Nick Saban says Bill Belichick is full of “gameday” and “expletive”

Bill Belichick made his “College Gemedae” debut Saturday as headman for the North Carolina football program, attacking it in an on-field interview.

The exterior included former Alabama coach and “College Gemedae” host Nick Saban giving Nick Saban credit for the “bad lot” information the former NFL coach learned alongside the Cleveland Browns. According to Saban, that is clearly not true.

“We didn’t always think we were friends. I say you’re full (exped).” “I learned more from you than you learned from me.”

But what has Belichick learned from Saban over the years? Going back day by day with the Cleveland Browns, this is what the first year Tar Heels coach had to say. Saban served as Belichick’s defensive coordinator in Cleveland from 1991 to 1994.

“I learned awful lot from Coach Saban. We came from different defensive systems and integrated them in Cleveland. I learned a lot from him. We didn’t do much in New York (with the Jets).

“It was a great experience to see Nick handle free agents and embrace and build the program in Alabama, and I am extremely grateful for the relationship I have for everything he and I have learned from him.

Belichick is now building his own program in Chapel Hill along with the Tar Heels, his first college football coaching job in his illustrious career. Despite being 2-2 in the season and having two defeats to four opponents in TCU and UCF, Belichick said at “College Gamema Day” that he believes the program is making progress and is looking at class recruitment as a way to build a foundation for success.

North Carolina is making its biggest test to date against another struggling team, Clemson at noon at Kennan Memorial Stadium under Belichick on Saturday. The Tar Heels victory on October 4th was not only the biggest victory of the budding Belichick era, but also snaps the skid who lost six games to the Tigers.

Epic Universe Coaster is back after death raises safety concerns

  • The Universal Orlando roller coaster is reopened after guests are found to not respond when they board and later die.
  • Prosecutors ruled death in an accident caused by “multiple blunt shock injuries.”
  • Universal said in its review it found the ride system was working properly and staff followed the procedure.

This story has been updated to include statements from Crump and the Rodriguez Zavala family.

Universal Orlando’s Stardust Racer will resume in epic space on Saturday, October 4th, just over two weeks after the theme park guest died.

32-year-old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala was found to not respond to Stardust Racer’s roller coaster after riding late September 17th.

Irwin shared that a comprehensive technical and operational review confirmed that the ride system was working properly when the ride was returned to the station. They also added that team members followed the procedure throughout.

“Our extensive reviews were conducted in close collaboration with local officials, and Florida observed the tests and reviewed the results,” Irwin said. “In addition, record ride system manufacturers and independent third-party roller coaster engineering experts conducted their own on-site testing to verify the findings.”

Irwin said safety is a top priority and to further assist guests in determining whether or not they can ride the charm, the park is “updating operational procedures and attraction signs to enhance existing rides and physical eligibility requirements for Stardust Racers and other rides.”

This adds that Rodriguez Zavala’s family and lawyer Ben Crump held a press conference claiming he missed “multiple warning signs” ahead of Rodriguez’s death, adding that he is aware of concerns about the safety of the ride.

“The multiple Stardust Racer riders who have advanced to our family and our offices will make us believe that Kevin’s case is not an isolated incident,” Crump said Tuesday, September 30th.

What happened to Kevin Rodriguez Zavala? What caused the death?

Rodriguez, 32, had been visiting a park near Orlando, but after riding it, he found himself unresponsive on a roller coaster. In an incident report shared with USA Today Network-Florida on Friday afternoon, deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a medical emergency at the theme park around 9:20pm.

Audio shared by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office told the OCSO Communications Center that it was responding to a guest who had a laceration and was “not breathing” (later identified as Rodriguez).

Universal Orlando Health Services and OCFRD were performing CPR at Rodriguez when deputies arrived. OCSO said Rodriguez was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was declared to have died at 10:05pm.

An Orange County medical inspector told USA Today Thursday evening that “multiple blunt shock injuries” were the cause of death. It is controlled as an accident. A Sheriff’s Office case report said Rodriguez Zabara had an existing spinal injury and was taking medication.

“Previous investigations confirmed that Kevin suffered a head injury while riding and was unconscious for most of the ride,” they confirmed that Rodriguez had a laceration, said last week.

The family said multiple witnesses described the chaotic scene in which Rodriguez collapsed everywhere and blood fell. Many argue that employees appear useless and unprepared to deal with emergencies.

Crump said that he requested Universal to provide video of the incident, but has been denied so far.

Are the Crump and the Rodriguez Zabara family working to resume their rides?

Crump and the Rodriguez Zavala family shared a statement to USA Today Florida on October 3rd.

Stardust Racer is evidence in the investigation of aggressive deaths. Resuming a ride before experts examine all components can be examined to find out that pure spacing of evidence, a serious risk to public safety and benefits people’s lives. Universal reportedly told employees that the ride worked as intended. If that’s accurate, the design itself is fatal. We are demanding that the universal reopening be suspended, preserve all evidence and allow experts to inspect it. If they refuse, we will deal with Universal’s calm behavior in court,” Crump said.

Kevin’s parents, Carlos Rodriguez Ortiz and Anna Zavala, said:

What is a Stardust Racer? Where is the Stardust Racer?

Stardust Racers is a dual-launch racing coaster located in the magnificent space celestial park section. It reaches a speed of 62 mph, rises to 133 feet in the air, and runs along a 5,000-foot track.

The coaster begins with two powerful launches, the other heads towards the end of the ride. The two trucks ski multiple times while riding during the “Celestial Spin.”

How commonly are Stardust Racers closed?

The ride was closed after the incident on September 17th and had not been reopened.

The family of Rodriguez Zavala requested that the attraction be kept closed, investigating what happened and ensuring that the incident would never happen again. It is unclear whether the investigation has been completed.

Universal settles different lawsuits over Stardust Racer injuries

Notice of settlement and notification of voluntary dismissal of bias in relation to defendants were filed on September 26th in a separate lawsuit relating to Stardust Racer, Wesh TV reported.

Sandi Streets filed a negligence lawsuit in Orlando on September 24th, seeking damages in excess of $50,000. The lawsuit alleges that she was injured while riding a Stardust Racer roller coaster.

According to a complaint obtained by USA Today Network-Florida, Streets was invited to the epic universe on April 30, weeks before its official release on May 22. In Stardust Racer, Street’s “head shaking violently and hit the seat headrest while riding” caused permanent injuries.

“zip coding” is a new trend in dating. Is it ruining your love life?

0

play

There are two debates about brewing rezoning. One concerns politics. Another may include your love life.

In the world of dating, people are “zip coding.” This is a practice that involves dating only people within a specific postal code. Zip coding can take a variety of forms depending on who you ask. In the most common version, people set such a harsh radius in their dating app filters to prevent them from meeting people outside their zip code.

For some, zip coding is even further. They date someone exclusively while the person is in their area, but when the person is outside their zip code they consider themselves single. Think about monogamous university students during the school year. Or, they only have boyfriends while they are together at summer camp.

It all speaks of Amy Chan, a dating coach and author of “Breakup Bootcamp: The Science of Your Heart,” taking over the date and obsessed with a place where she’s not healthy.

“We expect everything to be coordinated, fast and frictionless, as if love should function like food,” she says. “But that approach can be narcissistic and focuses on what’s appealing to our ego, rather than what’s easiest for us or anything that promotes real connections.”

Truth about “zip coding” and location

“Location, Location, Location” can serve as a guide to your real estate. But should that be the bedrock of a date too?

