Burger King upgrades the Whopper. USA TODAY Check out Mike Snider’s review.
Burger King has relaunched its iconic Whopper sandwich for the first time in 10 years with a new box, improved bun and mayonnaise.
Burger King customers who aren’t satisfied with their Whopper can now get another one for free.
On July 20, the fast food chain announced the Whopper Guarantee, a new initiative aimed at ensuring customers are satisfied when ordering Burger King’s signature burger.
As part of the Whopper Guarantee, if a customer isn’t satisfied with their Whopper, they can have it remade on the spot and get another one for free, Burger King said in a press release.
Burger King has also launched a “reimagined restaurant manager role” known as “Your Way Champion.” The chain says they will act as dedicated contact personnel in recognizable uniforms who can resolve guest issues.
The new initiative comes as Burger King seeks increased feedback from guests. In February, the company released President Tom Curtis’ phone number so guests could call or text him.
Here’s what you need to know about the Whopper Guarantee and how customers can get a free burger.
Unsatisfied with the Whopper? Here’s how to get it for free
As part of the new Whopper Guarantee, if Burger King customers aren’t satisfied with their Whopper, they can have it remade or get another one for free.
To redeem a free Whopper, customers simply scan the QR code inside the Whopper box. According to Burger King, they will receive a unique six-digit code to redeem their classic Whopper.
Burger King said it launched the Whopper Guarantee and Your Way Champion initiatives after consistent feedback from guests who wanted restaurant staff to quickly resolve issues when needed.
“When we asked our guests where we could improve, we received a lot of honest feedback, and now it’s our responsibility to act on it,” Curtis said in a statement.
Burger King recently upgraded its Whopper
The Whopper was recently upgraded for the first time in 10 years.
In February, Burger King announced it was revamping its burgers with a “higher-quality, better-tasting bun” and new mayonnaise. It can also be served with lettuce, pickles, onions, and tomatoes.
It also announced a new box for its iconic burger in an attempt to resolve complaints about crushed burgers.
“Are you one of the people who asked me why my Whopper broke?” Curtis asked in a video posted to Instagram in February. “I think I have a solution.”
