What we love and what we need work

There was the first drive Kia’s new EV4 electric sedanand we have a lot to say – but is our thought important? As an entry-level electric vehicle, the success or failure of an EV4 can depend on the price. Unfortunately, I don’t know what the price of the 2026 Kia EV4 is. I also suspect that Kia is not the case, due to tariffs and tax incentives on EVs. We drove a new EV4 in Korea. It is already on sale there at a base price of $42.6 million (approximately $31,000).

Good, bad, and… ugly?

2026 When it comes to the Kia EV4, we have two minds. We love the way it drives, but the packaging and styling leaves something that is desired. Mom has taught us that the best way to hear your criticism is to start with compliments, so before we tell you where the EV4 is wrong, we lead the good thing.

As an entry-level electric vehicle, the EV4’s powertrain is modest, with a single 201 hp motor driving the front wheels. The dual motor version will eventually join the lineup, but Kia hasn’t said when. KIA estimates that the front-drive EV4 will reach 60 mph in about 7.5 seconds.

But the single motor, which is electric, offers a torque punch of 209 lb-ft the moment you call it. And punch it. No hesitation or wait for a downshift. You just point and the EV4 will shoot. A significant portion of our drive was in traffic on the Seoul highway and we ran for money during the spectacular rush hour in Los Angeles. The good news is that the EV4 has proven that they are willing to dart in any gaps we wanted to call ourselves. This is why we are so obsessed with EVs. We like quick cars and slow EVs are fast too.

The EV4 is extremely refined thanks to its comfortable ride and quiet attitude. Kia did not skip important insulation in electric vehicles that don’t have an engine notebook to hide roads and wind noise. The EV4 is praiseworthy quiet. That’s a bit of a brain. Usually, this level of refinement is not associated with an entry-level vehicle.

Curves and ranges

Kia had us headed over to the hill above Seoul and enjoyed some fantastic curvy roads. Still, opening up the gap and taking advantage of some mandatory highway Cloverleafs gave me a basic feel to the EV4’s attitude. If the steering is a little heavy (better than too light), you can’t combine a lack of grip with a complimentary lack of body roll. Here we’ll see how the EV4 does when testing at home, but given my experience with other cars based on the Hyundai/KIA E-GMP platform, I expect the numbers to be good.

The EV4 features two PowerPack options, either a 58.3 or 81.4-kWH battery. The former is expected to offer a 235-mile EPA rated range, while the latter will be an impressive 330-mile. To keep the cost of the EV4 down, the car uses a 400 volt architecture in place of the 800 volt system of other E-GMP vehicles. This means that the speed is long. A small battery takes 10-80% in 29 minutes, and a large battery takes 31 minutes. It’s slower 800 Volt Kia like the EV6performs the act within 18 minutes, but is comparable to most of the low-cost electric vehicles currently on the market. Plug it into a 240 volt home charger and 10-100% should take 5 hours with a small battery and 7 hours with a Big One.

Peter Schleier, call your office

This is what I didn’t like about the 2026 Kia EV4. First, there is a strange styling. Certainly, beauty is in the eyes of the viewer, so you may disagree, but Kia believes that the unusual look attracts younger buyers. However, for us, the styling of the EV4 is not uncommon. The EV4 reminds us of OH, 25 or 30 years ago when designing an unattractive car seems like a national entertainment in Korea. The days were over when Kia hired designer Peter Schreyer away from Audi. Schleier then moved to a new position in the Hyundai Kia conglomerate, but the EV4 makes us think that his work hasn’t been done yet.

The EV4 is much better at looking inside than the outside, but the cabin is innocent. The dashboard design is healthy, with panoramic twin screen arrangements that I’ve come to know and love from other Kias. Luckily, Kia has given up on the stupid idea of using the same buttons and dials for climate and stereo controls, as seen in some cars. Like the K4, two systems now get separate controls. praise!

Why are you so tall?

The problem with the new EV4’s interior is that it feels more cramped than a typical compact sedan. This is a problem that comes from the combination of stilts and low roofs. The former, like most EVs, is due to the battery under the car. The latter reaches aerodynamic shape and gives a drag coefficient of 0.23. Tesla model y It’s 0.04 lower than the Toyota Prius. Please look at the spec sheet. You can see that the EV4 has less headroom than the K4 sedan (in this case the Smudge is less than 0.5 inches), but headroom is measured from the hip point of the seat, not from the car floor. The seats on the EV4 are more close to the floor than most cars (it would be more accurate to say that the floor is closer to the seat).

We can switch from the royal family to the singular form for a moment. I’m 5 feet 6. It’s halfway between the height of an average man and an average woman. The downside is that it’s easy to pick in the bar fight. The advantage is that you can find a satisfactory seating position in most cars. With the EV4, I noticed that when I adjusted the seat to the comfortable foot angle I wanted, I was looking at the top of the windshield. When I sat in the center better in my vision and dropped my seat, I felt like I was sitting on the floor, but there wasn’t enough room to stretch my legs, and I felt like I was in the same zip code as my dashboard. Obviously, this is what driving is like My 6-foot-plus colleaguebut I’m not a tall man and shouldn’t make me feel like myself. There are no these issues Tesla Model 3it has a roofline 2.5 inches lower than the EV4.

Place your elbows on the diving board

There are other suspicious design decisions, such as how the EV4 will take advantage of the space between the front seats. This new Kia has a lovely half-length padded armrest that hinges upwards, making it another armrest. At least, that’s the best explanation you can come up with for the hard surface panel below, besides the model of the diving board architect. Why did Kia care about putting padded parts on? Perhaps the designer thought someone might have tried out the armrest and said, “Well, that might be a bit of a bit.” Too much comfortable. “

The diving board itself is not facing upwards, but instead slides back and forth, allowing EV4 owners to choose whether to block most or all open storage underneath it. It just blocks access, I’m worried. The thief can see the contents from the outside of the car regardless of the position of the diving board. The cubby itself is large enough to contain tissues and a few phone boxes, and it becomes a wallet (even small ones), hair clips, hair bands, pens, phone charging cables, loose changes, napkins (new and used), half meal granola, if the wife’s bars, if the wife’s wife’s tame. (Oh, first person, once more. Sorry.) Certainly, most car owners will be offered in simple boxes with hinged padded covers rather than this strange gimmick attached to the EV4.

Now we don’t suggest you judge the entire EV4 with its low roof or its stupid center console design. Rather, I’m trying to explain that this feature has acquired a rear seat for fashion here. Speaking of the rear seats, it also suffers from the high floor of the EV4. KIA definitely boasts about the legroom measurements, but the seats are too close to the floor and there is no room for toes under the front seats, making them feel more spacious and comfortable than the tape measure suggests.

Prices could be the winner of the EV4

Here is a strange car with a cramped interior that offers a lovely, sophisticated driving experience and convenient long distance capabilities. Like many cars, it’s an incomplete compromise, but knows that buyers will put up a lot for bargains.

