The US needs more countries to attract immigrants

Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the US is trying to consult with several countries to ensure that people from third countries illegally take in the US.

“We’re working with other countries to say, ‘We want to send you some of the sleazy people to your country,” Rubio said at a cabinet meeting at the White House on April 30th. And the farther the better, they can’t come back across the border. ”

Rubio emphasized that the conversation would be “not just with El Salvador.” He didn’t name the country, but the Washington Post reported earlier this month that there could be as many as 30.

The United States already has this type of agreement with the Salvadoran government. The Salvadoran government has particularly embraced the people of Venezuelans and housed them in the country’s infamous terrorism confinement centre known as CECOT. Among them was Kilmer Abrego Garcia from Maryland.

Rubio said the US is seeking illegally to reclaim its citizens in the country and provide “historical cooperation.”
