Silence descends on the national park

good morning! I’m Daniel de Visé from Daily Money.

There is a small restaurant near the west entrance to Glacier National Park. Employees arrive every morning at 7 a.m. to prepare sandwiches and other fresh grab-and-go food for the day.

But since the Oct. 1 government shutdown, the doorbell has gone silent.

Public housing brand name changed

As the national housing shortage creates a shortage of affordable housing, old ideas are being given a new look.

Housing advocacy groups and some cities and counties support “social housing,” which is government-built and managed housing. But public housing has a troubled history.

Zip codes for the wealthiest countries in the United States

Seven of the 10 most expensive zip codes in the United States are in California, which probably comes as no surprise to many Californians.

A new ranking of the top 100 ZIP codes, measured by home sales price, reaffirms the pedigree of Silicon Valley, Newport Beach and the Hamptons. But most of all, it shows that waterfront addresses are here to stay.
