The United States Postal Service has tapped renowned American designer Ralph Lauren to create a collection of stamps to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary.

“American Icons,” a collection of 13 commemorative stamps, “celebrates the shared national values ​​and enduring spirit that has defined the American experience for two and a half centuries,” the Postal Service said in a May 12 news release.

This collaboration marks the first time that the USPS has invited individuals to curate a complete stamp issue.

“For nearly 60 years, Ralph Lauren has influenced American style with an enduring creative vision deeply rooted in the tapestry of American tradition, landscape, culture, and artistry,” the USPS said in a release, adding that Lauren is “a profound witness to the creativity, determination, and limitless possibilities of the American Dream.”

USPS “American Icons” Collection

The Postal Service’s “American Icons” stamp collection includes 13 photographs selected from Loren’s archives and “visuals that inspired him and reflected the unique fabric of this country that stands for freedom, independence, equality, opportunity, and the pursuit of happiness,” according to a news release. Design includes:

  • American Flag, Standard of Freedom, Resilience, Unity, and Courage
  • The baseball glove used by Jackie Robinson is a timeless symbol of equality, teamwork and perseverance
  • A worn and weathered pickup truck evokes hard-working integrity
  • Loyal dog, always adhere to loyalty and trust
  • The Empire State Building stands as a landmark of possibility and ingenuity.
  • Barn, forever a metaphor for practicality, purpose, and community
  • Niomi Glass’s Diné (Navajo) blankets celebrate the beauty of traditional art.
  • Teddy bears represent compassion, kindness and comfort
  • Lighthouses shine as beacons of guidance, hope, and optimism.
  • The hamburger is the centerpiece of American family dinners and the celebrations that unite us.
  • Racing yachts capture the passionate energy of competition
  • Rampage horses embody the spirit of independence and freedom that we all strive for.

Each of the 12 stamps includes the words “American Icons,” “USA,” and “FOREVER.”

Meanwhile, the 13th stamp is one of the knitted flags designed by Ralph Lauren and reads “1776 to 2026.”

How to get Ralph Lauren USPS stamps

According to the USPS, the “American Icon” stamps will be issued in packs of 13. Because the stamps are eternal stamps, they will always have the same value as the current price of an ounce of first-class mail, USPS said.

Starting June 9, customers will be able to purchase stamps in person at most post offices nationwide, online or by phone at 844-737-7826.

Stamps can also be ordered through USA Philatelic, the only official supplier of the United States Postal Service’s complete line of current stamps and stamp products. Officially licensed stamp products are available on Amazon.

Commemorative capsule collection

To celebrate the stamp, Ralph Lauren will launch a commemorative capsule collection on June 9th at select retailers and online at RalphLauren.com. The collection includes an American flag sweater, a classic polo shirt, and a 2026 American flag stamp reimagined as a ball cap.
