The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has recently made major changes to how they are approved for the Covid-19 vaccine and the group they are recommended.
Over the past few years, the federal government has been widely approved and recommends updated Covid-19 shots for everyone from six months ago.
However, last week, US Food and Drug Administration leaders outlined a new framework for the Covid-19 vaccine approval process that can limit shots to older people and people at high risk of severe Covid-19 infections. On Tuesday, Kennedy announced that the vaccine will no longer be one of the recommended vaccines for pregnant women and healthy children at the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention Vaccination Schedule.
However, the schedule currently classifies children’s Covid-19 shots as “recommended vaccinations based on shared clinical decisions.”
These changes, made in unconventional ways, will likely affect access and availability of millions of Covid-19 vaccine shots.
Under the framework outlined by FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty McCurry and Dr. Vinai Prasad, the new director of the FDA’s Center for Biological Evaluation and Research, renewing the Covid-19 vaccine is approved for people over the age of 65 and above with at least significant conditions.
The CDC lists a number of conditions that can increase your risk of Covid-19, including asthma, cancer, diabetes, obesity and the history of smoking. These underlying conditions are estimated by FDA leaders that between 100 million and 200 million people in the United States will be eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine under the new framework.
The CDC list of factors states that it presents a “conclusive increase in risk” for at least one severe COVID-19 outcome. Kennedy did not provide any specific reason behind the decision to change Covid-19 recommendations for pregnant people, but the move appears to be directly inconsistent with the new FDA framework outlined a week ago.
Many of the CDC information pages continue to recommend the Covid-19 vaccine for pregnant women, but adult vaccination schedules have been changed, specifying that the recommendations apply only to non-pregnant adults.
For children and adults under the age of 65 who do not have a fundamental condition, the FDA says detailed clinical trials will be required before licensing new vaccines.
The CDC’s independent advisor group (Advisory Committee on Vaccination Practices, or ACIP) is expected to meet at the end of June on Covid-19 vaccine recommendations, and had already evaluated the options for more targeted risk-based recommendations than the general guidelines issued the previous year.

“In theory, you can find someone who is willing to offer the vaccine, and while you may have to pay out of your pocket to get it, there are a lot of things you need to line up to get it.”
Healthcare providers may be able to offer the Covid-19 vaccine “off-label” but they must stock the vaccine.
The majority of Covid-19 vaccinations occur at pharmacies. Pharmacists generally do not have the tools to check their medical history. Many people can take patients in their own words to see if an individual has a risk-increasing condition. However, recent announcements from the federal government could have a calm impact on what providers are willing to do, experts say.
Those who are eligible for public insurance such as Medicare and Medicaid and meet new FDA eligibility requirements are likely to continue to cover the Covid-19 vaccine, experts say.
There is more uncertainty about how private insurers choose to adjust their coverage. Some of the conditions that the CDC lists Covid-19 risks as risks such as “physical inertness” are loosely defined and may be left to the individual plan to interpret.
According to the CDC, “It should be covered by insurance without cost sharing, based on shared clinical decisions, based on shared clinical decisions, based on shared clinical decisions, without cost sharing.
Insurers should cover adult vaccines if ACIP is recommended under the Affordable Care Act. The committee will also vote on whether the vaccine should be added to the federal vaccine for Children program.

Officials said these studies should last for a minimum of six months, but this would eliminate findings from affecting approval this fall.
The CDC’s independent vaccine advisors will meet at the end of June and will vote for recommendations for Covid-19 vaccine this fall. Their decision has guided vaccine policies in the United States for decades, but it is unclear how much of the impact it will have on newly announced changes. HHS has yet to sign off to two of the three recommendations made at the group’s final meeting in April.

“We have vaccines that we know are important in saving lives during the pandemic and we continue to see morbidity and mortality from Covid-19,” Fiscus said. “It’s very concerning that people who choose to protect themselves and their children with vaccines may be deprived of that choice.”
On Saturday, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses issued a disastrous warning to the Asia-Pacific region and the world. Taiwan’s Chinese design poses a threat to global peace and stability that demands “our allies and partners engage in defense.”

