A dad’s money-saving Chick-fil-A orders have gone viral with millions of views online after he revealed how his family of five was able to eat at the fast food chain for less than $45.
Pastor and podcaster Jeff Johnson shared the budget-friendly order in a social media video, saying his family is skipping individual meals and instead ordering a 30-piece nugget tray and a few loaves of buttered bread.
“Here’s a hack for every dad out there who’s always thinking, ‘Why am I spending so much money on Chick-fil-A?'” Johnson said in a video posted to Instagram.
Instead of buying sandwich meals for the whole family, Johnson said she ordered a 30-piece nugget entree and three pieces of buttered bread, which she used to make chicken sandwiches for her children.
“Everyone’s happy. Dad’s happy, too,” Johnson said. “We saved so much money. All I’m saying is that you can feed a family of five for less than $45 at Chick-fil-A. Do what I say. That’s all I’m saying. Goodbye.”
The video has garnered millions of views in the week since it was first posted, and Prime Minister Boris Johnson thanked viewers for “spreading the word” in a July 2 video where he boasted to his family about the accomplishment.

How to feed a family of five for under $45
Johnson says it’s simple. He orders a 30-piece nugget entree and buys as much buttered bread as he needs to make a sandwich.
In the video, Johnson said the nuggets cost just over $17 and the buns at 25 cents each at local restaurants, although prices vary by market.
USA TODAY has learned that in Arizona, an order of 30-count nugget mains costs about $19. Regular bread prices were not listed online.
