Pizza Hut is once again treating voracious readers this summer.

Hut is appealing to parents to register their children in the famous BOOK IT! On April 23, it was announced that the free reading incentive program would be reinstated in the summer.

“Summer of stories is back! 📚🍕,” the Plano, Texas-based pizza restaurant chain said in an Instagram post.

Kids who meet their monthly reading goal can redeem a free one-topping personal pan pizza by presenting their digital reading award certificate at participating Pizza Hut locations.

“Registration begins May 1. Get ready to turn reading time into pizza time. This summer, help your kids read, learn, and love books…all with free pizza,” Pizza Hut added.

The Summer of Stories program, which runs from June 1 to August 31, is open to families with children in preschool through sixth grade.

Founded in 1984, BOOK IT! is dedicated to “helping teachers and parents motivate children to read, especially children between the ages of 4 and 12.” Pizza Hut offers two BOOK IT! The program sessions are one for educators during the school year and one for parents only during the summer.

Pizza Hut did not immediately respond to USA TODAY’s request for comment.

Here’s everything we know about this summer’s BOOK IT! Program sessions including how to sign up.

How to sign up

To participate in the summer program, families must first download BOOK IT! Download the app from Apple’s App Store or Google’s Play Store.

Parents will then be asked to fill out a “quick” registration form starting May 1st. Parents then need to set up a profile for each participating child and set monthly reading goals.

The ability to track your child’s reading progress will begin on June 1, when the program launches. According to BOOK IT!, the summer program is only available through the app.

Additionally, there is a limit to five personal pan pizza certificates per family per month. Earn one certificate per month for each eligible child when you reach your reading goals.

“Start reading. Start earning. Start celebrating!” Pizza Hut concludes.
