Primož Roglič (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) lost 1:30 to his Giro d’Italia general classification rivals on stage 15 to Asiago, slipping to tenth, 3:53 down on Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates-XRG).
His hopes of overall victory appear gone, with his Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe team openly admitting that his injuries could mean Roglič is pulled from the Giro on medical grounds.
Ineos Grenadiers leaders Egan Bernal and Thymen Arensman came away from stage 15 of the Giro d’Italia with nothing lost, but ultimately little gained, despite attempting to make the race hard on multiple occasions.
After losing time on some of their rivals on stage 14, Ineos were one of the teams who were a candidate to try and shake things up once more on the Monte Grappa on Sunday, and they lived up to expectation, with Bernal attacking near the top of the climb.

Terry and Chris Wells consider themselves veteran travelers, usually traveling abroad several times each year. However, this is the first year their summer trips are not to international destinations.
The Georgia-based couple had planned a trip to Seoul this August – even booking a hotel – when “all” urged them to rethink US politics and the intensification of conflict with other countries.
Wells doesn’t believe she and her husband, 56, are not safe in Seoul, but “too much is happening” in the political situation that makes her uncomfortable. “I don’t really know. I’m just anxious and I’m rarely anxious,” she said.
Wells aren’t the only ones who hesitate to identify themselves as Americans abroad. More and more American travelers are worried about facing hostility overseas. Their American labels are worried that they will not be welcomed by others who have been inflamed by President Donald Trump’s comments and policies.
Some are worried, others are embarrassed by their connection to the unstable political landscape of America.
A survey by Global Rescue in April found 72% of 11,000 respondents (most Canadian and the US-based, who believe Americans will be “a more negatively recognized overseas in 2025 due to recent US international policy proposals.” This concern follows recent US foreign policy moves and an outspoken president who has stoked tensions with other countries, from trade wars to tough immigration policies to famous deportations, along with rhetoric about Greenland and Canada’s annexation.
When some foreigners turn to boycott the US, American travelers wonder how far stigma will go when traveling internationally.
“We proudly wore our July 4th T-shirt with the American flag overseas, and there was no problem,” Wells said. “Undoubtedly (now) – it’s like wearing a target on our backs.”
According to Expedia’s summer travel outlook, domestic travel and nearby holidays like the Caribbean are expected to thrive this summer, but not all Americans have given up on massive international travel. Searches for long distance destinations like Italy, Spain and Japan have risen, and travel platforms have found that perennial tropical regions of Cancun, Mexico and Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic, remain strong among Americans.
But when Americans are abroad, they are cautious about how they were once seen at the new border, if they even mention where they came from. Alicia Walter, 29, and Nate Stark, 41, have traveled the world for the past five years. Just recently they noticed a new kind of reaction from people who learned they were Americans. Since the November election, conversations with locals have often been turning to Trump. The subjects mentioned by couples tend to induce strong opinions.
When a full-time travel content creator who shares a trip as a passport couple was in Santa Severa, a quaint Italian village in early May, locals asked why they were visiting and wondered if they were “trying to escape Trump.” The couple politely laughed at it.
“Every time we say we’re from America now, it seems like it’s back to (Trump).
The couple said political discourse would not be stressed or tense when they travel abroad, even if it was safe, but they would guide the topic from introducing themselves as Californians and talking directly about the United States. “We don’t draw unnecessary attention to the fact that we are Americans.”
They do their best to drive diving into political debate and keep it polite. “We’re always trying to avoid conversation,” Walter said. “We’re very Vag about our reaction.”
Other travelers take a bold approach. Alessandra Riao, a tour guide based in Naples, Italy, said the Americans she works for are “really worried” about how Europeans react to them. Last month, two American visitors told her they thought they were wearing a pin that read, “I didn’t vote for him.”
However, Riao added that he has not yet seen or heard local people react negatively to tourists. “Napolitans are famously welcoming, and political differences rarely get in the way of personal connections,” she said. “The concerns are realistic before travelling, but experiences of urban warmth and openness usually decay,” she noted in part because many people’s livelihoods depend on tourism.
Jack Napton, a traveler from Tahoe, California, had similar experiences to what Liao reported on his trip to several European countries in April. In advance, he was worried that it was not just tourists, but Americans who were worried about possible repulsions. He was most “worried” about visiting Spain after reading several articles about the country’s movement against overtourism, including locals spraying water guns in protest.
After exploring Barcelona, Spain, Napton was surprised by the lack of political discourse. “I just heard there might be anti-Trump sentiment,” Napton, 79, said after the trip. “I was on two different tours with people from multiple countries and there was no political story at all.”
In Athens, Greece, one of the Napton taxi drivers spoke about Trump, “It’s all.” But with an open mind, Napton was not angry at the polite conversation, even in the opinions he opposed. In fact, he said, that’s why he likes to travel.
Even when locals raised Trump, Stark and Walter looked back on why they were offensive. They believe that Americans feel that political topics are “taboo conversations” compared to people from other cultures. “If someone says that’s a possibility of a heated conversation, just like a stranger on the street,” Walter said.
However, the couple has no plans to curb international travel. “Even in countries we’ve visited, in countries with more political tensions with us, they’ve still been very welcoming as tourists,” Stark said.