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, at the September 2024 hearing, Julie Chrisley apologised for “what led me to where I was today and what led me to where I am today.”

What crimes were accused of committing Julie and Todd Chrisley?
Chrisleys was first charged in Georgia federal court in August 2019, four years after the couple moved to the Bellmead area of Nashville. During the trial, prosecutors said during the trial that Chrisleys had fraudulent banks of fraudulent loans of more than $36 million and received millions of revenue, according to trial records.

A few days after US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its child vaccination schedule.

“Yes, absolutely they’re still on schedule,” said someone familiar with the agency’s vaccine recommendations they asked not to name because they don’t have the authority to share details of government deliberations.
During meetings with HHS officials over the past two days, CDC officials were out of the way to be sustainable and experts, and there was no conflict over recommendations, sources said.
In announcing the Friday update, HHS was in Kennedy’s language from the beginning of the week, saying, “As of today, the Covid vaccine for healthy children and healthy pregnant women has been removed from the CDC’s recommended vaccination schedule.”
“Recommendations for the old Covid-19 vaccine for healthy children under the age of 18 and pregnant women have been removed from the CDC vaccine schedule,” HHS spokesperson Emily Hilliard said in a statement Friday when the changes were posted.
“The CDC and HHS encourage individuals to talk to healthcare providers about their individual medical decisions. Under the leadership of Secretary Kennedy, HHS is restoring physician-patient relationships.
HHS doubled in social media posts later that day. This fired in several media outlets suggesting that the CDC is maintaining Covid-19 in its vaccination schedule for children against Kennedy.
“I’m wrong again,” the post said. “Vaccinations are not recommended for pregnant women. Vaccines are not recommended for healthy children. Parents’ decisions to vaccinate their children outside the CDC’s recommended schedule should be made in consultation with their health care provider.”
HHS Communications Director Andrew Nixon emphasized to CNN that the recommendation comes from healthcare providers.
“The CDC recommends ‘talking to your healthcare provider.’ Healthcare providers recommend that children get the Covid-19 vaccine.
Under shared clinical decisions, patients should first consult with their health care provider about the benefits and risks of the vaccine. Kennedy says he wants patients to be given “informed consent” before getting the vaccine, and the new recommendation puts it into practice.
According to the CDC, such providers will be those who regularly administer the vaccines, such as doctors, nurses, nurses, pharmacists.
According to the CDC, vaccines listed in the schedule in this category must be covered by insurance without cost sharing.
An email sent Friday from the CDC said the change from “recommended” to “shared clinical decision-making” for shots for children applies to all children between the ages of six months and 17 “including those with moderate or severe immunodeficiency.”

Dr. Susan Cresley, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, said the latest recommendations (holding vaccine coverage) are relief.
“After disrupting a confused message from Health and Human Services (HHS) leaders earlier this week, we are relieved to see that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the US has updated its child and adolescent vaccination schedule to enable families to consult with their children and maintain their choice to exempt children,” Kressly said.
“However, the deeply flawed process to reach recommendations raises serious concerns about the stability and commitment of the country’s immunization infrastructure by federal leaders, to ensure families, whether in communities or other infectious diseases, have access to critical vaccinations,” she added.
Kennedy’s initial announcement is disappointing, and Fatima Khan, co-founder of the nonprofit grassroots group, said the future of children advocating access to Covid-19 vaccines throughout the pandemic Protect from Protect The Protection Protect.
“A lot of parents are doing everything they can now, they call representatives, the health department, the listeners, the public who are responsible.

“If pregnancy is removed as a high-risk condition, what is the decision based on?” Fiscus asked, saying the agency had not given any evidence to support the recent changes.
Pregnancy is a risk factor for severe COVID-19 infections. Early in the pandemic, a CDC study found that pregnant women with Covid were three times more likely to need ICU care and almost twice as likely to die compared to non-pregnant women. Symbiotic infections during pregnancy are also associated with fetal complications such as stillbirth and preterm birth.
The Maternal and Fetal Medicine Association said it will continue to recommend pregnant people get vaccinated against Covid-19.
“Maternal immunization is the best way to reduce maternal, fetal and infant complications from Covid-19 infection and is safe to administer at any time during pregnancy. Maternal vaccination is also associated with improved infant outcomes and reduced complications, including maternal and infant hospitalization,” the group said.

