Car Recall: Why They Will and What Should You Know
Why does a car recall occur? Here’s what you need to know if your car has an open recall:
General Motors recalls more than 40,000 electric Chevrolet Bleather vehicles due to braking issues that could lead to crashes.
In a recall issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, GM said that the rear parking brakes on wire harnesses of some SUVs could be “damaged or corroded, leading to unintended activation of parking brakes or loss of parking brake function.”
The recall affects 40,233 electric SUVs.
According to GM, four customers complained that they were experiencing receiving a “service parking brake” message on their vehicles and not being able to travel from the park while they were trying to drive.

- 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV
- 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV
When will I be notified if there is a recall in Chevrolet?
The owner’s notification letter is expected to be mailed by August 11th, according to the NHTSA.
Dealers inspected the harness and rerouted the harnesses if necessary, written by the federal agency in an announcement dated June 26th.