Of course, there are perks to date someone nearby. But if the location is prioritized above all else – or, as in the case of “zip coder”, it becomes the only criterion to decide to commit to someone – it starts to become a problem.

“When you date first about convenience and second about connections, you’re exclude people for reasons that aren’t really important,” says Chan. “It’s not about being open to love, it’s more about being dominated by the ego.”

This applies to people who are temporarily committed to those nearby. This is the version of zip coding that Chang says reflects today’s ultra-casual approach to dating. “It’s a connection that’s less convenient than commitment, an investment,” she says.

Needless to say, zip coding can lead to serious heartbreak. “It was tough to get through his phone after agreeing to do Zipcode Dating BC at another university,” wrote one Tiktoker.

Fitness instructor Cody Rigsby has put together a version of trends that you temporarily commit to someone while you’re near Tiktok. “

Logan Ury, director of relationship science in dating app hinge and author of the book How To Not Die Alone, previously warned against the dangers of “relationship shopping.” In Chan’s view, “Zip Coding” is just another version of it, no matter what form it takes.

Are you guilty of “zip coding”?

To recover a ZIP coder, it is important to clarify what a contract breaker is actually and what mere preferences are.

Male dating coach Blaine Anderson previously told USA Today that he could understand this by writing three simple lists for himself. Ask yourself, is the place really so important to you? If so, why?

“I just want to focus on key traits that are important in a few years from now, assuming you’re looking for a long-term partner,” Anderson said.

When you start letting go of your difficult rules and look beyond your vision, you may be surprised at the people you meet. Chang recalls how it completely changed her love life when one of her clients stopped being obsessed with zip code.

“My clients had strict ‘downtown only’ rules,” says Chan. “Then she matched a guy who lived in the suburbs. I encouraged her to go to the date. She shared that it was easy to talk to him.

Bluemercury sells skincare and beauty products, and also offers facials and brow styling. Macy’s acquired the company in 2015 with $210 million in cash, and has since added Bluemercury locations within several Macy’s stores, according to the company’s website.

By the end of 2025, the New York-based company will open nine new locations this year. Bluemercury store managers Omnichannel and Strategy spoke to USA Today on October 2nd.

“Bluemercury has opened new locations in major regions and cities, focusing on areas where luxury beauty and spa services are in high demand,” Goldberg says.

Where did Bluemercury open a new location?

According to Goldberg, new locations and relocations this year include:

Bluemercury’s future store opening plan

Goldberg refused to say where the future location would be, but three more openings will be planned for 2025, with details coming out at a later date.

Bluemercury declined to share certain plans for 2026, but said the company will continue to focus on expansion.

According to Goldberg, the company “brings new locations to the coveted US neighborhoods where clients live, work and shop.”

More on Bluemercury

Husband and wife duo Barry and Marla Beck founded Blu-Mulcurry in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC in 1999. The couple said that “blue” represents trust and loyalty, while the god of information, “Mercury” represents the company’s desire to provide honest advice to its customers.

In September 2019, Beck began moving from his leadership role at Bluemercury, Macy’s announced. Two years later, Macy’s announced that Marie Bernstein will join Bluemercury as CEO. Bernstein previously served as CVS Health’s vice president of e-commerce.

To watch College Football Week 6 games, include SEC, ACC rivalry

0

play

October has arrived. In other words, conference play is now in full swing with college football. Week 6 Slate isn’t as packed with marquee contests as the latest menu, but there’s plenty of juicy information to keep us entertained on Saturdays.

Our weekly viewer guide to the most important and potentially compelling matchups starts as often in SEC countries. The lineup also features Primetime rivals, unbeaten clashes at Lone Star State, and meetings where 2024 playoff participants are about to return. Let’s dive in.

Time/TV: 3:30pm and ABC.

Why do you see: The terms “Vanderbilt” and “playoffs” do not usually appear in the same sentence. So, the bold declaration heading into the season of Commodore QB Diego Pavia has caused such a stir. He and his Vandy teammates have the opportunity to back up the notion that they are actually competitors to make 12 fields. Alabama has come back very much to photographs after last week’s victory in Georgia, but the tide did that last year, and the second half of the season has been tough since. Pavia certainly plays his role for Vandy, taking advantage of Te Eli Stowers and RB Sedrick Alexander for a total of 15 TDs. His mobility can be a problem for the tide’s defensive front. This may require assistance from DB Bray Hubbard. Alabama QB Ty Simpson has been hotter since his defeat to Florida. WR Ryan Williams is a constant and massive threat, but his hands sometimes disappoint him. Expect Commodore DB CJ to be heard frequently near the ball.

Why can you be disappointed: This year’s Alabama team wasn’t built to simply show up and win and run a coast. The tide may still do so, but the Commodores have to help them by handing the ball. This feels like it’s another wild ride. Perhaps it’s not a 40-35 song like last season’s encounter in Nashville, but the points should be plentiful again.

Time/TV: 7:30pm and ABC.

Why do you see: The expected top-10 matchups didn’t come to fruition, but the ACC’s Sunshine State showdown will undergo prime-time treatment, which will hardly reduce the level of hype. The urgency of the seminoles can be dialed higher. Seminole QB Thomas Castellanos is not shy about taking off, but has been subject to delay and suffered considerable punishment. As Miami de Reuben Bain wants to put out more of it, he might want RB Gavin Sawchuk to do heavy lifting in the ground game. Hurricanes QB Carson Beck and his long-ball threat were largely checked on their final outing against Florida, but RB Mark Fletcher helped out some tough yards. He will be needed again as DBS Ja’bril Rawls and Jerry Wilson actively patrol Florida’s secondary.

Why can you be disappointed: Both teams are not immune to turnover bugs, so it is likely that they can dig into the early holes. Both crimes are equipped to stage a comeback if it occurs, but a close overall contest is more likely.

Time/TV: ESPN at 7pm.

Why do you see: Perhaps the quietest unbeaten team in the Power Conference, the Cougars won’t be quiet if they can beat one of the early favourites of the wide open Big 12, the Red Raiders. Houston had to work harder than he wanted to win last week’s victory at Oregon State. He’ll want to move the offense a little faster this time, but Texas Tech LB Jacob Rodriguez might have something to say about it. The Red Raiders should rest after an impressive victory in Utah two weeks ago. QB Behren Morton is expected to start after leaving that game early with a neck injury, but the strong performance of freshman backup should give the team confidence if Morton experiences complications. WR Coy Eakin and Te Terrance Carter Jr. lead a deep group of pass catchers, but the Cougars snatched five intercepts.

Why can you be disappointed: In theory, Texas Tech is more combat-tested and can give the Cougars the first taste of adversity. However, if Houston succeeds in the drive’s results early, they will need to play the game for 60 minutes.

Time/TV: 7:30pm, NBC.

Why do you see: The Golden Gopher was able to defend his home’s grass and start playing the Big Ten with his right foot, surpassing Rutgers. This challenge goes up a few orders of magnitude as you head towards the horseshoe to face the top-ranked Buckeyes. Minnesota QB Drakery will become the next signalling caller to try and resolve the Buckeyes’ championship caliber defense. The Ohio State violation may still be unexplored. It’s a scary idea as QB Julian Sayyne has already completed the pass with 78% of the clips. Freshman RB Bo Jackson appeared as another weapon, giving Gophers LBS Devon Williams and Maverick Baranowski more to think about it.

Why can you be disappointed: If this is a week, the Buckeyes offense can get out of first quarter funk, but things can be decided in a short period of time. Minnesota must be near perfect. This wasn’t the time to play away from home.