“The Sinora Bike has been part of the brand DNA for many years and has helped us create our marks in the design space,” Sinora said in an email. “At this point, Cinora is working to double its watch assortment,” the company noted its recent partnership with J Dilla Estate, creating a limited edition watch.
When Shinola was founded in Detroit in 2011, the bike was sold for $3,000 and was one of the brand’s core products along with watches and leather products. It then expanded with other products such as headphones and opened the hotel in 2019 in downtown Detroit.

Four years ago, amid the pandemic, Sinora executives told the Detroit Free Press that the company had seen an increase in sales on bikes, and that Sinora had refocused on core products that they had seen the brand’s next decade.
The brand is also continuing to expand its hospitality footprint with the announcement of its second Sinora hotel in downtown Indianapolis.
However, Sinora said she wasn’t completely shutting the bike door.
“You may not have a Sinora bike at the moment, but there are a lot of exciting developments after 2025, so that doesn’t mean they may not come back in the future,” Sinora said in a statement.

Elon Musk is leaving the Trump administration after he allocated 130 days for the “special government officials” to end.
President Donald Trump responded to media reports regarding alleged drug use by billionaires during the 2024 presidential election, saying he regularly doesn’t know Elon Musk as he uses drugs.
The New York Times reported that during his 2024 campaign with Trump, Musk frequently used drugs such as ketamine, ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms, citing an unnamed source.
Trump spoke to reporters on May 30 after returning from a rally in Pennsylvania. He denied knowledge of masked drug use and called him an “illusion.”
When asked if he was troubled by the report, Trump said: “I’m not troubled by anything with Elon.”
Reporters tried to ask for masks at an oval office event during the 2024 campaign. But Musk dodged the issue and criticized the New York Times report on Russian interference in the 2016 election.

President Donald Trump marked the end of Musk’s tenure with an event in the Oval Office on May 30, thanking the billionaires for his work leading government efficiency and giving him the golden key.
“Elon made a huge difference in the old way of doing business in Washington,” declared Trump.
The warm sendoff came after Musk struggled to lift the federal government’s cost cuts and offered far less than what he promised. He will make Washington, D.C., a much more polarizing figure, the subject of intense criticism and protest that pushed his business empire.
Musk appeared in an oval office dressed in black, from his doge hat to his t-shirt and blazer. He also had dark eyes given to him by his young son.

Meanwhile, Musk’s Doge’s work left his reputation badly hurt, forming a number of subtexts that brought together an oval office. Trump complained about the billionaire suffering from “slings and arrows,” and Musk said Doge has become a “bogeyman.”
Musk used bulldozes through the federal government using Doge, shutting down the entire agency and launching massive layoffs. As a result, May 30 said it had saved about $160 billion so far, far below the $2 trillion he spoke about on his campaign trajectory and the $1 trillion he pledged after Trump took office.
Critics have calculated that indiscriminate mutilation will hurt key programs, and nonpartisan researchers will revive workers whose savings are illegal to fire, defend those cases in court, and other effects such as loss of revenue by reducing the IRS. The resulting repulsion was at the expense of it.
The billionaire is now more focused on his businesses, such as Tesla, an electric car company that has been targeted by protesters and has seen sales, leaving him more focused on his business.

“I said, ‘Go ahead and slap me in the face.’ And he did it,” Musk said in the oval office to explain his black eyes.
The injury prompted immediate speculation on social media. The 14 children in the mask were a source of appeal as they stepped into the public spotlight to lead government efficiency.

