Rosie O’Donnell slams Trump’s presidency
Rosie O’Donnell believes Trump’s presidency is the “worst thing” for the United States, calling it “an abomination”.
Rosie O’Donnell may have moved to Ireland, but she hasn’t distanced herself from her long-running public feud with President Donald Trump.
In a new interview with People magazine, the comedian likened his decades-long spat with Trump to “20 years of him using me as a punchline.”
Trump and O’Donnell’s feud dates back to 2006, when O’Donnell was the host of “The View.” She criticized Trump as a “snake oil salesman” in connection with his ownership of the then-Miss USA pageant, starting a years-long spat between the two.
In 2025, after President Trump was sworn in for his second term as president, O’Donnell revealed that he moved to Ireland to escape the political situation in the United States. Since then, the president has repeatedly threatened to revoke O’Donnell’s birthright citizenship.

Last year, O’Donnell opened up to the outlet about moving overseas, saying he was “at peace” with “not being constantly bombarded with news about the current president.”
“I think it helped me get back to where I was before everything fell apart, even though it’s very strange that the most powerful man in the world is your nemesis,” she said.
She also hinted at her indifference to the president’s jab, saying: “Before, when the president would say something about me, I was like, oh.”
But O’Donnell also said the situation was hard to believe.
“If you had written this as a movie — a stand-up comic who makes fun of a reality show host who’s a big idiot, and he ends up becoming president, and he doesn’t shut up about her for the next 20 years — it would be unbelievable,” she said. “And the fact that that’s my life is so trippy.”

O’Donnell’s latest comments come weeks after Trump posted a viral video on social media.
In an AI-generated video posted on July 2, Trump appears as a doctor “treating” several celebrities, including O’Donnell, for “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” President Trump has long used the term to describe critics he believes are irrationally opposed to him.
The comedian called President Trump “the worst thing that has ever happened to our country” in a July 8 interview with Variety magazine.
