Don’t count Kansas City chiefs while the NFL is still dead

0

play

  • The Kansas City Chiefs secured their first victory of the season against the New York Giants, showing signs of overcoming an early slump.
  • Patrick Mahomes received more support from the attack, with multiple players contributing to the run and passing game.
  • Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton spent his career night helping fill the gap left by injured and stopped players.

Now it’s more similar.

Patrick Mahomes didn’t need to throw it and It runs it like the Kansas City Chiefs won the first game of the season on Sunday night.

Now, the Chiefs Kingdom. Exhale.

Mahomes had significant assistance! From the large character when the Chiefs defeated the New York Giants (22-9) at MetLife Stadium. No, Chiefs’ crime has not reached playoff levels. At least not yet. But there have been progress. There’s a bit more hope as the Chiefs showed clear signs of getting out of funk.

Filming, the fiery sight of Travis Kelse Yapping with his venerable coach Andy Reed could have been another indication that things might eventually return to normal for a team that stumbled on a Super Bowl hangover that was apparent after a historic three-peat bid.

And hey, Mahomes, who completed 22 of 37 passes for 224 yards, rushed all two yards with a touchdown and a zero pick on Sunday! In the first two games, he rushed over all NFL quarterbacks with 57 and 66 yards, but this wasn’t the ideal statistic for one of the game’s most electric passersby.

Given the misfires of the first two games and the load that Mahome endured as the team’s main rusher with both losses, Formula appears to be in turn in what he now imagines as a lead plan.

Look at all your contributors. Tyquan Thornton – Who? – Played a career night with five catches for 71 yards, demonstrating the ability to supply Xavier worthy (dislocated shoulder) and some of the missing big play punches without Laci Rice (suspension). Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt rushed for 79 yards. This was even more important considering that Mahomes tallied 47 yards each to the ground during a 0-2 start, which ran for 123 yards. Juju Smith-Schuster, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, Kelce and Noah Gray split 15 catches. There was a balance and purpose.

“We just want to play better,” Mahomes said in a post-game interview about NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcast. “We don’t meet the standards.”

We know. The first half of Sunday night was also tattered. They settled on three Harrison Backer field goals and a fourth attempt that kicker missed. The turnaround came after halftime. Maybe if the Chief can go back into the mix and play himself and win a 10, it will prove to be a pivotal momentth Straight AFC waist crown.

why? The Chiefs made a second half kickoff, producing a crisp 11-play, 74-yard drive with Mahomes’ 5-yard TD toss capped by Thornton. In the fourth quarter, they were 77 yards on nine plays, closing off a Hunt’s 1-yard score. Two long TD drives can bring amazing unit reliability.

Mahomes said, “We had to clean it up.”

The work is not perfect for units trying to overcome the absence of big play receivers. The Chiefs (1-2) need to sharpen them even further next weekend with an explosive attack that will bring the Baltimore Ravens along with Lamar Jackson to challenge Mahomes & Company to keep pace.

It’s a measurement stick that says more about whether the Chief has returned to the mix as a candidate for the top.

Morgan Murphy enters the race to replace Tommy Tuberville in the US Senate

play

WASHINGTON – Competition to replace Tommy Tuberville in the US Senate is intensifying. Trump administration officials helped coordinate the unprecedented blockade of military confirmation.

Morgan Murphy, a former Tuberville aide who worked at the White House until last week, announces his candidacy for Alabama’s Open Senate seat at an event in Birmingham, Alabama tonight.

Murphy, a captain of the US Navy Reserve and a former food critic who worked for Southern Living and Forbes before entering the national security space, is his first candidate. He earned notoriety in Washington for his months-long retention of Engineering Tuberville’s military promotion over objections to the Department of Defense abortion policy.

“I feel that President Trump’s first American agenda is called to run because it is the first political movement of my life that makes sense to me,” Murphy told USA Today. “And I would like to see his commonsense approach to government not only for another three and a half years while he is in office, but even more.”

Tuberville bans re-elect bids to run for Governor of Alabama in 2026. The former Auburn University football coach did not respond to requests for comment.

Alabama was rated “safe” for Republicans

A small number of Republicans have already declared their candidacy for the Tuberville Senate seat, including former U.S. Marine Corps Jared Hudson, state Attorney General Steve Marshall and another closely-appointed Trump nominee, Barry Moore.

Winners of the GOP contest in Alabama could potentially win the general election. Alabama is generally considered a “safe” seat for Republicans.

Marshall had an early lead among Republican voters in a late August poll by the Alabama poll. He supported 16% of Moore and 7% of Hudson in the votes 37% respectively. Businessman Rodney Walker was 1% in the survey. 40% of those who voted said they were undecided.

Murphy, 53, floated a Senate bid shortly after Tuberville announced his plan in May. He has one 10-year-old son and lives in Birmingham.

His previous roles include serving as Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller’s spokesman for Trump’s first administration and serving as a military aide for Tuberville. Murphy also served as a senior fellow at the American First Policy Institute in support of Trump, along with Keith Kellogg, the president’s special envoy to Ukraine.

He also served as Kellogg’s public diplomacy director at the White House and the State Department from the end of February until last Friday.

Miller told USA Today by phone that Murphy was assigned to handle his official duties, but they were of similar age and quickly bonded, making Murphy one of his most trusted advisors.

The Senate’s confirmation and retention strategy that Murphy worked on in his Tuberville office was “very effective and very transformative,” and other policies he developed became a template for how the Trump administration tried to reduce the size of its government, Miller said.

Trump announced in early September that he plans to move US Space Command to Huntsville, Alabama to give Murphy the launch of a defense investment campaign, Miller noted. “He’s kind of guy, he knows business,” said a former Trump administration official.

In a statement about his candidacy, Murphy highlighted Trump’s relationship with Tuberville. His office resigned from a profile that he believes has coordinated military ownership.

“I believe both President Trump and Coach Tuberville demand excellence at all levels,” Murphy told USA Today. “I am proud to have worked for both men and I will make it my mission to continue their fight in the US Senate for years to come.”

Kellogg did not provide a comment. The White House did not respond to requests.

Murphy spoke to Tuberville and told the White House he was informed of his bid but that he had not spoken directly to the president.

“The president likes to support the winners. I want to prove that I have support before I ask him for his support,” Murphy said.

He also said he would like to gain support at the Primary in Twoverville, but did not participate in the race in the hopes of automatically receiving any of the former boss’ support.

Trump has a complex history with support from the Alabama Senate

Trump has easily won Alabama with over 60% of his vote in the last three elections. But when it comes to his Senate support, the state was a source of heartburn.

Former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions resigned from his Alabama seat in 2017 to join the Trump administration. He was kicked out of his role the following year after an attack from Trump and over his handling of Russian conspiracy investigations in the department.

Luther Strange, then-Alabama Attorney General, was appointed to fill the vacancy and made a special election to support Trump to fill the terms of office for the remaining sessions. However, he lost his GOP primary to Roy Moore, a former Supreme Court judge of the Alabama Supreme Court, whose campaign was wrecked by allegations of sexual assault.

Republicans kept their distance from Moore until Trump supported him just before the election. The close contest made former US lawyer Doug Jones the first Democrat to be elected to the Senate from Alabama for the first time in 25 years.

While sitting on the poll in 2020, Trump was waiting for his retired football coach to support Tuberville until it was leaked for the session.

In other Senate seats in Alabama, Trump supported support from former Rep. Mo Brooks in the Republican primary and later yanks. He then ultimately supported the winners in the 2022 contest. Senator Katie Britt is Richard Shelby, a former Republican aide who has retired from his seat.

This is the most affordable state for senior care

0

play

When older Americans contemplate their retirement and consider whether to quit in another state, the local costs of senior care may not exceed their hearts.

However, more than 80% of Americans will need long-term care at some point, according to the Boston College Retirement Research Center. Long-term care supports daily activities such as dressing and eating.

A recent report from senior care platform Caring.com mentions the affordability of assisted living, nursing homes, and other indicators of long-term care.

The cost of senior care varies dramatically depending on the condition. South Dakota averages $52,200 a year, while Connecticut costs $107,460. The Private Nursing Homeroom costs $85,045 in Texas and $205,130 in Oregon.

The long-term care costs are amazing

Wherever you leave, the long-term cost of care is incredible. Living assistance averages $5,900 a month in 2024, according to Carescout, a long-term care network. Private rooms in nursing homes averaged $10,646 a month.

Many Americans don’t know what they cost, and many Americans assume they don’t have to pay them. National surveys show that most Americans mistakenly believe Medicare covers long-term care.

“I think the first thing that surprised them was that Medicare doesn’t pay for it,” said Doug Robertson, senior director of Right at Home At Light, a home care provider. “The sticker shock is something they didn’t plan and it’s abrupt.”

