This weekend, Taylor Swift, Travis Kelsey, and President Trump are all in the news.

As Swift and Kelsey’s wedding fever engulfs New York City and beyond, Trump found a (blank?) space to insert himself into the holiday weekend frenzy, posting to social media and sharing an image of himself at the center of an Elas Tour-themed political poster.

“It’s been a long time…” the official White House account wrote in a post on Thursday, July 2nd. That day, stars gathered at Madison Square Garden for what was billed as a pre-wedding rehearsal dinner. The caption chosen by the White House is a lyric from Swift’s song “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince.”

In XPost, Trump appears in the center of the poster, surrounded by other historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. “America’s Eras Tour,” reads the text below the image, a nod to Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour.

The 14-time Grammy winner and Super Bowl winner’s star-studded wedding coincides with President Trump’s plans for the nation’s 250th anniversary, which will include a “very long speech” on the National Mall on July 4 in the heat. Organizers said Trump’s remarks will follow a “Salute to America” program and “the largest fireworks display in history.”

It’s unclear whether Swift and Kelsey’s decision to marry on the same weekend as the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence was made as a deliberate attack on the Trump administration, or if the dates just happened to coincide.

Despite President Trump’s plans, Swift’s love story is the only one dominating headlines at home and abroad so far.

Taylor Swift and Trump’s long-running feud

It’s no secret that there is definitely some “bad blood” between Trump and Swift, who have clashed over the years.

Swift endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 general election, saying in an Instagram post that she would vote for a leader who is “calm, not chaotic.” Days after Swift endorsed Harris, Trump wrote on Truth Social: “I hate Taylor Swift.”

Trump himself has frequently targeted the star.

“Has anyone noticed that she hasn’t been ‘hot’ since I said ‘I hate Taylor Swift’?” he wrote on Truth Social in May 2025.
