The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Amazon could be held liable for recalls of defective products.

Nail remover sold on Amazon has been recalled because it has been found to contain harmful chemicals that could pose a serious health risk.
Methylene chloride and chloroform in Moroban Gel Nail Polish Remover (15 mL) are of concern because they have been shown to cause cancer in animals and are likely to be harmful to human health, according to a recall notice issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on April 13.
According to the recall notice, methylene chloride is a prohibited ingredient and is not allowed in cosmetics at any level under FDA regulations.
Approximately 4,000 vehicles are affected by the recall. This product was sold on Amazon.com from August 2025 to January 2026.

What is the recalled nail polish remover?
The recall notice describes the product as a nail polish remover used to quickly, safely and gently remove gel nail polish and builder gel. According to the recall notice, the product comes in a 15 mL (0.5 fluid ounce) square turquoise bottle with a white cap and a matching green packaging box.
Manufactured in China, production date is February 7, 2024, and expiration date is February 7, 2027.
What should consumers do?
Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled nail polish remover and to clearly write the word “recalled” on the bottle and outer box of the product. Additionally, consumers are asked to dispose of the entire product, including the bottle and remaining contents, as normal household waste in accordance with local waste disposal regulations.
Consumers are also asked to take a photo of their discarded product displaying the “recall” label and the product itself and email the image to the company’s customer service team at customer-service@morovan.com for verification.
No injuries or accidents related to the recall have been reported.