Time/TV: 7:30pm

Why do you see: The Bulldogs almost certainly surpass their latest forecast finish in the SEC, but the upset near Tennessee last week still missed a major opportunity. But they can’t stick to it as they have suppressed Auburn in the league’s opener, but have to quickly reorganize to take on the Aggies, who want to show more pop from the offense. A&M QB Marcel Reed aims to quickly acquire Big-Play WRS Mario Craver and KC Concepcion. Miss State Defense relies on the safety aid of Isaac Smith and Jaron Manning to limit such an explosive play. The Bulldogs QB Blake Shapen has his own weapons in Wrs Brenen Thompson and Anthony Evans, but Aggies de Cashius Howell was able to keep him from finding him.

Why can you be disappointed: Mississippi has made great strides in the offensive aspect of the ball this season, but the Aggies’ defense may be difficult to resolve. To establish game control, A&M only requires a medium improvement with a surprising low 30.61% third-down conversion rate.

Time/TV: 3:30pm and NBC.

Why do you see: This pre-season playoff team pairing lost a bit of its luster in 2025 when both teams were off to sub-par start. This year, Boise’s attacks rely more on QB Maddux Madsen, and its death could be streaks. When he is on target, WRS Latrell Caples and Chris Marshall are valuable downfield weapons, so Notre Dame DBS Jalen Stroman and Adon Shuler need to minimize big plays. The fight against Arish QB CJ Carr completes 68.3% of the passes, but the attack is best when RBS Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price are involved. They will be familiar with Broncos DB Ty Benefield and LB Marco Notarainni.

Why can you be disappointed: The Broncos have undoubtedly solved some issues since being blown away in South Florida, but this is a big step in the competition. Fighting Ireland has also found their identity and can be in charge here soon.

Howard Lutnick, Commerce Secretary of Trump, calls Epstein a “blackmailer”

Commerce Secretary Howard Luttonick suggests that Jeffrey Epstein opposed the Department of Justice and refused to have Epstein’s compromised material.

play

For months, President Donald Trump appealed to his supporters to move on from the Jeffrey Epstein controversy – calling it a “democratic hoax.”

But Trump’s fellow billionaire and commerce secretary Howard Lutnick apparently did not get a memo.

In a recent podcast, Lutnick discovered how Epstein, Trump’s best friend for over a decade, believed he was “gross” and a “blackmailer.”

“He was gross,” said Lutnick in an October 1 podcast interview with Miranda Devine of the New York Post. Lutnick described Epstein as “the best blackmailer ever,” suggesting that he used a compromised video of a prominent man to get a 2008 lovers contract in Florida amid a child prostitution investigation.

Those comments differed greatly from the memo released by the Department of Justice and the FBI in July, saying that “reliable evidence has been found that Epstein blackmailed a prominent individual” or that he maintains a “guilty client list.”

The White House and the Commerce Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The mansion next door

Lutnick, former chairman of finance giant Canter Fitzgerald, was once Epstein’s neighbor. Their surprise Upper East Side townhouse shared a wall.

However, Lutnick said his first meeting with Epstein, who died of suicide in Manhattan prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, gave a clear negative impression to the future Cabinet Secretary.

“The right kind of massage”

In 2005, after Lutnick and his wife, Allison, just moved into a newly renovated home, Epstein dispatched an assistant to invite the couple to coffee.

After giving them a tour of the “big living room”, he led them to a room with double doors.

“I thought it was the dining room,” Rutnick said. “And he opens the door and there is a massage table in the middle of the room.

Lutnick said he asked Epstein how often he received a massage to guarantee a table in the middle of the house.

“And he says, ‘everyday,'” recalls Lutnick. “And he becomes strangely close to me. And he says, “And the right kind of massage.” ”

Shortly after the comment, Lutnick said, he and his wife suddenly left Epstein’s mansion.

In “6-8 steps”, it took them to reach their residence, and the couple said he decided that he would “not be in the room with him for social, business, or even charity.”

Epstein has been accused of seducing and grooming many victims, including minor girls, for sexual abuse.

“If the guy was there, he wouldn’t go because he was gross,” Rutnick said.

Devine asked how other prominent men were associated with Epstein when Lutnick could quickly feel that he was a “pervert.”

“Did they see it and ignore it?” she asked.

“No. They’ve joined,” replied Lutnick.

“That’s his MO,” he said. “You know, ‘Get massages, get a massage.’ And I think this guy was the best people ever that happened in that massage room.

Rep. Robert Garcia, a top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, said on social media that Lutonic’s comments indicated the need for further disclosure. “Committee Lutnick explained what we already know: some of the most powerful men in the nation and in the world were involved in Epstein’s crimes,” writes Garcia. “We won’t stop until we get the perfect truth.”

Epstein Scandal Dog Strap

Trump and Epstein were friends until the 1990s, and fell in 2003 in a controversy over the Palm Beach Estate. Trump said he broke with Epstein as investors had poached staff from his Mar-A-Lago property.

Last month, the House of Representatives Surveillance and Government Reform Committee released a page from the “Birthday Book” given to Epstein in his 50th Birthday includes congratulatory letters from former President Bill Clinton and his influential friend who is suspected of him.

Trump’s alleged message he denied writing was written in the outline of a naked woman.

The president and his supporters have worked furiously to block backlash against the Justice Department and the FBI’s July statement. Many of his supporters, including Trump and FBI director Kash Patel and vice president JD Vance, have previously excited the Biden administration’s conspiracy to protect a child abuser’s plot connected to Epstein.

On October 2nd, after the podcast aired, Garcia wrote to Lutnick, asking him to “collaborate” in an investigation into the possible co-conspirators of Epstein.

“Given his direct interactions and knowledge with Mr. Epstein, in the interest of justice to Jeffrey Epstein and his enabler victims, I request that he sit down for a transcribed interview with committee staff and cooperate with the committee’s investigation,” Garcia writes.

Delay in House votes

In Congress, a bipartisan measure backed by Kentucky Republican Rep. Thomas Massey and California Democrat Locanna has 217 signatures from Congresswomen seeking U.S. Attorney General, General Pam Bondy, to release the Justice Department’s Justice Department files at Epstein. Another vote is needed to force a House vote against speaker Mike Johnson’s resistance.

Democrats accused Johnson of delaying the oath of Democrat leader Adelita Grialba, who could help Johnson win a special election in Arizona and release Epstein’s records.

In a podcast interview, Lutnick speculated that Epstein was able to secure a controversial 2008 plea deal in exchange for a video he owned. The deal allowed him to avoid federal sex trafficking accusations.

Instead, Epstein had to plead guilty to lesser charges of soliciting minors for prostitution in Florida court and register as a sex offender. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison and was allowed to go to his office for a “work release” while in custody.

Trump’s relationship with Epstein has driven him out since his first term. In 2019, Trump said he “falls out” with Epstein, which he described as a “palm beach fixture” in the mid-2000s.

5 couple Halloween costume ideas. From Taylor to Travis to “Evil.”

0

play

What’s more fun than dressing up a Halloween solo is doing it with your loved ones. Cute, fun or cheesy, couple and group outfits appear every Halloween season.

This year’s costume trend is predicted to be more pop culture-heavy, with obvious duo costumes like Taylor Swift and Travis Kells coming to mind. Many sequels and reboots also attracted a lot of love in 2025. It also stimulated the revival of some of the characters we’ve seen in the past few years, adding a fresh twist.

