Discount retailer Five Below will soon open nine new stores in eight states, according to a “Coming Soon” page on the company’s website.
The chain, which describes itself as a “trend-driven, ultimate value” brand, opened its 2,000th U.S. store in La Grange, Georgia on July 17, with a grand opening celebration where the first 200 customers received a free neon squishy dumpling collection.
“Reaching 2,000 stores is an incredible milestone for our brand, which is dedicated to being a destination for children and children in all of us,” CEO Winnie Park said in a July 9 news release. “We know our unique retail concept is poised for great growth with thousands of new stores across the United States.”
Founded in 2002, Five Below says most items cost between $1 and $5. The chain has items across multiple sections, including sports, room, style, party, and candy.

Where will Five Below open new stores?
According to Five Below’s “Coming Soon” page, these stores are expected to open soon. A grand opening date was not listed on the website, but USA TODAY reached out to the company for more information. Five Below did not immediately respond to USA TODAY’s request.