Palantir’s first quarter results were impressive, with revenues rising 39% year-on-year to $884 million. The company’s US revenue grew even faster at 55% year-on-year, and now accounts for almost 71% of the overall business. In particular, US commercial operations exceeded annual revenue occupancy of $1 billion in the first quarter.
Palantir’s Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) is positioned to provide leading ontology (a digital framework that links the organization’s digital and real-world assets) and AI-powered operating systems for commercial enterprises and government agencies.
Unlike other AI players that focus on developing advanced basic models, Palantir mainly focuses on AI implementation, transforming the capabilities of large-scale language models into business outcomes. AIP enables enterprise autonomy and helps clients build autonomous AI agents for various tasks.
Recruiting customers for company offerings is strong. Walgreens Boots Alliance automates the decision to approximately 384 billion stores in 4,000 stores in eight months, while American International Group expects its five-year combined annual growth rate (CAGR) to double after adopting Palantir’s technology.
Therefore, despite trading at a very rich valuation of 208x advance revenue, the AI strategy and strong customer demand focused on the implementation of Palantir offers a very long-term, long-term opportunity for retail investors.
Soundhondound ai’s (NASDAQ: soun) Recent revenue performance has also been excellent. Revenues are up 151% year-on-year to $29.1 million, with no customers making up more than 10% of total revenue, so the company is building a high-growth and diversified business.
Soundhound has created a sustainable, competitive moat with its own multimodal and multilingual Polaris Foundation model that supports 30 languages, providing 4x latency, twice the accuracy of a noisy environment, and 35% superior word error rates. As a result, the company is well suited to capture a share in the global voice and voice recognition market, estimated to increase from $19.1 billion in 2025 to $81.6 billion by 2030.
Additionally, the strategic acquisitions of Synq3, Allset and Amelia’s Soundhound have expanded the company’s reach to almost 13,000 restaurants, opening up some vertically new cross-seller opportunities. The company recently introduced a voice commerce ecosystem that integrates conversational AI capabilities into the vehicle, allowing hands-free orders from restaurants while driving. This feature has attracted a lot of interest from automakers and could be a significant revenue stream over the next few years.
Soundhound shares have fallen nearly 60% from their all-time high in December 2024. Coupled with multiple tailwinds, this discount seems to be the right time to buy this stock.
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Player Uipath Stock (NYSE: Pass) Currently, it has fallen by nearly 86% from its record high in May 2021. Despite its strong fundamentals, the company is struggling with the current uncertain macroeconomic environment.
In its recent revenue results (ends January 31st in the fourth quarter of 2025), UIPATH revenues were slightly below analyst estimates, primarily due to the timing of the closing of government operations.
However, Uipath’s strategic pivots for agent AI can prove to be a critical catalyst in the long term. Some of its Agent AI products, including Agent Builder, Agent Orchestration, Agent Testing, and more, have already seen strong adoption trends. With Agent Builder, approximately 3,000 agents were added to the workflow, creating mission-critical processes.
Agent orchestration helps professional agents, robots, and people to perform goal-based tasks. Agent testing also helps software testers improve productivity with agents. This approach, combining AI agents with traditional RPA, is a key differentiator for the company.
Uipath also boasts robust customer metrics. It has a total dollar-based retention rate and a 110% dollar-based net retention rate in the fourth quarter. Additionally, total customer numbers remained flat year-on-year, but recurring revenue (ARR) of over $1 million per year rose 10% year-on-year, with 30% more people spending more than $5 million in the fourth quarter.
Finally, Uipath also has a robust balance sheet with $1.7 billion in cash and zero debt.
Despite many benefits, Uipath has only 4.6 times sales, trading significantly below the 3-year average of 6.9 times. So, given multiple tailwinds and low ratings, stocks are a valuable investment despite experiencing slowdowns in growth trajectories over the past few quarters.

