Chic-Fil-A proves im-peck-able Again with customer satisfaction.

The Chicken Sandwich Stubborn, along with Dutch Bros., leads the quick service restaurant in drive-thru customer satisfaction. Intouch Insight, in partnership with QSR Magazine, has found that 98% of its customers are happy with the drive-through experience, thanks to Chickfill A and Quick Coffee Stand Dutch Brothers.

The 25th Annual Drive-Thru Study examined 13 fast food brands across three categories: classic, chicken and beverage. The report also found that a trip through Taco Bell was just over four minutes.

According to the report, the Dutch brothers won a gold medal for accuracy in their orders.

Sarah Beckett, vice president of sales and marketing at Intouch Insight, said in a news release that Drive-Thrus has evolved from the experience defined by speed to fill complex orders.

“The question is no longer ‘how can we make it faster?’ But now, “Can we design a drive-through workflow and leverage technology to optimize it for this new reality?” Beckett explained.

What did the research find?

Research shows that it took customers to pass the drive-thru three seconds faster than in 2024. The survey found that clear speakers and accurate orders significantly reduced waiting times, increasing 1 minute 25 seconds per visit.

Engagement was an important driver of satisfaction, the study found. Overall satisfaction rates increased by more than 70% when the service was friendly and when customers received unfriendly services. Research shows that if an order was rated as friendly, the order was also highly accurate and the speed was faster.

The study considered 120 AI-enabled orders at three restaurants and found that technology reduced latency but sacrificed accuracy. Accuracy was improved when staff assisted with A-Ordering.

“For now, people remain important to the process,” the news release added.

The first Super Full Moon of the year will soon be appearing and will become a special moon for those living in the Northern Hemisphere. It is also known as the “harvest moon.”

This visual magnificent looks low on the horizon and is perfect for taking photos and enjoying the gorgeous autumn sky. Of course, the weather will be better. Of course, according to space.com, the moon will reach full phase on October 7th at 11:48pm (8:48pm (pt) when it reaches a point in the sky opposite the sun.

Can’t you go outside next week? Don’t worry, there will be three consecutive supermoons in the coming months.

cold cold supermoon December 4th

so what teeth Supermoon?

The orbit of the moon is oval or oval rather than a perfect circle around the Earth. A supermoon is a heavenly event in which the moon’s orbit moves closer to Earth than usual. When the moon is full and reaches the closest point to Earth, it is called a “supermoon.” When the moon, the closest point to Earth in orbit, reaches its closest position, it appears much larger and brighter.

Can’t view the graphics? Click here to see them.

The October Supermoon will reach approximately 224,599 miles from Earth. According to Earthsky.org, the November 5th Supermoon will be closest to 2025, at around 221,817 miles from Earth.

Your brain compares between the moon and everyday objects, such as buildings that are much smaller than the moon itself. This comparison causes the brain to inflate the apparent size of the moon, giving the impression that it is huge.

What is the harvest month?

The “harvest month” is the full moon that is closest to the beginning of autumn. The month won its name as farmers relied on the moonlight to harvest crops late at night before electricity. According to NASA, lighting for this particular full moon was particularly important as the biggest harvest took place in autumn.

October Month Stage

As the Sun revolves around our planets, the appearance of the moon changes when standing on Earth as the Sun illuminates different regions of its surface. Astronomers call these transitions the lunar stage. According to BBC Sky at Night Magazine, the new moon, first quarter, full moon and the previous quarter are key stages.

How to get the best views of Supermoon

◾Check the time to check the month: Check the local list to find time for Moonrise and Moonset. Most weather and star viewing apps have them.

◾Location, location, location: Find a place away from city lights and other light pollution, find the moon in the sky and become comfortable.

◾No light: Your eyes need to adapt to the darkness, which can take 15-20 minutes.

Are you thinking about buying an EV? Ford says the hybrid might be a smarter move

0

play

  • At a summit called Ford Pro Accelerate, around 300 leaders were convened at the station to talk about how Farley could accelerate productivity as an essential economy.
  • Speaking at the summit held at Detroit’s Michigan Central Station on September 30th, Farley outlined what Ford needs to do in the future to become a world-class profit maker.

Jim Farley, CEO of Ford Motor Co., said that while EV sales are expected to plummet next month as the federal tax credit for purchasing electric vehicles expires on September 30, Ford is ready to meet what is considered new demand.

Speaking at the summit held at Detroit’s Michigan Central Station on September 30, Farley has become a world-class profit maker as he outlined what Ford needs to do in the future to raise the stock price and easily reflected his five-year tenure at the helm of the company.

Farley made a comment during the summit called Ford Pro Accelerate: The Essential Economy. There, about 300 leaders were convened at the station to talk about how Farley could accelerate productivity as an essential economy. It is an industry such as manufacturing, utilities, transportation, construction, energy. Ford spent nearly $1 billion on renovations to Michigan Central Station, and Farley and Ford executive chairman Bill Ford said it would have happened without skilled merchants doing their job.

Bill Ford said Roger Pensuke, owner of Penceke Automotive Group, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, wants a Daylong Summit featuring Roger Pensuke, along with CEOs of various large companies, including Union Pacific Railroad and FedEx.

The future of EV

During a discussion with Bloomberg Wall Street Week host David Westin, Farley was asked about the future of EVs as the federal tax credits expired, up to $7,500 for new EVs and $4,000 for used EVs.

“Customers are not interested in $75,000 electric cars. They are interesting, fast, efficient…but they are expensive,” Farley said. “We think it’s going to be a vibrant industry, but that’s going to be much smaller than we thought, especially with tailpipe emissions and policy changes to leaving $7,500.”

Ford is offering competitive lease payments to EV shoppers to help transition federal tax credit incentives to provide competitive lease payments for retail leases through Ford Credit through December 31st.

Farley told reporters, “We expect there will be a period of time when we have to move consumers from government support. But you know how long we do that, and how deep we will go about it, we will see.”

Farley said Ford’s EV inventory is declining given that the government set a date for September 30th due to the expiration of the tax credits in which all automakers built and sold EV inventory. He said in a month, EVS sales will fall to 5% of the industry, compared to 10% of sales this month, compared to 12%.

At the time, prices would probably go up, he said, “This is also because you know, now they’re artificially subsidized.”

Farley said Ford learned that there are some of the electrification that Ford finds more interesting than he originally thought.

