until Enrique Hernandez hit a two-run double in six innings.

Knowing that Otani pitched the final inning before Hernandez’s Homer, Roberts turned his eyes to Glasnow in the seventh inning. He quickly mowed the Phillies in the seventh and hit trouble after getting two outs on the 8th.

“It was a bit nice, like an adrenaline boost,” Glasnow said. I enjoyed it. ..

“It’s cool that I didn’t throw into the bullpen for a long time. And just trust me, get out there and throw some big innings, that was amazing.”

What’s more, he says, it was good to see the game from another vantage point, looking at it from the bullpen instead of the bench, immersed in the atmosphere.

“It’s really nice, everyone has their own. There are a lot of good jokes,” Glasnow said. “It’s a good view. There are fans screaming at you. It’s fun. It’s easy to lock in.”

Glasnow left with two outs, and left-handed reliever Alex Vescia came in to retire Edmund Sosa, then it was Sasaki’s turn for the ninth. There was pressure. The fans were screaming. And Sasaki kept him cool.

He calmly hit Realmuto and gave up the double for Max Kepler, prompting an immediate groundout by Nick Castellanos and a weak pop-up by Bison Stott.

The Dodgers discovered that the postseason was approaching.

“What he was doing since he came back has been a gods blessing for us,” Dodgers veteran Reeler Blake Trainen said. “The most confident and dominant person was a surprising person because we see what Sasaki really does as a pitcher.”

It’s extremely difficult considering Sasaki is on the injured list for four months and is on the injured list until he returns on September 24th.

“It’s great to see what these guys are doing for us,” said Dodgers’ three-base hand Max Muncie. “Being a starter is not an easy transition, you have to change the entire routine to come out of the pen. It’s very incredible for the glass to do that and give you a solid inning.

“You know, we had to do the job, but we’re going to rely on our pitching. We believe in them, and they know that.”

And then, with the Dodgers’ improved bullpen, well, why not add a few more blowjobs to the party?

“They were great, their personalities mesh well,” Trainen said. “It was fun. I don’t think it’s odd at all. But at the end of the day, whether it’s the first or the ninth inning, we’re still throwing a ball that’s 60 feet, 6 inches and what we’re still playing.

“There’s no perfect blueprint in October. It’s healthy. Play a beautiful baseball. And there’s a bit of wealth on your side.

“That’s what we’re doing. We’re looking to push it, make it as messy as possible and get it done as quickly as possible.”

Yes, how many starters might take.

Things to know when the federal government shutdown enters day 5

0

play

The partial federal closure entered its fifth day on Sunday, October 5, after closing many of its operations shortly after midnight on Wednesday, October 5th.

President Donald Trump hopes Democrats will support the Republican plan to restore government funding. So far, Senate leaders have not been able to win the 60 votes needed to pass the bill. This means that government closures will continue until at least Monday, October 6th.

Salaries have been suspended for around 2 million federal workers, with around 750,000 people being ordered not to work, and others, such as troops and air traffic controllers, must work without pay.

Is the federal government still closed?

Yes, the federal government remains partially closed.

The ongoing closure ranks fifth-longest in US history. Senate Democrats, who are calling for a permanent extension of federal grants to help people get health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, have voted four times for the funding bill. Republicans say issues should be addressed separately.

What about Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid?

The Social Security Administration will continue to issue retirement and disability benefits, but it will hit 12% of staff and suspend marketing campaigns, according to agency closure plans.

Similarly, payments will continue under the Medicare and Medicaid health programs.

Will food aid continue under SNAP and WIC?

According to a closure planning plan document issued by the US Department of Agriculture, special supplementary nutrition programs for women, infants and children known as WIC, and special supplementary nutrition programs for women, infants and children known as WIC, will continue with special supplementary nutrition programs known as WIC, and special supplementary nutrition programs for women, infants and children.

Will US email be sent?

USPS said in a statement that the USPS would not be affected because it does not rely on Congress. The post office is open.

How about the airport?

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, more than 13,000 air traffic controllers will continue to work unpaid until the closure ends. Most TSA employees will continue to work, according to the agency’s statement.

What does shutdown mean to the military?