As mentioned earlier, the base price of the Korean EV4 is $31,000, and it is the finest GT line model with a large battery, sunroof, premium paint, Harmon Cardon stereo, comprehensive head-up display and KIA’s excellent advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) with a list for around $38,500. To maintain pricing in the US, Kia will undercut the brand’s current entry-level EV, NIRO, and plummet underneath $33,000 Hyundai Kona Electrica tall SUV with no issues with internal space on the EV4. (KIA is part of the Hyundai Group, but the two brands operate as competitors.) $31,000 is a great price range for people already on sale on EVs. (Of course, your electricity bill will go up, but it’s probably not as close as you’re still paying for gas.) But for those considering an EV for the first time, the $30,000 price range might seem a bit steeper. Number of good cars and SUVs starting under $25,000.

We often hedge our first drive, but hedge our first drive by saying we need to wait until we can test our car on our grass at home, but for the 2026 KIA EV4, our hedge will have to wait until we see the pricing. This may not occur until the fourth quarter of the EV4 in 2025, near the sale date. The new EV4 has big prospects as an entry-level EV due to all its drawbacks, so it crosses your fingers. If Kia makes prices low enough, we hope that many of these cars will be seen on the road.

Top 1,500 US measles cases as outbreaks grow in Utah and Arizona

0

play

The US measles infection has hit new highs since the disease was declared eradicated in 2000, surpassing 1,500 cases on September 24th, occurring in parts of Utah and Arizona, public health officials said.

As of September 24, a total of 1,514 confirmed cases of measles have been confirmed in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Most cases are related to large outbreaks in West Texas, but other outbreaks and cases occur during community communication and travel in other states.

In recent months, cases have been steadily increasing in parts of Utah and Arizona. As of September 24, the Utah Department of Health and Human Services had confirmed 42 cases, with most infections concentrated in southwestern Utah near the Arizona Line.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Department of Health Services has recorded 52 measles cases as of September 23rd. Of these, 48 were reported in Mojave County. This is a rural area in northern Arizona, with outbreaks at its heart.

“We hope that as measles spreads to the United States, more travelers will come to Utah,” the Utah Department of Health and Human Services advised on its website. “Vaccinations continue to be the best protection against measles.”

Measles is a vaccine-preventable disease that was declared excluded in the United States in 2000. In other words, there was no spread, and new cases were contracted only from overseas. However, with an increase in parents who are exempt from children from receiving mandatory vaccinations, lower vaccination rates have led to an increase in the number of states no longer reporting a proportion consistent with herd immunity and recovery infections.

Measles Case in Utah, Arizona

The outbreak of measles in Arizona began in and around the city of Colorado in Mojave County, according to the Republic of Arizona, part of the USA Today Network. The town is particularly well known for its Mormon fundamentalism and polygamy and its connections to the neighbouring city of Hildale, Utah.

Last week, the Republic of Arizona reported that the outbreak had more than four times as much as a month. Before this year’s outbreak, state records showed that Arizona has not had more than 46 measles cases in a year since 1991, according to newspapers.

In August, the Moharb County Public Health Department announced that potential exposures may have occurred between August 2 and August 7 in both Arizona and Utah. The state health department advised residents of Colorado and surrounding areas to be informed of the disease as they are “currently active” within the community.

The Utah Department of Health and Human Services reported that he traveled to southwestern Utah in May in June and visited public places after contracting measles. The Southwest Utah public health department then said in July that the area had “abnormally high” cases of measles and pertussis.

By September, exposure locations in southwestern Utah included high school events, local festivals and restaurants, according to the Utah Department of Health and Human Services. Health officials in both Utah and Arizona are urging residents to get the measles vaccine.

US measles cases reach new heights

Of the 1,514 confirmed measles cases, 1,493 were recorded in 41 states, according to the CDC. A total of 21 measles cases were reported among international visitors to the US.

The last outbreak of a similar scale occurred in 2019 when 1,274 confirmed cases nationwide. By July 2025, 1,288 measles cases had been confirmed, exceeding the number.

The CDC noted that 40 outbreaks were reported in 2025, with 86% (1,307 cases) of confirmed cases being associated with the outbreak. An outbreak is defined as three or more related cases.

Of the 1,514 cases, 27% occurred in patients under 5 years of age, and 39% reported between ages 5 and 19 years of age. They also reported 185 patients hospitalised, including 88 patients under the age of five.

The CDC said 92% of measles cases in the country are patients who have not been vaccinated or have had an unknown condition. In West Texas, there were three confirmed deaths, including two children.

West Texas is the epicenter of the US measles incident, with over 760 confirmed cases by August. More than two-thirds of the infection occurred in children, with over 94% of cases in people who were not vaccinated.

On August 18, the Texas Department of Health declared that the Western Texas outbreak had ended, saying it had more than 42 days, or two periods of incubation.

The best protection against measles is the MMR vaccine

Measles is highly contagious and can spread if an infected person coughs or sneezes, the CDC said. Also, breathing contaminated air can cause people to remain infected for up to two hours or by touching their mouth, eyes, or nose after contact with contaminated surfaces.

According to the CDC, symptoms of measles usually appear 7-14 days after contact with the virus and generally include high fever, cough, runny nose and watery eyes. Measles rash appears 3-5 days after the onset of the initial symptoms.

Complications of measles include ear infections, hearing loss, pneumonia, croup, diarrhea, blindness and swelling of the brain, the CDC said. Even healthy children can cause serious illness and death.

In pregnant women who are not vaccinated, measles can cause premature birth or low-capacity babies.

The CDC estimates that about one in five people who have not been vaccinated in the US who have received measles will need to be hospitalized. Health experts emphasize that the best protection against illness is a vaccine that is administered alone or as part of a measles-Munz-Rubella (MMR) shot or as part of a measles-Munz-Rubella-Baricera (MMRV) vaccine.

Two doses of the MMR vaccine provide 97% protection against the virus, according to the CDC. Children usually receive the vaccine first when they are 12-15 months old and receive it again at age 4-6.

According to the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, adults born before 1957 are likely to have had measles as children, and are therefore presumed to have immunity.

Rescuers update search for an 8-year-old boy who disappeared

0

play

It’s been 19 years since 8-year-old Samuel Bourke discovered the forests of Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, but search and rescuers have not given up on their search for him.

Agents in Oregon and California are hoping to be able to blow fans off on the giant lake trails, Hillssides and forests over the weekend, helping to bring closure to Sam’s sadistic family. Over and over the years, they found no clue.

Sam was last seen on October 14, 2006 when he hiked with his father. His father, Kenneth Boulke, told investigators that Sam was suddenly rushed into the woods, and eventually the snowstorm caused a massive rescue effort as the day’s snowstorm.

Boehlke, which reached by USA Today on Wednesday, September 24th, said he is grateful that authorities have not forgotten his only child.

“We’ll be able to let him rest whatever they can to find something related to him,” he said. “We still wonder what happened.”

Sam’s mother, Kirsten Becker, told USA Today that he has been in touch with many former rescuers over the years and runs the agency that is doing the search for today.

“They are absolutely shining humans and blessings to this world,” she said, adding that her son’s loss of disappearance is more than just a search operation for the men and women looking for him.

“It should have been easy and we could have found him. It’s frustrating for them,” she said. “It’s an innocent boy, a boy who was autistic… I think it’s what bothers them.”

