President Donald Trump helped spread the news that his eldest son is engaged for the third time, but now says he may not be able to attend the wedding.
Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson attended a White House event in December to announce their engagement. Page Six and CNN reported that the wedding is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend in the Bahamas. A representative for Trump Jr. did not immediately respond to a request for confirmation.
President Trump met with reporters in the Oval Office on May 21 and was asked if he planned to attend.
“He wants me to go,” Trump said of his son. “But it’s just a small, small personal thing and I’m going to try to make it work. I was in the middle of it and said, ‘You know this isn’t a good time for me, I have this thing called Iran and all that.’
Trump also said he has known Anderson, a popular Palm Beach socialite, for many years.

President Trump said he planned to attend his son Don Jr.’s wedding this weekend, but insisted the wedding date was not “good timing.”
Anderson is a socialite and model based in Palm Beach, Florida.
She is the daughter of Palm Beach businessman and philanthropist Harry Roy Anderson Jr. and Inger Anderson. According to an obituary in the Palm Beach Daily News, part of the USA TODAY Network, Harry Roy Anderson Jr. also had three daughters and two sons.

Trump Jr. was married to former model Vanessa Trump from 2005 to 2018 and they have five children, including budding golf star Kai Trump. Vanessa Trump is currently dating golf legend Tiger Woods.
Trump Jr. began dating Kimberly Guilfoyle, the ambassador to Greece, in 2018 after his divorce from Vanessa Trump was finalized. The two got engaged and bought a home together in 2021, but separated in 2024 (Guilfoyle was also once married to California Governor Gavin Newsom).

President Trump’s public schedule for Saturday and Sunday does not include a wedding or trip to the Bahamas.
The president will give a speech in Rockland County, New York, on May 22nd, then stay in Bedminster, New Jersey, where he owns a club and golf course, until May 24th.
