Just 25 days ago, the 2026 World Cup kicked off, with 48 teams competing to be the last team to win soccer’s biggest tournament.
After three-and-a-half weeks of play, the tournament is nearing the end of its second knockout stage, with just eight teams competing for the World Cup trophy on Sunday, July 19th at MetLife Stadium.
The quarter-finals already feature two of the top Golden Boot scorers in Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland, who scored all the goals in France and Norway’s last-16 wins over Paraguay and Brazil respectively. There are four spots remaining for Monday’s knockout game, including one for the USMNT against Belgium.
