A truck carrying one of the Army M1 Abrams tanks that took part in President Donald Trump’s parade in honor of his 250th birthday of service, attacked and killed a woman in Washington.

The accident occurred on the evening of June 16th – two days after the parade – on New York Avenue, but according to interior documents obtained by USA Today, the contracted truck driver was transporting tanks from the staging area in West Potomac Park to Raylide in Jesup, Maryland. The trucks were part of a large convoy of vehicles.

The woman whose name was not included in the document was alone at the time of her death.

Police spokesman Freddie Talbert said officers responded to a call in the city’s northeastern region shortly after 9:30pm and responded to a call in the city’s northeastern region just after 9:30pm.

Firefighters and medical personnel also arrived at the scene. “The pedestrian was declared dead despite efforts to save lives,” Talbert said..

The police are investigating.

Army documents show that initial police investigations resulted in clearing the driver of the truck that was intended or negligent in the crime. No soldiers were involved in the accident. The Army declined to respond to questions from USA Today and referred the Washington Police to the question.

Up to 120 military vehicles participated in the parade. This also featured around 6,000 soldiers in uniforms representing conflicts from different eras. Participating M1 Abrams tanks traveled by train from Fort Hood, Texas, formerly known as Fort Cabazos.