Much of the data in the Caring.com report comes from Carescout, which publishes median prices by state for long-term care. Here are some outstanding things:

  • The cheapest state for assisting living is South Dakota, costing $52,200 per year. Mississippi and Alabama are second and third.
  • Texas has the lowest cost for private nursing home rooms, costing $85,045 a year. Missouri and Oklahoma are second and third.

Mississippi is the most affordable state for senior care

The Caring.com analysis identifies Mississippi as the most affordable statewide for senior care, followed by Texas and Arkansas.

The most affordable states: Hawaii, Connecticut and Rhode Island follow suit.

“There are definitely different cost levels for different states,” said Susann Crawford, Senior Vice President of Sales at Caring.com. “I don’t think anyone in the 50s thought they would spend $13,000 a month on helping people livelihoods.

Of course, when it comes to senior care, it’s not just about quality to consider.

AARP released its state scorecard on long-term care in 2023. This was rated not only for affordability, but also for factors such as access, consumer choice, safety and quality.

The AARP scorecard, along with the District of Columbia, identified Toptier states as Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota and Washington. There is no ranking close to the top of the Caring.com report. This only takes into consideration affordability.

“I think quality is a big aspect here,” T said. said Lindsay Theodore, a certified financial planner at RowePrice and co-author of another recent report on long-term care.

“When you move to a low-cost or low-tax state, do you have to think about what you’re giving up because of affordable prices?” she said.

Backup quarterback, touchdowns are fully returned

0

play

  • Five backup QBs played on Sundays, most of which were won.
  • Nine non-aggressive TDs scored on Sunday, with the weekends the most in five years.
  • Seven games were decided in the final three minutes. One weekend is unusual.

32 things we learned from the third week of the 2025 NFL season:

0. The number of rushing TDSs recorded by Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs on Sunday beat an 11-game winning streak (including the playoffs) that scored at least once on the ground, the sixth-longest in league history. Jacobs, who humiliated his injuries, averaged 1.9 yards on 16 carries and had the worst output of his seven-year career with at least 12 attempts, as the pack was shocked 13-10 by the Cleveland Browns.

1. The Minnesota Viking players scored two defensive touchdowns in one game, with CB Isaiah Rogers becoming a founding member on Sunday. On the day, the league’s most dominant Mr. Rogers returned an 87-yard intercept for a score and brought back 66 yards to another on a 48-10 blowout for the Cincinnati Bengals. For the proper method, Rogers caused two fumbles, including one he returned, disbanding two passes. He is the first player since 2000 to have two TDs and a forced fumble in the same game. You can also honor the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

2. The number of backup quarterbacks is losing on Sunday. New York Jets Tyrod Taylor and Cincinnati Bengals Jake Browning were unable to pick up the looseness of injured Justin Fields and Joe Barrow, respectively.

3. The number of backup quarterbacks who won Sunday, Vikings Carson Wentz, Washington commander Marcus Mariota and San Francisco 49ers McJones all fill in the WS of injured JJ McCarthy, Jayden Daniels and Brock Purdy respectively.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers is ranked solo for TD pass (510) fourth in league history (510) after beating his tie with Brett Fabre (508) on Sunday. Rogers has a way to catch the third Peyton Manning (539) on the list.

4a. Also on Sunday, Rodgers was sixth in league history to surpass Philip Rivers by passing yards (63,538).

5. Speaking of “backup” quarterbacks, Kirk’s cousin of the Atlanta Falcons has made $27.5 million this season and appears to remain one for now, despite taking over the highly ineffective second-year QB1 Michael Penix Jr. on Sunday.

6. The number of undefeated teams, chargers, bills, Colts, 49ers, Eagle and Bucks all improve to 3-0.

6a. The number of teams reaching Week 4, the Texans, Jets, Titans, Dolphins and Saints are all set to 0-3, with the Giants or Chiefs being placed on Sunday night.

7. The number of games up to Sunday afternoon of the third week was determined by the final 2 minutes and 30 seconds, with a 30-second limit. This is why we see it!

7a. According to the NFL, seven games in Week 3 (no overtime) that produced a game-winning score in the last three minutes is the most tied in a week since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.

8. Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams endured his (natural) share of criticism. But he matched his best career on Sunday’s show props – perhaps his best career matched, when he matched his career with four TD passes, creating a personal best rating of 142.6 passersby on the Dallas Cowboys 31-14 beatdown. Maybe he’s about to take off with rookie coach Ben Johnson.

9. Number of non-aggressive touchdowns scored on Sunday – five through defense, two punt returns, two blocked field goal tries. It’s the most in a week since 2020.

10. Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson and Cincinnati’s Jammer Chase – the catch by former LSU teammates is probably the league’s two best receivers and a strange, biased matchup between teams deploying backup QBs.

11. Steelers’ OLB TJ Watt had six consecutive games, including the playoffs, but ultimately won the first two of the season in a 21-14 loss by the New England Patriots on Sunday. Previously, Watt had no bagless streak of more than three games in his nine-year career.

12. Speaking of bags, Washington Commander LB Bobby Wagner spent two Sundays on Sunday in a 41-24 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, if they were in the future Hall of Fame. Pass Rush Impact is not Wagner who ultimately puts Wagner in Canton, but this was the fifth time in his 14-year career that Blitzer, typically effective in the game, had multiple sacks.

13. Buffalo Bill is the number of consecutive regular-season games that have won at Highmark Stadium back to the 2023 season, which is currently the longest home heater in the league. The perennial AFC East Champion is not much news for the rest of the meeting as they are on track to gain a home field advantage in the playoffs this season in the building’s final season.

14. Even if Electric Daniels and RB Austin Ekeller lose the season, Washington ran for 201 yards on the committee on Sunday.

15. They weren’t necessarily impactful, but Raiders WR Tre Tucker caught three TD passes from Genosmith, who lost to Washington on Sunday. Tucker already has five in 2025, combining totals – totals – from his first two NFL seasons.

16. The number of wins Wentz has been credited since the start of the 2020 season. Even more noteworthy, since then he has started six different teams in each of the past six years – Super Bowl era (since 1966) – making a (very) successful debut (very) successful debut (very) successful debut (very) successful debut (173 yards, 2 TDs pass) on Sunday in a victory in Browning Bengal.

17. “Do you believe in miracles? Yes!” If only Al Michaels had beaten the Los Angeles Rams in the Philadelphia Eagles 33-26 comeback. Not only did Philadelphia score a second nail bitter past the LA-Rams, but it almost disrupted the Eagles in the division round of the playoffs at Lincoln Financial Field in January – a 336-pound DT Jordan Davis’s 61-yard TD run allowed Philadelphia to cover the point following a block of field goal attempts wearing the Rams’ game…

18. Davis’ block came to another person’s heel by teammate Jalen Carter. The Eagles became the first team since at least 1978 to block FG’s pair try in the fourth quarter of the same game.

19. The Jets won their first victory with rookie HC Aarong Len, taking a 27-26 lead in under two minutes to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after Del Will MacDonald IV blocked his own field goal attempt and paid for the dirt by returning 50 yards.

20. The number of drives the Indianapolis Colts took to punt in the end is the most to start the NFL season. And speaking of 20, it was a lovely punt by Indy’s Rigoberto Sanchez. He dropped 46 yards within the Tennessee Titans’ 20-yard line.

twenty one. Number of total penalties for 205 yards for the Bucs-Jets game (14 by Tampa Bay).

twenty two. Unfortunately, the Jets didn’t have enough juice to win the Todd Bowls Bowl. The Todd Bowl drove 48 yards in the final seven plays and set the 36 yard FG with a gun that won the Chase McLaughlin game.

twenty three. Presumably Sunday’s dense shaving was due to the white throwback of Tampa Bay’s “creasicles” and was last worn in 1976 – when the Extended Bucs finished 0-14.

twenty four. Tampa Bay has started 2-0 each of the last five seasons, including all four of the Bowles, and is 3-0 for the first time since 2005.

twenty five. But Taylor (197 yards, 2 TDS, 6 picks, 48 rushing yards for the team) – 15th year vet had his first start since 2023. The duo were teammates for the Browns in 2018, when Mayfield was the No. 1 pick in the draft that year.

26. Not-to-See-to-See Rookie Watch: No. 1 Pick Come Ward appears to be overmatched for the Tennessee Titans, throwing a pick 6 early and being plundered four more times for the winning team. This is the life of a young QB trying to lift the frail franchise…but the 85 sack pace ward remains very worried.

27. Not-To-See-To-See Rookie Watch: No. 2 Pick Travis Hunter played 80 more snaps (43 per PFF) and created six tackles, but caught one ball for 21 yards as a receiver. Again, I’m not going to pick him here, but he doesn’t show the type of influence on either side of the ball. But let’s give hunters (many) more time.