“Plugins, special hybrids… Is the F-150 now a third of hybrids, hybrids, F-150? “We think hybrids, EV plugins, e-Revs, such kind of electrification, America is falling in love and already in love.”

He said it would mean moving Ford’s product plans to make these hybrids in the factories that would have made the EV, which would mean that it would require the work of skilled merchants in what he calls the essential economy.

That’s why Farley is calling on federal, state, local government and community leaders to provide more vocational training and encouragement to recruit people into skilled trade professions.

Make Ford a North Star company

On the sidelines at the event, Farley told reporters he was proud of the progress Ford has made as a company under his leadership.

“We’ve saved $1 billion in costs over the last year due to restructuring, which is a big deal. We’ve built a really good foundation and need more work for Ford as a company to create a truly worthy North Star company,” Farley said. “We need to get more capital efficiently. We need to have a margin higher than 4% or 5%, and we need to be more resilient through our economic cycle. For me, these three things do a lot of work.”

Farley admits that one of his biggest challenges is defeating numerous recalls for Ford, which he calls “really difficult.” According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Ford has led the industry so far this year with a 116 recall. Farley said improving the quality of Ford is “more difficult than I thought.”

“It took me more time. I got deeper inside the company,” Farley said. “There were a lot of surprises, but with work like this… I didn’t know where the surprises were, but I knew there were a few.”

Under Farley, Ford’s share price has risen nearly 80% since he took over, which is a good thing, but many analysts say it ranges from mid-October to $20. To make it a buoy, Ford will become a North Star company. This means a company that benefits from a variety of revenue streams.

“We have to work together on some of these policy issues, and that could be a major tailwind for the company,” Farley said, hinting at President Donald Trump’s tariffs. “I don’t think the market understands the benefits of changing EPA rules. That’s going to be a big deal for companies like Ford, for our industry.”

Ford sells many heavy trucks and SUVs, so lowering environmental regulations can help. Farley also said Ford must overcome Trump’s tariffs on imported auto parts and auto parts.

“But we’re working really hard with the Trump administration, and that could be a tail wind,” Farley said. “But in the long run, I think people really want Ford Pro Business to be something that is possible. This is 30% of non-Beekru’s profits and we’ve never had it in the automotive industry. That’s part, it’s software.”

Farley believes that 17% of the profits from the company’s commercial vehicle business, Ford Pro, comes from parts and services, potentially reaching 30% in two years.

Ford’s success also means building a full lineup of “emotional brands” such as the Bronco SUV and Mustang Muscle Cars.

Finally, “Assuming China worldwide to prove that it can win against BYD in Australia and Thailand…that’s what the market is looking for.”

Other key points

Farley first worked on the Essential Economy in June during a discussion with biographer and historian Walter Isaxon (who wrote a biography about Steve Jobs and Elon Musk) at the Aspen Idea Festival in Colorado.

There he gave a speech about assessing the working class and why investing in skilled trading is what he sees as America’s future.

Farley said on September 30 that Ford had heard from professional clients every day that “they are suffering from staffing issues,” which has led to a lack of productivity. He also said that Ford dealers were affected, “This morning, our dealers have 6,000 empty stalls and no engineers can work.”

He said he can’t stand the people who observe the problem and it’s time to gather the best minds to solve the problem. Farley proposed on September 30 that the solution to the problem would ease the process permit, spend more on vocational training, and block blue-collar work.

Farley said he had an epiphany during the 2023 UAW negotiations. When employees at the entry level factory said they had to do three jobs to achieve their goals, they said, “The old timer is no longer a career, Mr. Farley.” “

Farley said that AI may take away some white-collar jobs in the future, but in the near future, blue-collar jobs will be needed to build cars and factories.

Trump celebrates the 250th anniversary of the Navy as shutdown drags

President Donald Trump welcomed the US Navy during an event commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Navy held at Norfolk Navy Station in Virginia on October 5th, promising members of the military to raise wages, saying that American enemies would “tremble at the sight of a naval ship.”

Celebrating “Marketing 250 Years of Maritime Domination in the United States”! As Trump explained it in the Truth Social Post, it happened amid government shutdowns as servicemen worked unpaid and thousands of federal employees were full.

At the event, Trump blamed the Democrats for the closure and promised service members a “full” salary.

“Despite the current Democrat shutdown, we’ll get a service member for the last penny,” he said. “Don’t worry about that. It’s all coming. It’s coming. And what’s more, I’m also supporting the full salaries of all the sailors and service members of the US military.”

A few days before the event, Trump called out Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer and House Democrat leader Hicombe Jeffries by name as people who place dampers on impasses and celebrations.

“Chuck Schumer, Hakem Jeffries and other radical left Democrats of minority have tried their best to destroy this incredible celebration of the US Navy’s birthday and stop celebrating US Navy history through the outrageous government shutdown.

Wearing a red “American” hat and a red tie, Trump began addressing USS Harry S. Truman with a “Bravo Zul” chant. The president was joined by first lady Melania Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses at the event.

“Every tyrant and enemy on Earth knows their choice,” he said. “It’s very simple. It’s about keeping America in peace or being blown away by fire and rage that you’ve never seen before.”

Trump has also reiterated his pledge to commit $1 trillion in military spending.

UFC Events at the White House

Trump also revealed the date of the White House UFC event in 2026, honoring America’s 250th birthday, which was announced in July. Date: June 14th, matches Trump’s birthday.

“And we’re going to have a big UFC fight at the White House on June 14th next year,” Trump said. “It’s on the White House grounds and on the White House grounds.”

His eldest son, Ivanka Trump, is expected to be involved in planning a historic UFC battle. The White House had previously announced the date for July 4th, 2026.

Trump attended a military parade in Washington, DC on June 14th, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the US military. The event, which coincided with Trump’s 79th birthday and flag day, included thousands of soldiers in uniforms of the past and present, military vehicles, musical performances and fireworks.

The National Hurricane Centre said on October 5 there was a “high” chance for the cyclone formation as tropical waves in the Atlantic approach the Leeward Islands this week.

AL95 has a potential for 70% production over seven days and a potential for 40% production over 48 hours, the NHC said in a tropical weather forecast issued at 2pm ET.

“Environmental conditions seem to encourage additional development of this system, and tropical depression could form this week as the system moves rapidly across the Central Tropical Atlantic,” the outlook reads.

Forecasters say the wide area of low pressure produces turbulent thunderstorms and showers south and southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.

Let’s take a look at the Atlantic and Gulf storms.

