Spam has released a new product perfect for summer dog days.
The canned meat brand is now making hot dogs, the company announced on its website.
The company describes SpamDog as a “reimagining of the classic hot dog” that brings the flavor of Spam to a new format.
“One of the most exciting convenience food innovations in years, the Spam Dog combines two American culinary icons into one bold, unexpected bite,” Spam wrote on its website.
Spamdog will officially debut at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago from May 16th to 19th of this year.
Where to get spam dogs
Spam is known for its canned meat, but the brand announced it is moving away from canned meat for its new hot dogs.
At least for now, Spam Dogs won’t be in stores. Spam said the hot dog is designed for food service businesses such as restaurants, convenience stores and stadiums.
Currently, fans can try Spamdog at the following locations across the country:
- Rutter’s Convenience Store in the Northeast
- CHS Field in St. Paul, Minnesota
- Some ABC and 7-Eleven stores in Hawaii
The company said it plans to roll out SpamDog to more locations and vendors throughout the summer.