Trump delivers “America First” Theme Speech at West Point
President Trump gave his opening speech at West Point Military Academy in New York.
President Donald Trump told alumni to avoid “trophy wife” during his opening speech at the US Military Academy in West Point on May 24.
“He eventually divorced and found a new wife. Can you say a trophy wife? I think you can say a trophy wife,” Trump said. “But that doesn’t work very well. I have to tell you a lot of trophy wife, that doesn’t work.”
Trump has been married three times. Ivana Zernichkova – married in 1977 and divorced in 1990. Marla Maples – married in 1993 and divorced in 1999. And Melania North, now Mrs. Melania Trump, married in 2005. Each of them worked as professional models before their engagement with Trump.
The anecdote came during the opening speech. There, Trump touted the isolationist attitude of his administration and the end of his diversity, equity and inclusion program.
“The job of the US military is not to host drug shows, but to spread democracy (and) to spread foreign cultures to everyone around the world at the time of guns,” he said. “The job of the military is to control the enemy and annihilate any threats to America, anywhere, anytime, anywhere.”
The Military Academy closed its campus organizations in February, including Corbin Forum, a leadership club for women cadets, and Spectrum, a straight alliance for gays, following an executive order ending an executive order ending diversity, equity and inclusion policies for military governments in February.
“We have freed the troops from divisive and sleazy political training,” Trump said. “In this country, there is no more critical racial theory or transgender for all those forced on our brave men and women, or by others.”
In his speech, Trump, wearing the Red Magazine hat, draws a common campaign reference, saying, “I have gone through very tough times with people with very radical illnesses.
Trump was convicted in 2024 for 34 counts of forging business records ahead of the 2016 presidential election, in order to hide quiet money payments for adult film star Stormy Daniels.

These post-stage responsibilities are tiring, especially for a 21-year-old who’s never had to do it before, and is already pretty exhausted by fighting in the GC every day in only his second-ever Grand Tour.
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has launched two nights of their “Cowboycarter” tour in New York.
The Grammy Award-winning singer began her show at MetLife Stadium on May 24th at around 8:02pm. The concert was her second performance on a Rodeo Chitlin Circuit Tour with her Cowboy Carter in the New York area (East Rutherford, New Jersey). She will perform on the same stage for a total of five nights. The rest of the shows will take place on May 25th, 28th and 29th.
“Hello New York! Y’all looks absolutely spectacular. I’m so honored and happy and grateful to be at this stage,” she said as she opened the show.
Saturday’s performance proved to be yet another groundbreaking show where high energy and high fashion dominated the night.
Beyoncé’s tour was a big showcase of fashion and creativity. Every night, Beyoncé continues to blend high fashion with cowboy couture, keeping fans on the edge of her seat while she anticipates a new look. There were many appearances that featured Western glams: sparkling chaps, cowboy hats, boots, piles of fringes.
On Saturday night’s show, Beyoncé’s new outfit appears to be stealing the show. During her “Alligator Tears” performance, Beyoncé jumped out in an entirely new outfit. She wore a long fur coat paired with textured cowboy hats and thigh high fringe boots. And it looked like a fan favorite online.
That wasn’t all. During “Texas Hold M,” Beyoncé debuted another head touring look, with her dancers wearing their corresponding outfits. The exterior featured an American flag jacket with a black cowboy hat and more sparkly thigh fringe boots for Beyoncé
Many fans in the stadium and online focused on electrical energy all night long. One fan wrote, “This crowd is insane.” Another co-signed saying, “I’m taking it at night.”
Towards the end of the show, Beyoncé sang the lyrics to her 2008 song “That’s Why You’re Beautiful” to the crowd.
Of course, Beyoncé first made her “Cowboy Carter” tour on April 28th at Sophie Stadium in Los Angeles, singing 39 songs on the set list. Her show is filled with family, fashion, and a variety of musical genres, especially country music and cultural commentary.
The nine-city tour spans the US and Europe at the grand finale in Las Vegas on July 26th. Beyoncé has already made history on scheduled tour dates, including the most dates at Sophie Stadium for all artists.