Based on an executive order from Trump, the newly appointed War Department statement reveals that 2 million US military personnel will remain unpaid until the closure ends, but officially the Department of Defense unless Congress officially changes his name.

The National Guard that Trump deployed in American cities must also continue to work.

What about law enforcement, borders, and homeland security?

Agents from the FBI, Drug Enforcement Bureau, the Coast Guard and other federal law enforcement agencies will continue to work.

Department of Justice staff administering the immigration court system will mostly remain at work, as Trump declared illegal immigration as a national emergency.

According to the Department of Homeland Security’s closure strategy, Border Patrol and immigration enforcement agents, like most customs officials, will remain in their posts.

Judge blocks Trump’s plan to deploy the National Guard to Portland

0

play

Federal judges temporarily blocked President Donald Trump from deploying 200 Oregon National Guard troops in Portland, Oregon, according to Reuters and CNN.

The ruling comes from Trump being appointed by Republican US District Judge Karin Imargat in Portland.

The office of Oregon Democratic Attorney General Dan Layfield filed the lawsuit on September 28, a day after President Trump said he would send troops to Portland to protect federal immigration facilities from “domestic terrorists.”

In his post on Truth Society on September 27, Trump said the war secretary “overseen all the troops needed to protect the war’s destroyed Portland, adding that he allowed the troops to use “full force as needed.”

Lawyers for the Oregon Attorney General’s Office told federal officials that the Portland protests were “small and calm,” resulting in just 25 arrests in mid-June in the three months since June 19th, and were not arrested without arrests.

The Oregon lawsuit said Trump announced the deployment of the military after showing video clips from a “substantially larger, more turbulent protest” in Portland in 2020.

The harsh division of how both parties described the ground situation in Portland was evident in a court hearing prior to their immersion on October 3rd.

Democrat Gov. Tina Kotek said in a recent conversation with Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noem that the city and state “can manage our own local public safety needs.”

Portland’s lawyer Caroline Turco said there has been no violence against ice officers in months and the recent ice protests were “sedated” the week before Trump declared the city a war zone, sometimes featuring fewer than a dozen protesters.

“The president’s perception of what’s going on in Portland is not a reality on earth,” Turco said. “The president’s perception is that this is World War II. The reality is that this is a beautiful city with sophisticated police forces that can handle the situation.”

The Portland lawsuit is the latest legal challenge to Trump’s military deployment into Democratic-led cities, including Los Angeles and Washington.

Earlier that day, the Trump administration told Illinois Gov. JB Pretzker that it plans to federate 300 members of the Illinois State Guard.

Pretzker said he would defy the proposal.

“I will not call our National Guard to further promote Trump’s offensive actions against our people,” he said. “In Illinois, we do everything in our power to find our neighbors, support the Constitution and protect the rule of law.”

On August 11, the president deployed 800 National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., and declared a state of public safety emergency.

If another weather system develops into a tropical storm, it will be named Jerry. Jerry is next on the 2025 Atlantic Storm name list:

play

After Hurricanes Humbel and Imelda dissipate in the Atlantic, forecasters are looking at the tropical tropics due to signs of a storm that could affect the United States, but things are relatively quiet at this point.

Although only two months into the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, moderate cyclone formations are still far apart, the low pressure region of the US Gulf, formerly known as the Gulf of Mexico, is unlikely to form towards the Texas coast, the National Hurricane Center said on April 4.

Another area that could develop near Florida’s coast took off the predictor’s watchlist on the afternoon of October 4th, but Accuweather’s lead hurricane expert Alex Dasilva said there are still heavy rains expected over the southeastern weekend.

If another weather system develops into a tropical storm, it will be named Jerry. Jerry is on the list of names for the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season.

Here’s what the predictor looks at:

Things to brew in the Atlantic Ocean

Low pressure weak areas form in the central Gulf Coast, creating chaotic showers and thunderstorms off the coast of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. The system is expected to move slowly northwest the following day or two days, reaching the Texas coast by Monday. The development of this system is not expected due to strong top winds.

Tropical waves between Africa’s west coast and the Cabo Verde Islands produce a wide area of confused showers and thunderstorms. The progressive development of the waves will be possible over the next few days, with the possibility of tropical depression by the middle to the second half of next week.

