President Donald Trump accused China of violating tariff contracts with the US in a May 30 social media post after the Treasury Secretary said the negotiations were “stuck.”

“Everyone was happy! That’s good news!!! The bad news is that China is probably not surprising, but completely violating our consent. He said in a true social post on social media platforms.

Two weeks ago, the US and China agreed to dial back triple digit tariffs for 90 days while negotiating the agreement.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent told Fox News Thursday.

US trade representative Jamieson Greer declined to answer a reporter’s question at the White House about progress in trade negotiations with China or whether tariffs will return to 145%.

Temporary ceasefire

A temporary ceasefire has been reached after Trump slapped air tariffs on imports from China to the US and China retaliated in physical form.

In the Post, Trump inaccurately claimed that by agreeing to exchange debates, he saved China from the “significant economic dangers” caused by his tariffs.

“We effectively went to China and the cold turkey. It was devastating for them. Many factories were closed and there was “civil anxiety” to put it calm, Trump argued in the Social Post of Truth.