Whether you dress up with your love, best friends or family, you certainly have a choice. From elaborate cosplay quality get-ups to quick dress outfits, there are five ideas for two outfits to try out this Halloween.

Glinda and Elphaba from Wicked

The wait time for all the “evil” fans there is almost finished.

The second part of the film adaptation of “Wicked: Good,” starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Eribo, is scheduled to premiere this November after the first installment broke the Box Office records. Showing Eribo in a green-skinned Elfaba outfit and adorned with a sparkly pink G(a) Linda gown, Grande certainly inspired both new and old fans.

This year, Spirit Halloween has the option to dress up like an unlikely vest, both from Shizu Day and from post-graduation life.

Glinda’s Striped School uniforms are available in adult sizes for $59.99, but the matching adult size Elphaba School Days sets are available in the same amount. The Glinda All-Grown Dress is available for $59.99, while the children’s version is available for $49.99. Elphaba’s iconic black robe and adult hat are also on sale for $59.99, with the children’s version for $49.99.

KPOP Demon Hunter

Following the success of Netflix’s animated musical fantasy “Kpop Demon Hunters,” both kids and adults are preparing to channel this Halloween favorite demon-decorating idol.

Gather a few friends and form your own version of Girl Group Hunt/X, and fight Halloween against supernatural forces while maintaining pop stardom.

In Spirit Halloween, all three main characters are outfits in both adult and child sizes. Suitable for the fight as Mira, Rumi, or Zoe in the child’s version for $69.99 or $59.99.

fall out

“Fallout” began as a 1997 role-playing video game (RPG) and became one of the most iconic and recognizable franchises of gamers. The release of Amazon Prime’s “Fallout” streaming series in April 2024 rekindled interest in the apocalyptic universe, prompting the series’ highest number of players ever-time for the series’ online Fallout 76 RPGs and other games.

The show’s runaway success and rising expectations for the second season, which will be released in December 2025, mean that for the second year in a row, we’ll definitely meet this Halloween season’s blue jumpsuit, gliche face paint and makeshift Pipboy sea.

Fans can complete the gold belt and Pipboy for $92.99, like the honorable character Lucy McLean in the refined Vault 33 women’s jumpsuit.

More surface resident types? Modeled after the protagonist of the TV show, this official red and leather jumpsuit emulates the Brotherhood of Steel Loyalist Night Maximus.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelse (particularly their engagement photos)

Swifties announced Taylor Swift’s engagement to NFL player Travis Kelce in August, releasing iconic photos taken in a fairy tale environment covered in flowers.

Swift is a major source of costume inspiration every year, but this year’s looks could be even more prolific in the wake of engagement news. What’s great about this get-up is its simplicity. Unlike the “Midnight” bodysuit and essentially all the stunning tour appearances of the Airs Tour, you’ll need a smock-like striped dress from Amazon for $35 to emulate an engagement look.

As for Kelse, there will be a navy top and brightly colored linen shorts.

Fantastic Four

With “Fantastic Four: First Step” marking the debut of “Marvel’s First Family” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans are suited to this Halloween in an actuated screen costume inspired by the film’s retro-futuristic and iconic heroes.

Released in theaters in July 2025, the film stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss Bachach as core quartets, and their updated looks have already been a hit between cosplayers and trick-or-treaters.

Spirit Halloween’s amazing costume set can work in couples or groups of up to four people. The price for the adult invisible women’s costume is $54.99, the price for the adult Mr. Fantastic and Human Torch costume is $59.99, while the adult’s costume is $79.99, although the adult’s costume is with heads and hand covers.

Or, if you’re looking to take advantage of your more ominous side, sport Dr. Doom’s look in full cape and mask for $49.99.

When will the shutdown end? It depends on health care consultations

0

Democrats demand a cut in the abolition of healthcare costs to reopen the government, but Republicans refuse to negotiate during the shutdown.

play

Washington – When will the government shutdown end? This is a question lawmakers were hearing from candidates after another Senate vote failed on October 3 to end the closure, despite President Donald Trump warning that he is considering “spread” layoffs and agencies to eliminate.

“I don’t know how many times we’ll give them the chance to vote no,” Senate majority leader John Thune of R-South Dakota, said of the Democrats. “Hopefully they’ll have the opportunity to think about it over the weekend.”

Democrats are calling for negotiations to restore subsidies to purchase health insurance for low-income households, which are due to expire on December 31.

“This madness has to end,” White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt told White House reporters.

The fight will be approved by lawmakers to approve the year-round spending law for the year that began on October 1st over an extension of funding until November 21st. Democrats want to overturn Republicans who were approved at the beginning of the Medicaid year. An estimated 10 million Americans could lose their health insurance if Medicaid cuts and Obamacare subsidies expire as planned.

“Everyone is asking the question: how will this end?” Thune said on October 1.

Sen. John Barrasso of R-Wyoming said three senators on the Republican side to keep the government open “a crack began to appear” on the Democratic front on September 30.

The Senate has 53 Republicans and 47 Democrat Caucus members, and 60 votes are required to approve the spending bill.

Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman and Nevada Catherine Cortez Mast, and Maine Sen. Angus King, who joins Democrats, Republicans and Republicans, joined the 55-45 votes to continue opening or reopening the government. On October 3rd, the vote was between 54 and 44 years old. This is because there is no senator of each party. If Paul is his opponent, he will need at least five Democrats to finish the shutdown.

“They know that if the government closes, Americans will hurt,” Barrasso said.

Trump ratchets partisan pressure on Democrats to end the closure

Trump has warned of “spread” layoffs, rather than traditional temporary federal workers’ meals, if closures continue. He also threatened to eliminate “democratic institutions” more easily with the expiration of funds, and met with management and budget director Russ Verto to decide what to target.

“I can’t believe the radical left Democrats have given me this unprecedented opportunity,” Trump said in an October 2 social media post.

House Speaker R-Louisiana Mike Johnson said more Democrats will join Republicans if they see the impact of the shutdown.

“I think the number will increase dramatically as the pain increases. That’s the pain they caused,” Johnson said.

Union of federal workers, including the United States Federation of Government Employees. U.S. Federation, county and city employees. And the AFL-CIO filed a lawsuit alleging that Trump fired workers and didn’t have the authority to dismantle the agency during the closure. The union called on federal courts in California to block Trump.

Vance talks with Senate Democrats about “important needs.”

Vice President JD Vance, a former Ohio Senator and now Senate President, told reporters on October 1 that he and Trump are talking to many Democrats who fall into two categories of demand.

Vance said some Democrats are making unreasonable demands to recover more than $1 trillion in medical expenses cut earlier this year.

“They don’t negotiate in good faith, so we write down those people,” Vance said. “Frankly, we don’t need them.”

Another Democrat faction is open to discussing ways to fix “critical needs” over the coming months, Vance said.

“Many of them will privately admit that shutting down people’s governments about these disagreements is a bit absurd,” Vance said. “That’s really where we’re trying to focus. We’re getting these five extra Democrats.”

Healthcare speaks plant seeds to resolve closure

Federal grants for those who participate in an Affordable Care Act called Obamacare expire at the end of the year. Without subsidies, premiums are expected to double.

Democrats want to extend subsidies, and many states with a Republican majority have a large number of Obamacare participants. Trump and GOP Congress leaders have said they are open to talks, but only after the government reopens.

Thune, the Senate GOP leader, said he cannot promise to restore the grant as it is not clear that the vote will support it.