Harvard sues Trump administration over ban on international registration
Harvard is suing the Trump administration in response to the ban on international students.
Donald Trump said he wants “names and countries” of all international students registered at Harvard University.
He made the request in a true social post on May 25, days after a federal judge blocked the Trump administration’s efforts to ban anyone in the US from registering on student visas.
“It’s a reasonable request since giving Harvard billions of dollars, but Harvard hasn’t come close to exactly,” Trump wrote. “We want those names and countries.”
Trump didn’t immediately say how the federal government would use that information, or which part of his administration would manage such a list. USA Today has contacted the White House for more details.
Trump’s post said that after Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem sent a letter to Harvard leaders, the university’s participation in the Student and Exchange Visitors Program would end “quickly.” This is an important prerequisite for universities and universities to enroll international students.
All international students must move to another university to stay in the US, she said.
Harvard then sued the administration, calling the move a “blatant violation” of First Amendment protections and a guarantee of the due process and other legal rights of the 14th Amendment. Judge Alison Burrows, appointed by former President Barack Obama, sided with the school on a temporary order on May 23rd.
She wrote that the policy determined that it would cause “immediate and irreparable injuries” to Harvard campus.
Elite universities, including Harvard, caught much of Trump’s rage in his second administration. Under his direction, the federal agency focuses on schools that claim to not protect Jewish students from anti-Semitism, in addition to targeting diversity efforts on campus nationwide.
The new spending bill in Congress would also increase the payments that wealthy private universities make for the return on investment they make on their contributions.
University donations are a combination of charitable contributions, gifts and investment returns, and are used to promote the work of the university and its programs.

Gym Etiquette: Women confused after random men took part in training
This viral clip of a random man interrupting female training sparked a conversation about gym etiquette.
In the world of cutout booty shorts and strappy crop tops, social media is debating whether women should dress more modestly at the gym.
Discussions about whether the world of elastic matching sets is too clear is not new. Some say they can see people’s butts when they really don’t want to. Others say they actually need a gown to cover them so they feel safe from the men who touch them. Many argue that it is their right to wear what they want to be active. One Tiktoker said the issue means that it is a brand that doesn’t make inclusive clothing of size, and that it inevitably exposes the large backside and breasts.
No matter what side of people fall, women are asked if their outfit is enough.
“Am I a woman?” One Tiktoker asked in a video asking viewers what they were wearing. That simple question has received over 9 million views and shows that many others are wondering the same thing.
And confusion occurs when society appears to support modest dressing as fashionable. Kendall Jenner’s buttermilk mide dress at Coachella and nude dressing bans at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival (which came soon after the reaction to various obvious appearances of the Met Gala earlier this month).
However, according to Einav Rabinovitch-Fox, a professor of American politics and gender at Case Western Reserve University, the conversation is not about modest gym outfits and what’s revealed. You should focus on what happens when you think you can comment on what a woman is wearing in the first place.
In part, the move towards more modest training wear was promoted by religious women who took to social media to compare, discuss and admire the gym’s appearances covered up.
“I want to hide more. This is new,” said @Coachbells of Tiktok this month. “I’ve always been the one who’s been wearing shorts at the gym and being on this journey with God has made me realize that no one deserves it.”
“It lies in the Lord’s belief,” another user wrote in a post showing pictures of her training outfit before and after accepting Jim’s humility.
According to Rabinovitch-Fox, there’s nothing wrong with dressing modestly at the gym.
“The decision to say, ‘You look like a woman’ is the problem,” she explains. The department has not made any progress on women, she adds, but in fact they always lock them in a cycle where the Standards Association is constantly trying to set: sexy. Be modest. It will be both. Don’t do either.
Rabinovic Fox suggests that other women will refocus on discussions about their underlying motivations rather than blaming their choices at the gym. You’re wearing it, and you shouldn’t be anyone else.
“If you’re not doing it for yourself, it’s not a powerful tool.”

Many drivers chase history on Sunday. This is sought for a fifth victory in the iconic race. Josef Newgarden is looking to overcome Team Pensuke’s penalty and big controversy as he tries to become the first driver to win the Indy 500 for the third year in a row.
Kyle Larson has had a day and 1,100 miles on a plate of 1,100 miles, trying to become the first driver to complete the motorsport double since Tony Stewart in 2001.

The green flag for the 109th running Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for 12:45pm ET. The car arrives in the pit lane between 9am and 9:20am and there is a command to start the engine at 12:38pm.

Several rain drops began to fall at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, delaying the start of the 109th run of the Indianapolis 500. The rain is light so I hope the lace won’t last too long. Today’s forecast was cloudy sky 65 degrees Fahrenheit, according to Accuweather.

