Donald Trump shares TruthSocial video that makes President Obama look like a monkey
President Donald Trump shared a video on Truth Social depicting former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as monkeys.
President Donald Trump may not be attending this year’s Super Bowl, but he’s still taking part in one of the big game traditions.
A prerecorded interview with the president will be broadcast on NBC prior to the game, the network previously announced.
The interview, conducted by NBC news anchor Tom Lamas, was filmed at the White House on February 4, four days before the NFL’s biggest night.
Portions of the interview aired Feb. 4, first on “NBC Nightly News” and then on NBC News NOW’s “Top Stories with Tom Llama.”
The segment, which will air during NBC’s Super Bowl pregame show on February 8, will feature additional interviews that have not yet aired.
It’s a tradition during Super Bowl week for the station, which broadcasts the big game, to interview the sitting president.

Presidential interviews are a Super Bowl week tradition
Ever since CBS interviewed former President George W. Bush during Super Bowl week in 2004, it has been a tradition for the network hosting the game to speak with the president.
President Barack Obama continued this practice throughout his two terms in office, but Trump and former President Joe Biden consistently did not participate in interviews during Super Bowl week throughout the four years of their respective terms.
During Trump’s first term as president, he gave interviews three times in four years, on Fox in 2017 and 2020 and on CBS in 2019. When NBC hosted the Super Bowl in 2018, he chose not to hold a sit-in.
Biden participated in interviews during Super Bowl week in 2021 and 2022, but was absent in 2023 and 2024.
As for President Trump’s second term so far, he was interviewed on Fox last year before the Super Bowl.
President Trump will not attend this year’s Super Bowl
Trump is a longtime friend of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, but he has no plans to attend a team game in person this year.
He said in a January 23 interview with the New York Post that the fight was “too far away.” This year’s Super Bowl will be held on February 8th at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers, in Santa Clara, California.
The president also told the outlet he was dissatisfied with musical performers, including prominent Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny and rock band Green Day, who have criticized President Trump.
“I’m against them,” the president said, but stressed that was not a reason to avoid the match. “I think it’s a terrible choice. It just instills hatred. It’s terrible.”
Last year, Trump became the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl. It was held in New Orleans.
