President Donald Trump’s prime-time address to the nation on Wednesday, Dec. 17, will interrupt regularly scheduled television programming, including the season 49 finale of “Survivor.”

President Trump announced his 9 p.m. ET speech in a post on Truth Social. He did not say what he would discuss or how long his speech was expected to last.

“Well, I look forward to seeing you all. It’s been a great year for our country, and the best is yet to come!” Trump said.

As a result, major television networks will broadcast President Trump’s speech live. Live special reports typically interrupt regularly scheduled programming.

The speech will take place during prime time, so some popular programs will be interrupted. Here’s what we know:

‘Survivor’ is interrupted for Trump speech

CBS has confirmed it will interrupt the Season 49 finale of “Survivor” with special coverage of President Trump’s live speech at 9 p.m.

CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell and White House correspondent Nancy Cordes will anchor and report, respectively, the network said in a release.

“Survivor” will air for three hours starting at 8 p.m. ET, picking up where it left off immediately after President Trump’s speech for viewers in Eastern and Central time zones. According to CBS, the final episode will be aired in its entirety.

“The Floor” final episode broadcast. Will it be canceled due to President Trump’s speech?

“The Floor” will also air a two-hour season finale on December 17th at 8pm ET.

Fox will temporarily suspend broadcasts and resume broadcasting after Trump finishes his comments, a spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY.

Other networks, including ABC and NBC, are scheduled to air holiday programming in prime time on Dec. 17, but it is unclear whether they will pause and resume their content after Trump’s speech. USA TODAY has reached out to both networks for comment.