Josef Newgarden is a two-time defending Indy 500 champion and aims to become the first driver to win a legendary event for the third year in a row. However, in the lead-up to Sunday’s race, New Garden is attracting attention for another reason. His controversy and fallout in the race team.
The IndyCar series punished the driver by Team Penske making illegal changes to several cars, including Newgarden, during the Indy 500 qualifying, fined the driver and started at the rear of the field. Roger Pensuke, who owns the race team and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and IndyCar series, has fired the entire IndyCar team leadership as a result of the scandal, making New Garden attempts at 3 Pete even more difficult.

The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champions are attempting to “double” on Sunday by racing both Arrow Mclaren’s Indy 500 and Hendrick Motorsports’ Coca-Cola 600. He ranks 10th to win the Indy 500 and is a favorite to win the Coca-Cola 600, according to BetMGM’s latest odds.
“I enjoy the challenge and I enjoy learning on the spot,” Larson told USA Today Sports ahead of his second attempt at both events.
Larson was unable to arrive at the Coca-Cola 600 Charlotte due to a delay in rain at the Indy 500 last year.
“I wasn’t doing that. Obviously, if I didn’t feel like I had a shot to win both,” Larson said.

Tradition began in 1936 when Louis Meyer drank buttermilk in victory lane. Legend says Meyer drank milk because his mother said he would refresh him on a hot day.
Dairy industry executives saw a photo of Meyer drinking milk and then decided to offer it to the winners. The Indiana Dairy Association became an official sponsor in the 1950s, and recently all drivers have been asked what kind of milk they have (total, skim, or 2%) just in case they have the opportunity to celebrate it.

House of Representatives passes President Donald Trump’s “big and beautiful bill”
The House has passed President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.” He is now moving to the Senate.
WASHINGTON – Sen. R-Wisconsin, Sen. R-Wisconsin, condemned a massive bill backed by President Donald Trump, warning that it has big consequences on taxes, Medicaid, food stamps and more, and that there are GOP senators ready to block it.
The bill was passed by the House of Representatives on May 22nd with only one vote. Several Republican senators are now warning the legislative price tag. It is expected to add about $3.3 trillion to the country’s deficit over the next decade, inflated federal debt.
In an interview with CNN about the “Allics,” Johnson predicted that the number of Senate opponents could be sufficient to fight the proposal.
“I think it’s enough to stop the process until the president takes seriously cutting spending and reducing deficits,” Johnson said on May 25th.
Trump is urging Republicans to line up with some of his 2024 campaign promises, including a temporary tax credit, with some of his 2024 campaign promises.
Republicans control the Senate at a margin of 53-47, but some Senate conservatives aren’t convinced.
“This is our moment,” Johnson told CNN’s Jake Tupper. “We have witnessed an unprecedented level of increased spending… this is the only opportunity to reset it to a reasonable pre-pandemic level.”
The Wisconsin Senator called for another approach to tackling the country’s deficit before he boarded the ship.
And Johnson isn’t knocking Republican senators on Trump-backed laws.
This is because the bill also includes an increase in the debt cap of $4 trillion. This is a measure that must be approved to prevent catastrophic defaults on the country’s debt that could possibly be in August.
R-Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said the pay raise was a serious hold for him.
“Even reducing wimpies and anemia, I would still support the bill,” he told Fox News on Sunday, May 25th.
“It’s just not a serious proposition you know,” he added.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-Louisiana, followed Paul on Sunday morning’s show, and when host Shannon Breem asked about the Senator’s criticism, Johnson said he “heart-in-the-follow” agreed.
“I love his beliefs and I share them,” Johnson said. “National debt is the biggest threat to our national security, and deficits are a serious issue.”
But he said, “You don’t make an aircraft carrier a single dime. It requires a mile of open ocean. And it took decades to get into this situation. This is a big step towards turning that aircraft carrier.”