The glow of musk from his son was not the only physical incident that appeared during an oval office event.
Trump appears to have thrust him into his face in front of the plane door where Macron’s wife’s video opened, saying, “Make sure the door remains closed.”
When asked about it, Trump downplayed the incident.
“He’s fine too. They’re fine,” Trump said. “They are two really good people I know them very well.”
Macron called speculation about the incident with his wife Bridget Macron “nonsense” and told the couple he was “joking.” The clip was filmed after the couple landed in Hanoi, Vietnam as part of their tour of Southeast Asia.
Is Diddy pardoned?
Trump also questioned the forgiveness of the rapper known as Diddy, saying that he had not been approached about it but had not ruled out the generosity move.
Fox News reporter Peter Doocey asked Trump on May 30 to ask musicians for assault and sex trafficking about the pardon of Sean Combs, a musician who is currently undergoing federal trial in New York. The two men have been friends in the past.
“Well, no one asked,” Trump replied. “I know people are thinking about it.”
A raccoon family recently entered the Airbus plant in Canada, adding a rare headache to PlaneMaker’s more familiar parts shortages and supply chain obstacles.
Five mammals have been found in a plant near Montreal, which produces the A220 passenger plane, sources told Reuters.
“After we got into the plane, a man came face to face with the raccoon,” the factory worker said.
A second source stated that the damage contained urine and a bitten wire.
Workers on the stretched assembly line had to be pulled away from their normal work to take on the time-consuming task of isolating the initial jet and inspecting the damages of fur intruders known to forage food trash cans.
Airbus confirmed the discovery of the raccoon family on one plane, but refused to say whether it delayed production or caused damage.
“Aircraft are pursuing an assembly process,” the spokesman said, with measures being put in place to ensure safety and quality.
The incident is merely a temporary headache, but as Airbus is in a hurry to speed up production, it warns airlines that it faces a delivery delay of another three years as it works through a backlog of supply chain issues.
Recent failures include missing engines, late arrivals of components and delayed interiors, Airbus said. However, there are rarely any emergency plans that require you to deal with omnivores drifting in rural factories.
“We had to back up everything up to inspect,” the second source explained.

Because Chinese device manufacturer IWalk remembers 27,500 portable power banks and can overheat and fire.
IWalk Magnetic Wireless Power Banks (prices from $20 to $57), sold on Amazon.com, iWalmall.com, and other e-commerce websites from July 2021 to March 2024, were recalled after the company reported 15 lithium-ion battery catch fires, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
A charger that is magnetically attached to a smartphone and powers other devices has lithium-ion batteries that can ignite, causing a risk of injury or death to consumers, the agency said.
Customers who purchase the recall will receive a full refund including iWalk Magnetic Wireless Power Banks (PowerGrip Slim with model number MXB008 and PowerGrip Mag with Model Numbers DBL6000M/DBL6000P), the company said on its recall website.
CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid: All of these chains are set to close stores. Hundreds have already been closed.

