The country music legend has opened the first Tennessean Travel Stop location in Cornersville, Tennessee.
Buc-ee, the Texas-based convenience store chain’s signature buck-toothed mascot, will be donning a red hat and heading to two more states this August.
Stores in Arkansas and Texas are expected to open in the coming months, including an Aug. 12 opening in San Marcos, Texas, Buc-ee media manager Chrissy Gonzalez confirmed in an email to USA TODAY on Monday, June 29.
The company typically announces job openings on its Facebook page. Recent announcements include the company’s first Ohio store, which opened in Huber Heights on April 6, and its first Arizona store, which opened in Goodyear on June 22.
Buc-ee’s chose Arizona for its next location because of the state’s “economic momentum” and strong workforce, city officials said in a June 25 news release.
The store opening is part of an expansion plan for Buc-ee’s, known for its gas pumps, clean bathrooms, barbecue sandwiches and specialty snacks. According to the company’s website, store openings are planned over the next five years.
Buc-ee’s declined to comment when asked by USA TODAY on Monday, June 29, about the address of the store, which will open in August.

Where will Buc-ee open next?
As of June 29, the company had 56 locations in 13 states, most of them in Texas, where it first opened in 1982.
Gonzalez told USA TODAY on June 29 that the new stores, scheduled to open in 2026, will be:
- San Marcos, Texas – August 12th
- Benton, AR – August 17th
- Murfreesboro, Tennessee – November 16th
According to the company’s website, the following new store openings are also planned:
- Ruston, Louisiana – 2027
- Kansas City, Kansas – 2027
- Gallaway, Tennessee – 2027
- St. Lucie, Florida – 2027
- Bern, Texas – 2027
- Monroe County, Georgia – 2027
- Mebane, NC – 2028
- Lafayette, Louisiana – 2028
- Ocala, Florida – 2029
- West Memphis, AR – 2029
- Oak Grove, Kentucky – 2029
- Hardeeville, South Carolina – 2031