Here are other things you need to know about the incident:

More about Sam Beerke’s Lost Disappear

Kenneth Baulke and his son were staying in the area of Lake Diamond on October 14, 2006, and were hiking all day to Crater Lake, he told investigators at the time. At one point, Borke said that Sam ran into the woods on the hill and the boy had not responded to his increasingly desperate call, he said.

“He was pretty fearless,” Balke told USA Today. “I think the FBI did too.

Becker detailed what happened that day, explaining that his son is obsessed with finding “gold” or yellow Pumis stones at Crater Lake. And when it was time to leave, he wanted to continue searching for the stone.

Sam ran off and expanded the slope of Pumis, which Becker said was similar to running the dunes on meatball-sized rock. This terrain made it difficult for Borke to catch up with Sam.

“I know my son, I know he decided to run away and hide somewhere, and Ken probably just passed him,” she said. “Sam probably tried to go back double, but he got lost.”

Unable to find his son, Bork flagged the car that day for assistance and rescue efforts.

More details on the search effort to find Sam Boehlke

A search for Sam Beerke created a national headline in 2006 as helicopters, dogs and rescuers flocculated the area in search of him.

A disaster occurred on the first day of the search as a snowstorm struck the area and hampered rescue operations, including the ability to assist in the search until the weather settled two days later.

Three nights after Sam went missing, rescuers told reporters that, according to an archived story by the Associated Press, they thought the boy was still alive despite the sub-freezing temperature and about seven inches of snow on the ground. He wore cargo pants, a long sleeve T-shirt and a winter jacket.

Rescuers told the Associated Press that they were watching in small hiding places under rocks and logs in case the boy attempts to evacuate during the storm. “We hope he might be in that place. He may have been evacuated for several days,” National Park Service spokesman Rudy Ivanson told the Associated Press at the time, adding that it is unlikely that the boy had fallen into the lake due to the obstacles on the slope that stopped the descent.

A few days later, they still couldn’t find any traces of him.

Park chief ranger David Brennan told reporters “There is absolutely no indication of foul play or criminal activity.”

Over the years, rescuers have returned to the area to find signs of Sam. They also receive much needed training on steep, rugged terrain.

Among the crew searched at the lake over the weekend was the Sisky County Sheriff’s Office in Northern California. The agency posted on Facebook on Wednesday about their efforts.

“We are proud of our search and rescue volunteers for the dedication and hard work they demonstrate during the emergency rescue efforts and the missing person incidents decades ago,” Post said. “In many cases, searches for these evidence could lead to families closing in a few years, and our SAR team is determined to continue supporting our Oregon counterparts on their mission to find Sammy.”

Becker said she was very grateful for their efforts.

“He died there. I know that,” she said. “You’re always hoping for evidence. You love coming up with different ideas about where they’re going back and where to look, but I might think they might not know they’ll find a piece of Sam.”

She also knows that her ex-husband, Bork, did everything he could that day.

“He was absolutely devastated by this,” she said. “I don’t blame him at all. He loved his son.”

Ray of hope

Sam’s parents were unable to save him that day in Crater Lake, but Becker said he came up with a way to help other children with autism two years after his loss of failure.

She created a group called Autism Anchor Dogs. This paired 38 children with primarily Newfoundland dogs and children with autistic children.

“I needed a purpose after Sam,” she said. She added that she came across research showing that animals can benefit children with autism. “They can hold anchor positions where the kids don’t elop (run away). We had a 100% success rate. None of these kids were dead, and no one fled to fled while using their dogs.”

She added: “I may have lost my son, but I saved 38 other children.”

Crater Lake details

Crater Lake is the only national park in Oregon. Located in southern Oregon, about 100 miles southwest of Bend, it is the deepest lake in the United States and the deepest lake in the world, about 2,000 feet.

It has long been fascinated by both scientists and amateurs, both in the way it was formed and the way it exists to this day.

Almost 8,000 years ago, a volcano known as Mount Mazama collapsed after an eruption, causing massive depression that allowed the lake to form, according to the National Park Service.

The river, which is made up entirely of snow and rain, with 5 trillion gallons of water, does not connect to the lake.

Crater Lake saw just over 500,000 visitors in 2024. This has been partially reduced due to the remoteness of the park. This saw 1.6 million and 4.1 million visitors in 2024, respectively, compared to busy parks in neighboring states such as Mount Rainier, Washington, and Yosemite, California, according to federal statistics.

Trump calls for investigation into technical failures during his visit to the United Nations

0

“This was no coincidence, it was a triple sabotage at the United Nations,” Trump said in a social media post. “They should be ashamed of themselves.”

play

President Donald Trump was still simmering the day after experiencing multiple technical difficulties at the United Nations, a day after he was denounced the organisation without evidence of “triple interference” and demanding investigations and arrests.

Trump claimed he had to compete with the escalator and teleprompter that were not working, and during his speech to the general meeting, the sound was said to be “completely off” in the auditorium.

“This wasn’t just a coincidence, it was a triple sabotage at the United Nations,” Trump said in a September 24 social media post. “They should be ashamed of themselves.”

The President did not provide evidence of his obstruction claim. The United Nations did not immediately respond to a request for comment on September 24th.

“The sound was completely off in the auditorium.”

United Nations spokesman Stephen Dujaric said in a statement released on September 23 that the organization investigated the elevator incident and discovered that members of Trump’s team may have stopped working on the escalators.

Dujarric said the US delegation videographer was moving the escalator back to film Trump’s arrival. Just as the videographer reached the top, Trump and his wife “installed stairs at the bottom” of the elevator, the statement added.

In a study that involves reading out the machine’s central processing unit, “the escalator stopped after a built-in safety mechanism was triggered at the top of the escalator,” Dujarric said. “The videographer may have inadvertently caused safety features.”

Teleprompters began working during Trump’s speech. Unknown UN officials told Reuters that the White House operated its own teleprompter, and after Trump finished speaking, General Assembly President Annalena Bearbock told Reuters:

The Associated Press also reported that the White House is running a teleprompter, citing an unknown UN official.

Trump also claimed during his speech that “the sound was completely off in the auditorium,” and that “world leaders could not hear things unless they used the interpreter’s earpiece.” News Outlet TRT World reported multiple microphone disorders during speeches by world leaders, including those from Canada and Indonesia.

UN officials told the outlet that “there were no signs.”

However, Trump sought an investigation and arrest. Mike Waltz, ambassador for both Trump and the United Nations, said the Secret Service would investigate technical failures.

“These lapses are unacceptable and are a symptom of a broken facility that poses serious safety and security risks,” Waltz said.

Owens, 66, vowed to cut women over 60 on the University of Michigan College Football Podcast, repeatedly apologising for calling the comments “out of scope” and “mistakes.” He will again apologise to 23 contestants, ages 58 to 77, at the “Golden Bachelor” premiere (8 ET/PT) on September 24th.

A handsome, silver-haired sports lawyer and hopeful divorced father of the two who viewers will allow and watch the ride. “I tune and give me a second chance,” Owens tells USA Today. “Please give your own evaluation.”

What we know about the new Golden Bachelor Beyond His Opening Fumble:

Who is Mel Owens from Golden Bachelor? Football plays a major part of the life of a former Rams linebacker

“The Golden Bachelor” returned to Owens’ home in Detroit, where his father, Walter Owens, played professional baseball for the Negro American League Detroit Star and coached high school baseball.

