Nicki Minaj says she’s not denying her support for Trump
President Donald Trump hosted the Trump Account Summit, where Nicki Minaj and other CEOs and companies pledged support.
Nicki Minaj revealed she received the so-called Trump “Gold Card,” which offers applicants a path to residency and U.S. citizenship, after appearing at an event promoting President Donald Trump’s government-backed investment account for infants.
Minaj showed off a card with President Trump’s face on it in an X thread with the caption “Welp.” She added in a follow-up post, “Following my wonderful, benevolent, charming President, I am completing my citizenship papers as we speak.” And “Gold Trump Card Free”.
Minaj described herself as “probably the president’s biggest fan” at an event on January 28, adding: “Hate and people’s opinions don’t affect me at all.”
“I came to this country as an illegal immigrant at the age of 5,” Minaj said in a 2018 Facebook post, but added in a since-deleted comment on the thread that published the card: “Residency? This is not about residency. I’ve had it for decades.”
According to Billboard, Minaj was born in Trinidad.
According to the government’s card page, the Trump Gold Card is a visa that requires a $150,000 DHS processing fee and a $1 million gift.
USA TODAY has reached out to Minaj’s representative to confirm that the card was received as a gift and to clarify her current legal status.

Minaj turned to the MAGA movement as her rap career languished.
When she spoke with Erica Kirk, Charlie Kirk’s widow, at Turning Point USA’s America Fest in December, she turned heads. “You have great role models like assassin J.D. Vance, our vice president,” Minaj awkwardly told Kirk. Kirk’s husband, a popular far-right commentator, was assassinated in a Utah campus shooting in September.
In November, Minaj publicly praised President Trump after he announced possible military action against the Nigerian government for “murdering Christians.” She then joined President Trump’s U.N. Ambassador Mike Walz on Nov. 18 to discuss the issue.
Trump said at an event on January 28 that he was a fan of Minaj. President Trump mentioned his long nails, adding, “I love those nails, so I’m going to let them grow.” “I’ll grow those claws!”
