Peloton recalls 833,000 bikes + units after broken seatpost causes injury
Peloton is recalling 833,000 original Bike+ units manufactured between 2019 and 2022 after reports of a broken seatpost that injured two people.

More than 800,000 Peloton stationary bikes have been recalled due to parts that could break and cause injury.
Peloton, the exercise media and exercise equipment brand that exploded in popularity in 2021, began a recall of certain bikes sold in the United States and Canada on November 6, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
According to Health Canada, about 833,000 recalled bicycles were sold in the United States and an additional 44,800 in Canada.
According to the recall, bicycle seat post assemblies can break during use, putting users at risk of falls and injury. As of Nov. 6, Peloton has received three reports of injuries caused by broken bicycle seatposts in the United States.

Which Peloton bikes are subject to recall?
- Peloton Original Series Bike+ unit model number PL02 and serial number starting with the letter “T”.
The bike is 4 feet long and 2 feet wide with an adjustable seat and handlebars. To find your bike’s serial number, look inside the front fork, behind the front fork, or behind the flywheel.
The recalled bikes were sold from January 2020 to April 2025 at Peloton and Dicks Sporting Goods stores nationwide and online at onepeloton.com, eBay, Amazon and DicksSportingGoods.com for approximately $2,495.
What to do if you have a recalled Peloton bike
This problem can be resolved with at-home repairs. If you own a recalled bike, stop using it immediately and contact Peloton to receive a free seatpost that you can install yourself.
