Suspect arrested in DC pipe bomb investigation on January 6th

Date:

A person suspected of planting a pipe bomb in Washington, D.C., prior to the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot was taken into custody on Thursday, December 4, according to multiple media reports.

According to Reuters and the Associated Press, the pipe bombs were placed near the offices of the Democratic and Republican National Committees on the night of January 5, 2021.

The explosives were discovered on the same day that supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol to try to stop lawmakers from certifying Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election.

No one was injured by the bomb, and the device never detonated before it was discovered.

This is a developing story.