Get ready for a hurricane now

Delaying preparations to potentially save lives could mean waiting until it’s too late. “Get disaster supply while the shelves are still in stock and flood insurance requires a 30-day waiting period, so get that insurance inspection early,” the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration recommends.

  • Establish an evacuation plan. If you are at risk from a hurricane, you will need an evacuation plan. Now is the time to plan where you will go and how you will get there.
  • Assemble disaster supply. Whether you’re evacuated or not, you’ll need supplies not only to get through the storm, but perhaps for the long aftermath, NOAA said.
  • Get an insurance inspection and document your property. Contact your insurance company or agent now to ask for an insurance inspection to make sure you have enough insurance to repair or replace your home or belongings. Remember that housing and tenant insurance doesn’t cover floods, so you’ll need individual insurance for them. Flood insurance is available through your company, agent, or through your national flood insurance program.
  • Create a family communication plan. NOAA says you should take the time to write down your hurricane plans and share them with your family. Determine where family gatherings are to be met and include out-of-town locations in case of evacuation.
  • It strengthens your home. Now is the time to improve the home’s ability to withstand hurricanes. Cut the wood, attach storm shutters, accordion shutters, impact glass, and seal the outside of the wall opening.

VA Democrat candidates face text backlash about GOP colleagues

0

Democrat Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones faces scrutiny from both sides of the aisle after texting a former Republican colleague three years ago when a former Virginia Senator spoke to a former Republican colleague who joked that “two bullets should be in their heads.”

His colleague, Republican Del Carrie Coiner, shared a screenshot of his conversation with Jones on August 8, 2022, admitted that he was mistakenly sent to her.

The news of the message was first broken on October 3rd by conservative media outlet National Review.

In a campaign statement, Jones admitted, “Like everyone, I sent a text message that I regret.” He reiterated that “violent rhetoric has no place in our politics.” But he denounced incumbent Republican Jason Miyar, through a media outlet in favour of President Donald Trump and Republicans.

In an email to Progress-Index accompanying the screenshot, Coyner said the message “not only has it been intrusive, but has also been disqualified for those who want to seek public office.

“Jay Jones wanted violence on his colleagues’ children and made a joke about shooting (former speaker) Todd Gilbert, which is not fed up with civil servants,” Coiner said in a statement.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger has released her own statement saying she spoke “candidly” with Jones about the message.

“After learning about these comments early today, I texted Jay and honestly, disgusted by what he said,” she said. “I made it clear to Jay that he must be fully responsible for his words. What I have made is to condemn violent words in our politics as a candidate and as the next governor of our Commonwealth.”

The text message news comes from Republican Dell, Virginia, who plans to kill her with a robotic text that her campaign has been sent to her phone.

What did the message say, reportedly?

The message was sent less than a year after Jones took over as Norfolk’s representative.

According to a screenshot in the text, Jones appears to have been clearly upset by comments attributed to Gilbert about the death of a Democratic representative. Jones accused the representative of leaking information about Virginia House Democrats to the House Republican Caucus.

He initially apologized for accidentally sending a message to Coiner, but later ranted in a rumour comparing Gilbert to former world dictators Adolf Hitler and Polpot. He reportedly mentioned that he wanted to shoot all three of them.

“Three, two bullets. Gilbert, Hitler, Polpot,” he texted. “Gilbert gets two bullets in his head.”

Coiner replied, “Jay, please stop.”

His answer. “Lol. I understand, I understand.”

“When you talk about hurting people or wanting them to die, that really bothers me,” Coiner replied.

Later in the text thread, Jones also reportedly mentions Gilbert’s wife and children.

“Do you think Todd and Jennifer are evil? And are they breeding little fascists?” he said. “yes.”

Jones also reportedly said, “Only when people feel pain personally, they will move forward with policies.”

‘reckless’

Jones’ campaign released the entire statement after the National Review published the story.

“Like everyone, I texted myself that I regret. I believe that violent rhetoric has no place in politics.” “Let’s be clear what’s going on with Attorney General right now. Jason Miyares is dropping smears through the media organization controlled by Trump to attack my character and save his desperate campaign.

Miyares is called “reckless and biased and willing to take away his integrity” in a statement from X called Jones.

“My job is to stop violence, protect innocent lives, keep people safe. I can’t imagine anyone running for this job defending violence,” he said.

The Republican Attorney General Meeting, where Miyares is a member, had to say a lot in its own statement.

“There is no place for political violence, especially those jokes from elected officials,” Kansas Attorney General and Raga Chairman Chris Kobach said in a statement. “Jay Jones should drop out of the Attorney General’s race. His comments are not accepted by anyone who wants to represent law enforcement.

Newsom says he will su Trump for sending the CA National Guard to Portland

0

play

WASHINGTON – California Governor Gavin Newsom sued President Donald Trump, claiming that the chief commander deployed 300 California National Guard troops in Oregon.

“After federal court blocked an attempt to federate the Oregon National Guard, Donald Trump has deployed 300 California National Guard personnel in Oregon. They’re there right now,” Newsom said in an October 5th post on X, adding that he’s “returning this fight back to court.”

Newsom’s comments come after a federal judge temporarily blocked Trump from deploying 200 Oregon National Guard troops in Portland on October 4th. The decision was made in response to a September 28 lawsuit from the office of Dunleyfield, the Democratic Attorney General of Oregon.

The lawsuit comes the day after Trump said he would send troops to Portland to protect federal immigration facilities from “domestic terrorists” while protesting outside of local ice fields.

Trump-appointed US District Judge Karin Imargat said there was no evidence that the president prevented the president from sending troops until at least October 18th, with the recent protests escalating to the level of rebellion or seriously obstructing law enforcement.

One of the most powerful critics of Democrats of Trump and one of the candidates for the next White House race, Newsom previously accused the Republican administration of being overreached amid the national crackdown on immigration.

“The deployment of California National Guard to Oregon is not about crime,” Newsom said in another post on October 5th.

Trump previously deployed members of the National Guard to Los Angeles to suppress anti-immigrant protests. The president’s extensive immigration efforts were at the heart of the 2024 reelection campaign.

10 common car dashboard warning lights explained

0

play

Imagine driving down the road when the lights suddenly appear on your dashboard.

For some, it’s easy to understand what symbols mean and which actions to take next. But many are unclear as to what they are looking at.

Research by Goodyear Auto Service and Just Tyres shows that young drivers are less familiar with dashboard symbols than emoji symbols. The survey concluded that 88% of young adults can identify emojis, compared to 51% of young adults who can identify vehicle warning signs.