The young Owens, the University of Michigan standout football star, was drafted in the first round by his childhood favorite team, the Los Angeles Rams, where he played for nine seasons and called up 26.5 sacks. The Rams and Football still play a major role in his characters today.

“You can’t strip the University of Michigan and La Rams from anything,” Owens says. “Soccer is regimented. You are a team player, you need to show up on time and work hard. All of this will be carried over.”

After Owens retired in 1989, he returned to law school and became a sports lawyer.

Mel Owens values his life with two grown sons who gave him a crash course on social media.

Owens has two grown sons Lucas, 20, and Andre, 18, after their 18-year marriage.

“They live mostly with me and I value that great father-son relationship,” says Owens. “Every morning, I’ll be with them before they go to school.”

The boys supported him in his “Golden Bachelor” quest and helped guide his dad into the world of Instagram, not pushing social media into the world of Instagram. “They took me to Tiktok and then to Instagram. I didn’t know how to do all of them,” says Owens. “My boy helped me. Two months ago I had four followers. I think I have more than four now.”

The new Golden Bachelor is used for criticism and can be hit

“Second Chance” Golden Bachelor has often acquitted himself since the scandal. Owens says he’s used to getting hits since his days in football. “I was constantly criticized not only by my fans, but by my coaches and teammates,” Owens says. “You take it because it’s your job.”

He does not search for Boobard online. “I definitely won’t dig into comments on social media,” Owens says.

What happened to Mel Owens’ first marriage?

Owens married Fabiana Pimental in 2002 and had two sons. The divorce proceedings began in 2020 and were finalized in 2024.

“It was a long marriage and it didn’t work out,” he says. “I still want her a lot, and I love getting married.”

What is his perfect date?

Self-proclaimed “romantic” is not bound by a single “perfect date.”

“I like to travel, it can be a perfect date,” says Owens. “And then, just being at home, relaxing, watching TV, reading, nothing, there are lots of perfect moments.

He’s not a big writer, but “I’m emotional.”

The first Golden Bachelor Jerry Turner is shed tears in almost every episode. But don’t expect Owens’ water supply. “I’m not necessarily a Cree, but I’m emotional,” he says. “But crying is a human emotion. It’s cataltic. It happens. It’s a good thing.”

He believes he has him

Owens says he had external sense recognition (ESP) since he was a child.

“It’s an exchange of energy,” he says. “The electromagnetic energy is being exchanged throughout. If you’re in line with it, you can feel it.”

This is useful in his Golden Bachelor Quest.

“When someone enters a room, you look at them and give them an evaluation,” says Owens. “I’ve learned to trust your intuition. It’s your sensory perception. You have a better understanding of human nature.”

Is Mel Owens looking for marriage in The Golden Bachelor?

Not necessarily, but definitely a new love. “Love is a good thing, fills your heart, makes you feel good and gives you a purpose,” says Owens. “I loved falling in love, and that’s my ultimate goal.”

Naturally, Owens doesn’t wear wedding bands or jewelry. Also, the dating show doesn’t give you clues as to what went down while filming.

“You’ll just have to watch the journey,” he says. “There are ups and downs, there are twists and turns. It’s just incredible what happened. It’s an adventure.”

The victims of the shooting at the ICE facility are detainees and live updates on the attack

The shooter opened fire at a US immigration customs facility in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, killing one detainee and seriously injured two other people authorities are investigating as “targeted violence.”

Officials say the shooter was fired “indiscriminately” from a nearby rooftop, hitting the immigration facility and van in Surryport where the victim was attacked. Authorities say the gunman was found dead at the scene from a self-injured gunshot wound.

Authorities said they have not been hit with the shooting, but the shooting is being investigated as a target attack against law enforcement. FBI Director Kash Patel said there was evidence of “ideological motives” on the scene and posted an image showing X’s shell casings in blue without the word “Anti-Ice” inscribed.

Officials have not confirmed the suspect’s name. CNN and NBC News have identified the suspected attacker as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn.

The incident was the second shooting this year at a Texas ice facility, coming just two weeks after the gunman fatally shot conservative activist Charlie Kirk at a university in Utah. Speaking at a press conference Wednesday, officials slammed a partial rhetoric shooting of immigrant enforcement law enforcement calling for an end to political violence.

“This is wrong. Political-motivated violence is wrong,” Texas Sen. Ted Cruz added, “We need to learn to work together without attacking each other, without demonizing each other.”

Among the victims of the shooting were Mexicans “really injured,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.

“Consulate officials contacted the victims’ families to provide support and legal assistance,” Mexican officials said in a statement about the victims being treated at the hospital. “The Consulate is in continuous communication with the authorities responsible for the investigation, awaiting permission to visit any hospitalized Mexican citizens.”

Mexican officials are calling for a full investigation into the shooting and access to victims.

Their push said President Claudia Sheinbaum on Wednesday sent a diplomatic memo at the hands of immigration agents seeking information on the fatal shootings of Mexicans outside of Chicago.

Immigration officials announced Wednesday evening that they would increase security at agency facilities around the country in response to the shooting.

Agency spokesman Tricia McLaughlin shared a video on social media, saying that Homeland Security’s Department of Homeland Security ordered “enhanced security” with centres on detention facilities and field offices.

McLaughlin didn’t say what the increase in security measures would look like, but NOEM requests for increased security will arise as agency staff outside Chicago install metal fences around facilities where people protest immigration enforcement every day. Local fire department officials demanded that the fence be withdrawn, saying they would present a risk in the event of an emergency.

McLaughlin also said agents would increase recruitment, adding that “numbers are safe.”

In a social media post calling the shooting “despicable,” President Donald Trump denounced the attacks in Texas with “crazy radical leftists” and said he would sign an executive order this week “to dismantle these domestic terrorist networks.”

Beyond the authorities’ photographs of shell casings that say “anti-ice” come Trump’s comments erroneously erroneously as authorities make little public information about the shooter. It was not immediately clear how such an executive order would be implemented.

Elected Democrat officials also quickly condemned the attack in Texas.

“The shooting at an ice facility in Dallas is an unacceptable act of violence. My heart is with the victims and their loved ones,” Sen. Cory Booker wrote in X.

Vice President JD Vance told the North Carolina crowd that stopping political violence “relax, it starts at the top of the Democrats.”

“If you want to stop political violence, stop attacking law enforcement as a Gestapo,” Vance told a rally in Concord, outside Charlotte. “If you want to stop political violence, stop telling your supporters that anyone who doesn’t agree with you is a Nazi. If you want to stop political violence, look in the mirror.”

Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin condemned “this meaningless, coronavirus attack” in a statement on ice shooting.

“Let me be clear. It is necessary that not only on one side of the aisle, but all of us, to quell this epidemic of violence, it is not in our democracy,” added Martin. “Democrats continue to be committed to solving differences through debate and elections, not weapons.”

A September 11 study by the libertarian think tank, Cato Research Institute, found that terrorists motivated by the extreme sector of right-leaning ideology killed six times more people than those on the far left of the political spectrum from 1975 to 10 September.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that one detainee was killed and two were seriously injured in the shootings Wednesday.