In another blow to one of the biggest celebrations of the LGTBQ+ people in North America, Pride Toronto said a few weeks before the festival’s set-off, the festival organizers said it was the direct result of Donald Trump’s campaign to eradicate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in the United States.
Kojo Modeste, executive director of Canadian Event, has announced plans to abandon the festival in the form of a single-line email.
Organizers warn that the loss of sponsors poses operational challenges for Pride Toronto, which attracts 3 million participants each year. Other organisations, including local trade unions, have stepped in to make up for the shortage, but Modeste told the Guardian that he was deeply concerned about the future of the celebration.
“Do you need to significantly reduce what the 2026 festival looks like? This is not where I want to go,” he said.
Home Depot told the Guardian that it has continuously reviewed the nonprofit’s contributions and decided not to contribute this year. Google told the newspaper that it would support “Toronto Googlers” and “community moments” of pride marching in the parade.
The sudden exits of Google and Home Depot follow the departure of three other prominent sponsors in February. Modeste didn’t name them at the time, but on Friday they revealed they were Nissan, Adidas and Clorox.
Nissan Canada said it cannot sponsor Toronto Pride because of “local decisions,” which it says is based on a reassessment of marketing and media activity. Adidas and Clorox were approached for comment.
“These are American companies and they show real colours,” Modeste said. “We thought they were in the community, but obviously it wasn’t.”
Corporate sponsorship not only pays for staff, but also heads towards hundreds of local artists, but also maintains pride as a free event.
Modeste said he grew up in a period before the widespread celebration of pride – and did not want it to become an experience for the younger generation today. “I don’t want to be someone who has to make that decision to take away pride from my community,” he said.
The condemnation of the White House’s diversity and inclusion efforts has led businesses to move away from festivals they once supported loudly, says Sui Sui, a professor at Toronto Metropolitan University who focuses on the DEI initiative.
Sui said the move also suggests that large sponsors that have been made in the past are tens of and motivated.
The Trump administration’s months of purge of US federal workers has led to the firing of tens of thousands of people, including those who worked in transferring diversity and equity initiatives.
Sui said the coldness of sponsors for the Pride event has also affected New York City and Philadelphia. Mastercard, Nissan, Pepsi, Garnier and more major backers abandoned the New York celebration, and Target and the Philadelphia Union left the Philadelphia Pride 365.
“Canada is following the lawsuit,” she said.
For the future, Pride Toronto and other Pride events may need to rely more heavily on grassroots efforts to continue the event, she said.
“It’s for them that they see who truly believes in the importance of pride.”

The advanced new augmented reality system projects navigation information including arrows floating in front of Vistiq to indicate turns and projects alerts. The new optics create a display that appears to be projected in the 10-meter space in front of the Vistiq, making them more clearly effective than previous AR systems.
The Vistiq is one of a handful of vehicles to reduce road noise and suspension from the tires using active noise cancellation. Its electric drivetrain is especially welcome considering it eliminates many sounds and vibrations that hide the noise of internal combustion vehicles.

Donald Trump has announced that he has doubled foreign tariffs on steel imports to 50% as he celebrated the “smash hit” agreement for Japan-based Japanese steel investing in American steel during a rally in Pennsylvania.
Surrounded by the orange hard hat man, Trump revealed the rise in tariff rates when he spoke at the US steel plant in West Mifflin, declaring that the dramatic hike would “make the US steel industry even safer.”
“No one is going to avoid that,” Trump said of the tariff hike from 25%. The announcement comes a day after a federal court of appeals temporarily granted Trump’s tariffs to effectively maintain a decision by the U.S. Trade Court that prevented the president from impose his duties.
In his remarks, Trump chanted “America!” chant, including protections for Japan’s investments to once again make American steelmakers “synonymous with greatness” and “ensure that all steel workers maintain their jobs and all facilities in the United States continue to thrive and open.”
There are few details released, but Trump told the steel workers in attendance that “there are a lot of ways you do it.”
“You said, ‘Please, sir, we don’t want this kind of success. That’s too much, sir,” the president said.
Trump has threw his full support behind the “partnership” between Japan and the US steel giant after claiming he was “completely against” Nippon Steel’s $14.9 billion bid for US rivals.
The president also claimed that the agreement ensured that US steel was under American control.
Trump framed the administration’s willingness to boost domestic steel production, not just “issues of dignity, prosperity, and pride, but more than anything else, national security.”
He accused Washington of “decrying decades of betrayal, incompetence, stupidity and corruption.”
“We don’t want the future of America to be built with Shanghai’s crude steel. We want to build it with the strength and pride of Pittsburgh,” he said.
In his remarks at a US steel factory, Trump also repeated many false claims that have been featured in his rally, including the lies that the 2020 election was stolen from him. He won the 2024 victory and gestured towards his ears, grazing by assassin bullets at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania last year, saying it proved to be watching over him.
He also called on Congress to pass “one big and beautiful bill” and urged residents to support the bill with Republicans and Senators.