28. Not-To-See-To-See Rookie Watch: No. Six-pick Ashton Janti rushed for 63 yards on 17 carries in Sunday’s defeat. It’s easily the best show of his three games, and this tells us how it’s going so far.

28a. Jeanti’s previous NFL experience can be described as “boisey to man.”

29. A watch from a lot of people’s rookie? Some of what Cleveland got to give up the picks used by Jacksonville in this year’s draft, Browns RB Quinshon Judkins, and Hunter, ran for 94 yards and TD on Sunday, running his second NFL game after the offseason, where his second NFL game caused attention he didn’t want. However, he currently has 155 rushing yards after two games.

30. A watch from a lot of people’s rookie? Seattle Seahawks WR Torrey Horton, 166th This year’s draft pick scored at a 95-yard punt return and a 14-yard reception in a 44-13 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Horton has already found the end zone three times in three NFL games.

31. The match against the Jets, which permanently revived last season’s 1980s look, was not the only team in a throwback or alternative uniform.

32. Also included are the Panthers (black helmet), Browns (debuts in all brown “Alpha Dawg” looks), the Jags (returns in “Prowler”), the Patriots (pat Patriot throwback), Saints (debuts in alternative white helmets), and the 49ers (throwback).

32a. The Baltimore Ravens are on the All Black kit Monday night. It’s a highly anticipated matchup against the Detroit Lions, and they’re 20-6 in their alternatives.

Donald Trump teases autism announcement at the Charlie Kirk Memorial

Trump said his administration will reveal how autism occurs.

play

In his remarks at the public memorial of Charlie Kirk, President Donald Trump teased future announcements about the administration’s discovery regarding autism.

“You’re going to think that’s amazing,” Trump told the crowd in Glendale, Arizona, in memory of conservative activists. “I think we’ve found the answer to autism.”

Calling one of the biggest announcements in “The History of the Country,” the president said he would hold a press conference on September 22 with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The Trump administration is planning to announce that the use of Tylenol during pregnancy could contribute to the development of autism in children, according to Politico and the Washington Post. The president and his advisors are also expected to discuss potential treatments for autism, the news organization reported.

The administration will discuss how autism occurs. So we don’t let it happen anymore and how it gets at least somewhat better when you have it,” Trump said.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s report on autism

In late August, Kennedy said that autism research, which led in April, discovered “interventions” that could cause neurodevelopmental disorders. He announced that the results of the study will be published in September.

Earlier this month, the Wall Street Journal reported that Kennedy’s autism report linked the use of popular over-the-counter painkillers by pregnant women to autism. Acetaminophen, a common form of tylenol, is commonly used by pregnant women. Pregnant women have already been advised by the Food and Drug Administration to avoid using ibuprofen 20 weeks after pregnancy.

Kennedy, a vaccine skeptic who linked the vaccine to autism, claims that the US has grasped the “autism epidemic” that has been fuelled by “environmental toxins.” Decades of research have not provided a solid answer on what contributes to autism, but many scientists believe that genetics plays a potential role in combination with environmental influences.

Kennedy’s rhetoric about autism is embraced by some corners of the autism community, and others have malicious intentions. The idea that vaccines cause autism has been challenged by many scientific research, which has been rejected as a cause by all major scientific organizations.

Increased diagnosis of autism

The US autism diagnosis has increased significantly since 2000, increasing public concern.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that in 2022, one in 31 people were diagnosed with autism by the age of eight in the United States, up from 36 children in 2020. The prevalence of autism among juveniles was 1 in 20 cases, with a proportion of five times that in 2022 than in 2000.

Kennedy characterizes the increase in autism rate as “a ramp ramp running through the epidemic,” but CDC researchers attribute it to “increased identification” of very young children and groups that were not previously identified.

Autism spectrum disorder, or ASD, is the clinical name of what most people call autism, and is diagnosed based on challenges that involve social skills, communication, and repetitive behavior. It is a spectrum, meaning symptoms vary widely. Percentages can’t communicate at all, and others are very successful in some areas of life.

Priscilla Presley and Robert Kardashian were in bed, Elvis was called

0

Priscilla Presley did not tell Elvis that Robert Kardashian was in her bedroom. He would be “literally ballistic.” ”

Priscilla Presley dated many famous men after her divorce from Elvis, but she maintained her relationship with Robert Kardashian with herself.

In her new memoir, “I Leave You: Life After Elvis” (Grand Central Publishing, 320 pp., released Tuesday, September 23), she recalls jumping out of bed with the Kardashian, who was sleeping and sleeping at 2am, calling from the n’roll of Rocko Block.

“If I had known Robert was in my bedroom, I would have been literally ballistic,” she wrote in an early copy of the book, provided by USA Today. “Elvis always had a loaded gun and sometimes multiple guns.”

It never happened to him that Priscilla might have been asleep. And “It certainly never happened to him that I might be with another guy.” She recalls the enthusiasm that Elvis explained the great show that night (“Damn, I was knocking ’emot’!”).

After the chat she returned under the cover, but neither person was wise. “He never knew Elvis had called, and Elvis never knew about Robert.”

She makes clear elsewhere in the book Not once Called me when I was in love with someone! ”

Priscilla, now 80 years old, met Robert through the ex-wife of Elvis’s road manager Joe Esposito, a member of Elvis’ road manager, Memphis Mafia, who began dating Robert’s brother Tom. (They continued to get married.)

Robert wanted to marry Priscilla, but within a few months he knew that he wasn’t her future. “I wasn’t ready to marry again.”

“Robert was a sweet guy and I liked him,” she adds. However, “Robert had a tough job as a lawyer, working long hours five days a week. By the time the weekend was rolling, all he wanted was a quiet night at home with popcorn and good movies. It was fine at first, but I gradually became more restless.”

But they remained friends and they were able to speak for the last time, as Kim Kardashian called Priscilla from the hospital in 2003 when Robert was dying of esophageal cancer.

“Robert and I had a final conversation before he passed away,” she writes. “He is a kind man and I remember him with great affection.”

After their split, Kardashian married Kris Jenner in 1978 and had four children, Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob. Chris later married Cait Lin Jenner, who was married to Elvis’s Post-Trisilla girlfriend Linda Thompson, and had two children, Kendall and Kylie.

  • We investigate pet-friendly accommodation, transportation options and local regulations before travel.
  • Make sure your pet has the right identification, necessary vaccinations, and travel essential equipment.
  • If you are flying with your pet, talk to your veterinarian for advice on medication, travel anxiety, and airline regulations.

Lori Karev will not take leave without three dogs towing. She often takes them around town as well.

However, Kalef has a difficult rule that if the temperature is too hot or too cold outside, it won’t leave it in the car. That’s because it can quickly get too hot in the car for your dog or too cold, putting your health at risk.

Karev, you know. As director of the Global Animal Rescue Group SPCA International’s program, Kalef is well versed in animal transport.

For example, about six years ago, SPCA International was part of an effort to bring dozens of dogs from Chernobyl in northern Ukraine to North America. The dog was a descendant of a pet left behind in 1986, and the explosion at the city’s nuclear power plant forced over 100,000 people to evacuate and leave the pet behind.

Most recently, in April 2024, SPCA International brought 70 dogs to the US from the West Bank. As the Detroit Free Press reported, ten dogs (who were caught up in the battle from the Israel-Hamas War) that were part of the USA Today network ended in Michigan for adoption.

Kalef said that being able to travel with your pet would be rewarding for both you and the animal.

“I don’t take vacation without a dog because dogs make everything better,” Karev said. “So I want to give them the best life I can. Also, for the pets, you are their entire life. So when you take them with you, they live your life with you.

So here are some tips that Kalef and others recommend if you want to travel with your pet.

When should you leave your dog at home?

Cory Keller, CEO of Rescue Group Friends for Animals in Metro Detroit, said every summer he was flooded with calls from people reporting his organization leaving their dogs in his car, and that callers were worried that it would be too hot in the car. However, the caller doesn’t know what to do. The group encourages police to contact their local police station as they try to find the owner and try to break the car windows if necessary.

However, to avoid being someone with broken windows, Keller recommends deliberately making your plans. Because even if you think you’re driving in the store for 10 minutes, if the outside is 70 degrees, the interior of the car can heat up to 90 degrees in 10 minutes.

“So it’s very hot to have your dog there for ten minutes,” Keller said. “And if you get longer, that’s when your dog gets a heat stroke. Or, if someone sees the dog in the car and calls 911, someone will come and break the window.”

If you think the solution is to leave your car on the air conditioner, Keller said.