These symbols, often referred to as “idiot lights” (think dummy warning signs), are intended to be easy to understand. But it’s not that easy for many drivers, both young and old.

According to AutoZone, there are 10 dashboard symbols and meanings.

Abdominal light

This symbol indicates that the anti-lock brake computer has set up the code and requires a professional diagnosis.

Glow plug

This symbol is intended only for diesel vehicles, meaning that the engine will be warmer and the driver will not start the engine until the light goes out.

Fog light

When this symbol is activated, the fog light will be illuminated.

Brake system

The Brake System icon indicates one of three potential issues with parking brakes turned on: a braking system issue, or a low liquid, or an ABS issue.

By Ajar

When the car door is open, this icon will confirm that the driver is aware of it. Leave the door open overnight to drain the battery.

Laundry fluid reminder

This symbol indicates low washer fluid. Fill the vehicle’s hood with the washing machine fluid reservoir. A symbol is required for caps that refill the reservoir.

Tire pressure monitoring system

The driver must check the tire pressure or tire sensor operation when this icon is activated. Some vehicles may allow the operator to manually reset the warning light, while others may require service.

Cruise Control

This symbol indicates that cruise control is set while driving.

Battery/Charging Alert

This icon indicates that the voltage level is below the normal level and the vehicle’s charging system is not functioning properly. Autozone recommends checking the battery terminals, alternator belts and battery status.

Engine Cooling System

Engine cooling systems, or coolant temperature warnings, will show light when the temperature exceeds normal limits. Check the fan operation, radiator cap, coolant leak, and coolant level.

When the lights are on, it is generally best to check out the issue. Warning lights don’t always mean the worst. Sometimes the wire may break down or the sensor may be bad.

But taking a chance doesn’t make sense.

If the shutdown says “we’re not going anywhere, the layoffs will start,” the White House says.

0

play

If President Donald Trump decides to negotiate with Congressional Democrats and negotiate with Congressional Democrats to end partial government shutdowns, the Trump administration will launch a massive layoff of federal workers, said Kevin Hassett, director of the White House National Economic Council.

As the shutdown entered its fifth day, Hassett said CNN’s “union status” still had the chance that Democrats could retreat.

“President Trump and Las Vault are putting things in line and ready to act if they have to, but they hope they don’t,” he said.

“If the president decides that negotiations are absolutely not going anywhere, then the layoffs will begin. But I think everyone is still hoping that when they get a fresh start at the beginning of the week, Democrats can see that avoiding such layoffs is merely common sense.”

However, as Trump met with the top leaders of Congress last week, there were no specific signs of negotiations to end the standoff. The closure began on October 1, the start of fiscal year 2026, after Senate Democrats rejected short-term funding measures to keep federal agencies open until November 21st.

Democrats are calling for a permanent extension of the enhanced premium tax credit to help Americans purchase private health insurance through Affordable Care Act and written assurances that the White House will not unilaterally cancel spending in any transaction.

“What we saw is a deep fake video, a house cancelling the vote, and of course, a negotiation through President Trump’s time to go to the golf course yesterday. That’s not responsible action,” House Democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

12 people injured in “mass shooting” in Montgomery, Alabama

0

play

Multiple gunmen fired a large crowd in downtown Montgomery, Alabama, killing two people, including a teenager, and injuring others, officials said.

Montgomery Police Chief James Gravoys said the shootout erupted around 11:30pm on Saturday, October 4th, with multiple shooters involved in the incident. He said one of the victims was targeted and after the first shot was fired, several people began shooting in densely populated areas, beginning to surprise innocent bystanders.

According to Gravoys, a 17-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were killed in the shooting. As of Sunday, October 5th, five victims had remained in hospital with life-threatening injuries. Seven people suffered life-threatening injuries.

The Grey Boys said seven of the victims were under the age of 20 and the youngest was 16.

“We endure all our resources,” he said, adding that the Montgomery Police Department is in contact with former US s-Service, the FBI and Alcohol Bureau, cigarettes, firearms and explosives.

“We don’t intend to stop until this case is resolved,” he said.

Montgomery Mayor Stephen L. Reid said “disagreements” spurred the shootout but did not provide additional details.

The shooting came when thousands of people gathered for the Alabama Fair, the Football Watch Party and Alabama State University’s return home. None of these events were involved in the weekend shooting, Reed said.

“We are praying for the victims of this atrocity. We are praying for their families, their friends. We are praying for our city,” Reid said. “Thousands of people were in the city this weekend, and it only took one or two to change the whole outcome.”

(This story was updated because an earlier version incorrectly stated the number of people injured in the shooting. The incident caused 12 people to be injured.)

The nuclear closure war covers federal employment and subsidies

0

play

  • At this point, Washington is being consumed by assigning responsibility rather than ending government closures.
  • On opening day, Trump uses the closure to freeze billions of people into democratic states with federal grants, threatening federal workers layoffs.
  • For Congressional Democrats, the party’s loudest voice is not about compromise, they want to fight.

And on the fifth day, no one left.

It wasn’t like Washington was consumed on October 5th to try to resume the federal government. The radio waves on Sunday were instead held responsible.

The budget showdown has previously set off this fiscal cliff, but today’s version is a nuclear war of closure, with more explosive impact on the government and more intense incentives to maintain it.

New York House Democrat leader Hakem Jeffries called President Donald Trump’s tactics “outrageous” and “hingeless” during the shutdown.

“Americans are better than lies or attacks than deepfake videos and presidents spend all their time on the golf course,” he said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “We need serious leadership.”

But House Speaker Mike Johnson responded that Democrats are responsible for giving the administration the power to cut federal jobs and freeze grants.

“In a situation like this where Senate Democrats decide to turn the key to the kingdom to the White House, they have to make a tough decision,” the Louisiana Republican told NBC. He said Russell Vote, director of the Office of Management and Budget, “We need to determine what the key programs, policies and personnel are. That’s not a job he enjoys. But he needs to do it by Chuck Schumer.”

Neither side sounded like a compromise. Certainly, Johnson filled the house for the week.

Trump: “Unprecedented Opportunity” to Wise Power

In the past half century, all presidents except George W. Bush and Joe Biden have overcome at least a few days of closure. During their tenure, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama all saw the closure for more than two weeks.

The 35-day record was set during Trump’s first term. The closure ended when it folded a request for more funds to build a wall along the southern border.