If that tropical wave lasts, it could begin to slowly begin to organize east of the Caribbean islands, and later approach a potential island called the Storm, Accuweather forecaster said.

Home stretching during hurricane season

This is the first year in 10 years that the US has not been hit directly by a hurricane by a hurricane by the end of September, Accuweather reported.

“So far, the season has run a little down in the case of named storms and hurricanes, but not usually in major hurricanes,” Colorado State University hurricane researcher Phil Krozbach told USA Today.

Still, experts say it’s wise to stay vigilant for future activities in the Atlantic. Seven storms formed last year during the final two months of the season, including four hurricanes.

Atlantic hurricane season officially began on June 1st and continues until the end of November. Aggressive hurricane weather usually peaks between mid-August and mid-October.

She says she was undergoing treatment and she realized that violence was not the solution.

The New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays will launch their top five American League Division Series at the Rogers Center on Saturday, October 4th.

Toronto won the AL East for the first time in a decade and won a goodbye to ALDS, but the Yankees finished runner-up in the division and had to beat their rival Boston Red Sox in a nervous wildcard series to book their place in this round.

“The fact that you don’t have to be in this position and play in the wild card rounds shows how far we’ve come as a team and who we are as a team,” Blue Jays outfielder George Springer told reporters.

Lewis Gill (4-1, 3.32 ERA) starts for the Yankees, with right-handed Kevin Gaussman (10-11, 3.59 ERA) getting the Blue Jays ball.

Saturday’s game will air on Fox and can be streamed on fubo.

Watch the MLB Playoffs on Fubo

The New York Yankees knocked Kevin Gorseman out of the game. However, the Toronto Blue Jays were on the lead.

The Yankees loaded an empty bass in six innings of ALDS Game 1, but managed only one run as relievers Louis Verland hit Giancarlo Stanton on a 101 mph first ball to load the bases and bailed out Gaussman by leaving the Blue Jays in the top 2-1.

Gaussmann was cruising five innings until Anthony Volpe’s leadoff reached a double-double from the wall on the left field. Austin Wellswalk and singles were singled by Trent Grisham and loaded bass.

But perhaps in the biggest sequence of the game, Gaussmann hit the judge with the splitter. Cody Bellinger Walk ran, but Ben Rice ran out for the second out.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider then yanking Gaussman for Varland, and the manager’s intuition paid off when he was a fan of Stanton.

They had to fight over a three-game wildcard series against the Boston Red Sox, so the New York Yankees considered themselves at a disadvantage when they took on the Toronto Blue Jays, who rested in the AL division series.

Lewis Gill did little to counter that concept.

Gill was chased after getting just eight outs and the Blue Jays took a 2-0 lead in three innings in Game 1 at Rodgers Center.

Come to Game 2, Ace Max Fried takes the mound, followed by Carlos Rodon and rookie star Cam Schlitler, and everything should be better in Yankeeland. However, Gill was drawn for solo homer by Vladimir Guerrero and Alejandro Kirk in the first two innings, and was lifted for left-handed Reliever Tim Hill after giving up a single to Guerrero.

The New York bullpen will need to cover 19 outs to survive Game 1.

Two innings, two home runs for the Toronto Blue Jays

It’s probably an unsustainable pace, but for now, the long ball by Vladimir Guerrero and Alejandro Kirk led the New York Yankees 2-0 through the first two frames of ALDS Game 1.

Kirk threw Guerrero’s first inning shot out of Lewis Gill with his towering fly on the left field sheet at Rogers Center. The Blue Jays got some good swings against Gill, who needs 37 pitches to complete two innings.

Get ready for Toronto’s SlugFest.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. started a home run to Rogers Center’s left field sheet as the Blue Jays scored their first advantage in the ALDS against the New York Yankees, claiming a 1-0 lead after one inning.

There is little secret between Al East’s rivals who won the Division title with 94 wins. Judge Aaron hit 112.6 mph from the field left to left from the first single as Gaussmann aims to survive against the Yankee lineup in his first ball splitter repertoire.