“We didn’t leave the dog in the car when he was running because it could get bored and get bored where there’s a pedal or bite the wire,” Keller said. “The safety of my dog is easy to keep my animals at home.”

That’s true unless you have Tesla, says Brian Moody, executive editor of AutoTrader. Moody said one thing Tesla absolutely nailed was “dog mode.”

“This is an A/C setting,” Moody said. “So, because the car is electricity, you can lock the car and keep it running, and on the central touchscreen, “The driver will come back soon. Don’t worry about the air conditioner being on. Whatever they set it up.

Dog-friendly car brands

If you know you drive a lot with your dog mates, Moody said there are certain brands other than Tesla that provide ammunition that makes travel easier and safer for you and your pet.

Many brands sell seat belt harnesses to tie your dog to a seat to prevent him from flying forward if he stops fast. There are also seat belt extenders that can be purchased at most pet stores. One end snaps to the car’s seat belt receptor, while the other end snaps to the animal’s harness or collar, helping to hold them in place when it stops.

Moody often travels in the car with his dog DJ and says it is the key to making sure his dog is safe. Volvo offers cages specifically installed to fit Volvo and dogs, while others use common wooden frames in cargo areas.

“This is a very elegant solution that can take up either half the cargo space or the entire cargo space, with a small door,” Moody said. “This is a great solution” shows the cost of a website under $200.

Similarly, Subaru sells many pet accessories, including weighted travel water bowls with anti-splash guards, Moody said. Drivers can also get small fans connecting to the rear cargo area if the dog is traveling to keep the animal comfortable.

“Subaru’s commitment to dogs isn’t just because they put their dogs in the commercial,” Moody said. “They even require dealers to contribute to local pet shelters. They often have dog-friendly spaces for dealers and have branded chew toys.”

Many other car manufacturers also sell dog accessories. Nissan, for example, offers dog lamps, he said.

“The reason that’s important is that Nissan has a lamp that can get into a small SUV, especially since the best car for dogs is a low-ground vehicle, so it’s not that big over time. “It’s $280 and it’s folded so you can carry it around.”

Road rules

Before deciding to take your pet anywhere, Keller told him to ask himself: Do you know how well my pet is traveling? Do they need sedatives to avoid stress?

“My cat, Dave, she crys every time she puts her in a career to go to the vet,” Keller said. “A very long distance, if I should take medicine to help her travel, I’ll talk to the vet.”

Keller said preparation is important and knows whether there is a local vet in the area if you need it, whatever your final destination is.

Kalef recommends not feeding them about an hour before the trip, as some pets feel sick when they are on a car or plane.

If you have successfully decided on a pet trip, you are ready. Kalef said it’s important to make sure your pets are up to date with vaccines.

Basics that bring:

  • Snacks and food they are used to eating.
  • You know where you can stop to get water, a bowl of running water, or animal water.
  • For dogs, poop bag. For cats, kitten trash, and pots.
  • Just in case your first aid kit with gauze and bandages gets injured.
  • Veterinarian contact information or destination veterinarian.
  • The medicine they take.
  • For dogs, a very long leash gives them freedom without leaning.
  • I draw my ID and phone number. Microchip the animal with contact information registered.
  • In the case of cats, if the cat hooks the collar on something, get a breakaway collar to avoid suffocating the cat and make sure the cat hooks the collar.
  • If you plan to go near a boat or water, breathe life into the animal’s suitable for you.
  • If you are camping, make sure there are no toxic plants nearby and prove the area to be aware of wildlife.

Find a place to stay with your pet

Kalef said that most hotels and Airbnbs that allow pets are limited to two, so it can be difficult to find a place to allow them to stay with their three dogs.

There is a site called Bringfido that lists pet-friendly hotels and Airbns, but she warns that many places advertise as pet-friendly, but it’s a good idea to call and confirm.

“They advertised as pet friendly two years ago, and some say they’re no longer allowed,” Karev said. “And some will allow you to bring more than two pets. And while most pet-friendly hotels allow dogs, not cats, so it’s important to be careful.”

If you frequently return to the location, you can develop a relationship with the Airbnb host, helping them know what you and your dog look like, and make it easier for them to re-book there in the future, Kalef said.

Kalef said most places can’t leave your animals alone in hotels or Airbnb. Kalef said they could search for pet sitters in the area. There is a site called Rover that offers pet sitters. If you do research first, Kalef said there are plenty of pet-friendly patios in the restaurant.

Finally, Kalef uses tracker collars for his dogs. Essentially, it’s a GPS device that fits her dog’s collar, where she can see where the dog is in real time if one of the dogs gets lost. The tracker comes in a variety of options and price ranges listed at www.chewy.com.

“There are limitations to accepting cells,” Kalef said. “But 99% of the time, it was a life-saving technique.”

Keller added a final suggestion. Make sure the owner’s name and phone number are sewn or embroidered on your pet collar as the tag may fall off.

“If anything happens, I want to check everything out, as my name is everywhere in the animal,” Keller said.

Fly with Fido

Kalef said if you’re going on a short trip that you have to take into the air, airline travel is stressful to animals and hence keeps your pets at home. SPCA International does not recommend using sedation because side effects are unknown, she said.

If you need to fly to relocate, or for other reasons, Kalef and Keller said there are airlines where your pets can fly in the cabin with you at an additional fee. Kalef said some pet-friendly airlines allow animals to fly without cages such as K9 jets and bark.

“If you plan to fly with your pet, all airlines have different policies, so there’s a lot of planning,” Kalef said.

For example, to fly internationally, you need to make sure you don’t go to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There are around 113 high-risk rabies countries. If you are there, there are some rules to keep a dog in that country or to return to the US after visiting such a country. Meeting these rules can potentially exceed the extra $750 to $1,000.

If you are flying domestically, you will get a direct flight, know the airline’s policies, and have a wooden frame approved by the pet airline. Keller said some airlines do not allow short-nosed dogs, such as French bulldogs, to fly at all due to the stress that dogs have on breathing ability.

If the airline allows pets, it is always better to fly by plane than to cargo. If they have to go for cargo, talk to your vet first, Keller said.

“Or we travel a lot with animals, so people are always welcome to reach out to us,” Karev said. “There are quite a few travel tips on our website at Answers@spcai.org.”

Erica Kirk says he’s forgiven the shooter who killed Charlie Kirk

0

play

Tens of thousands of people went silent in honor of prominent conservative activist Charlie Kirk, and his widow gave emotional tributes for his murdered husband and received a standing ovation when he forgives the man accused of killing him.

“It’s what Christ did and I’ll forgive him because it’s what Charlie does,” Erica Kirk, 36, told Glendale, a mourner crowd on September 21. “The answer to hatred is not hatred.

Erica Kirk occasionally choking and tapping her eyes with a handkerchief, arrived at Utah Hospital on the day of her husband’s death, recalling “unthinkable” and “seeing her husband’s murdered body in person.” She was shaken up and felt “the level of heartache that I didn’t even know that I existed.”

The memorial, hosted by Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA organization, took place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. He attended a service before dawn, listened to conservative leaders, and heard his loved ones, and reminded me of the 31-year-old who was assassinated while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

Supporters praised Charlie Kirk, a close ally of the Trump administration, for his religious beliefs, and vowed to continue his legacy.

“Even after I died, I could see the man I love.”

Erica Kirk detailed her husband’s final moments, describing his death as “very instantaneous” and explaining that she felt “no fear or suffering.”

“There was something else,” she added. “Even though I was dead, I could see the man I love.”

Erica Kirk said she detected a “slight smile” on her husband’s lips. “In this tragedy I revealed to me a great mercy from God,” she said, knowing that he was not suffering, wearing a white jacket and a diamond cross.

She said her husband wrote a love note to her every Saturday and called it “our little secret” to keep her married. He finished the note by saying, “How can I serve you better as a husband?” Erica Kirk said.

“I know my marriage to Charlie was the best thing that ever happened to me and the best thing that happened to him,” Erica Kirk said. “He wanted everyone to experience that joy.”

She said her husband is passionate about helping young men who feel lost and have no direction.

“My husband, really, he wanted to save a young man, just like the one who took his life,” Kirk said.

Erika Kirk has been appointed CEO of Turning Point USA

Erica Kirk also said during the additional service ceremony that her husband “dead of incomplete work, but not an unfinished business.” She called on men to follow her husband’s example, saying, “I accept Charlie’s challenge and accept true masculinity.”

“Be a leader worth following,” she said. “Your wife is not your servant. Your wife is not your employee. Your wife is not your slave. She is your helper. You are not your rival. You are one flesh and you work together for the glory of God.”

A few days after Charlie Kirk was fatally shot, Erica Kirk promised in her speech that she would continue her husband’s job. She said in her first public release since her husband was killed, “This widow’s cry echoes all over the world like a scream of battle.”

