Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Parris Campbell says this is his career at age 28.

Although Campbell did not announce his decision, the Cowboys officially moved the veteran receiver to the reserve/retired list on May 27.

Campbell played seven seasons in the NFL after being drafted in the second round by the Indianapolis Colts out of Ohio State. He didn’t play much in his first three seasons, but made his breakthrough in the 2022 season on the eve of free agency, recording 63 catches, 623 yards, and three touchdowns, all career highs.

Since that campaign, Campbell has appeared in just 18 total games with three different teams throughout the NFC East tour: the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Cowboys.

Campbell spent most of the 2025 season on Dallas’ practice squad. The veteran appeared in just one game with the team, playing two offensive snaps and six special teams snaps without recording any statistics.

The Cowboys signed Campbell to a reserve/future contract after the season to keep him on the 90-man roster. He was slated to be on the veteran floor on a one-year deal, but he faced a struggle building a receiver room in Dallas that already included established players like CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Kavonte Turpin, Ryan Flournoy and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

As such, Campbell will ride off into the sunset with just under $10.7 million in career earnings, totaling 123 catches for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns in 50 games (27 starts), according to Spotrac.com.
