Top fast food chain report: Jersey Mike’s ranks first
After 11 years in business, Chick-fil-A is no longer the top-rated quick-service restaurant, according to the U.S. Customer Satisfaction Index.
Jersey Mike’s, the New Jersey-based sub shop that recently topped the list of top-rated quick-service restaurants for the first time, is opening more locations.
Jersey Mike’s, which has more than 3,300 stores in the U.S., announced plans to open more stores in states including California, Arkansas and Illinois, after dethroning Chick-fil-A after 11 years at the top of the U.S. customer satisfaction rankings.
USA TODAY reached out to Jersey Mike’s on Wednesday, June 17, to find out when and where the new store will open, but did not immediately receive a response. However, the chain’s website on Thursday, June 18, indicated multiple restaurants were in development.
Here’s what we know about Jersey Mike’s new store opening.
Where will Jersey Mike’s open a new restaurant?
According to the Jersey Mike’s website, there are a little more than 130 Jersey Mike’s stores in development, most of them in California, New York and Texas.
A Jersey Mike’s store in Manteca, California, is scheduled to open on June 24, Manteca Mayor Gary Shinn told USA TODAY this week.
Another Jersey Mike’s restaurant will open in White Lake, Michigan, about 80 miles northwest of Detroit, Sean P. O’Neal, community development director for White Lake Township, confirmed to USA TODAY this week. O’Neill said June 18 that construction should begin within the next few weeks.
“We expect this location to be open for business in the winter or spring of 2027,” he added.
In Folsom, California, city officials confirmed they have received plans to build a Jersey Mike’s in the Alder Creek Marketplace shopping center on Alder Creek Parkway. Construction on three of the commercial shell buildings could be completed as early as December 2026, city spokeswoman Christine Brainard told USA TODAY on June 18.
Although dates were not shared, USA TODAY confirmed with officials in the following cities that Jersey Mike’s locations are coming to their cities: Bedford, New Hampshire; Brunswick, Maryland. Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Cortlandville and Greenport, New York; Council Bluffs, Iowa. El Dorado County, California. Kannapolis, North Carolina. Minnetonka, Minnesota. Post Falls, Idaho. Princeton, Illinois. and Sheridan, Wyoming.