The Minnesota Timberwolves set a franchise record for points scored in the playoff games on Saturday night as they routed the Oklahoma City Thunder 143-101 to cut their deficits in the Western Conference Finals.
Anthony Edwards led the score with 30 points, nine rebounds and six assists in 30 minutes.
“It just brings out these teams and energy,” the All-Star said in three post-game times. “OKC plays with a lot of energy, regardless of the first or fourth quarter. So, at least try to surpass their energy, or at least match it. I think we did that because that was the most important thing today.”
Also won were Julius Randle, who scored 24, and rookie Terrence Shannon Jr., who was impressed by 15 points in just 13 minutes.
“Great,” Randle said when he asked about Shannon’s performance. “We knew he needed this series, and the coach clearly has a lot of faith in him. So he brought a lot of energy to the game because he prepared for his moment and gave us the lift he did, he was a huge boost for our team today.”
This was a Shannon-like contribution that the Minnesota bench actually outperformed the Thunder starter 66-49 in the evening.
After two defeats in Oklahoma, the wolves clearly enjoyed returning to target center. By the age of 34 in the third quarter, Randle could be seen screaming “We’re back home now!” Repeated in the direction of the Minnesota crowd.
By that point, the contest had been over for a while. Oklahoma City has the best defensive power in the NBA, but it went down quickly when a 12-0 run in the first quarter raised the Wolves to 25-9.
By the end of the quarter it was 34-14, and since the second quarter the Thunder had not reached within 22 points of the home team.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who was named NBA MVP earlier this week after scoring 69 points in the first two games of the series, managed only 14 points in a 4-for-13 shooting.
There was 4:25 left in the third quarter, with Thunder falling at 38, and Thunder head coach Mark Deanoo acknowledged his starman and primed it.
“We didn’t bring that from an energy and focus perspective,” Gilgeous-Alexander later admitted. “They just came out with an urgency, but we didn’t.”
The Wolves hope to count home advantage again and tie the series together when the team meets in Game 4 on Monday night.

Discovered at the Sutton Who Estate in Suffolk, England, the Anglo-Saxon ship has long fascinated history enthusiasts since its discovery on the eve of World War II.
And the location of the 7th century royal burial has produced more wonders of the ancient past in recent decades. In 1986, tractor halo haloed excavated fragments of a Byzantine bucket.
Made from thin sheets of copper alloy, the artifact depicts the North African hunting scene. Researchers believe that the sixth century object took an unusual journey from Antioch (modern turkey) to the East Coast of England.
Archaeologists have discovered and assembled pieces of buckets over the years, but clues that could shed light on the base and its purpose remained elusive.
Now, a new excavation at Sutton Hoo reveals the entire base of the bucket and what once was housed.
In another surprising discovery, when two hikers exploring the Krkonoshe Mountains of the Czech Republic took place in a box of aluminum protruding from a stone wall, they discovered a gold bracelet, a cigar case, a powder compact, and a mysterious cache of hundreds of coins.
The duo was discovered at the East Bohemia Museum in Fradek Krarove. There, experts are currently studying their works.
Miroslav Novak, head of the museum’s Ministry of Archaeology, shares speculation about where the trobes came from, as none of the coins are local.
One hypothesis is that this collection is related to the departure of the Czech and Jewish population before World War II, or the departure of Germany after the war in 1945. However, the latest coin in the stash dates from 1921, adding another layer to the mystery.