The current shutdown is not at least the longest – yet, yet – but has acquired the most widespread and substantial impact of any of them. In a drastic effort in a second term to expand presidency powers, Trump seized the opportunity to threaten federal workers’ layoffs and freeze billions of federal subsidies to largely democratic nations.

“I can’t believe the radical left Democrats have given me this unprecedented opportunity,” the president cried on social media.

That might help explain why Trump didn’t rush to negotiate a contract with Democratic Congressional leaders. “Donald Trump is in the Presidential Witness Protection Program,” Jeffries complained. “No one can find him.”

As the closure looms, Trump told reporters that instead of simply raiding them like the previous closures, it could launch a “huge number” of federal workers. He vowed to target “Democrats” and “Democrat agencies.”

In the early days of the shutdown, his administration frozen $18 billion in federal funds for New York City’s major infrastructure projects, put on hold $2.1 billion in funds for the Chicago Transit Project, and cut nearly $8 billion in energy sector grants in 16 states.

Incidentally, all these states were carried by Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

For Democrats, complex political calculations

For Democrats, some of the incentives today are fighting rather than compromise.

The party’s core supporters have exacerbated their Congressional leaders by failing to effectively stand up to Trump during his second term’s dizzy months.

In an NPR/Malist poll conducted in late September, fewer than half of Democrat voters, and less than 48%, approved Job, which Congressional Democrats had done. In contrast, 87% of Republicans approved the work that Congressional GOPs were doing.

Furthermore, Democrat voters are increasingly ruined for the fight. 47% say it’s more important for parliament members to stand on principles, even if it meant a government shutdown. That’s the ocean change from the vote before the 2013 closure, when Democrats compromised 4-1.

When Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer avoided the closure in May, he faced an explosion of protest from the party’s most liberal voices and speculation that New York State Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez might challenge his reelection campaign in 2028.

So far, his tone has been indomitable.

“Well, look, sometimes there are a lot of differences,” Schumer said on CNN. Democrats are demanding Medicaid cuts be restored, with healthcare subsidies being extended. Republicans say they won’t negotiate during the closure. “They seem to be more interested in protecting the Epstein Files than protecting the American people and their health care.”

Early votes by news organizations showed that Americans were more responsible for Republican closures than Democrats, but margins were not overwhelming. One in four responded that they were not sure who had to take responsibility.

However, they said about one in three had been decided: they denounced both sides.

  • The top five teams, including Oregon and Miami (Fla.) have not changed since the previous week.
  • Texas and Pennsylvania State fell sharply in their rankings following unexpected losses.
  • Virginia and Memphis are new additions to this week’s top 25 polls.

As I have said many times, there’s nothing like a late week in college football. Some unexpected results sent a considerable shockwave through polls of US LBM coaches.

However, the top five has not been changed, led by No. 1 Ohio State. The Buckeyes passed Minnesota and won 59 of the 66 votes this week. The second Oregon, who took a weekend off, was first selected by three voters. No. 3 Miami (Fla.) also won three No. 1 nods after terrifying the Archdiocese of Florida. Mississippi has also finished their open dates, with home winners against Mississippi, Texas A&M continuing to round out the top five, with the Aggies claiming their final No. 1 vote.

Top 25: After the 6th week, we will complete the LBM Coaches Poll Story.

The change starts in sixth place thanks to the Great Barbulls of Pennsylvania and Texas. Oklahoma inherits the sixth spot on the eve of the Red River Showdown against the Longhorns, who will fall into 12th place after a loss in Florida. Indiana has taken several positions to check in at No. 7 on a trip to Oregon on the deck. Alabama returns to the top 10 at No. 8 after his death to Vanderbilt last season, followed by Georgia and Texas Tech.

Pennsylvania is unsure of UCLA, which has not been previously won and is currently ranked 22nd.

Virginia will win its second overtime victory in a few weeks, and will be playing the ballot on No. 24. Memphis was the first team to reach six wins to qualify for the bowl, and placed 25th and pushed out Utah, who held the final rankings in the previous poll. Florida is another dropout of the week.

Chicago’s Border Patrol agents shot an armed woman after she and a group of people plunged her into a vehicle used by US immigrants and customs enforcement agents, authorities said protests intensified and the Trump administration vows to deploy federal forces to Democrats’ bases.

The woman, a US citizen identified as Marimar Martinez, was armed with a “semi-automatic weapon” and was shot dead on Saturday, October 4th, before being driven to hospital for treatment. She was discharged from the hospital and was taken into custody by the FBI.

DHS Deputy Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement that the woman was appointed last week at intelligence news speed on charges of “doxing agent.” Another person accused of plunging into an ice car, Anthony Ian Santos Lewis, was also taken into custody in Chicago.

The incident occurred in Broadview, the western outskirts of the city that became a flashpoint for protests over strengthened immigration enforcement. Several protesters were arrested over the weekend and several border patrol agents were sent to hospitals after clashes outside the Broadview Ice facility, according to the DHS.

The protest escalates amid Trump’s strengthened deportation campaign

Chicago has seen massive attacks that include helicopters and masked agents since last month when the White House ordered the crackdown on immigrants known as Operation Midway Blitz. More than 800 people have been arrested, according to federal tallies.

For weeks, hundreds have been protesting outside the Broadview ice facility, with protesters blocking ice vehicles and federal agents deploying pepper spray, tear gas and non-lethal ammunition.

After DHS agents were fired at Martinez, Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem vowed to send reinforcements and special operations to the scene.

Trump plans to send hundreds of National Guard to Chicago.

On Saturday, October 4th, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker warned that President Donald Trump’s administration is planning to federate 300 members of the Illinois State Guard.

“The Trump administration’s War Bureau gave me an ultimatum: call on your army or will we do?” Pretzker wrote to X:

Trump has deployed National Guard in other democratically operated cities, including Los Angeles and Washington, and is taking on the move being challenged by courtrooms.

A federal judge appointed by Trump over the weekend has stopped the Trump administration from sending National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon, but lawsuits on the matter will pass court.

If Hamas maintains Gaza power, Trump warns of “complete erasure”

play

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump has warned of a “complete erasure” if Hamas insists on maintaining power in Gaza, as negotiations are set to end a bloody war between Israel and Palestinian extremist groups are set this week.

Hamas said on October 3 that he agreed to release all living or dead Israelis hostages under the conditions of Trump’s 20-point Gaza Peace Plan and is expected to enter mediation negotiations to discuss Egyptian details.