The agency previously said two detainees had been killed and one was seriously injured.

A suspect in a fatal shooting at the Icefield office in Dallas, Texas has been identified, several media outlets reported.

The alleged attacker was identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, according to CNN and NBC News. Officials have not confirmed the suspect’s name.

According to a database of Dallas City Active Police Calls, 38 police forces responded to a 6:38am call for assistance at 8100 N. Stemmons Freeway, where the local ice headquarters is located. The facility is located in the northwest of the city.

Dallas Police Department Chief Daniel Comeau said at a press conference that police responded to the area after the initial aid call for assistance was received around 6:40 a.m.

At the scene, officers learned that four people, including the gunman, had been shot dead, Comeau said.

– Lauren Villagran

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson asked people not to jump to conclusions before investigators work to identify the clear motives for Wednesday’s fatal shooting.

“Let’s hold on. Stay calm and let our partners become law enforcement partners. The police department should do their job,” he told the news conference. “This is an active survey. There are still many unanswered questions and I would like to encourage you to exercise a little restraint.”

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz condemned the shootings Wednesday, calling on politicians to stop using rhetoric “devilized” ice and border patrol agents.

“This needs to be stopped,” he said. “This is wrong. Political-motivated violence is wrong.”

Cruz pointed to other attacks on ice and border shelters this year, along with the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk two weeks ago.

“In America, I don’t agree that it’s okay. It’s a democratic process, but your political enemy is not the Nazis,” he said. “We need to learn to work together without attacking each other and without demonizing each other.”

Gabby Giffords, a former Arizona Senator who survived an attempted assassination in 2011, expressed his sadness towards the victims in a shooting at an ICE facility. She also cited the administration’s “cruel and inhumane immigration policies.”

“We are waiting for more information, but it is clear that our country is in the midst of a gun crime crisis, and I urge our leaders to take action soon,” Gifford said in the X-Post.

Joseph Roth Lock, a special agent in charge of the Dallas FBI Field Office, found the round near the body of a suspected shooter who had the message that investigators were “anti-ice in nature.”

The FBI is investigating the incident as an act of target violence, Rothlock said.

“This is the latest example of this type of attack,” he said.

FBI Director Kash Patel said “the initial review of the evidence shows the ideological motives behind this attack.”

He posted an image on X of ammunition on the scene, including one engraved in the phrase “anti-ice.”

“A further update is coming up,” Patel added.

The FBI is involved in investigating a fatal shooting at an ice facility in Dallas, agency officials have announced.

“The FBI is fully involved in conjunction with state and federal law enforcement partners at the scene of crime in Dallas,” FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said in a statement from X.

At least one person killed in Dallas ice detention shooting was injured

At least one lethal death and multiple injuries were reported at the Ice Detention Center in Dallas.

In July, an ice facility near the Dallas-Fort Worth area was attacked with a shooting that injured a local police officer.

Federal officials say a “violent group” launched a coordinated attack on the Prairiland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, firing dozens of rounds at the facility and attacking Alvarado police officers in the neck. More than 10 people have been charged in connection with the incident.

Ice facilities across the country were protest sites, and sometimes became violent as clashes between federal officials and demonstrators. White House officials say assaults against immigrant agents have risen by 700% amid the Trump administration’s vast deportation campaign.

The United Latin American Citizens’ Federation (LULAC), a national civil society for Latin Americans, has condemned the attacks at ICE facilities.

“Violence is by no means the answer. Our country should not normalize these horrible actions,” said Roman Palomares, president of the National President and Organizational Council of Lulac, in a statement. “We are grieving and urge Americans to lower the temperature of our public discourse.”

Last month, the Dallas Ice Field Office, targeted in Wednesday’s attack, issued an order for shelter to the location after a man approached the building and claimed he had an explosive device in his backpack.

The Department of Homeland Security said on August 25, the man approached the ice facility and showed security guards what he claimed to be a “explosiver” on his wrist. A bomb squad was sent to the scene and local law enforcement officers arrested Bratton Dean Wilkinson, 36.

Officials after the shooting said attacks on immigration agencies “mune must be stopped.”

“We don’t know the motivation yet, but we know that our ICE law enforcement agencies face unprecedented violence against them, and that has to be stopped,” Noem said.

“Obstracism attacks on law enforcement, especially ICE, must stop. Everyone has been hurt and praying for their families,” Vice President JD Vance said.

Sen. Ted Cruz of R-Texas said he is aware of the incident in X and is closely monitoring the situation.

“We pray for the injured person’s prompt recovery and are deeply grateful to the brave first responder who rushed to the scene,” he said.

Road rage is contagious, says AAA – here’s how to stay safe

Have you ever driven aggressively?

According to a new survey by the American Automobile Association Foundation for Traffic Safety, there is a 96% chance that they answered “yes” to that question.

While almost all American drivers admit to speeding, tailing, or other forms of aggressive driving, the report found that these actions were contagious to other drivers who share the road.

“Driving can be a stressful experience due to the behavior of others on the road and how you respond to a variety of situations,” said David Yang, president and executive director of the AAA Foundation for AAA Road Safety. “Our study found that experiencing different forms of aggressive driving behavior is common for almost all drivers, with many driving being driven aggressively.”

According to the research technical report, the study included 53 participants from 27 US states, spanning eight different focus groups, interviewing drivers who were “occasionally” or “habitually” offensive and drivers who were “engaged in road rage” across eight different focus groups.

Drivers were asked to explain their experiences of aggressive behavior, situations forced to drive aggressively, emotions, coping strategies, and road rage.

The report found that 92% of drivers reported aggressive driving behaviors, such as speeding or shutting down others, but their motivation was to either arrive at their destination or avoid potential dangers.

Furthermore, the survey claims that 11% of those surveyed have deliberately allowed others to slam or stand up from frustration to another driver.

“This work concludes that road etiquette and manners can be a protective factor against aggressive driving,” Yang said. “Let’s change the driving culture so that all road users can achieve a safe mobility vision.”

The American driving culture has been changing since 2016, with some actions declining, but some are rising.

The study found that tail measurements and oral altercations have since decreased by 24% and 17% respectively, but 67% and 47% respectively to slash the vehicle and ringing out of anger, respectively.

AAA tips when driving with an aggressive driver

  • Don’t get involved – no eye contact, gestures, or responses
  • Let them pass and keep the distance
  • Protect yourself – call the police or it’s public somewhere, but don’t go home

AAA Tips for Controlling Road Rage

  • Take a deep breath
  • Ignore aggressive drivers
  • Allow travel time – leave early and drive slowly

“Having good manners behind the wheel isn’t just about being polite,” said Joe Torres, AAA Road Safety Advocacy and Research Manager, in a release. “It’s about ensuring the safety and happiness of everyone on the road.”

“Charlie Kirk Shaw” producer criticizes Kimmel’s lack of apology

Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Corvette was not impressed with Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue on Tuesday, September 23rd.

“Well, one apology, Bill. When someone like Jimmy Kimmel said that he was Charlie’s shooter, what he really says is that it’s okay to lie about conservatives.

Kimmel, who returned to host a late-night talk show after a six-day suspension by ABC, spoke about his comments on Kirk’s death on September 15th. In his almost 18-minute monologue, he spoke to both the support and backlash that followed his remarks.