1959 Chevrolet Impala Red Interior Still Turns Heads

0

play

Eric Reeves’ completely red interior of 1959 Chevrolet Impala is in pristine condition.

The same goes for the glossy black exterior.

A few years ago he received a call from a Lebanese stepfather – a city in Indiana, not a country in the Middle East. He and Reeves’ mother lost their homes and fortunes to prominent territory. When they moved there, there was no heated garage to store cars he bought 20 years ago in Minnesota.

“He called and told me to come and get my car. He wouldn’t have a place to put it,” Reeves said. “And he told me that one day he would have been mine anyway.”

Reeves went to get his car the next day. Randy Price was sad to see his beautiful vintage impala in the garage decades before he bought it, and saw the drive-away.

“It was hard for him to let it go,” Reeves said. However, Price knew that Reeves loved the car.

It has a four-door, with a 283 motor, and only 67,000 miles on the odometer. It drives like a dream, Reeves said.

Almost everything in the car is original. Of course, there are new gas tanks and tires.

Reeves frequently drives the 65-year-old Impala. Some people around town recognize it, while others take double take when it cruises.

“It’s a timepiece,” he said with pride. And it’s a massive car. “In the trunk you can fit six to ten Mafia people.”

Trump administrator. To federalize the Illinois National Guard: Governor Pritzker

play

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker warned that President Donald Trump’s administration is planning to federate 300 members of the Illinois State Guard.

“The Trump administration’s War Department has given me an ultimatum: call on your army, or we will,” Pretzker wrote to X on Saturday, October 4th.

Pretzker said he would defy the proposal.

“I will not call our National Guard to further promote Trump’s offensive actions against our people,” he said. “In Illinois, we do everything in our power to find our neighbors, support the Constitution and protect the rule of law.”

The president deployed 800 National Guard troops in Washington, D.C. from August to August 11, saying Chicago would be in the next line after declaring a public safety emergency.

“Chicago is in disarray,” Trump said at an oval office meeting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino on August 22.

Trump’s comments come at a time when Chicago has seen a massive cut in violent crime, according to Mayor Brandon Johnson’s office. The famous mass shooting continues to shake up the city. However, the mayor’s office says overall crime has declined, including a 30% reduction in murders. Johnson said deploying the National Guard could potentially undermine city progress.

The Chicagoans are “screaming for us to come,” Trump said.

“They wear red hats like this, but they wear red hats,” he said. “African American women, beautiful women, President Trump, come to Chicago. Please.”

Last week, the president announced he would be sending troops to Portland, Oregon.

Tom Bryce, Russell Toby says “Plain Cross” sex is “not very free”

NEW YORK – When Russell Toby came to Hollywood, he received two pieces of advice.

“Stay your ears so that they don’t come out,” recalls the former child actor, who was openly gay for most of his adult career. “I’m talking to USA today against both those demands. Who’s laughing now?!”

Tovey, 43, proudly tells the odd stories he has abundantly in television “watching,” “feuding,” and “American horror stories.” The latest is “Plain Clothes” (now theatre), a Woozy New thriller set in New York in the 1990s. However, when he falls in love with one of his targets, Andrew (Toby), he begins to question everything.

Bryce, 30, says he was actively looking for something “intimate and gritty” after starring as the snow of young Coriolanus in “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.” He soon “turned the script” by writer and director Carmen Emmy.

“Carmen leads with strength through vulnerability and you can see that in the film,” says Bryce. This applies to the much discussed sex scene in the film as Lucas and Andrew unleash their pent-up desires behind the van.

“I don’t think it’s done that beautifully because I really don’t care about talking about it,” Blythe says. “The main thing that holds Lucas back in his life is that sex feels important and urgent, as he can’t be honest with himself. They realize that they are falling on each other, but they never get this chance again.”

Tom Bryce and Russell Toby say the school was a “toxic masculinity movement.”

From a young age, boys have been taught that punches are better than embraces. That’s the idea that Emi encountered in his research and resonated strongly with the film’s star. Both were born and raised in the UK.

“High school was just an exercise of toxic masculinity,” says Bryce. “I remember being so afraid of going to the PE changing room because there were people who wanted to fight and always wanted to take control.