According to the text of the proposal, Gaza will also be redeveloped with the option of Palestinians wanting to stay in the country. Hamas fighters will get pardon and the territory will come under temporary governance by a new Palestinian commission, which will be overseen by the “Committee of Peace.” Trump personally chaired the panel along with other foreign leaders, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The group also agreed to hand over the control of the Gaza Strip to an independent Palestinian body and said it was willing to discuss other aspects of Trump’s proposal as part of the much-anticipated talks.

But what was missing from the response was a commitment to not play a role in Gaza governance. When asked by CNN’s Jake Tapper what would happen if Hamas insisted on staying power, Trump wrote via text message, “Full ofliteration!”

The world is holding its breath for a potential ceasefire deal in the region, but Hamas’ response quickly frowned upon among American lawmakers. Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsay Graham wrote to X that Hamas’ reaction to Trump’s plan was “unfortunately unpredictable” and “classic “yes.”

“Disarmament is also putting Gaza under Palestinian control, linking the release of hostages to negotiations and tying them along with other issues,” Graham wrote. “This is essentially Hamas’ rejection of President Trump’s proposal to “take it or leave it.” ”

When Tupper asked if Graham was wrong, Trump replied, “We’ll know. Only time will know!!!”

Trump also said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has concluded his bombing campaign in Gaza and has made Trump’s peace proposal a reality. He said he knew “quickly” whether Hamas was really committed to peace, but he didn’t immediately provide any additional details.

Israel began attacking Gaza on October 7, 2023 after Israel’s Hamas-led attack on Israel. According to Israeli tally, around 1,200 people were killed and 251 were taken hostage.

Israeli forces have killed more than 67,000 people in Gaza, according to Gaza health authorities.

Inside how RAM revives the Hemi V8 engine with top secret operation

0

play

  • During the 2025 model year, RAM stopped providing HEMI engines for 1500-class pickup trucks.
  • Lam’s bossim Kuniskiss, who has left his job and has launched a top secret program to regain Hemi in the 2026 model year.
  • RAM enlisted a team of engineers and employees who revived Hemi in just six months. This is far from the 18-month timeline that engineers faced first.

Stellantis makes cars, but in many cases the company’s inspiration comes from the battlefield.

Hellcat engine? It was named after Warplane. Hemi motor? The Chrysler Fighter Jet, inspired by the courage of World War II. Jeep Commander, gladiator, Renegade, Rubicon? Their nomenclature speaks for itself.

The company has one more thing to add to the lineage of war-flavored projects. A group of professional engineers, coded “F-15” in honor of one of the world’s fastest fighters since January, has revised their decision to ram the pickup truck and cancel the motor for the 2025 model model on a secret mission to reintroduce the legendary HemiV8 engine.

Marty Jagoda, one of such engineers on the F-15 project, said the process was “reminiscent of the way we did business years ago when (RAM) was taking the name by kicking the butt.”

From being on the shelves in 2024 to returning to the scene in the 2026 model year, Hemi has come to life on the truck this year thanks to a group of middle-aged With Kids.

“We made an error.”

Nick Cappa, head of RAM Communications, said that when asked why the brand killed Hemi for a mild truck in the first place, he left the tight flame closed and submitted that “it made an error and we fixed it quickly.”

In 2024, RAM launched an overhauled product lineup. Its lightweight pickup, which is in the 1500 class, does not have a Hemi V8 under the hood. For management, that change makes sense. The Hemi alternative is a turbocharged, inline six-cylinder engine called the Hurricane (still available for the 2026 model year) that can be stronger and more fuel efficient than the Hemi.

However, for some customers, the change from eight cylinders to six would have been a disaster, without the Hemi option.

When RAM resumed HEMI across its product lineup in June, RAM CEO Tim Kuniskis said it was the reason why hemi was revived, not by a sales number.

“(Buyers) hate the fact that we have taken away our freedom of choice,” Kuniskis said at a media event in June. “We as Americans, perhaps more truck buyers said, ‘This is the choice you get, and this is the engine you take.’ Whether it’s more power, more efficient or not, are you not taking away my choice? ”

Lamb was also aware of President Donald Trump’s reduction in emissions restrictions. So getting the engine back was one of Kuniskis’ first decisions after returning to work after a six-month “retirement”. The CEO left in June 2024 and returned in December of the same year. Later, he told Free Press, a part of the USA Today network, “I didn’t have to retire. I needed a break. I needed a break.”

Reviving Hemi for Ram’s light work truck became a top priority.

“So everyone was like, ‘Oh, what a goddamn, you’re going to bring Hemi back to things, it’s going to take three days,'” Kuniskis said as he unveiled the new Hemi in June.

“No,” he said.

The 3-day estimate was hilarious. Rethinking the engine that spent decades under the hood of a ram truck was not as simple as it sounds.

It took every six months to prepare for the following year model year, but according to Kuniskis, it would take a year and a half.

18 months? How about 6?

Kuniskis has built a dream team of engineers and designers to bring back the 2026 model year motors.

To lead the effort, he tapped Daryl Smith, a longtime Stellantis leader who previously oversaw the development of the company’s performance vehicle segment. Smith and Jagoda, who also came from the SRT lineage, were well versed in moving fast, whether they were close timelines or behind the Dodge Devil’s wheels, to bring the Hemi home.

Jagoda described the official title of the special project’s vice president as useful and inexplicable. In particular, in the Hemi Campaign, he and his companions, like the Lamb Engineer Dance Tagner, were able to wrap and leave the newly revived Hemi covered and pull it apart.

Jagoda, the charming storyteller with pointy hair, and Stagner, a clean cut brain trust of everything, laid out how they pulled away from the mission for the free press.

Jagoda said the motto was to exhaust all the measures. Make that extra call, work another hour, do it all, and get your vehicle ready to launch in early summer.

According to Jagoda, the project was green light in December. He said he was receiving a backup call and text from a colleague on Christmas Eve.

The F-15 team held several preliminary meetings on New Year’s Day, “it was supposed to be 15-20, maybe 30 minutes.” “They went for two and a half hours.”

Stellantis never stopped production of the HEMI engine. This was still available in the heavy-duty segments of Dodge Durango and Ram. So we’re just going to increase production and drop the engine into a new body, right?

It’s not that fast. literally.

According to Stagner, the problem was that new electronics made the process more complicated.

