Oreo Maker sues Aldi over suspected copycat package
Oreo Maker and Snack giant Mondelez are suing grocery chain Aldi over allegations that the chain’s store-branded products are “blatantly copying” famous cookies.

Two iconic brands team up to create not one but two new products for fans to enjoy.
Reese and Oreo announced on Wednesday, July 30th that they were introducing Reese’s Oreo Cup and Oreo Reese cookies.
The Oreo Cups from Wreath will be available on pre-sale at Hershey’s store starting Monday, August 18th, served with milk chocolate, a White Cream Peanut Butter Cup and Oreo Cookie Breadcrumbs. Presentele orders will begin shipping the week of September 2nd. Fans can sign up for first access as soon as it is published.
According to a news release, customers will start seeing Reese’s Oreo cups at retailers nationwide from September 2025, and will be available in King sizes, standard sizes and miniature cups. They will be permanently added to the lease portfolio.
Like Reese’s Oreo Cup, Oreo Reese cookies will also be available before pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-apps from August 18th, and fans can also sign up for Early Access from July 30th.

Oreo Reese cookies feature Oreo Chocolate Sandwich cookies filled with Reese’s peanut butter cream filled with Oreo cookie crumbs, and will be available nationwide from September 2025, but consumables will continue. According to the company, cookies will return to the shelves in January 2026 as part of the Oreo brand portfolio.
“This collaboration redefines what it means to be a snack leader by making use of exactly what fans want,” said Michel Deignan, vice president of the US Oreo brand, in a news release. “As a brand that was over 110 years old, we are always looking for ways to disrupt the snack market. A better way to show our fans is listening to the evolving snack needs rather than partnering with the Leased brand to offer a dream collaboration.”