“The evil ones for the assassination of my husband don’t know what they did,” she said at her address.

Jordan Davis and Jalen get hurt

0

play

  • The Eagles came to life in the second half, opening off an offense, earning 26 unanswered points.
  • Jordan Davis blocked and returned a winning field goal in a 61-yard game over time.
  • Rams coach Sean McVay is 1-6 against the Eagles, including the playoffs.

Between the dazzling revenge factors and the only matchup in week three between the two undefeated teams, Sunday’s meeting with the Los Angeles Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles had almost every trap in the feature game, except for the actual broadcast spotlight.

Despite the importance of the defending champions who score bases in the Division’s playoff round and host teams rolled in the regular season, the 2025 showdown was relegated to a time slot at 1pm on the slate in early September. But regardless. The game, which was not a reprise of any of the results of last season, provided a lot of fresh entertainment. The Eagles scored 26 surprising unanswered points in the second half, with Jordan Davis closing out and returning the game-winning field goal back to 61 yards. And there have been a lot of fallout that could prove meaningful for the fall and beyond for the two teams that they think will be number again when forming NFC playoff photos.

The biggest winners and losers from Sunday’s showdown between the two NFC powers are:

Rams vs Eagles winner

Jordan Davis

His weight and limited statistical influence made him subject to frequent and almost unfair scrutiny early in his career. However, the No. 13 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft provided a signature performance that had little defensive tackles engraved. Combine standout, Davis was always physically anomaly at 6-6 pounds and 336 pounds. However, according to the next Gen Stats, he was recorded fastest since 2017 by over 330 pound players when he hit a top speed of 18.59 mph when he returned. And his contributions were isolated to that one play as he had a bag, a fourth run stop and five tackles.

Jalen hurts

Was this the wake-up call needed for Philadelphia to carry out a dormant passing attack? Pushed into holes 26-7 early in the third quarter, the Eagles finally opened up and flourished. After being held without a touchdown in the first two weeks, Hurts scored Los Angeles on 3-point strikes on 21 of 32 passes. Lane Johnson’s exit was a major retreat due to a neck injury, so it took some time for the attack to find its footing. But things looked up as Fred Johnson went down with a right tackle to replace the struggling Matt Pryor. Philadelphia may behave this way, as determined by certain circumstances, but it was certainly encouraging to see a facet that was not previously possible eventually come to fruition.

AJ Brown

This performance requires some catharsis for Brown’s performance, with six catches for 109 yards and a touchdown. In getting tough yards after the catch, the Eagles receiver took advantage of a much more conservative approach to make the most of an opportunity that had not appeared consistently in the two previous games. He was upset when the pass interference was not called due to the imperfection of the third goal, but teammate Devonta Smith completed his comeback with his own four-yard scoring grab to put Philadelphia forever.

Tush Push

Last week, the NFL appears to have notified the Eagles about the polarised signature drama by instructing civil servants to move forward with “tight.” However, Philadelphia was unflinching and advanced with two moves in the first quarter, giving him a first down and a subsequent touchdown. Despite the obvious early moves of right guard Tyler Steen every time, authorities did not throw a flag at either rush. The Eagles’ long match of greater offensive misery made the play unrelated to the long stretches, but the play and the controversy that follows are still reliable.

Jared Poem

In the City of Brotherly Love, the NFL defensive player of the year was already the Persona Nongrata of the City of Brotherly Love after declaring he hated Eagles fans ahead of last season’s playoff game. His position certainly did not improve after Sunday. On one play after Jalen, the poetry strip sack, the Rams scored cash on a touchdown from Matthew Stafford to Kylen Williams, extending the lead to 26-7. Verse finished with six tackles and two tackles.

Rams vs Eagles loser

Rams Attack

A very promising start never came close enough to beat a realistic champion. Despite missing Philadelphia (356-288 yards), Los Angeles seemed empty when it was most counted, and after three thirds on the third down, they settled on field goal attempts repeatedly. The rushing offense, which earned 115 yards in the first half with a variety of looks, failed to roll things around. The Rams added just 45 yards to the ground after halftime. Meanwhile, the passing attack didn’t do much damage again against the Philadelphia secondary after Matthew Stafford fired a 44-yard touchdown bomb at Davante Adams in the first quarter. This is where discussions about missed opportunities have to begin.

Rams secondary

Los Angeles coasted the first two games, struggling to pass the offense. When Philadelphia got offensive, the Rams’ defense backend wilted stretches. Sunday reminded me that this could be a unit that lives or dies in a pass rush. The answer to the injured Ahkello Witherspoon may finally come up, but for now there is nothing.

Joshua Curty

Carti set the tone early for Los Angeles’ success with a knuckleball kickoff that repeatedly plagued the Eagles. But two blocked kicks in the fourth quarter are the inevitable revenue of his game. Unlike other kickers who struggled early on, Karty doesn’t have to worry about job safety. Still, there are a lot of “what ifs”.

Saquon Berkley

It has been revealed that the 2024 NFL offensive player of the year hasn’t been heading for another 200 yard day since covering that mark with each outing against Los Angeles last year. While the Rams’ defensive focus and game balance leaned early, Berkley scored just 46 yards on 18 carries. However, he avoided the initial down with a critical third-and-3 in the red zone, which led to a major highlight in the waning minutes. He played a key role in handling the blitz pickup, but his contributions as a pass catcher (four receptions for 9 yards) were also muted.

Shawn McVay

During his victory over the Tennessee Titan last week, he tears the plantar fascia with his left foot. However, this result certainly becomes clever in a different way. McVay took part in 1-5 (including the playoffs) against the Eagles for his career. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio occupies a rare space as one of the few who have consistently thwarted the Rams’ offense at various stops. Despite how promising things could be seen early on, McVay couldn’t summon the answer before everything fell crashed again. Maybe that would beat Berkley’s trampling, but the outcome is definitely calm given the Eagles are coming back to potential NFC playoff photos again.

Another dolphin dies in the troubled Miami Sicorium

Bimini, a 26-year-old dolphin, was to be confiscated along with three other animals in January 2024, but never confiscated. They then died in Miami Sheerium.

play

  • Another dolphin named Bimini died in the Miami Sheerium, who fought amid ongoing controversy.
  • The dolphin was one of four animals the USDA marked for confiscation for alleged violations of the Animal Welfare Act.
  • The testing report said Seaquarium was unable to provide adequate veterinary care and had a collapsed infrastructure.
  • The park’s parent company is facing an eviction battle with Miami-Dade County and has filed for bankruptcy protection.

Another dolphin died in the Miami Seaquarium, at the heart of ongoing controversy due to a battle of animal safety violations and “suffering”, testing violations, bankruptcy and eviction.

Owned by an MS leisure company run by a subsidiary run by Dolphin Company, Seaquarium has been the subject of criticism and regular protest, with activist groups including People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) calling for the closure for more than a decade. On September 16, Miami-Dade County was notified that Bimini, a 26-year-old Atlantic Bottlenorth Dolphin, had died from chronic health issues.

“The loss of Bimini is deeply felt across all Miami Seaquarium and across the community,” Stephen Strom, director of independence at MS Leisure Company, said in a news release. “It’s heart that our entire Miami Sicorium team remembers the lasting legacy of Bimini.”

In a notice sent on January 19, 2024, Bimini accused Ms Leisure of failing to comply with the Animal Welfare Act, one of four animals marked for confiscation by the USDA.

“We have been informed that this forfeiture is the first time that USDA has taken such measures with marine mammals in 30 years,” Miami-Dade Mayor Daniela Levine Cava said in a letter to the president of Eduardo Alber on January 21, 2024. “This emphasizes the gravity of the situation and cannot be underestimated.”

However, the confiscation was not completed, and two of the four animals on the list died.

USA Today has contacted Cava’s office, USDA/APHIS and Dolphin Company, but has not received a response.

Evictions, bankruptcy, animal deaths are plagued by marine parks

Animal advocate and former SeaWorld trainer Valerie Green said at least 11 known marine mammals had died from the Seaquarium. “If Bimini had been confiscated last year, she would probably still be alive,” Green said.

Sequarium received an eviction notice from Miami-Dade County in January 2024 and requested that the property be vacated by April 21, 2024. Leisure investments violated the lease by inadequately maintaining animal care and inadequately maintaining the basis for ocean volume, according to city officials. However, the judge later denied the November 2024 claim for immediate eviction after the Servant refused the vacancy, saying there was evidence to prove that the demand letter claim was false.

Dolphin Company later applied for Chapter 11 protection on March 31st.