The impact and history of Detroit cars, Motor City
Below are some facts about Detroit’s automotive industry.
Four months ago, McKinley Archie was blind to the reality that his six-figure job at the trucking company where he had been working for about 20 years was approaching a halt of a screeching.
Archie, 46, has been working for Jack Cooper, a now-defunct car hauler since 2004. He started there as a driver. He drove large rigs from the carmaker’s Louisville Assembly Plant and Kentucky Truck Plant with new Ford Motor Co. vehicles at dealers nationwide. He was working towards the stewards at the Jack Cooper facility, which served Louisville Assembly.
Life was good. Then, on January 2nd, Jack Cooper’s second-largest customer, after General Motors, gave Jack Cooper a 30-day notice that it had ended its decades-long business with carriers. Ford did not provide a reason. Archie and about 105 colleagues in Louisville suddenly knew they would lose what was their favorable job.
“It wasn’t McDonald’s wage jobs. They were good jobs,” Archie said.
Then, a month later, GM ended his relationship with Jack Cooper after failing to reach a new contract. This led to the nearly 100-year-old vehicle transport company going out of business, eliminating approximately 2,500 jobs nationwide. In Michigan, more than 350 jobs were terminated when Ford and GM cut off their contract with Jack Cooper.
Through it, Archie put on a brave face and hides his fears about how he will provide to his family.
“As a steward, my colleagues wanted me to be leadership and mentored, so I had to be strong for them on the outside, but internally, I didn’t know what I was trying to do either,” Archie said. “Then when I saw my mother, she said, ‘What’s wrong? Does your face look heavy?” I broke a few tears and said, “I don’t know if I’ll do my job.” She thought I was a child of God.
Archie said he began to listen to his mother’s advice, draw out his faith and reflect on his plans to survive this set-off.
He wasted no time as he knew that the Jack Cooper truck had to be empty on January 31st. In early February he gathered a lifelong band of “brothers from another mother” and proposed ideas.
“We’ve been in business for many years, but we sat down and had a roundtable discussion on how we could alleviate these losses,” Archie said. “We have decided to start car transport operations.”
The group has launched other business efforts, including in 2020 when it launched the bourbon maker Blackbread distillery in Louisville. They also run Knox Construction, a home renovation business in Atlanta.
In February, the group launched Squirrel LLC. The goal is to transport Ford vehicles from the Kentucky truck factory to dealers anywhere in the country. Archie is the company’s co-founder and chief compliance officer. The newly established carrier is based in Stone Mountain, Georgia, where some of the group lives.
The business group consists of Archie, two other men and one woman. The three men grew up together and knew each other “from the cradle,” Archie said. They went on their first date together, and Archie even taught one of them how to drive. They later met a woman through friends. She brings her logistics expertise, he said.
Archie describes this group as “multiplena.” In other words, you are trying to find opportunities in a variety of areas. His two male partners have a degree in finance, and one is a youth pastor with a master’s degree in divinity, Archie said.
They decided to call it Squirrel. “Because we’re all over the place, that’s our slogan,” Archie said.
But they knew that starting their own car transport business was not an easy feat. Archie said the plan was to buy a lightly used rig from Jack Cooper. However, each had a whopping $260,000 price tag. Second, rigs and employee insurance costs. He said they were able to start some tracks. So far, Squirrel has bought 10 trucks and plans to buy another 25 trucks, he said.
“So there was quite a lot of things we had to raise, and it’s a tough job for us,” Archie said. “We were going to the backyard and digging up all our savings. It’s hard to go to the bank and give us $3 million and start a dream. We’re actually running the car so we can go back to them and show them proof of concept.
Squirrel moved his first Ford vehicle from Kentucky to Texas on April 22nd. Since then, he has transported Ford Expedition SUV and F-Series super duty pickups from a truck factory in Kentucky to dealers in Texas, and nine loads to dealers in Michigan. Archie said it was about 120 vehicles.
“It’s a great start for us,” Archie said. “Of course we want to get to where we’re driving 36 loads a day. If we get our own inventory directly from (the car manufacturer), it’s going to get better.”
Ford spokeswoman Ursula Muller declined to comment on the hauling of squirrel carriers as the car manufacturer has a policy that does not comment on supplier contracts.
However, squirrels are currently transporting overflow operations from other haulers. Because under the Teamsters Union agreement, carriers must give other unionized carriers an overflow task, Archie said. Later last month, Squirrel employees voted to join Teamster, the union confirmed.
A week later, the second unit of the former Jack Cooper carrier has rejoined Teamsters Union. In a media release, Teamsters Local 964 in Ohio said the Avon Lake Car Hall group employed by Fleet Transport Corporation combined the local 964 with the union. The fleet shipment was launched last month and says it will fill the market gap left by Jack Cooper’s bankruptcy. Ford’s Ohio Assembly Plant on Lake Avon is building F-Series intermediate duty and super duty pickups.
Squirrel has six employees, more than the 10 former Jack Cooper drivers hired by former Jack Cooper drivers, Archie said.
“My goal is to get most of them (drivers) back to work. Cassen Transport took some of them,” Archie said.
“We’re Brock’s new kids,” Archie said. “These airlines were already there before Jack Cooper went out.”
Archie said Squirrel is about to negotiate a direct contract with the Detroit automaker. In the meantime, he said he was happy to be able to work again and hire others.
“It’s personally a great pride for me to help my fellow brothers get back to work,” Archie said. “Thank God that he put me in a position where he could do that. When it was happening and we were losing our job, I thought, ‘I thought it was okay because I started a car hauling company.’ Four months later, here we are actually running the vehicle. ”