“What I said is that I’m open to talking to my Democrat colleagues about how to deal with that issue,” Thune said. “It can’t happen when the government is shut down.”

House Speaker R-Louisiana Mike Johnson said Republicans are committed to American healthcare, but could call on Obamacare for “reform” during negotiations with Democrats. He said there is no “easy solution” to the problem and “you can’t “snap your finger and say that this is how resolution works.”

“It takes three months for Congress to negotiate that,” Johnson said. “It’s true, we were able to work on it in October, find some consensus and get it.”

Foodies can celebrate Tuesday’s Taco National Taco Day rolling around this year.

National Taco Day is observed on Tuesday, October 7th this year, but it has not fallen all the time on Tuesday.

In 2024, the National Day Calendar, which tracks celebration dates, moved National Taco Day from October 4th to the first Tuesday of October.

While it may seem like an obvious choice to celebrate the day on Tuesday for the popular “Taco Tuesday” deal, there was a pushback to the legitimate ownership of Alliteration.

However, before making any changes, the “Taco Tuesday” trademark had to be released for use by owner Taco John’s.

The company has allowed all restaurants to use it to “sell, sell, eat and celebrate tacos” as Taco Bell abandoned the semester’s trademark in July 2023 after it launched an online petition to release its “Taco Tuesday” trademark.

Recent LGBTQ+ Issues in the Colorado Conversion Therapy Supreme Court

0

In the previous two cases, the High Court was on the side of the web developer and baker who refused to serve same-sex couples.

play

Colorado is a pioneering beacon of gay rights, also vilified as a “state of hatred,” and once again falls into the rainbow spotlight as the Supreme Court hears a third lawsuit from a state dealing with LGBTQ+ issues in seven years.

In recent years, the High Court has sided with website developers and cake bakers who opposed the provision of certain services to gay customers due to religious beliefs.

On October 7, the judge heard arguments that the state’s ban on providing conversion therapy to LGBTQ+ children under the age of 18 violates the rights of folk therapists to free speech.

Minor conversion therapy defined conversion therapy as “any practice or treatment” that attempts to “change an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity.” Prohibited treatments can include “efforts to change behavior or gender expression, eliminate or reduce sexual or romantic attraction, or reduce or reduce feelings towards same-sex individuals.”

Free speech and health care regulations

Therapist Kayley Chile’s lawyer argued that the state law “represents a sharp break from historical counseling regulations” and that it “violates her initial right to amend the Christian views on the topic of “stimulating public debate.”

“When Chile advises young people with gender discomfort, Colorado allows her to speak if she helps her accept a transgender identity,” her lawyer wrote in a filing. “However, if those clients choose to adapt their sense of identity to their sex by accustoming and growing into their bodies, Chile must either remain silent or risk losing her license, her livelihood, and the career she loves.”

Democrat Attorney General Philip Weiser said the 2019 legislator conversion therapy was intended to change the sexual orientation or gender identity of a child. However, he said counselors could still speak freely about treatment and criticize the state’s ban.

The ban on the law is narrower than what Chile describes, Weiser said in his response.

“Colorado law prohibits licensed professionals from administering conversion therapy to minor patients,” Weiser’s submission said. If the court agrees to Chile, it is “said to ensure that mental health care professionals comply with standard care.”

Colorado sees extremes surrounding gay rights

Colorado was a pioneering nation of gay rights, but it has also become known as the “hate nation” that opposes their protection.

In March 1975, two men were granted marriage licenses in Boulder County, and this may have been the first documented time the United States granted same-sex marriage licenses. That was 40 years ago when the Supreme Court upheld the right to gay marriage in an Ohio case.

However, in 1992, the state approved a voting measure that sought to block laws protecting people based on “gay, lesbian or bisexual orientation, behavior, practice, or relationships.” The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 1996, stating that it had no “identifiable legitimate purpose” and was “born out of hostility.” He relied on the latest Supreme Court case in May 2019 to sign the conversion therapy law.

“In just 27 years, we have made a significant change from what was called a ‘state of hatred’ to where all Coloradan rights are respected,” Police said.

But the hostility remained. Five people were shot dead and more than 12 people were shot It was He was injured in Club Q, an LGBTQ+ club in Colorado Springs, in November 2022. Anderson Lee Aldrich was sentenced to life in prison after admitting to killing five people, injuring 19 people, attempting to kill 26 people, and committing crimes and firearms.

The Supreme Court previously sided with web designers in complaints of discrimination.

If the Supreme Court has been allying two Colorado business owners in recent years, and has argued for state anti-discrimination laws that have been infringed on state free speech or exercise of religion.

In June 2023, the High Court sided with web designer Lorie Smith, who wanted her business, 303 Creative LLC.

She was worried that the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act would force her to create a website for marriages that she didn’t support, so she filed a lawsuit to block the law.

“Mr. Smith doesn’t want to provide just as Colorado is trying to force him to speak to him as he tries to engage in a protected First Amendment speech,” Judge Neil Gorsuch wrote for a 6-3 majority. “Take it seriously, that principle allows the government to force all kinds of artists, speechwriters and other services.

Judge Sonia Sotomayor wrote a scathing objection. She said a majority of the courts agreed that the First Amendment would protect businesses from laws prohibiting discrimination in the sale of goods and services.

“That’s wrong,” Sotomayor wrote. “It’s deeply wrong.”

Baker exempts discrimination as stated “hospitality”: Kennedy

In June 2018, the High Court cleared a Colorado Baker of discrimination for refusing to create custom wedding cakes for same-sex couples ruled state law and showed religious “hospitality” towards him.

Judge Anthony Kennedy wrote a 7-2 decision against gay couples Charlie Craig and Dave Mullins, despite a long history of writing opinions in favor of gay rights. Kennedy previously wrote a landmark 2015 decision legalizing the 1996 decision in the Colorado incident on national gay marriages and voting laws.

Kennedy acknowledged that business owners generally cannot equally deny access to goods and services. But he refused the bakery in the 2012 case where masterpiece cake shop Jack Phillips refused a same-sex couple before Colorado recognized a gay marriage.

The high court majority ruled that the state’s Civil Rights Commission, which the couple brought complaints, had compromised the case with “clear and unacceptable hostility towards the sincere religious beliefs that motivated Baker’s objections.”

“The consequences of such cases in other circumstances must await further elaboration of the court,” Kennedy wrote to the court. “These conflicts must be resolved with generosity without undue rudeness to sincere religious beliefs, without insulting homosexuals when seeking goods and services in the open market.”

The much-anticipated decision did not resolve whether other opponents of same-sex marriage, including bakers, florists, photographers and videographers, could deny commercial wedding services to gay couples.

Top Fuel Injector Cleaner for Improved Engine Performance

0

play

Having fuel injection devices in every mass-produced vehicle is one of the biggest automotive breakthroughs in decades. If you are in a hurry and have to start the engine with an untuned carburetor, you agree.

In addition to improving reliability and performance by increasing control of the air fuel mixture, the injector needs to be less maintenance than the carburet engine.

But they need to be careful from time to time.

Below are some of the most effective fuel injector cleaners available today, as well as some tips on how to clean them and some easy ways to clean your fuel system.

Liquimory jetron gasoline fuel injection cleaner

This product works well with all gas-powered engines, as long as the fuel injector is not cruelly clogged. It is also very easy to use as it is simply poured directly into the fuel tank. It only takes about 10 ounces to process up to 18 gallons of fuel. It then passes through the fuel system and cleans up the fuel injection device and other components. Manufacturers recommend using it every 1,200 miles.