“Then I think back and say, ‘God, most people there probably felt the same way,'” he adds. “It would be much easier to go through school if everyone was taught to talk about their feelings.”

Toby recalls how “tiring” and “stressing” it was to be in the closet before he came out at 18.

“As strange people, we essentially have more shame than our generation, especially,” Tovey says. “When I was young, I tried so hard not to become gay and try to hide it from so many people,” he viscerally remembers playing stupidly, causing trouble, not to be teased at school.

“If you’re smart or show interest in something other than football, you’re gay and you’re a target,” Toby says. He recalls certain experiences in religious education classes. “When the teacher says, ‘One or two of this class will be statistically gay.’ Every single person in the class looked at me and they all said, “What the hell?”

“After that, I went. That’s scary.”

“Plain Cross” is horribly related to members of the queer community

In conversation, both actors passionately talk about theatre. Toby raves the revival of James Corden’s “Brilliant” Broadway “Art,” and Blythe marvels at her best friend, Rachel Zegler, who recently starred in London’s “Evita.” (“I felt like I was watching a generation of performances,” he smiled.

As Preteens, they discovered that they each had taken shelter to stage and drama classes. This was probably the first space I promoted calm and vulnerable masculinity,” says Bryce.

“That’s what you hope schools promote. They’re taking that away from education,” adds Tovey. “That outlet should be like, ‘OK, I can guide all these emotions.’ ”

They are impressed with the answers they have received so far on “Plain Cross.” This is even more timely given New York’s recent crackdown at a queer hookup spot in midtown Manhattan, and has been arrested in more than 200 arrests since June.

“Carmen recently saw a comment (online) from a guy who said, ‘I’m a retired Chicago PD officer and this is what happened to me,'” Blythe says. “It’s insane to hear people know that they’ve lived Lucas’s story, but the fact that people feel they’re being seen in it is amazing.”

The polar vortex is awakening again. Is there any cold weather you predicted?

0

Polar Vortex is back to forecasting, but you can’t be afraid of counterintuitive weather features.

play

In the early signs of coming winter weather, the horrifying pole walls are making the news again.

Meteorologist Judas Cohen said in an email to USA Today on October 1.

Vortexes are typically a huge, circular area of cold air in the atmosphere that spins above the Arctic (as the name suggests). It is the strongest in winter, and usually weakens or disappears in summer. Its location can determine which part of the United States will invade the Arctic air.

Misunderstood weather patterns

According to the Polar Vortex blog at Climate.gov, Polar Vortex is not a synonym for “cold snap.”

Perhaps counterintuitively, strong polar water actually continues to bottle the coldest weather near the Arctic.

The stronger the extreme waters, the milder the US winters make it difficult for the vortex to enter deeper into North America, weather.com meteorologist Jonathan Erdman said.

And when it’s weak, it means that cold air is likely to invade the United States.

Meanwhile, the phrase “Polar Vortex” has attracted national attention and is now often misused to describe short-term seizures in frigid weather, experts told USA Today earlier this year.

“Weather can occur regardless of what the stratosphere is doing,” said Isla Simpson, a scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research.

In any case, don’t be afraid of polar vortices. It’s not like a tornado or a hurricane. It’s not something you can look up at the sky one day. There is no strange spinning whirlwind of ice and snow from Canada.

Polar Vortex predictions: big changes are coming

At this point, “in the foreseeable future, the polar vortex is predicted to be weaker than normal,” Cohen said on October 1. Cohen is the director of seasonal predictions for atmospheric and environmental studies.

“It appears that there will be a polar vortex event that has grown in the second week of October (which was many times last winter, but in early October it has been much less affected).

Cohen explained that he should be able to feel the cool temperature around October 10th.

Polar Vortex is nothing new

According to Jeff Kiel, a senior scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado, the vortex “had been in some form for the past 4.5 billion years.”

In fact, the term “Polar Vortex” is believed to have first appeared in the 1853 issue of the magazine Littel’s lifetime, states the National Maritime and Atmospheric Administration.

And, although it has been understood by scientists for decades, it only entered the Lexicon, a popular synonym for miserable cold winter weather several years ago.

