Those who received the Supplemental Security Income check will receive their March payment a little earlier.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments are typically issued on the first day of the month, but if the first calendar day of the month is a weekend or holiday, the payments will be issued earlier. According to the Social Security Administration’s calendar, March 1st is a Sunday, so March payments will be made on February 27th.
This is not an unusual situation. Last month, my February SSI check was issued on Friday, January 30th because February 1st fell on a Sunday.
Approximately 7.4 million Americans currently receive monthly SSI payments, the agency said.

What is Supplemental Security Income (SSI)?
Supplemental Security Income, a program administered by the Social Security Administration, provides benefits to people with limited or no income or assets, people age 65 and older, and people who are blind or have a qualifying disability. According to the SSA website, children with eligible disabilities are also eligible for SSI.
Adults who earn more than $2,073 per month from work are generally not eligible for benefits. About one-third of SSI recipients also receive Social Security benefits.
