Krispy Kreme lovers fry their donuts in a pan to get a crispy outer layer.
The inspiration for Krispy Kreme’s newest flavor comes from Girl Scout Cookies.
The donut and coffeehouse chain is launching three new donuts inspired by Girl Scout cookies, available for a limited time at participating locations nationwide starting Tuesday, July 7.
The donuts can be purchased individually or sold by the dozen and are “perfect to share with friends, take to the office, or just treat yourself,” according to a company news release.
“Girl Scout Cookie flavors are iconic for a reason,” said Alison Holder, Krispy Kreme’s chief brand and product officer, in a statement. “Reimagining them as donuts is a fun way to bring a familiar favorite to fans in a completely new and truly engaging way.”
The arrival of donuts may satisfy cookie lovers’ cravings for the annual treat. This is because Girl Scout Cookies are usually sold in the off-season from January to April, but local drop times vary by troop.
New limited time lineup of Girl Scout Cookie Donuts
The new limited-time Girl Scout Cookie Inspire Dozen includes three new recruits:
- thin mint donut: Original glazed donuts dipped in chocolate icing, topped with Thin Mint cookie crumbles and dark chocolate chips, and sprinkled with mint green icing.
- Lemon ups donuts: Unglazed shell donuts are filled with lemon crisp cream filling and dipped in lemon-flavored icing, creating a bright lemon-inspired design.
- Coconut caramel donut: Original glazed donuts dipped in chocolate icing and topped with coconut and caramel (inspired by Samoan Cookies and Caramel Delight Cookies).
In addition to finding Girl Scout cookie-inspired donuts in-store, you may be able to purchase a six-pack containing three Thin Mint donuts and three Original Glazed donuts at select retailers. To find a retailer or Krispy Kreme store near you, use the Krispy Kreme online locator.
