Pringles unveils three types of buns ahead of National Hot Dog Day

Date:

For National Hot Dog Day, Pringles is taking its signature flavors beyond potato chips and into an unexpected summer staple: hot dog buns.

The snack brand announced the launch of Pringles Pop Dog Buns, a limited-edition line of potato-based hot dog buns infused with three of the company’s fan-favorite flavors: Sour Cream & Onion, BBQ, and Honey Mustard.

“This summer, we’re putting the ‘Once You Pop’ experience front and center,” Mauricio Jenkins, Mars North America’s Salty Snacks Brand & Content Lead, said in a news release. “We wanted to take something everyone knows and completely transform it into an exciting new snacking experience.”

How to buy Pringles Pop Dog Buns

Fans will have two opportunities to get their hands on the limited-edition buns: July 8th and July 15th, National Hot Dog Day.

The buns are available through OnceYouPopMarket.com, Pringles’ online marketplace, and are free with the purchase of a 3-pack of Pringles for $6.97. The 3-pack includes Pringles Sour Cream & Onion, Honey Mustard, and Barbecue Chips.

What flavor does it have?

Pringles offers three types of flavored breads.

  • Pringles Sour Cream & Onion Pop Dog Buns: Potato-based buns infused with the zesty and creamy flavor of classic crisps.
  • Pringles BBQ Pop Dog Buns: A smoky, slightly sweet bun inspired by the flavors of a backyard barbecue.
  • Pringles Honey Mustard Pop Dog Buns: Blending the sweetness of honey with the tang of mustard for a bold twist on the traditional hot dog bun.

Why Pringles is launching flavored breads

The product is part of Pringles’ new ‘Once You Pop’ campaign, which aims to reimagine everyday foods through the lens of the brand’s iconic flavors.

“With our new ‘Once You Pop’ campaign, our mission is to continue delivering the unexpected to our fans,” Jenkins said in a release. “We’re reimagining the plain, bland bun and turning it into a highly flavorful experience worthy of the iconic can.”

The launch follows a growing trend of brands creating limited-edition food mash-ups and novelty products designed to turn heads during the summer grilling season. For Pringles fans, that means one thing. That means hot dogs may never taste the same again.