Seaquarium said in a news release issued September 17 that Bimini had passed away “under the careful care of Miami Seaquarium experts,” but USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Testing Service (APHIS) testing documents show that Bimini’s proper veterinary care was repeatedly delayed or denied prior to her death.

“I’m sure Bimini was miserable until her death,” Green said. Greene was well versed in Bimini’s treatment through her work with Tidebreakers, an animal welfare group that seeks to end captivity and improve laws and conditions for protected marine animals. “She was chronically ill and suffered for a long time. Seaquarium says she is chronically ill and they did their best, but she is now dead, so what kind of care was she receiving?”

Bear visitors are heartbroken by sharing the passing of Bimini, which inspired visitors about marine life and conservation.

Dolphins endured “pain and suffering” according to USDA tests

According to the October 2023 USDA inspection report, Affith’s Veterinary Medical Officer discovered that Bimini was found with a broken metal bolt in his mouth. According to the same records, another dolphin stored at the facility was found in foreign objects in the throat, such as “two-inch claws, mangrove pods and small shell pieces.”

“Enclosures that are not properly repaired can produce foreign bodies that can be ingested and harmful to the animal,” the testing memo says.

Similarly, records reviewed by the Affith showed that many times the veterinarians at the facility “decided that a particular action was necessary, but the facility did not follow these actions, failed to schedule surgery and procedures, and failed to provide basic equipment to veterinary staff, anesthesia machine for emergencies.

According to the USDA inspection report in January 2024, Bimini’s condition did not improve in the following months. Bimini experienced “pain and suffering,” the document said as multiple broken ribs were broken during various healing stages resulting from attacks from other dolphins where she was housed. These fractures were observed on a February 2023 CT scan.

The dolphin company said the injury was diagnosed in 2021 and occurred “before ownership of the Miami Seaquarium Mashua,” which began in March 2022.

But Bimini’s poor treatment was consistent among owners, Wallace told USA Today.

“Bimini was one of my personal and professional turning points for me when I was hired at Miami Sicorium in 2021,” she said. “In spite of obvious defects in her chest, after reviewing ultrasound images of the fractured ribs and liquid around Bimini’s heart on the radiograph, staff refused to believe or admit her condition.”

Bimini’s history was extensive and included persistent and serious lung (lung) disease. Tracheal stenosis or inflammation or scar tissue that narrows the airway. Moderate to severe diffuse lung disease, or lung disease that causes scarring of lung tissue. Severe bronchiectasis; kidney stones and fluid swelling in the uterus.

As a result, Bimini showed difficulty breathing, which affected her quality of life, according to an affiliate veterinary medical officer who was undergoing the examination. The trainer told the inspector that Bimini was instructed to perform a limited number of stunts, but medical personnel observed breathing difficulties even when the dolphins had “approved” actions.

Veterinarians had prescribed imaging and testing in September 2023 to further address these concerns, but “due to a lack of veterinary staff, equipment and experts (CT imaging and anesthesia), no one was completed with the January 2024 examination.

“Bottle North Dolphins in the Atlantic with respiratory abnormalities often experience a rapid decline in health that can lead to pneumonia and death,” the report states. “They will need immediate veterinarian attention using appropriate diagnostic equipment to provide appropriate veterinary care and reduce suffering.”

Other aquatic mammals tested during the same examination are known to be “unwell” and have serious weights with visible spines, ribs and shoulder blades. Both tests highlighted the environmental issues in which the animals were housed, the dark water, and pointed out the collapsed infrastructure, the “strong harmful smell” and housing structures that remained unstable despite previous USDA instructions.

“There are several animals that are deemed important by (veterinarians) who need medical treatment, diagnostic evaluations, and medical procedures that are not provided to alleviate suffering,” the USDA report in January said.

Previous reports dating back to 2021 show that the collapsed structure has been discovered in concrete-like fragments of the stomach, showing multiple cases of animals. Multiple structures, including dolphin area decks, were criticized between 2021 and 2025.

“We’re screaming from the rooftop,” the activist says.

These and other conditions have been extensively documented, attracting the attention of authorities, including Miami-Dade, the USDA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee (FWC). However, despite promises to confiscate, close and improve conditions, the animals are still suffering, she said.

Reflecting his emotions, Wallace said that the treatment of poor animals has been too long in sea figures.

“This is one of the most tragic failures in animal welfare and federal surveillance. We hope that the Florida FWC and DOJ will help correct these mistakes that the USDA has failed to act,” she said.

NOOA sent USA Today back to Affith when asked for comment. USA Today contacted the FWC but did not receive a response.

“We are screaming from the rooftops that animals are being abused, to the county, to the federal agencies, but nothing happens,” Green said. “Even if a dolphin company bankruptcy and criminal investigation is insufficient to confiscate these animals and take them to a safe place. How many animals need to die before they are closed in the Miami sea?”

Jimmy Kimmel is supported by Disney’s Starsmark Ruffalo and Pedro Pascal

Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension continues to draw rage across the entertainment industry, with several major Disney stars standing up for comedians.

Mark Ruffalo, who stars as Hulk in Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, said in a post about the September 20th thread that cancelling Kimmel’s show permanently would cause the company’s shares to “down even more.”

“Disney doesn’t want to be something that destroyed America,” Ruffalo wrote.

Disney-owned ABC said, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” On September 17, after facing pressure from the Federal Communications Commission over the comedian’s comments, the “Magagang” was “deeply trying to characterize this child who murdered Charlie Kirk as something other than them.”

Kirk, co-founder of conservative organization Turning Point USA, was shot dead at an event held at Utah Valley University on September 10th. The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was charged with his murder.

According to court documents released after Kimmel’s monologue, Robinson’s mother told police that her son “begins to tilt left – he began to turn more gay and right-oriented.” Federal Communications Commission president Brendan Kerr claimed Kimmel misled viewers about Robinson’s politics.

“Fantastic Four: First Step” lead Pedro Pascal defended Kimmel in 2026, starring in two major Disney films (The Mandalorian and Grog) and Marvel’s “Avengers: Dooms Day.” In an Instagram post on September 18th, Pascal said he wrote that he was standing with the comedian, defending #FreeSpeech Defend #Democracy.”

In an Instagram story that has since been released, Tatiana Maslany, who appeared in the Disney+ Marvel series Sheharuk: Lawyer, encouraged her followers to “cancel” their Disney+ subscription on Kimmel’s suspension.

Damon Lindelof, one of the creators of the ABC series “Lost,” said on Instagram that he will not work with Disney again unless Kimmel’s suspension is released.

“I was shocked, saddened and angry at yesterday’s suspension and look forward to being lifted soon,” he wrote on September 18th.

In her September 20 Instagram Story, Olivia Rodrigo, who presented “Bizaardvark” and “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” at Disney, expressed her support for Kimmel, saying she was “very upset by this blatant censorship and abuse of power.”

The Grammy Award-winning singer released her 2022 documentary, Driving Home 2 U, on Disney+, adding, “I stand with Jimmy Kimmel and I represent freedom of speech.”

In a deadline column, Dangill Roy, who won Emmy for writing for the Disney+ “Star Wars” series “Andre,” said there are similarities between the show’s portrayal of the “fascist takeover” and the depiction of recent events.

“Donald Trump’s governance, coercion and intimidation tools focus on Hollywood,” wrote Gilroy. “Social media firestorm, fear, FCC’s heads are being threatened with “they can do this in an easy or difficult way.”

He said, “I am deeply opposed, but I accept that it is a difficult decision. If you believe that is not, wait until fate demands you knock on your door and choose between conscience and hardship – because if you are working in this industry, that day is coming.”

Jay Reno and Conan O’Brien support Jimmy Kimmel in suspension

Other stars who focused on Kimmel’s suspension include former night hosts Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien.

While talking to reporters at Chris Wallace’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony, Leno said he was “by Jimmy Kimmel’s side,” and “it’s true that it’s usually cancelled.”

Meanwhile, O’Brien said in X that Kimmel’s suspension and “the promise to silence other late-night hosts to criticize the administration should disrupt everyone on the right, left and center. It’s wrong, and those of conscience know that it’s wrong.”

Former night host David Letterman previously denounced Kimmel’s suspension at the Atlantic Festival and slammed ABC for a “silly” decision.

“You can’t fire someone because you’re afraid or you’re trying to suck into authoritarian criminal administration in an oval office,” he said. “That’s not how this works.”

President Donald Trump returned to the social post of truth and called Letterman “a very overrated” and “loser.”

Trump will be appearing at the Charlie Kirk Memorial. See photos and videos.

Thousands of people have descended on the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The memorial on September 21 is scheduled to feature speeches from President Donald Trump, senior management officials and other conservative figures.

Kirk was assassinated on September 10th at the Turning Point USA event on the Utah Valley University campus in Orem, Utah.