Important specifications:

  • Effective period: 1,200 miles
  • Container Type: Sheet metal can
  • What makes it special: Easy to use and can be mixed with fuel anytime

Chevron Techron Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner

This product is specially designed to clean the entire fuel system. This makes it suitable not only for other devices that use internal combustion engines such as lawnmowers, motorboats, and motorcycles, but also for older cartlet cars and other devices. It is also a suitable option for gasoline hybrid vehicles. Manufacturers recommend using it every 3,000 miles. Or whenever you notice symptoms such as lower acceleration or lower fuel economy. A 20-ounce bottle is enough for a tank with up to 20 gallons of fuel.

Important specifications:

  • Effective period: 3,000 miles
  • Container Type: PET bottle
  • What makes it special: Suitable for virtually any gas-powered vehicle or device

BG 44K Fuel System Cleaner

If you haven’t cleaned your fuel propellant in a while and need a stronger product, this cleaner may be the perfect fit for you. Its powerful formula can eliminate major sludge and deposits from fuel injection devices and other parts of the fuel system. Its professional grade cleaning capabilities make it a popular product with mechanics and other automotive experts, but that means it’s more expensive than other similar products. One 11 oz can is enough for a tank with up to 20 gallons of gas.

Key Specs

  • Effective period: 7,500 miles
  • Container Type: PET bottle
  • What makes it special: The formula is stronger than most similar products

Lucas Oil 10003 Fuel Treatment

This cleaner is one of the most versatile on the market. It works with both gas-powered engines and diesel, and does a good job even with older carburet cars. It does not contain solvent and lubricates the components of the fuel system. The result is an efficient engine with less fuel burning and more power. The ability to neutralize some of the harmful effects associated with burning diesel fuel means that it must be used before emission testing. The recommended dosage is 2-3 ounces per 10 gallons of gas or diesel fuel.

Important specifications:

  • Effective period: Hundreds of miles
  • Container Type: PET bottle
  • What makes it special: It also works with diesel engines

Royal Purple Mac Screen Fuel System Cleaner and Stabilizer

This product is designed to maximize the performance of your fuel system. In addition to cleaning the injector and fuel system, it also serves as a fuel additive, maximizing the car’s horsepower while optimizing fuel consumption. Even those using ethanol blends and biofuels work with all gas-powered and diesel engines. A 20-ounce bottle can process and stabilize up to 20 gallons of fuel, but place it in an empty tank before refueling.

Important specifications:

  • Effective period: 10,000 miles
  • Container Type: Metal Bottle
  • What makes it special: In addition to cleaning injectors, it also functions as a fuel additive

What are the main benefits of cleaning a fuel injector?

Some of the main reasons why using a fuel injector cleaner is a good idea include:

You’ll get better fuel economy

The more efficient the fuel system, the less fuel is required to run the vehicle. Using a fuel injector cleaner can instantly increase the number of miles you can drive for each gallon of gallon. This means it will pay for itself immediately.

It can improve the performance of your vehicle

Low fuel consumption performance sounds magical, but it’s real. In addition to requiring less fuel, having cleaner engine components improves the quality of the combustion process. As fuel injector accumulation tends to gradually accumulate over time, you may not realize that the vehicle is not as fast as it used to be. Cleaning the injector can significantly increase horsepower.

It can extend the life of the engine

Ignoring dirty fuel injectors can ultimately lead to one or more failures in the fuel system components. Regular use of fuel injection cleaners prevents mechanical problems and keeps the engine running for longer periods, even if you don’t notice any visible signs.

Reduces harmful exhaust emissions

Using a fuel injector cleaner can help those around you by keeping the air a little cleaner. A cluttered, inefficient fuel system will not effectively supply fuel. One negative effect is that combustion is not closely regulated and can release more pollutants into the atmosphere. If you are not ready to move to an electric vehicle, fuel injector cleaners can improve your vehicle’s emissions.

GM’s Super Cruise expands as true self-driving cars remain elusive

0

play

  • Hands-free systems like General Motors’ Super Cruise are expected to continue to lead the technology available for years.
  • Super Cruise was released in 2017.
  • New autonomous driving forecasts from the telemetry project show that 16 million level 4 vehicles will be deployed each year by 2035.

Automotive experts say that despite the continued improvement and expansion of U.S. vehicles, don’t expect fully autonomous vehicles to be quickly becoming widespread in all conditions.

In fact, the most advanced technology called Level 5, which has no expectations for humans to control the vehicle, is not at all predicted in the next decade. That doesn’t mean that technology is stalling as automakers continue to deploy sophisticated driver assistance technologies in more and more vehicles.

This is a message from an automotive expert at Sam Abuelsamid, Vice President of Market Research at Telemetry.

In a discussion with the Automotive Press Association in Detroit on Monday, September 29, Abuelsamid said handoff systems such as General Motors Super Cruise will continue to lead the technology deployed for the remainder of the decade. So-called eye-off technology poses greater risks and challenges for automakers, he noted.

Regarding Super Cruise, which launched in 2017 as the first hands-free system, Abuelsamid said there are many advances in the latest version.

In particular, GM plans to double its fleet of Super-Cruise-enabled vehicles to 720,000, and is planning on “technology to operate 750,000 miles of US and Canada roads by the end of this year,” according to a preliminary report from Detroit Free Press, part of the USA Today Network.

“These systems have significantly improved capabilities,” Abuelsamid says that even if they remain limited, Abuelsamid says there is a transition to more autonomy. Abuelsamid said they should start looking at consumer cars offering automated highway driving in the late 2020s.

He said by 2035, more than 16 million level 4 vehicles, self-driving vehicles with certain restrictions on operation, will be deployed annually around the world, with nearly 10 million in China.

This includes almost 12 million Robotaxis and shuttles, 2 million delivery vehicles and 2.4 million personal vehicles. Currently, Waymo’s self-driving cars run in many US cities, including Phoenix and San Francisco, are considered level 4.

However, it is worth noting, he said, that completely hands-free technology is not currently legally permitted in China. Abuel el amide pointed to new regulations imposed on China’s advanced driver assistance system after three people died in the crash in April. The country bans “beta testing” on public roads and certain features such as remote samanthus and parking, and does not allow certain conditions to be used for marketing, such as “autonomous driving.”

Why Judge Alito said he wasn’t coming for a gay marriage

0

play

WASHINGTON – Supreme Court Judge Samuel Alito in his recent remarks did not offer encouragement to anyone who wishes to encourage the court to overturn a 2015 decision to legalize same-sex marriage across the country.

Alito, one of the court’s most conservative justices, correctly criticized the decision in his October 3rd speech at the Science Council. However, he quickly added a disclaimer.

“It does not suggest that the decision in that case should be rejected,” he said at an event hosted by the C. Boyden Gray Center for research into administrative states. “I have to state that so that I don’t get misunderstood what I’m saying today.”

Alito, who wrote the court’s 2022 opinion to rule out constitutional rights to abortion, also noted that he said in the ruling.

Roev. In response to concerns that Wade has overturned other past decisions, Alito said he has no intention of skeptical gay marriage ruling.

Obergefellv from Alito. Hodges said at the meeting that it was “a precedent for the courts with the right to respect given by the doctrine of staring decisions.”

However, the former Kentucky County Clerk, who refused to issue a license for same-sex marriage in 2015 due to her religious beliefs, urged the court to repeal the decision.

“The High Court has had an opportunity to ultimately reverse this terrible opinion since 2015,” said Mat Staver, head of a conservative legal body representing the clerk, when he filed the appeal in July.

