Live Update: Trump claims to us a “disappeared” Iranian nuclear site. The world is waiting for a response from Khamenei

Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Centre, will meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi in Moscow, Russia on Monday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi in Moscow on Monday as Israeli forces continued to attack Tehran. The Russian leader condemned the US attack on Iran and reassured the Iranian delegation that Iranian people could rely on Russia for their support.

A short video released by the Kremlin shows Putin meeting an Iranian delegation in a gorgeous room, accompanied by his foreign minister Sergei Lavrov and Yury Ushakov, a top-level aide to Washington and former Russian ambassador.

Putin told Aragichi he had called President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, United Arab Emirates President Mohamed Al Nahyan and Iranian President Masaud Pezeshkian.

He had not determined the timing of these conversations, and the Kremlin said on Sunday that Putin had no plans to talk to Trump after the US attacked Iran.

Aragut thanked Putin for his support, saying that Russia is “on the right side of history.”

He also welcomed the close ties between Tehran and Moscow, saying that he has “gets even closer in recent years.”

Details of Iran-Russia Alliance: Iran was one of Russia’s strongest supporters after Putin began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The Iranian regime supplied Russia with weapons, including short-range ballistic missiles and thousands of Shahed drones.

Moscow has been supported by Iran after the conflict with Israel and the US attacks.

“In relation to the nuclear program, Russia is our partner and they helped us. Russia was also present during nuclear talks and they played an important role,” Aragut said.

Russia is still being built to operate the Buscher Power Plant in southern Iran, the only nuclear power plant in the country. Last week, Putin said there were around 200 Russian experts at the facility and thanked Israel for agreeing to “ensure” their safety.