Kirk was a close political ally of Trump and became a fixture and keynote speaker in many turning point action events.

Trump celebrated the victory at a political rally at Turning Point in December 2024, a month after winning the presidential election.

Trump told reporters that Kirk’s service on Sunday would be a “very tough day” when he boarded the plane on his way to Glendale, Arizona.

Turning Point USA, advocating conservative politics on high school and college campuses, invited “Sunday Vests,” particularly “Sunday Vests,” in red, white or blue, for Kirk’s additional service ceremony at the state’s farm stadium.

The monument comes after more than a week of respect and fallout, including dozens of people fired or suspended over comments about their conservative personality.

Let’s take a look at the Charlie Kirk Memorial.

Trump’s approval investigation, see where the president stands in crime, immigration

play

According to a recent referendum, the majority of Americans have disapproved of President Donald Trump’s job performance and have been unfavourable about some of his signature policies.

A four-day Washington Post IPSOS poll released on September 18th revealed that the president’s approval rating was 43%, with 56% disapproving. This figure is a slight increase in his overall rating compared to the voter’s final poll in April, with a near-historical low approval of 39% and similar disapprovals of 55%.

The results are closer to the New York Times’ latest poll average. This led to Trump being approved by 43% and 54% as of September 21. Actual polling averages for Correapolitix were 46% and 52% disapproval as of September 21, with an average of 46% and 52% disapproval.

Post’s poll also found that many Americans are unhappy with the president’s handling of some of the biggest issues facing the country, including the economy, immigration, tariffs, crime, the Russian-Ukraine and the Israeli-Hamas war.

The survey was conducted between 2,513 US adults with a margin of ±2 percentage points of error between September 11 and 15.

Trump’s immigration, tariffs and foreign wars are unpopular

Crime was ranked as Trump’s best issue in the poll. Still, 54% of Americans approved the handling of crime in his country, and 44% approved it.

As with the past few months of problem-specific investigations, tariffs and economy won Trump and his lowest number of confirmed approvals. Regarding government tariffs on imported goods, 34% have approved the measure, while 64% have said they have disapproved. In the economy, the survey found 40% of the president’s overall approval of actions, while 59% disapproved.

This is trembling with the disapproval of a majority of 55% compared to the 44% approval rate for his immigration policy.

The Russian Ukraine and Israeli Hamas wars – opinions on handling two of the most important foreign policy crises – hit a low benchmark as well as the majority’s disapproval. Regarding Israel and Hamas, polls found 39% approval and 58% disapproval. 38% of the president’s job on the Russian-Ukraine war were approved, while 60% were disapproved.

Beyond certain actions, polls show that 62% of Americans believe Trump is beyond his authority as president, while 36% believe he acted properly. In April, that same question won a slightly positive split, with 60% saying he had stepped over his authority, and 30% saying he didn’t.

Trump’s National Guard use remains unpopular

A post-IPSOS poll in Washington said 37% approved Trump’s August deployment of National Guard troops to Washington and a temporary acquisition of the city’s police department. The move that Trump claimed was in response to crime rates received a 47% disapproval rate.

On September 15, the president announced that he was deploying National Guard in Memphis, Tennessee, and discussed the deployment of troops to other cities, including Chicago and New Orleans. The polls found opinions on the expansion of the administration’s military deployment to combat crime. 42% supported the idea, and 46% opposed it.

But Americans say they trust Republicans more than Democrats for crime by a 2-1 margin, according to a survey that leads 44% against 22% of Democrats. Another 33% said that neither party believed the issue.

Bill Maher is heavier on Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC suspension

0

play

Knowing one or two things about being pulled away from the air in ABC, Bill Maher stands by Jimmy Kimmel.

On a September 19 episode of his HBO show “Real Time,” the comedian defended “my friend” Kimmel after ABC stopped “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”. The hosts commented on Charlie Kirk’s fatal shooting.

Maher relates Kimmel’s suspension to his own experience of having an ABC show “Political Record.” The airing continued after Maha’s “politically wrong” remarks, and ABC defended the show as “a forum for expressing diverse opinions in our country,” but was cancelled in 2002 at the end of the television season.

“It was 24 years since I commented on ABC that was cancelled from that network. Jimmy Kimmel took my slot,” Maher said, describing this as a “strange” coincidence.

“Ah, yes, it was cancelled before the cancellation had a culture.”

The comedian added that the situation is “new,” and that “ABC won’t always be a cave.”

Maher continued, “Jimmy, I’m with you, I support you, and on the bright side, you don’t have to pretend to like Disneyland anymore.”

Kimmel’s pause comes after the “Magagang” said on his show that he “deeply tries to characterize this child who is “doing everything he can to kill Charlie Kirk as something other than one person and score political points from there.”

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Kerr claimed Kimmel misunderstood the audience by implying that Kirk’s murderer Tyler Robinson is a great and once again supporter of the movement. The comic’s late-night show was suspended on September 17th as it appeared that Kerr publicly threatened to take action against Kimmel.

Speaking about “real-time,” Maher said he supports Kimmel despite his opposition to his comments. Maher argued that attempting to classify the suspected murderer as part of a political “team” was “a fool’s business.”

“Look, I don’t think what he said is exactly right,” Maher said. “I won’t. We don’t agree with it. He shouldn’t lose his job because of it.”

The comedian added, “You’re wrong, or you have the right to have the opinion you want. That’s all about the first revision.”

Kimmel has not been fired from ABC, but Maher has sent a message to the comedian in case his show is not brought home.

“Jimmy, just let me tell you, you’ve done a great, funny show over the course of 20 years,” he said. “You should be proud of it. If this firing goes for me for you, for you, you will get 23 years with a better network.”

Within his suspension, all major late-night hosts gathered around Kimmel. “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert denounced the ABC move as “blatant censorship,” while “late night” host Seth Meyers said “all have to stand up to the principles of free expression.”

“The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon praised Kimmel as “a decent, funny and loving man,” adding, “I hope he comes back.”

Car-loving couple competes for the Corvette Hall of Fame. What’s in?

play

  • The couple owns 12 Corvettes, including the rare 2009 GT1 Championship Coupe.
  • Charley Robertson runs the Corvette Racing fan page on Facebook with 62,000 followers.

Charlie Robertson remembers exactly where she was when she fell in love with the Corvette.

She was standing outside a forest science building at Texas A&M University in the mid-1970s. She was on her way to class when a loud noise caught her ear. She closed her eyes to listen.

“The engine noise thrilled me,” Robertson told Detroit Free Press, part of the USA Today Network. “But because we’re in the forestry industry we had no choice but to buy trucks and use them in our business.”

However, the seeds were planted. In 1988, Robertson’s husband, Jim Robertson, purchased a 1974 Corvette Coupe from a neighbor who had a car under a tarp in her backyard. The cockroaches were then poured out when he opened the door.

“But it’s going to be done,” Jim Robertson said.

He did most of the restoration work, but they took the car to a local paint shop and finished the job. After the vehicle was finished and the couple returned home on the streets of a small town in Florida, they watched their heads chase the car down the street.

“When we got home, I looked to the gym and said, ‘This is now my Carley Robertson said.

The two were the first to jump into Corvette culture, joining the local club, Circle City Corvette, and in 1998 became a member of the National Corvette Museum, taking part in every race within the driving distance of their home. Decades of these efforts are why Robertson is one of the 2025 enrollments of the Corvette Hall of Fame in the enthusiast category.

“Their generosity and dedication have transformed thousands of audiences into brands of mission and lifelong champions of champions,” the museum said in a statement. Founded in 1998, the Corvette Hall of Fame has since 1981 at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, across the street where General Motors assembled all of the Corvettes, honoring 92 inductees since being awarded 92 inductees.

Love and car

Robertsons, both retired Foresters, met at work at a paper company.

“We had the same boss,” Jim Robertson said. “One day I called my office and she answered the phone in place of my secretary, and I invited her to a John Denver concert.”

Since then, the two have been together and spend most of their free time on mutual hobbies.

After repairing the first Corvette, he determined that she was driving every day to reduce the investment value of the vehicle, so they sold it. As soon as the car drove down the driveway, Charlie Robertson looked at each other and said, “We made a serious mistake.”

Their next 1990 Corvette was discovered in Atlanta, about four and a half hours away from where they live in the Florida Panhandle.

“They kept us there all day. Upon getting home, I started to feel a terrible headache and pulled to the side of the road. Jim said, ‘Why don’t you drive a Corvette, and do I take a Firebird?” Charlie Robertson said, “I’m going to say it. “I knew I’d found my car forever.”

Since then, the couple has owned 12 Corvettes. Now they own three – the 2009 GT1 Championship Coupe with manual transmission, the 2018 C7 Grand Sport, the 2022 C8 STINGRAY -, one 2019 Chevrolet Silverado SLT.