Court watchers believe that despite criticism from the conservative side of the bench, it is unlikely that a judge will hear her case.

Alito raised Obergefell’s decision as an example, “to justify the consequences that are too quick to read certain constitutional provisions to embody broad abstract principles and that would surprise those who frame and ratify those provisions.”

But by laying out the best way to apply the conservative judicial philosophy of originality, the best way to understand the idea of interpreting constitutional words as framers, Alito said it’s okay to go beyond “black and white” things.

In 2024, critics on both the left and right said the conservative majority’s decision that the president has immunity for certain official actions had no constitutional basis.

However, Alito stated that while originalist judges must start with the text of the constitution, there are times when the principle “emerges from the very structure of the constitution.” “There is no explicit constitutional text,” he said, “not conclusive.”

KFC is regaining its original honey barbecue sauce. When is this?

After revitalizing two fan favorites this summer, KFC is reclaiming yet another classic menu item. The original honey barbecue sauce will return on Monday, October 6th.

“KFC’s original honey barbecue is more than just a menu offering, it has become a cultural touchstone that fans have been craving for years and asking us to come back,” US KFC president Katherine Tan Gillespie said in a news release.

KFC introduced its original honey barbecue sauce in the late 90s, becoming the “cult classic” as mentioned by the news release. The sauce was led by KFC to create and distribute wet napkins, as the sauce could number with fingers, chin and occasionally with white shirts.

In August, KFC regained potato wedges and hot, spicy wings after high demand. Both items will remain on the menu.

Discount chicken sandwiches

In the menu throw-back theme, KFC sells chicken sandwiches at a discounted price of $3.99.

13-day trading for reward members

To celebrate Halloween, KFC is offering KFC Rewards members a 13-day transaction. For the 13 days ending October 31st, reward members can unlock special offers such as free classic chicken sandwiches for a $10 purchase or a 50% off 12-piece chicken-only bucket. The second US Court of Appeals upholds birthright citizenship

0

President Trump has sought to limit citizenship to US-born children with at least one American parent, but the appeals court rejected it twice. Next destination: Supreme Court.

play

BOSTON – President Donald Trump’s efforts to reduce birthright citizenship were declared unconstitutional by the 2nd U.S. Court of Appeals on Friday, October 3rd, giving him another defeat in the core part of his hardline immigration agenda, with the ultimate fate of the Supreme Court.

A three-judicial panel of judges from the Boston-based First Circuit Court of Appeals supported an injunction won by democratically-led states and immigration rights advocates that prevented the Republican president’s executive order from being enacted.

The Trump order issued on the first day of his inauguration on January 20th instructs agencies to refuse to grant citizenship to a US-born child without at least one parent who is also known as the owner of a “green card” or a legal permanent resident.

The principle of birthright citizenship comes from the 14th Amendment, which has been recognized in the United States for over 150 years and states that those born in the United States are considered citizens.

Another court of appeals, San Francisco-based Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, supported a nationwide in July injunction that would stop Trump’s order from becoming effective on the grounds that it violated the citizenship clause of the 14th amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

The administration last week called on the U.S. Supreme Court to hear any appeals in that case and related claims. If the Supreme Court agrees, it marks the second time the case has been in front of the High Court after the conservative majority of June 6-3 restricted the judge’s authority to block other actions by Trump nationwide.

The Supreme Court at the time did not oppress the effectiveness of Trump’s birthright citizenship order. However, in three cases where judges declared unconstitutional, the courts limited the judge’s ability to issue so-called universal injunctions and the ability to direct lower courts that blocked Trump’s policies nationwide to reconsider the scope of the order.

The Supreme Court decision opens the door to Trump’s orders that are effective in parts of the country, promoting immigration and state uncertainty, and tackles the potential impact of the patchwork system of citizenship rules. But since then, judges on the lower court have repeatedly blocked it from being held anywhere in the country.

The First Circuit was considering a ruling in February by District Judge Leo Sorokin of Boston, an appointee of Democratic President Barack Obama, who supports 18 Democratic states and the District of Columbia.

After the Supreme Court’s June ruling, he reaffirmed his original decision to suspend policies across the country.

He said a patchwork approach to citizenship would cause confusion given the substantial movement of non-citizen parents and children between the states and the impact that Trump’s order will have on managing social services for them.

Veterinarians urge the National Guard to refuse deployment orders

0

Some veterans view the deployment of National Guard in U.S. cities as illegal. They argue that soldiers will better protect American values by resisting controversial orders.

play

Chicago – In the desert, he realizes that Humvees do not support the Constitution.

Twenty years later, Iraq War veteran Aaron Hughes continues to spread the awareness that soldiers can better defend American ideals by following conscience rather than order.

The 42-year-old shares his message more loud than ever as President Donald Trump moves to deploy his troops in U.S. cities, saying it’s an effort to fight crime and help immigrant enforcement.

“When people withdraw themselves from machine gear, it’s power and service members need to know that they have the power to withdraw their consent,” said a native Chicago area.

Hughes is a member of About Face: Veterans Against the War in Illinois. This is an organisation that sought to stop “militarism and endless wars,” denounces the White House’s efforts to use soldiers to police Americans, and urges them to resist being deployed to forces.

“We’re trying to rebuild the GI resistance movement,” Hughes said. “We don’t want brothers and sisters to join this authoritarian adventurism.”

As Trump deploys his troops in Washington, DC and Memphis, Tennessee, efforts will come to build new resistance movements. More recently, the military will be deployed in Portland, Oregon and in Chicago.

The Trump administration has already shown that it does not want to allow class opposition. At a recent gathering of generals, Defense Secretary Pete Hegses denounced “decades of collapse” at the Pentagon, saying the new measures would eliminate political correctness among the world’s most powerful military forces.

“If the words I’m speaking today sink your heart,” Hegses told hundreds of generals. “Then you should do something honorable and resign.”

Veterinarians gather all over the country

Hughes and other Chicago-area veterans are just chapters of Faith’s national effort to rally the troops to reject what Trump deems “illegal orders” to deploy to American cities.

In Washington, D.C., group members were arrested in protest of the deployment of soldiers in Los Angeles. Outside military bases, including Fort Bragg and Camp Lejeune, signs have been set up questioning whether supporting immigration agents was something soldiers signed up. And members opposed the planned potential deployment as Trump threatened to send troops to Baltimore.

“A lot of the vets out there feel like they’re really devastated for now. You can see everything they felt they signed up to protect Crumble,” he said of Brittany Ramos Devaros, the organizational superintendent of facials. But “there is still an opportunity to stand up to the values we signed up for.”

Devaros said local branch organizations are staging protests across the country, and the military is trying to spread information about which options have, and ultimately develop more legitimate means for the military to argue conscientious objections.

Devaros, a veteran of the Afghan war, said: “I want people to know that the doors are open, and here’s the community with your back.”

Devaros said the organization currently has around 2,000 members nationwide, but has hundreds of new members in recent months. Among them was the former Army captain, who resigned from her position in 2018 after being investigated by the military for opposition to the war in Afghanistan.

Can soldiers make conscientious objections?

Soldiers have at least one path to resist the orders to deploy: conscientious objections. This process refers to soldiers who do not fight on moral or religious grounds.

However, a conscientious objection is a position defined as difficult to argue as it must be opposed not just a single development, but all conflicts to qualify, several experts told USA Today.

“If you want to be part of an armed force, but you don’t like this moment, you’re not qualified,” Steve Woolford, GI rights hotline worker, told USA Today. “For those people, the military considers it a political objection.”