When Lam bids Adieu to Hemi in 2025, the brand updated most of the truck’s electronic construction. Stagner said more than 12 “nodes” have been developed for the Ram Track, improving the security and bandwidth of the vehicle’s electrical components.

As Stagner says, new electronics must communicate with the engine. As simple as telling the engine to stop when the brakes drop, it brought a challenge.

“We had to let Hemi talk to the new electronics,” Stagner said. The new electronics never “speak” Hemi, and Hemi did not speak the language of the new technology.

“It was very intense,” Jagoda recalled recently at the Chrysler Certified Celebration site in Chelsea, whipping other journalists with new trucks. “Sometimes, it’s literally eight hours, ten hours on a computer, a meeting on a computer, a meeting on a phone (all at the same time), and again, it means making sure you haven’t missed anything.”

There’s no ice, he won’t say

The project began in January. By mid-February, the F-15 team had a working hemi-driven ram track. But that was just the beginning.

The crew still had to overcome another important obstacle. To bring your car to the market, you will need to test it on a variety of road conditions, including ice, snow, and rain.

But by late February, they had gotten a burner as RAM was preparing to test it in winter conditions at a facility in Raco, a town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so they got their hands on the burner,” Jagoda said.

An unusually warm February series – Weather Archives show warmer highs than the frozen heights in a 5-day stretch at nearby Sault Cent. Marie US Weather Station – A truck at the Smithers Winter Test Center was melting ice and snow.

The F-15 had a track to test, but there was no place to test it.

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards Tests were also approaching. It was scheduled to be completed in July in New Zealand, the 2026 model year truck. RAM had to test the vehicle locally and make everything perfect. Before that, everything had to be perfected before shipping to far-reaching destinations, where the Western Hemisphere enjoys summer and provides winter conditions at the same time.

It will take five weeks to ship a bundle of halfton trucks to New Zealand. It was a precious little time. Considering that it took me 10 weeks to get back there.

But that was the first thing that happened to the team. Complete the cold climate challenges in Michigan.

“Mother Nature threw bones at us,” Jagoda said with a deep breath. “The first week of March, that changed…it’s cold again.”

The problem was that the North Upper Test Centre was closed – the season was closed.

“We had to do that, right? So we made the extra call,” Jagoda said. “They gave us the keys to the building. … Without that extra call, we wouldn’t be here.”

According to Jagoda, the owners of the test facility were given F-15 access, allowing the team to complete local testing and development, complete communication between the engine and brakes, and ship “fully representative, ready-to-mount” trucks to New Zealand in July for federal verification testing.

The “One Night Reconnaissance Mission” started small, but needed others to carry it out

According to Jagoda, the F-15 program began as a “top secret” program known to small groups that grew in size as the demand for convenience became apparent.

“We need stakeholders from all of us. We had to buy to get the parts back. We needed engineers to build the truck.

Joe Smith, who works at Shap in the Product Launch program, was one of a team of workers who looped into a quiet campaign to build the first pilot vehicle of the 2026 RAM 1500s.

“We’ve been building that truck for years,” said Smith, a member of the UAW Local 1700. Shap workers have built over 2 million RAM 1,500 since the products were first brought to the factory in 2018.

“We’ve got some of the best people building trucks here at 1700 or SHAP,” Smith said. For him and his team, making a hemi-powered truck is “like riding a bike for these guys and some of the gals.”

When Smith and about 50 of his colleagues were first explained about the project in January, “It was really hard to keep everyone quiet,” Smith said. “We hated seeing the car go because it was so good for us over the years. It was a relief that came back.”

According to RAM, customers were relieved too. RAM reported that 24 hours after it began ordering for the 2026 hemi-driven 1500s, the company saw more than 10,000 people.

Myles Strong, SHAP’s manufacturing chief engineer, said the facility was “full speed” for the production of new hemis to meet demand. Strong oversaw the reintroduction of Hemi and was pleased to report that the factory was smoothly adjusted to meet the demands of new work.

Better than smooth sailing, Strong is the feeling he gets when he hears the hemming.

“For the first time I was passing by and I just heard it boot up and I knew I was groaning and literally got goosebumps,” Strong said. “That’s because we realised what it means to us, what it means to the plants and what it means to the company.”

Smith and Strong were sensitive to secrets before others, but a full confirmation of Hemi’s comeback didn’t come until early June, when the F-15 was putting the finishing touches on 2026 Hemi-powered RAM before taking it to the first open road.

As Jagoda says, the F-15 ran a “overnight reconnaissance mission” at 5am and got the truck – from Shap to Chrysler HQ to preview the new trucks of the media, undoubtedly humming with the Hemi exhaust sound. They drove them out of the “tunnels and caves” in the early morning. At the same time, it was during the shift change in Shap. As new trucks unfolded, they were walking through the workforce.

They knew what they were seeing right away.

“Their hands were in the air… They said, ‘Oh, my god, that’s real,’ and added that he remembers the workers who were screaming, hearing Hemi complaining with a V8 badge stuck on the fender.

“My hair is standing up in my hands. “It was a moment for the people who make trucks. It was a moment that we felt in our company.”

Check out the top 10 most banned books in America

0

play

Banned Books Week has launched, with the top challenge list of this year dominating the new title.

Banned Books Week will be on October 5th-11th, with this year’s theme: “Censorship is 1984. Read Your Rights.” This theme is inspired by George Orwell’s “1984.” It is a dystopian novel that tells the story of a man trying to break away from the oppressive regime of society. Although the novel is set in 1984 (the book was published in 1949), Freedom Advocates argues that the increase in banned books today is similar to the censorship shown in Orwell’s work.

Despite the rise in book bans, polls show that most Americans disagree with them. A 2022 American Library Association poll found that 71% of the 1,000 people surveyed were opposed to the book ban efforts.

Research shows that those who supported the ban stated that “we need to protect young people from books that may be upsetting or that they need to reflect ideologies and lifestyles that are out of mainstream.”

Thousands of books are challenged every year. Let’s take a look at the titles that have been the most banned in the past year.

What is Banned Books Week?

Banned Books Week is a move to celebrate the freedom of reading, focusing on censoring literature in libraries, schools and bookstores. The week of recognition began in 1982, created in response to the surge in these challenges, according to the American Library Association.

What are the top 10 most banned books?