The White House is planning a massive military parade to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Army and President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.
As the US military celebrates its 250th anniversary, thousands of troops join President Donald Trump, and he celebrates another year of his life.
The U.S. Army plans to give Trump, 78 and the country a “Army Birthday Parade” on June 14th.
The parade features army equipment in uniforms from the past and present, elevated roads and 6,600 soldiers, and concludes the week of programming, designed to celebrate the enduring legacy of the Army.
“This year’s birthday theme, “This We We Defend,” was first used as a battle cry by the Continental Army. It reminds us today that our Army’s purpose is clear. “We continue to be committed to honing our combat skills, implementing standards and discipline, and living the values that have defined our military for the past 250 years.”
The Army’s birthday parade crosses around the sunset in front of a Trump viewing stand on Constitutional Avenue just south of the White House.
He will soon turn 79 and will be attending the enlistment and re-enlistment ceremony after the parade. A parachute demonstration with Golden Knights and firework displays concludes the evening festivities.

When will the “military birthday parade” be located?
The two-hour event, the massive military spectacle and an unofficial birthday party is scheduled to take place at Constitutional Avenue near the National Mall in Washington, D.C., amongst 15.th Street and 23rd NW as per the constitution.
Both the parade and celebrations are scheduled to begin at 6:30pm ET, but guests will be allowed as early as 2pm on the day of the parade. The event will close around 9:30 PM ET.

The Court of Appeals will allow Trump’s tariffs while the appeal unfolds
The appeals court held that the Trump administration would be allowed to collect tariffs, but an appeal will be made regarding the previous court’s decision.
President Donald Trump said he had doubled tariffs on foreign steel to 50% when he visited the US steel facility in Pennsylvania on May 30.
After taking office for the second time, Trump has reimposed tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum, recovering 25% collections weakened by exclusions and allocations from numerous countries, as well as thousands of product-specific exclusions.
Trump said higher tariffs would secure more US steel industry.
“No one is going to get around that,” Trump said.
Trump said in Pennsylvania he would strengthen the US steel industry to promote a partnership between US steel and Japanese steel in Japan.

The fate of the beloved Thrifty ice cream brand remains uncertain after Rite Aid filed for bankruptcy and announced plans to close hundreds of stores in early May.
The ice cream company began in 1940 at a small factory in West Hollywood, California, and was sold at a now-deprecated Thrifty drugstore, according to the Thrifty website.
In 1996, Rite Aid acquired Thrifty and maintains ice cream counters mainly in several locations on the West Coast.
As part of the ongoing bankruptcy proceedings, most of Rite Aid’s assets will be sold and auctions will be set for June 20th, according to Reuters. However, it is unclear whether this means that thri sin will be completely eliminated.
Rift ice cream and ritual aid did not immediately return a request for comment on USA Today.

According to its website, RIF about ice cream started when RIF about drug store owners Harry, Robert Born and Norman Levin began producing ice cream for sale at the chain’s soda fountain.
According to Thrifty, ice cream had reached “cult status” on the West Coast by the 1970s, with “critical celebrity screams.”
For years, drugstore patrons were able to get a signature cylindrical scoop while receiving their prescriptions. Eventually, the company began producing ice cream cartons. Ice cream is still available for sale at retailers such as Rite Aid and Albertsons, according to its website.

According to the pharmacy website, some ritual auxiliary facilities still offer ideas cream scoops about rif.
As of May 30th, the Thrifty website no longer lists certain locations, so it is unknown how many are still open.
The Thrifty website says counters are open in California, Arizona and other parts of the US and Mexico.
Ice cream cartons are still available in several grocery stores, and Thrifty says on its website it will also work with several individual distributors and retailers.

As the future of Thrifty Ice Cream depends on the balance, longtime fans of the brand joined social media to say goodbye to Scoop.
“For all the people who say you can go to the market and buy it, you’re missing points,” one person wrote. “It’s the whole experience of spitting on different flavors and walking to the dipping cabinet where you get that cone shape with that special rif 30 scooper.”
Thrifty uses a trigger-driven scoop that creates a cylinder-shaped ice cream scoop. The scoop is available for purchase on Amazon.
Another user wrote, “I hope the ice cream is saved about!”
One person who said he was a relative of the brand’s founder said, “It’s sad to think this could be the end of the era.”
