After a thrilling week of matches in the first Round of 32, the field is ready for the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.
The last 16 will feature some spectacular fixtures, including the Iberian derby between Spain and Portugal and Mexico’s historic draw with England at the Estadio Azteca. The United States, which won the final round for the first time in 24 years, will face Belgium in Seattle in a rematch of the Round of 16 from the 2014 Brazil tournament. After surviving a historic upset, Lionel Messi and the Argentina national team will face Egypt in Atlanta.
Things will get underway on July 4, the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, with Canada playing Morocco in Houston and France taking on Paraguay in Philadelphia.
The winners of the Round of 16 will advance to the quarter-finals, which begin on Thursday, July 9th.