Corvette, who is also the executive producer of “Charlie Kirkshaw,” asserted that Kimmel’s comments were part of the “agent,” political and cultural in nature, and “more important than the lives of friends who were just taken from us and taken from us.”

See what else the Corvette had to say about Kimmel’s speech, including why the comedian was interrupted in the first place.

Andrew Kolvet: “Contrition” includes accountability, apologies

“Where was the ‘Sorry?’,” Corvette told hemmer on Fox. “Where was your attitude? Yeah, he was emotional, but I think he was emotional.

According to Kolbe, when people like Jimmy Kimmel refuse to accountability, like skirts around the truth, “send a signal that there are devices ready to protect these evil actors and that they are not OK.”

“Instead, he was rebellious. He parsed the words. He tried to screw the needle into play on both sides, and that’s not how we can get healing in this country,” Corvette said. “He needs to say, ‘This isn’t okay.’ I will never do it again, and for others who are thinking someone else to commit violence, political violence: stop, it’s not okay. ”

He added: “All we need is ‘Sorry’. I was wrong.

Why was Jimmy Kimmel stopped?

After over 20 years of late-night host Kimmel has been suspended “indefinitely” after the Nexstar Media Group, Sinclair Broadcast Group and Federal Communications Commission for comments made on the September 15th episode from the Nexstar Media Group, Sinclair Broadcast Group and Federal Communications Commission.

The comedian said the “Magagang” is “deeply trying to characterise” Tyler Robinson’s “Tyler Robinson” who was accused of in connection with the fatal shooting as “a thing other than one of them and will do everything possible to score political points from there.”

Later that day, Nexstar Media Group said it would not air Kimmel’s show at ABC affiliates for comments, and Disney then suspended production of the show.

The decision, which sparked a massive backlash from the entertainment industry and beyond, was reversed by Disney on September 22 amid growing protests, including government censorship allegations. However, Sinclair and Nexter said they were still ABC affiliates and Kimmel’s show not Air’s show.

Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night return to television was monitored by 6.3 million viewers, broadcasting over 26 million viewers across YouTube and social media.

On September 23, the Emmy-winning comedian spoke to ABC’s suspension following a backlash over his comments on the deadly shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on September 15. After his return, Kimmel’s opening monologue lasted nearly 18 minutes, with some emotion, some humor and some action.

Kimmel choked him down as he said he wasn’t going to shed any light on Kirk’s murder, and emphasized that he must defeat Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Kerr for defending the show’s suspension and protecting freedom of speech.

Some saw the return speech with the host’s admiration, but others, including President Donald Trump, criticized the ABC’s decision to bring his performance and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” return.

Here’s how fans, critics and celebrities responded to Kimmel’s speech:

Social media users praise Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue

Kimmel’s monologue received applause from many people outside the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, with social media posts being called “Moving,” “Historic,” and “Must-see.”

Others called Jimmy Kimmel’s apology are “fake screams”

Among those critical of the speech was the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr. Donald Trump Jr. accused Kimmel of refusing to call the suspect a leftist in Kirk’s murder.

TV host Piers Morgan said Kimmel was crying “crocodile tears” after Kimmel stopped him for comments about Kirk. Podcaster Megin Kelly, who lost the NBC show after comments about the “Blackface” Halloween costume, rejected Kimmel’s “self-sympathy.”

And during Trump’s first term, White House spokesman Sean Spicer said Kimmel had not apologized for his comments on Kirk.

Ben Stiller, more celebrities respond to Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue

Before returning to midnight, more than 400 celebrities signed an open letter from the American Civil Liberties Union showing support for Kimmel after the suspension.

Following Kimmel’s monologue, stars like “retirement” executive producer Ben Stiller and “It” author Stephen King commented on Kimmel’s return.

Meanwhile, others in the industry had mixed reviews about Kimmel’s return and his monologue.

Voice Trump supporter Rob Schneider, who spoke about Kimmel’s suspension last week, denounced the host of the late-night talk show, saying in a monologue on Tuesday, “I lied again.”

Is Teslas safe for your health? Things you need to know about radiation

Is your Tesla EV very radioactive because it can cause health problems?

play

  • Many electric vehicles emit radiation due to their own design.
  • Ownership of a Tesla car requires battery maintenance knowledge for safe and optimal performance.

Based on the high sales figures in recent years, millions of Americans have declined due to the Tesla brand, is it a toxic or radioactive relationship?

Tesla, Inc. produces some of the most popular electric vehicles on the planet, including the Model Y SUV and the Model 3 Sedan. The company also operates one of the largest electric vehicle charging networks in existence. While Tesla EVs have become a part of everyday life for many drivers, there is a common misconception that they emit harmful levels of radiation. Here’s why the myth is easily exposed:

Tesla electric vehicles and radioactivity: a myth or serious health concern?

EVs are still very new to the industry, and drivers are really concerned about their practicality and safety. Many items and objects emit radiation, from smartphones and microwaves to televisions and smoke detectors. Electric vehicles have more powerful and complex electronics than gas vehicles, and do not rely heavily on sophisticated electrical systems.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xybhxdbtc0q

Electric vehicles such as Teslas emit electromagnetic radiation and low-frequency magnetic fields. Do not immediately grip the pearls as they emit electromagnetic radiation Tesla EVs. In short, this means that radiation is different from the type that can alter DNA and cause cancer (ionizing radiation).

Ultimately, the radiation produced by Tesla electric vehicles has not been proven to be harmful, and “low-frequency electromagnetic fields pose little danger to human health,” according to Healthline.com, a digital health and wellness platform.

How safe is a Tesla battery?

Radiation levels are not a potential Tesla concern for American drivers and car buyers. EVs like Teslas also use powerful lithium-ion batteries that can provide enough energy to propel hundreds of miles of heavy vehicles.

Some automakers, like General Motors, have experienced serious problems generating EVs with lithium-ion batteries, but Tesla has not had extensive battery issues, resulting in massive recalls. Tesla EV batteries are generally safer than lithium-ion batteries used by major automakers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w_jy8mnvgm

EV Battery Safety Tips

  • If possible, do not charge in extreme heat
  • Avoid past 80% charging
  • Plan routes and charging times for optimal battery performance

Most lithium-ion batteries can overheat and cause damage if overcharged. An easy way to avoid this is to plan a charging and avoid fully charging your EV to achieve the best possible performance.

Is Tesla’s safety rating worse than its rivals?

The 2025 Tesla Model Y Small Electric SUV has received a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for highway safety. Meanwhile, Tesla has “the highest accident rate of any automotive brand,” according to Forbes. Teslaev is inherently unsafe, but the brand is not a leader in vehicle safety. Additionally, Tesla is facing an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on failure to report crash data, CNN said.

While it’s no secret that Tesla is one of the most innovative brands in the EV space, safety concerns, particularly including semi-autonomous driving, have elicited scrutiny from federal safety regulators. In the case of radioactivity, Tesla EVs look harmless. Its accident rate and semi-autonomous driving capabilities are a major source of concern.

