AOC trolls Fox News after voter defended her work on air
In an interview on Fox News, one voter was quick to defend himself when asked what he had done for the district. The MP replied:
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Vice President J.D. Vance are among the most notable politicians of both parties, even though they hold very different positions.
And the two have made that contrast clear through their public interactions over the years.
However, the vice president said that he sees the congressman as the Democratic Party’s frontrunner in the next presidential election, sparking new interest in the two men’s feelings for each other.
Here’s a look back at the latest updates and other public disagreements.
Vance claims AOC will be a strong Democratic candidate; House members react
In a recent interview on The Michael Knowles Show, Vance said Ocasio-Cortez would be the leading Democratic candidate in 2028.
“I know that’s probably conventional wisdom,” he said.
In response to Mr. Vance’s response, AOC told reporters that he also hopes to be a candidate. Vance is considered one of the frontrunners for the 2028 Republican nomination.
When asked about her reaction, Vance said, “You can worry about the future when it comes.”
AOC is causing controversy over whether she plans to run in the next presidential election. In May, the 36-year-old did not immediately rule out the idea of running for another election, whether it be for a Senate seat or the White House.
“They think my ambition is for a title or a seat,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And my ambition is much bigger than that. My ambition is to change this country.”
AOC, Vance, and a history of disagreement
If the two men become candidates for their respective parties in the 2028 election, they could face off in the race for the country’s top seat.
Late last year, the congressman directly acknowledged that possibility by reposting a tweet claiming he had a lead over Vance in the 2028 polls.
“Boom,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
When asked about the matchup, AOC told reporters with a laugh: “Listen, these polls, like three years from now, are what they are, you know. But let’s go on record: I stomp on him. I stomp on him!”
She also harshly criticized the vice president after resident Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed by ICE agents sent to Minneapolis earlier this year.
“I understand that Vice President Vance believes that shooting a young mother of three in the face three times is an acceptable America that he wants to live in, but I don’t believe that,” she said at the time, according to The Hill.
“And that’s the fundamental difference between Vice President Vance and me. I don’t think American citizens should be assassinated in the streets.”
Mr. Vance expressed his dissatisfaction with AOC.
“President AOC, this is a nightmare,” Vance said in an interview last May.
“Thank you, you’re the reason I couldn’t sleep tonight.”