Woolford, who has been calling on the GI rights hotline since before September 11, 2001, said in recent months there has been an increase of about 50% in exploring options to resist calls from soldiers interested in conscientious objections and orders for deployment to U.S. cities.

“There are people who ask a lot of different questions they didn’t ask before because they see themselves in roles they didn’t expect to see themselves,” Woolford said. “They aren’t talking about things in a political way, they’re not Sharkars, they’re people who are dedicated to serving the country, they’re willing to put their lives at risk, and they don’t want to feel like they’re doing something wrong.”

Can soldiers reject orders?

The US military is a volunteer combat unit, but during service, soldiers cannot choose which orders to follow. Doing so could have serious consequences, including years in prison, according to Steve Levin, a professor of law at the University of Maryland.

“In the military, failing to comply with legal orders threatens the entire chain of command,” Levin said. “This system relies on discipline and the military is immediately subject to submission, simply because Defiance can take his life.”

According to Levin and other legal experts, the only exception is that even Trump opponents, including Illinois Gov. J.B. Pretzker, can be extremely difficult to meet that standard, but illegal orders may be illegal.

“Under the current developments, the legality of the order is questionable, but historically, it is not within the individual service member Ken that will make a decision,” said John W., a professor of military history at the University of Wisconsin Madison University.

Can soldiers resist anyway?

The lack of legal options has not stopped our soldiers from resisting orders in the past.

“The United States had a democratic tradition when it came to military service, where they pay the price to challenge, but when that happened, even the military ordered to do these things said David Coltwright, a professor at the International Peace Institute.

Colt Wright joined such resistance after being drafted to serve in the Vietnam War. Stationed in New York, he joined the protests in Manhattan while on his job and signed a petition for the war.

His efforts to resist made him reallocate to a Texas base. There, “All we did was to continuously clean the barracks floors for several months,” Coltwright said.

“If you are going to participate in a protest, you need to know or expect that you will face punishment. The commander wouldn’t like it when the soldiers oppose the mission. But back in Vietnam, we didn’t care,” he said. “Thinking Soldiers are real. I appreciate our society. We are more than just robots.”

“The legacy of a fighter of freedom,” says veterinarians.

Hughes imagined he would sign up to join the National Guard at the Chicago Armory before September 11th, helping out flood victims and laying the Mississippi River. Instead, he deployed to Iraq and Kuwait, where GungHo’s belief in the mission gave way to anxiety.

“I wanted to help build democracy, but it didn’t take long for the occupying forces to realize they didn’t build democracy,” Hughes said.

Hughes and others began resisting commands in passive ways, appearing late or taking patrols slowly.

For Hughes, it was the beginning of a new sense of patriotism. This means not only obeying orders, but also observing American ideals and sometimes rejecting orders. Almost on his face, he discovered thousands of other soldiers who felt the same way.

“They often think they are alone and they don’t. They have the history and legacy of freedom warriors and the people they want to connect them,” Hughes said. “What gives me hope is that the person who captured our security situation still relies on people who are still following orders and playing historically. Those people have shown that they have the power to withdraw our consent when things are unfair and immoral.”

Razzoo’s CajunCafe File for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in Texas

According to a filing from Houston’s Southern Texas District, Cajun Cafe in Razoo filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Wednesday, October 1st.

In federal court documents obtained by USA Today, Razzoo CEO Philip Parsons said the decision to file for bankruptcy comes after a decline in sales and changes in consumer spending, convenience diner preferences and other factors.

“Therefore, sales (from Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe) continue to be favorable for forecasting in light of fierce competition between casual meal chains to attract consumers who want the best value for their tense budget,” he said in a declaration in favour of bankruptcy filing.

At the time of filing, the restaurant chain operated 20 locations in Texas, North Carolina and Oklahoma. Court records show that the chain closed four unperforming locations in 2024 and 2025.

As of Friday, October 3, it is unclear whether Razzoo’s plans to close the remaining stores are unclear. USA Today contacted Razzoo’s but did not receive a response.

What is Cajun Cafe by Razzoo?

According to bankruptcy court documents, Razzoo opened its first location in Dallas, Texas in 1991, “the goal is to meet the needs of Cajun culture and culinary markets.”

Due to positive cash flow and customer enthusiasm for the restaurant concept, Razzoo had six total locations in Texas by 1996, and by 2021 it had grown to a total of 14 locations.

At Razzoo’s Peak, the chain had 24 locations in Texas, North Carolina and Oklahoma, court filings say.

Other popular chains that have recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

Razzoo’s bankruptcy filing is as other popular chains recently filed for Chapter 11. BravoBrioRestaurants LLC includes 25 Brio Italian Grille Restaurants and 23 Bravo Italian Kitchen restaurants, filed for bankruptcy for the second time in August in about five years.

A month later, in September, Greek restaurant chain OPA! Real Greek food filed for bankruptcy with plans to liquidate the remaining assets of the California company.

Outside of the casual dining realm, canned food agency DelMonte Foods raised Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July.

Is a $1 Donald Trump commemorative coin legal?

The Treasury has announced a proposed $1 coin with the image of Trump as part of a campaign to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

WASHINGTON – The Treasury Department announced on October 3 that it is considering plans to commemorate America’s 250th birthday, with a new $1 coin responsible for the image of President Donald Trump and his now iconic fist-raised posture after being shot and killed.

In a series of Swift, the story was first reported by Fox News and later confirmed by Treasury Secretary Brandon Beach and blown up by the White House and its rapid response 47 social media handles.

All posts show that Trump’s face is a silver coin mock animal on one side and he looked at the sky and pumped his fist in the air.

“There’s no fake news here. These first drafts honoring America’s 250th birthday and @Potus are real,” Beach said in a post on X.

Beach did not respond to a request for USA Today’s comment via X on whether Coin could violate federal laws prohibiting living people from joining US currency.

“Despite the forced closure of our government’s radical left, the facts are clear. Under the historical leadership of President Donald J. Trump, our country celebrates its 250th anniversary and is stronger, more prosperous and better entering than ever,” the Treasury Department said in a statement. “While the final one-dollar coin design has not yet been selected to commemorate the US semi-calcentennials, this first draft well reflects the enduring spirit of our nation and democracy, even in the face of immeasurable obstacles.

“Living people may not appear in US currency‘

Paper currency is produced by the Treasury Department’s Office of Engraving and Printing, and coins are processed by the US Mint.

In a 2016 article, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco confirmed that “living people may not appear in US currency.”

“It has been a long-standing tradition to feature only portraits of individuals who have died in currency and coins to avoid the emergence of monarchies,” he said. “That tradition became law in the Parliamentary Act of 1866.”

According to the Cornell Law School’s Institute of Legal Information, “The coin issued may carry the image of a living former or current president.”

Treasury officials did not answer questions late October 3rd regarding whether special sculptures have been established for the commemorative coin, including those proposed by Trump.

The law also mandated that “no portraits of the head and shoulders of a living or dead person, nor any breasts or breasts, nor portraits of people living in the reverse design of a particular coin.”

Other commemorative coins

During Trump’s first administration, Congress passed the 2020 Circular Coin Redesign Act, which approved the Treasury Department to issue commemorative coins from January 1, 2020.

The law said some of the coins could honor Native Americans and innovators, and one of the 25-cent coins must honor women. A commemorative coin was issued in 2024 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Harriet Tubman, a former slave who helped other slaves escape the Underground Railroad.