School bus internet, library Wi-Fi lending may end with FCC vote

0

The FCC is expected to end changes to Biden-era rules that allow nearly 200,000 schools and libraries to lend out Wi-Fi hotspot devices.

play

It can quickly become difficult for students to access the internet on the school bus or rent mobile internet hotspots from the library.

In a September 23 letter, the coalition of school and library advocacy groups urged the Federal Communications Commission to protect programs that allowed schools and libraries to lend hotspot devices.

“One in five households in our country doesn’t have access to reliable home broadband. Hotspots are not a permanent fix, but we will ensure that students, job seekers, veterans and seniors are not left behind.”

The FCC is scheduled to vote at its September 30th meeting and will revoke a 2024 rule change by the Biden administration, which allows schools and libraries to lend hot spots and provide Wi-Fi on buses as part of their existing e-rate program.

When schools and businesses were closed during the pandemic, Congress allocated $123 million to the FCC to buy school and library hotspots. The 2024 Biden FCC vote came after the authority to terminate that money.

Schools and libraries in all states have already approved contracts and the money is already spent. In the 2025 fiscal year, which ends September 30th, the schools and districts requested a total of $27.5 million for Wi-Fi hotspots.

According to a September 3 FCC news release, companies running a program called e-rate will be denied “rejected pending funding in 2025.

An FCC spokesman did not respond to requests for comment.

Is there too much unsurveillanced internet access?

FCC Chairman Brendan Kerr said in a statement that the authority to fund Wi-Fi initiatives was finished by the time Biden FCC voted. He said the electronic rates are not intended to provide children with unsupervised access to the internet.

“The FCC has also failed to demonstrate that these funding decisions advance legitimate classroom or library objectives. I was against both decisions at the time. I am happy to distribute these two items now.

Senate and House Republicans introduced measures earlier this year to overturn Biden’s rules. It also calls it partisan overreach, as federal law says it aims to provide discounts on broadband services only to “school classrooms” and libraries.

In May, the Senate voted 50-38 along the party line, overturning the 2024 expansion. A similar bill introduced in the House of Representatives in February has not been considered.

Many people don’t have access to homework, telehealth, online banking, and more.

Schools, Health & Libraries Broadband Coalition, American Library Association (ALA), Edlinc and the Homework Gap Union have signed a joint letter to the FCC.

“It’s a daily issue for students looking for success in schools, people looking for jobs, rural residents who rely on telehealth, and students who don’t have digital skills to file taxes and set up online banking,” Helmic said in a statement. “Policymakers should welcome the enthusiasm of local libraries and schools and become part of the solution.”

The letter provides examples of rural school districts with long bus commutes, such as Farmington Municipal Schools in New Mexico, with Wi-Fi on the bus to allow students to ride homes for up to two hours.

The letter also highlights that both programs are subject to e-rate filtering requirements in accordance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), ensuring that users do not have free access to indecent or harmful materials.

It also fits alongside other changes made to the e-rate programme that are not expressly permitted under federal law, such as supporting internet access for administrative offices, parking and library registrations by covering loan hotspots and allowing Wi-Fi to school buses.

While waiting for Rapture 2025, social media has made plans for the end of the day

0

play

Y2K, 2012, The End Clock, and now I’m ecstatic.

Theories about the end of the world have been pervasive for decades. But this week, internet experts appeared to believe in the Rapture, an event that evangelical Christians essentially believe to mark the end of human history.

According to the intersection, a Missouri-based church, the joy comes when Jesus returns to gather Christians on Earth and bring them to heaven.

Earlier this year, South African men theorized that the rapture would take place on September 23rd or 24th. Speculation spread online, with some Christians beginning to plan the event, while others satirizing that they would rise into the sky.

“It’s time to organize your home. Be prepared for your family to return to heaven,” Christian content creator @kingdomwealth_christina wrote in a video on September 18th for Tiktok.

What is a Rapture?

Although the rapture is not explicitly mentioned in the Bible, some Christians interpret New Testament poems as describing events that encompass Jesus’ return to earth, where he suddenly takes his followers to heaven. However, according to the Ethnos360 Bible Institute, a Christian university, theories about the end of the world, such as the rapture, are not agreed by all Christians.

Why did people think the rapture was happening?

The belief that the rapture will take place on September 23rd or 24th appears to have emerged from a podcast interview released in June.

In it, Joshua Murachela, a Christian from South Africa, said that Jesus told him in a dream.

“He tells me, on September 23rd and 24th, 2025, I will take away my church,” Murakera said.

The video has received over 600,000 views so far.

Some on social media are planned for joy, while others have joked about it

Whether the joy was certain that on September 23rd, what aspects of the Internet were dependent on.

Some Christian content creators had planned for the end of the world.

“My last video. Meet my brothers and sisters in the clouds” user @romans.ten.9through11 captioned the video of Tiktok where they said “it feels like my story is over.”

Another user named Melissa Johnston shared a video sharing how to plan out “left” items, including drugs, bills, and passwords.

One of them shared a clip of tears. There, he broke what he believed was his last day with his children.

On the less serious side of things, some people have made playful videos about their loved ones they thought weren’t included in the joy.

“I’ll prepare my husband for the rapture on Tuesday because there’s nowhere he’ll go,” one person said he’d passed basic home tasks in Tiktok.

Others – those who seemingly not religious or simply inexplicable by Internet theory, have been removed by that possibility.

“So, I know you’re coming tomorrow, so if you’re worried about it like me, I’m going to make you a little secret,” user @spicytuna16 said in Tiktok. “All you need to do is save your life to Venmo, CashApp or Zelle.”

Another user shared the “rules of joy” including planning a livestream when ascending into heaven.

Under $55,000 of the cheapest new sports cars of 2025

These sweet rides offer great performances without sacrificing a lot of money.

play

  • Despite rising prices for new cars, there are plenty of new sports cars under $35,000.
  • Mazda, Ford and Toyota produce exhilarating and competitive sports cars at affordable prices.

Sports cars offer the most exciting and dynamic driving experience on all vehicles. From rapid acceleration to accurate cornering and handling, these vehicles are designed to embody the excellence of the car and drive enthusiasts.

Some sports cars can sacrifice arms and legs, which are not achieved for the average American driver in this economy. Thankfully, some major automakers produce affordable sports cars for drivers who want to experience the thrill of sports cars without breaking the bank.

The 2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata is an affordable sports car that doesn’t cut corners

Less spending on sports cars at the market rate doesn’t mean you’ll always settle for inferior vehicles. Miata Nameplate has been offering drivers a premium sports car experience since its debut in 1989.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yd4xbj_t2j4

The 2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata starts at just $29,830 on a sports-based model. Drivers can also upgrade to club trim for under $35,000 ($33,330) and add a sports tuning suspension with a Billstein damper and a Bose nine speaker audio system.

The MX-5 Miata from Japanese car manufacturer Mazda is a convertible roadster with vibrant acceleration. The Road & Truck is “one of the lightest new cars for sale” for £2,450. This reduces its handling and manufacturing potential than many competitors.

2025 Honda Civic Sea Sedan will make sports car performance mainstream

Honda’s bestselling models are practical cars and SUVs, such as the Honda Civic and CR-V. That said, automakers can still produce performance-oriented sports cars. The Civic Si Sedan is the sporty manual sports car version of the most popular sedan on the market.

