Kayla Nicole appears to be throwing shade at ex Travis Kelce in Halloween post

Date:

Model Kayla Nicole’s Halloween costume was in the spotlight this year, but many were paying special attention to the song she used to show off the outfit on social media.

The influencer and sports journalist flaunted her look as R&B soul singer Toni Braxton in an Instagram post on Friday, Oct. 31, recreating part of the iconic music video for her track “He Wasn’t Man Enough.”

“She’s an icon. A legend,” Nicole said of Braxton in the caption of her post.

While many commenters praised the song choice, some wondered if the lyrics were a subtle dig at Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, who is engaged to her.

A song from Braxton’s 2000 album The Heat includes the lyrics, “Do you know I left your husband, your girlfriend?” “You know how he begged to be with me? He wasn’t good enough for me.”

According to People magazine, Kelsey and Nicole dated for about five years starting in 2017.

Did Nicole comment on Swift Kelce’s engagement?

Nicole has not commented on her ex-girlfriend’s engagement to the Grammy Award winner.

During a New York Fashion Week event on September 11, she dismissed a question from the Daily Mail about the engagement news, People magazine reported. She also addressed the amount of online hate she has faced this year in an interview with People.

“Other people’s opinions are only as big as you say them,” she told the outlet. “So if I don’t allow it to affect me, it simply doesn’t affect me.”

Nicole dressed up as another R&B icon last year

Nicole also went all out for Halloween last year, dressing up as another R&B icon.

Last October, she wore a fur coat and swimsuit to reenact her “Ride” music video, showing off her appearance as “Goodies” singer Ciara.

“Ciara…uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!” she wrote.
