Restaurant Kidlock was among several others in Nashville, owned by a conservative restaurateur and Donald Trump supporter Steve Smith.
Restaurant – Its full name is Kidlock’s big butt Honky Ton Clock and Roll Steakhouse, licensed by right-wing musician Kidlock. He has also become one of the US president’s best supporters, but according to the Nashville Sheen, he is reportedly struggling to serve on Saturday nights after an order from a manager directing employee guidance.
“At about 9:30pm on Saturday, the manager returned and told anyone without legal status to go home,” an anonymous employee told the outlet.
“The events at Ryman, Ascend and Savannah Bananas’ baseball games were all on. It was busy. But there was no one in the kitchen to cook food.”
Like Kid Rock, Smith has cultivated a reputation as a conservative voice, fighting Covid-19 restrictions and supporting Trump with campaign contributions. However, the episode appeared to suggest that his facilities, including Diner and Honky Tonk Central, were partially dependent on undocumented labor that the president had vowed to expel from the United States.
An aggressive immigration sweep began on May 3rd. This began when ice vehicles, not marked state troopers, dramatically increased traffic stops across South Nashville. According to a press release from the Department of Homeland Security, the operation has won at least 196 arrests.

The disruption in Nashville services continued until Sunday as the horrible workers chose to stay home rather than risk detention.
Nashville officials, including the mayor and multiple Metro councillors, condemned the attack, but City Legal Director Wallace Deetz said local governments were “powerless” against state and federal immigration enforcement measures.

According to Kidlock’s Rolling Stone profile, at his concert he opposed “open borders” and reflected Trump’s rhetoric on immigration.
In 2019, the second restaurant licensed by Kidlock in Detroit was closed amid backlash against his video making blasphemed comments about Oprah Winfrey while appearing to be drunk at an event in Nashville. The Illicci family, who owned the arena where the restaurant was housed, announced that Robert Richie, Kid Rock, has “decided not to voluntarily renew the licensing agreement for Kid Rock, manufactured in Detroit.