The 2025 Honda Civic SI starts at $30,250. A six-speed manual transmission and a turbocharged engine are standard equipment, giving the Civic a sporty feel. The Civic SI also includes sports front seats and sport tuning suspension, providing sharper cornering and reducing body roll.

Unlike many models on our list, the Civic Si is a four-door sedan, which offers more practicality than a typical sports car. Meanwhile, it still creates the attractive driving dynamics needed to qualify as a realistic sports car.

Ford Mustang is an American icon

Ford’s Base Mustang Coupe is on the Kelly Blue Book list of cheapest sports cars. While many may consider Mustangs to be muscle cars, the coupe certainly fits the sports car bill in terms of size and performance.

The 2025 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Fastback starts at just $31,920. The power output (350 pound-feet of torque) of its powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine is enough to get one.

Ford’s Mustang Ecoboost Fastback allows drivers to experience a true blue oval Mustang without breaking the bank. Decades after its debut in 1964, it remains a major contender for that segment.

Toyota’s 2025 GR86 is a budget sports car that checks all boxes

The Toyota GR86 is the cheapest sports car in the Japanese car manufacturer’s portfolio. The GR86, jointly developed by Toyota and Subaru, is a minimalist take on modern sports cars. It produces enough power for its size, and the pleasant engine complains.

The 2025 Toyota GR86 starts at the base model $30,400. Premium trim ($33,000) also starts at under $35,000, adding features like blind spot detection and two-stage heating sports seats.

Toyota’s affordable sports cars are explosive to drive based on the USA Today test experience. Plus, it has a strong value proposition due to its driving dynamics and incredibly low prices.

The 2025 Subaru BRZ is “designed for drivers”

According to the Subaru website, the BRZ is “designed for drivers,” and it is difficult to discuss its claims considering its track record. It is known for driving the fun of driving above all, in terms of strengths, characteristics and capabilities.

The 2025 Subaur BRZ starts at $33,210. The BRZ, a cousin ton near the GR86, embodies the spirit of the same driver-centric sports car.

Subaru’s affordable sports cars may look like bare bones, but that’s because of the design. Its powerful four-cylinder engine and excellent driving dynamics make up for the shortcomings of internal materials and the lack of rear seat space.

If you’re looking for a new sports car for under $35,000 in 2025, there are many great options on your budget. From American icons like the Mustang to Japanese sports cars like the Miata, you can’t choose from amazing cars.

Gavin Newsom says he fears that “the election will not take place in 2028.”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom said he is worried that the presidential election will not take place in more than three years.

play

WASHINGTON – California Gov. Gavin Newsom called the Trump administration’s actions “authoritarian” and said he is worried about the absence of a presidential election in more than three years.

“We fear that we won’t be elected in 2028. I really at the heart of my soul – it means what’s going on in this country unless I wake up to Code Red, and I wake up calming down how serious this moment is.”

The Newspaper, one of the Democrats’ most powerful critics of President Donald Trump and the candidate for the next White House race, has blown up with the Republican administration taking “authoritarian behavior” amid nationwide crackdowns on immigration enforcement.

As reported by NBC News, federal agents arrested immigrants in courts and elsewhere across the United States, including Florida, and stripped them of due process protections elsewhere, including Florida. Family and immigration advocates say in part of the arrests, immigration judges could drop aggressive lawsuits against immigrants and facilitate the deportation process.

Newsom recently signed a bill that would prohibit local and federal officials from wearing masks while they are operating.

“I mean, if you jump out of an unmarked car and a van with a mask and try to grab me. I mean, by definition, you’re going to push back,” Newsom said. “And these are not mere authoritarian tendencies. They are authoritarian behaviors by authoritarian governments.”

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson in a statement called Newsom’s remarks on the 2028 election “absurd” and “conspiracy theories.”

Trump previously said that it will not “probably” run for the third term in 2028. The Constitution limits the two terms of office that have been in office. Trump also proposed that Vance was “the most likely” heir to the Maga movement, but Vance said it was “too early” to consider the 2028 election.

Newsom also criticized Trump for pushing for rezoning efforts in Texas aimed at helping Republicans win five more seats in the middle of 2026. Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed the law on a map of Texas’ new legislative assembly in August.

In response, Newsom is leading the efforts of his own district in California to grant Democrats up to five new seats in the middle of 2026. Voters will consider Newsom’s proposal for November through voting measures.

Newsom previously said in an August 27 interview at Politico’s California Agenda: Sacramento Summit that Trump will try to continue to serve beyond the constitutional term limits in 2028, using federal agents to equip Republican supporters with future elections.

“I don’t think Donald Trump wants another election,” he told Politico moderators at the time. “I have 20 20 Trump 2028 hats that his people keep sending me.” Newsom did not elaborate on how he thinks the 2028 election will be cancelled.

Trump uses autopen photographs as portraits of the Biden White House

President Donald Trump is trolling his predecessor in the White House using the new “President Walk Fame.”

Now, the black and white presidential portrait hangs along the colonnade near the oval office in gold frames. But instead of a photo of former president Joe Biden, according to White House social media posts and special assistant to the president, Margo Martin, there is an autopen photo.

Trump has long questioned Biden’s mental capabilities. He does not suggest that Aides is signing Biden’s documents using Autoopen, a device that mechanically replicates signatures.

In June, Trump ordered an investigation by White House lawyers on autopen use during the Biden administration. The GOP-led House Oversight Committee is also under investigation.

In a statement in response to Trump’s orders, Biden said during his presidency that he “decided on pardons, executive orders, legislation and declarations.”

“The suggestion that I didn’t do that is ridiculous and false,” Biden added. “This is just a distraction.”

Ben Carson returns to the Trump White House as a national nutrition advisor

WASHINGTON – Ben Carson, former secretary of President Donald Trump’s first term in Housing and Urban Development, has returned to the Trump administration as national nutrition advisor.

Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, was sworn in September 24th as the Department of Agriculture’s national advisor to nutrition, health and housing. In the newly created role, Carson will oversee Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” Act program aimed at improving health care in rural communities, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said.

“From nutrition to quality of care to ensuring families have access to safe and stable housing, no one is more qualified than Dr. Carson to advise policies that improve the quality of daily life for Americans,” Rollins said in a statement.

The addition of 74-year-old Carson, who ran for Trump in the 2016 presidential primary comes as Trump pushes the nutrition agenda “again with American health” led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“With six in 10 people with at least one chronic condition, Dr. Carson’s insights and experience are important because rural communities face unique challenges when it comes to proper housing,” Rollins said.

Over the weekend, Trump said he plans to award Carson the Presidential Medal, the nation’s highest civilian honor. He surprised Carson with the news when he made comments at an event hosted by the American Cornerstone Institute, which Carson founded.

Trump’s “one big beautiful bill,” passed without democratic support for Republicans in Congress, included a last-minute addition to the $50 billion rural health transformation program to effectively offset the losses that rural health providers could see from other elements of the law.

According to the Non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, approximately 10 million Americans are expected to lose their health insurance under the Tax Reductions and Expenditure Act. This includes 7.5 million people who are projected to lose Medicaid coverage due to changes under the law due to new eligibility requirements.