What you need to know about the Israel-Hamas War Gaza Peace Plan

0

play

Hamas has accepted some of President Donald Trump’s peace plans aimed at seeing the release of all remaining Israeli hostages end the war of almost two years in Gaza, but many details and timelines remain unknown.

Hours following Hamas’ October 3 statement, Israel, which asserted that it was “ready to enter negotiations soon,” indicates that Trump is preparing to release hostages while Israel calls for it to halt its enclave bombing campaign.

Hamas’ response included clear agreements with several points of the plan, including the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the end of the battle, and the release of Israeli hostages, but they did not comment on other important points or statements provided that present challenges to some points of the plan;

Israeli campaign levelled the massive strip of Gaza, killing more than 67,000 people, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, a Hamas-controlled government agency. Israel began attacking Gaza on October 7, 2023, October 7, 2023, after a Hamas-led attack on Israel, led by Hamas. According to Israeli tally, around 1,200 people have been killed and 251 have been taken hostage.

The nearly two years of war created a humanitarian crisis, ousting millions and causing international backlash. Several Western countries in recent weeks have come to recognize Palestinian states against the US and Israel.

Trump introduced a 20-point peace proposal with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on September 29th, later giving a 6pm deadline on October 5th, responding to his proposal before threatening him “crowded and killed.” On October 3, Hamas said he agreed to release all living or dead Israeli hostages under the terms of Trump’s 20-point plan, and showed he was ready to quickly enter mediation negotiations to discuss the details.

Here are some things you need to know at the beginning of the Israel-Hamas peace proposal:

What is Trump’s Israel-Hamas Peace Plan?

Under the plan, the war ended and Hamas released all the remaining hostages in Gaza, which were filmed nearly two years ago during the terrorist attacks on Israel.

According to the text of the proposal, Gaza will also be redeveloped with the option of Palestinians wanting to stay in the country. Hamas fighters will get pardon and the territory will come under temporary governance by a new Palestinian commission, which will be overseen by the “Committee of Peace.” Trump personally chaired the panel along with other foreign leaders, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

However, there are still some potential obstacles. Hamas did not address the demands in the Trump plan where the group will disarm, and the October 3 statement did not explicitly address the idea of the future Palestinian state that Israeli leaders thought to have ruled out, or the provision that Hamas has not made any progress in Gaza governance. Hamas said that discussions about Gaza’s future should take place in the context of a “comprehensive Palestinian national framework.”

When talks begin over the implementation of the US plan, Hamas officials told Reuters that “things have not been arranged yet.”

Has Hamas agreed to release all hostages?

Hamas said on October 3 that he agreed to release all living or dead Israeli hostages under the conditions of Trump’s plan, and is ready to discuss details to immediately enter mediation negotiations.

The group said it would release all living or dead Israeli hostages as long as “on-site conditions for exchange are met,” but no details have been made as yet as of what these conditions will involve, or the time frame for releasing the remaining hostages.

Has Israel stopped its bombing campaign in Gaza?

Hours after Hamas agreed to some of the peace plans on October 3rd, Trump called on Israel to immediately halt the Gaza bombing campaign to move forward with the remaining hostages.

“Based on a statement that Hamas just issued, they believe they are ready for lasting peace. Israel must stop the bombing of Gaza soon. Trump said true socially: “Now it’s too dangerous to do that.”

Israeli airstrikes continued early on Saturday, but they weren’t as intense, according to Reuters. Netanyahu’s office said Israel is preparing for the “immediate implementation” of the first phase of its peace plan for the release of Israeli hostages, but no specific timeline has been shared.

Trump’s proposal calls for all hostages to be released within 72 hours of the contract being accepted. Once the hostages are returned, they call on Israel to detain 250 life row inmates and 1,700 Gazan. Hamas fighters who abandon their arms are also given pardons and allowed to leave Gaza under the plan.

In a daily update early October 4th, the Gaza Health Ministry said the Israeli fire has killed at least 66 Palestinians and injured 265 people in the last 24 hours.