The life of a lover

Keeping everything up to date with the Corvette will keep couples busy retired. Charlie Robertson is collaborating on Facebook’s Corvette Racing fan page with 62,000 followers. Jim Robertson explains that he tends to take the backseat in his wife’s efforts and is often a man who drives himself to events, but she insists they are a team.

“Without Jim, there wouldn’t be Charlie,” she said.

As for how Corvette maintains its legacy, Charley Robertson said it’s crucial to show up to fans and enthusiasts. When decision makers attending the event heard from real customers about the engine’s performance and coloring options to return to Detroit, she said it would have the best results.

One of the main attractions to the Robertsons’ Corvette is the community itself, with Charlie Robertson warning new owners against buying new owners in the hopes of staying under the radar.

“Young buyers feel the Corvette as a status symbol compared to their entry point into the community and full social circles. If a young buyer starts to engage with the community, they’ll say, ‘Oh, grace, this is so much fun.’ It meets new people through the car,” she said. “Leaving people in the community means they want them to stay in the Corvette.”

The bonds between those communities run deep. Greg Pretman, the group’s Corvette owner and home builder, drove for two hours after Hurricane Michael landed and damaged his property in 2018.

Luckily, Robertson’s Corvette was undamaged, but the couple lost strength and water for several days. One tree fell, branches slashing through the roof and stopped just above the bed.

Daytona’s Rolex 24, Mobile 1 12 Hours Sebring, or the petite Raman, when not attending, or watching from home on one of Charlie’s many monitors, two museums and two run auctions supporting local charities. Charlie Robertson also runs a gift shop at their church.

The couple also cultivated a deep relationship with automaker leaders, including Harlan Charles, former product marketing manager at Corvette, who attended the lead ceremony on August 29th.

Despite their reputation, the Robertsons described the Hall of Fame as “humble.”

“There’s nothing special about Jim and me. We don’t see ourselves as a celebrity,” said Charlie Robertson. “We happened to embrace our hobbies, our family and gave us everything we could and we are lucky to be recognized.”

Tropical Storm Gabriel poses a “life-threatening” risk. See Tracker.

0

play

Tropical Storm Gabriel is expected to be reinforced by a hurricane as it moves north through the Atlantic Ocean on Sunday evening, September 21st.

The National Hurricane Centre said the storm was about 455 miles from Bermuda’s coast on Sunday morning. Currently, the storm is moving northwest at 9 mph with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph.

Forecasters predict that Gabriel will be able to bolster a Category 2 hurricane with 100 mph sustained winds in the next 12 hours. The NHC is expected to pass east of Bermuda by Monday, September 22nd with its 5am update.

The clock or warning is not valid. The chances of hitting Bermuda have declined, but dangerous winds and rain are still possible in the area. The NHC warned that residents of a small mid-Atlantic island should be ready to respond.

Swells from the storm are beginning to crash into Bermuda and are expected to continue construction over the weekend. The Hurricane Center said they are likely to bring about life-threatening surfing and rifts.

The east coastal provinces heading from North Carolina and north to the Canadian Atlantic coast are expected to swell along the beaches that continue from the end of Sunday to the early week. The NHC said rough surf and RIP flows could cause life-threatening conditions.

Gabriel is the seventh-name storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season and the first tropical storm since the tropical storm Fernando, formed on August 23rd. If it turns into a hurricane, it becomes the second Atlantic hurricane of the season.

The storm began to form about a week later with what is considered the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season. Previous forecasters have described 2025 as a quiet hurricane year.

The National Hurricane Center monitors several other developing storms in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The central tropical Atlantic system, southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, could develop into tropical depression as it moves northwest across the Atlantic over the next few days.

In the Pacific Ocean, tropical depression is expected to form hundreds of miles off Mexico’s southern coast. Forecasters expect it to move northwest along the country’s coast, bringing heavy rains through Monday.

Trump puts Bondi on investigations of James, Comey and Schiff

0

play

President Donald Trump appeared to be publicly putting pressure on the Attorney General to take legal action against some of his political enemies in a series of social media posts on Saturday, September 21.

“We can’t delay it anymore. It kills our reputation and credibility,” Trump said in a post about True Social Society addressed to Attorney General Pam Bondy. “Justice must be provided, now!!!”

The president has appointed former FBI director James Comey, Democrat Sen. Adam Schiff, and New York State Attorney General Letitia James for the post. He reviewed dozens of statements about current and former officials, saying “nothing has been done” about them.

Comey, Schiff and James have all been the subject of intense rage from the president for many years, dating back to his first term.

Comey led an investigation into alleged charges between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia. The president fired Comey in May 2017. One of Trump’s most vocal critics, Schiff led the first blunder each effort against the president on communications with Ukrainian President Voldimee Zelensky.

James is suing the Trump administration for cuts to the Department of Health and Human Services and the Enforcement Bureau on elections that she says are unconstitutional. She secured a $5 billion civil fraud ruling against Trump last year, but the penalty was later dumped by the appeals court.

James and Schiff are subject to a DOJ mortgage fraud investigation. Both denied fraud and called for inquiries that were personal or politically motivated.

On September 20th, Trump also announced that he was nominating Senior White House aide Lindsay Harrigan to take over as US lawyer for the Eastern District of Virginia.

He will replace Eric Shebert, a lawyer who oversaw the investigation into criminal mortgage fraud against James before leaving the Post on September 19, according to the New York Times, Washington Post and other outlets.

“He didn’t stop, I fired him!” Trump added that of Sheebert on the true society, he had drawn his name to “unusually strong support” from the state’s Democrat senator.

Sheebert reportedly notified the Department of Justice that there was insufficient evidence to pursue the charges against James, and he also raised concerns about another lawsuit against Comey.

Siebert’s Office was also involved in the criminal investigation of a former FBI director in connection with the agency’s Russian election interference probe.

On September 21, Trump once again spoke to his Attorney General, repeating Harrigan’s praise, saying that she would provide “deeply necessary” justice to everyone.

“Pam Bondy does an incredible job as U.S. Attorney General,” Trump said. “She is very careful, very smart and loves our country, but like my recommendation, Lindsay Harrigan, it’s necessary for a strict prosecutor in the Eastern District of Virginia to get things going.”

The UK recognizes the Palestinian state. It’s Starme who is in conflict with Trump

0

play

LONDON – On Sunday, September 21, the UK, Canada and Australia officially recognized the Palestinian state and announced the policies of President Donald Trump’s nationals line up on the massive international stage.

The UK announcement was expected after the summer said it would vote in favor of being recognized at its annual general meeting in New York, which begins Monday, September 22, in New York, unless Israel agrees to a suspension with Hamas in Gaza. That’s not happening.

The move aims to pressure Israel to change Gaza policies. Israel says that perception “rewards fear.”

“Today, the UK, a two-state solution to revive hopes of peace between the Palestinians and Israelis, and to revive the hopes of peace, is officially aware of the Palestinian state,” Starmer said in X.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese issued a statement officially recognizing “Palestine independence and sovereign states,” calling it “part of a coordinated international effort to build new momentum for the two-state solutions, starting with the release of hostages filmed in the atrocities and atrocities on October 7, 2023.”

“Canada is not under the illusion that this perception is a panacea, but this perception is firmly in line with the principles of self-determination and fundamental human rights reflected in the UN Charter.”

Trump opposed Gaza’s perception of the Palestinian state during his visit to Scotland in July, saying, “We’re trying to feed people right now. That’s number one because there are so many people who are starving.” When he was in the UK in August on his vacation, Vice President JD Vance said:

The issue of Palestine perceptions was not meaningfully introduced during Trump’s state visit to the state last week. When it came to the press conference, Trump said it was one of the “small differences” he was blessed with, but he didn’t push the issue onto him. The UK’s pledge of recognition is because French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Arabia intend to convene a meeting at the UN on the topic on Monday.

The Palestinian state is recognized by 147 of the 193 member states of the United Nations. Palestinian territory covers the Israeli-occupied Jordan River, including East Jerusalem, which Palestinians consider to be their capital and Gaza. In July, France became the first G7 nation to pledge to recognize the Palestinian state.

“The urgent need today is the end of the war in Gaza and the rescue of civilians,” Macron said at the time. “Peace is possible. We need an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and massive humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.”

Rowan Nicholson, an international law scholar at Flinders University in Australia, said four criteria are usually required to qualify as a nation. It is a permanent population, defined territory, government, and independence. Nicholson said the state’s conditions are rather strict and are a matter of debate.

Successive American regimes believe that formal recognition of the Palestinian state should come only through direct negotiations between the parties involved, through Israelis and Palestinians.