According to Penn America, the 10 most challenging books for the 2024-2025 academic year were:

  1. “Clockwork Orange” by Anthony Burgess
  2. “Getting out of breath” by Jennifer Niven*
  3. “Sales” by Patricia McCormick*
  4. “Last night at The Telegraph Club” Malinda Lo
  5. “The Court of Fog and Anger” by Sarah J. Mars
  6. “Crank” by Ellen Hopkins†
  7. “Eternal…” by Judy Bloom †
  8. “Personal benefits of being a wallflower” by Stephen Cibosky †
  9. “Evil Things: The Life and Era of the Evil Witch of the West” by Gregory Maguire
  10. George M. Johnson, “All Boys Are Not Blue”

*Title Nos. 2 and 3 have been tied up. †Title Nos 6, 7, 8, and 9 have been linked.

“All Boys Are Not Blue,” “Persons of Being a Wallflower,” “Cranks,” and “Sales” were also featured in the top 10 books on the American Library Association’s 2024 list.

How many books were banned in 2024?

The number of target book titles for 2024 depends on the source.

The American Library Association says 2,452 unique book titles were challenged in 2024, while Penn America recorded 3,752 unique titles. These differentiated numbers are based on how the two organizations ban trackbooks.

Top how are banned books tracked?

Penn America and the American Library Association tracks banned books in a slightly different way.

In addition to the number of unique titles affected, Pen tracks the number of assignments each year. This latter number is large, as it occupys all the challenges, even if the title of the same book.

Regarding Penn’s methodology, according to Penn’s website, the organization “analyses all related news articles on school library books, curriculum, classroom library assignments, restrictions and prohibitions. The organization also consults the district’s website and letters sent to the school district to address librarians, authors and teachers.

The American Library Association similarly compiles the list and analyzes news articles published in the United States and reports submitted by library experts.

Both Penn and the American Library Association have allowed reporting restrictions. Booking unreported issues and bans has not been addressed by the organization. And as the book ban continues quickly, it is difficult for organizations to maintain all of them.

Furthermore, PEN only looks at snapshots of books that were deleted within a year, so previously banned books do not create a list of organizations.

Government Shutdown Live Updates, Things You Need to Know About Federal Workers

0

play

WASHINGTON – The federal government shutdown entered a new week on Sunday as Democrats delved further into medical demands that President Donald Trump and Republicans refuse to entertain them.

The final major moment in negotiations was to rule out the House until November 21, after Senate Democrats blocked the Republican bill for the fourth time on Friday.

Trump punished Democratic bases using the first three days of the closure and withheld around $26 billion in federal funds from 16 Democratic-led states and cities in New York and Chicago.

But the Trump administration has yet to launch widespread shootings of federal workers that the president has repeatedly threatened.

Approximately 750,000 federal employees, from national park workers to financial regulators, could get bored under the closure, withholding around $400 million in daily compensation, according to the Non-partisan Congressional Budget Office.

Other workers in government services, such as military members and law enforcement, deemed “essential” will continue to work, but will not be paid until a transaction is reached.

The Social Security Administration will continue to issue retirement and disability benefits, but it will hit 12% of staff and suspend marketing campaigns, according to agency closure plans.

Similarly, payments will continue under the Medicare and Medicaid health programs.

Around 750,000 federal workers are filled up amid the closure.

Democrats advocated fundraising bills to reopen the government, rebounding Medicaid cuts that Republicans passed this summer, expanding subsidies for the Affordable Care Act, which is set to expire at the end of the year.

The White House called for Democrats to vote with Republicans to pass a clean bill to reopen government, saying Republicans will negotiate health policy before subsidies expire.

But Trump has not said whether he supports extended grants related to the Affordable Care Act, or the signature laws of former President Obama, which Republicans have long tried to dismantle.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-Louisiana, announced Friday that his lawmakers will leave town for another week and leave the Senate to resolve the government’s closure.

The move comes after Senate Democrats rejected a proposal to spend House.

The House was scheduled to return on October 7th, but the clerk announced in a short session that Johnson had extended what he called the “district work period” when lawmakers return to their hometown until October 13th.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer has denounced Johnson’s decision. “Johnson and House Republicans are more interested in protecting the Epstein Files than protecting Americans,” he said.

Bad Bunny’s “SNL” monologue covers Fox News, Super Bowl Backlash

“Saturday Night Live” is back and will be turning off Season 51 on October 4th with Bad Bunny as a host.

“It’s good to be back. This is my second host and my fourth time here,” Bud Bunny said in his opening monologue. “I think Marcello (Hernandez) is nervous that Lorne (Michaels) has a new favorite Latino.”

The Reggaeton star first performed his duties in 2023, achieved viral success (remember Pedro Pascal Skit?), and most recently appeared on the show as a musical guest for the season 50 finale in May. Bad Bunny’s second stint on “SNL” comes just a week after he announced that he would win the 2026 Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show, the biggest stage of music.

“You may not know this, but I’m doing a Super Bowl halftime show and I’m very happy,” he said. “I think everyone is happy about it, even Fox News.”

Bad Bunny makes a statement against Super Bowl rebound, ice threat

The NFL criticism of choosing Bad Bunny to perform at next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show was quick, following the September 28 surprise announcement. For some, USA Today opinion writer Sara Pequeño wrote, “a move that goes against American values (ironically considering Puerto Rico is part of the United States).

“Does this guy really scream American football at anyone?” Robbie Starbuck, a conservative influencer, was posted on X. “This is not about music, it’s about putting people on the stage who hate Trump and Maga.”

Earlier this week, an advisor to President Donald Trump said immigrants and customs enforcement could be in the Super Bowl over Bad Bunny’s performance. Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s former 2016 campaign manager, has spoken out about YouTuber Benny Johnson’s podcast.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claimed that the administration would send immigrant staff to Levi’s stadium in Santa Clara, California, calling the NFL “very weak” because of performer choices. “It’s your responsibility to make sure everyone who goes to the Super Bowl has a chance to enjoy it and leave safely. That’s what America is about,” Noem said. “We’re all over the place.”

After dealing with the backlash, Bad Bunny intentionally continued his monologue in Spanish, thanking Latin fans for their support. “If you don’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn,” he said.

John Ham makes a surprising cameo with a Bad Bunny monologue

“This time I’m just hosting because I need a rest,” Bud Bunny noted how he’s taken double duty as a host and music guest in the past. “I’ve just finished my 31 shows residency in Puerto Rico. The show is three hours long and I’m a bit tired because there are so many complicated choreography like this…”

“I think he’s a bit obsessed with me.”

Who else appeared in the “SNL” premiere?