“Twilight” memes We (still) love, just in time for our 20th anniversary

0

From the ridiculous Jacob Blackline in “New Moon” to the constant state of lip biting and horror in Bellawan, revisit our favorite “Twilight” movie memes.

play

20 years flower Hoa already?

On Sunday, October 5th, Twihards around the world have a “Twilight” movie marathon, listening to “Twilight” dogs and highlighting pages (“Your scent is like a drug like my personal brand of heroin” to commemorate the book’s 20th anniversary.

Who would have thought that the author Steveney Meyer’s idea of ”Twilight” would come to her in a dream? Meyer’s book included the film “Twilight,” and the film “The Twilight,” which premiered on November 21, 2008, quickly gaining a cult following mainly by some of the on-screen chemistry of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as Bella Swan and Edward Cullen.

Ending in the fall of 2012 with “Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” the film created a common basis between teenage romance, romance and just the right “Olvampire story.” More than that, the film – against their memorable indie and pop music soundtrack – gave us a timeless comedy moment we look back at.

Taylor Lautner’s classic Jacob Blackline, “Bella, Bella, were you, Roca?”, Bella Swann’s constant state of severity and fear and Edward Cullen’s unnecessary dramatic “This is the skin of a murderer.”

Establishment meme? Edward’s initial reaction to the scent of Bella

Before “Twilight” reaches the classroom scene, we are blessed with a handful of cringey moments, but Bella and Edward have the first of many nasty interactions, which can be said to be the first major memeable moment.

As Bella steps into their shared biology class, Edward gets the whim of her bloody scent and he can’t control his disgust? desire?

At first, of course, Edward appears to be tired of it, but later he reveals what he finds attractive. The clip with Edward covering his mouth with disgust appears to be trying to make his lab table vomit, but has been a virus for good reason over the years.

When Edward passes by the scent of Bella and admits to her that he is a vampire and 104 years old, the two actually start dating. Of course, Edward has plenty to catch Bella as he abandons trauma’s equivalent to a century of fear.

It may be Fans are still obsessed with the “New Moon”

In the second article in the film franchise, Edward onscreen was less, but it won $711 million worldwide, making it the 2009 $710 million film.

It also gave me an evergreen, relevant meme. Sitting by her window, the same Edward creeps up to hear the unforgettable “possibility” of Ricke Lee as the season passes.

Fans also enjoy the restless night, groaning with heartbreak in Edward’s absence.

Who gave Alice the right to play such a baseball?

Even those who only saw “Twilight” probably know well. that Baseball scene. After Karens meets Bella for the first time, they take her to play baseball during a thunderstorm, and Alice Cullen steals the show with her pitching.

“Baseball was invented the day Alice Cullen did this,” one X-account was posted online.

Twilight fans and obsession with the “Whoa Hoa” season

As the temperature starts to drop, the leaves change colour and pumpkin spice lattes are flowing. With the arrival of “Hoa Hoa” season, it’s time for “Twilight” reach.

For “Twilight” fans, Blue Foundation’s “Eyes on Fire,” featured on the film’s soundtrack, has become a synonymous word to begin the fall season.

Jacob Black’s ridiculous line from “New Moon”

Another line of “New Moon” that has become a viral meme is when Bella and Jacob are reunited, and when he runs to her, he says, “Where were you, Roca?”

“The weird thing about that line is that I don’t even remember that line!” Lautner said in an interview with the 2024 “Fat, Not Skinny” podcast. “Where did you come from?”

“I’ll have a friend send it to me… The first time we saw it was like a music festival or a rave,” said Taylor Dome, Lautner’s wife. “The DJ will then make a remix and they’ll put my photos of me with my long hair on the huge screen,” Lautner added.

“It was in Tiktok and then people started coming to me on the streets, and usually they just asked for photos and videos to greet friends, but they started saying, ‘You were hell out of loca?'” Lautner said.

Should I say Renesmee ‘Nessie’ Swan, or the Lake Ness Monster?

In “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” (and the book “Breaking Dawn”), Jacob nicknames Bella and Edward’s daughter, Reness Mee, and “Nessie.”

However, when Bella finds out about this, she is upset as she reminds her of the Loch Ness monster.

“Twilight” memes that last for another 10 years