Social media lament Sunday reminds her of her style
Sunday, a well-known social media lab, passed away at the age of 12 of cancer.
It all started with a free Craigslist ad and an 18-year-old girl.
It was 2013, when Monet Gamble, North Carolina, lost a dog in her childhood and moved out of her parents’ home. The dog lover, staring at the world as a newly aged adult, decided that she needed a best friend, and her heart settled on winning a girl. So when he turned to the black lab puppy where gambling is listed for free, he was not only the last woman left in the garbage, but when he spent just a day’s birthday from her, she knew it was destiny.
“This is just meant to be something, this is perfect,” she thought. And from there she told USA Today, “We only got together soon.”
For those who have not been able to know about Black Lab, Sunday, it is difficult to explain online how much she is loved during her prolific internet reign. With Tiktok having 1.8 million followers and 75 million likes, and 380,000 followers on Instagram, you can’t claim that Sundae is not a small internet celebrity.
Like many of these popular pet accounts, when I went to pick up my puppy in May 2013, the enormous size of Sunday’s followers wasn’t a gambling intention or expectation. Like many pet owners, gambling isn’t about becoming an influencer, or sharing what he saw as the cutest puppy in the world, he created a social media account for Sunday.
“It started just by having fun with her,” Gamble said. “Just be creative. She’s always so comfortable, just go with the flow.”
Sunday was probably best known for her iconic outfit she wore for many “works” from security guards to pharmacists. Like a respectable fashionista, she was at home looking to be herself.
How has the rather ordinary social media page turned into a showcasing a huge collection of Sunday pants, wigs, uniforms, dresses, earrings and other clothing and accessories? For quite practical reasons, in fact.
“She had an ant bite in her stomach from the park, so I had cream on her stomach,” Gamble said. “She kept trying to lick it, so I had the old pants I put on her. I put her pants and she was really excited to zoom around the house.
From there, I ended up cutting out my old pants from gambling and buying children’s clothes and outfits aimed at pets. My uniforms, wigs and more came right away.
“She enjoyed getting dressed. It’s something different. And when I dress her up, she’s going to be really excited, so that’s what we started,” Gamble said.
As Sundae’s fame grew, Gamble shared other things about her life together, eventually giving fans a glimpse into the lab’s two-year battle with cancer. Gambling’s total dedication to helping her best friend defeat the illness is curious how everything from homemade meals to supplements has helped her puppy’s journey.
“It was definitely exciting to see the page take it off and read comments on how Sunday affects these people and how that’s the best part of their day and how it brightens up their day,” Gamble said. “They may have had the worst day they’ve ever had. Then they go and the Sundays appear on their pages and make them forget about the bad days they had at work and the like.”
Despite Gamble’s dedication to Sundae’s health, her family eventually received devastating news that cancer at the 12-year-old lab is spreading and progressing too much.
On May 14th, Gamble shared Sunday’s prognosis with his followers. The next day she shared that Sunday was having trouble eating but enjoyed a McDonald’s meal.
On May 16th, Gamble shared a post she and her followers feared.
The comments below the post are sincere and sincere, and we are grateful that over 18,000 people shared their love for the lab and brightened up the days of our family.
“Thank you Sunday for improving your days when you couldn’t do it. I hope you’ll catch that squirrel wherever you are now. It’ll be a relief,” he said.
But, as condolences were poured in, something a little unexpected happened. Gambling shared that when the vet came to his home and performed euthanasia, her mother, also known as Sunday’s beloved grandmother, was there to provide support. Gambling said he was very tangible to have a phone or camera at this moment. Instead, she hoped it was just them, and Sunday grabbed their undivided attention.
However, her mom wanted to film the video. That may sound pathological, she told her daughter, but I promise you would want to remember this.
Sundae’s peaceful transition got caught up in the film. When Gambling got it back, she realized that her mom was right. This video was something she was happy to have, and that was what she ultimately decided to share.
“In the beginning, it was like I didn’t know if this was too much,” she said. “But I have it on my followers that it’s because she’s helped me throughout her life to make sure she’s paid for his medical bills and even get her to reach her ever.”
The commenter under the touching compliment told Gamble that he not only said goodbye to Sunday, but also made him better understand what euthanasia looks like and not let him fear he’s on his pet’s side when the time comes.
“Thank you for showing people that there’s nothing to fear and that they can be with the baby until the very end. Goodbye Sunday. We’ll miss you, Sunny Bunny.”
In their final moments, Gamble put it together better than anyone else: “And it’s the Sunday story.”
“She was in pain and I was happy with her. I was so happy to see her life relaxed, her breathing slowed, and she fell asleep peacefully,” Gamble added. “She was peaceful, she was rested and that’s what she deserved…. I was so happy that she had such a beautiful life.”

When Arsenal last won the Women’s Champions League, the team’s star Leah Williamson was a 10-year-old mascot who grabbed the ball as she took the players onto the pitch.
On Saturday, 18 years later, Williamson’s defensive glow surprised the two-time defending champion and pre-game favourite Barcelona 1-0 in the final, causing the gunners to fall into the next European victory.
This is all the charming Barça teams that played in their record five consecutive finals, scoring 44 goals in the Champions League this season, earning just one embarrassment of all time. Few people expected Arsenal to abdicate such a team.
“We knew we were underdogs. We rarely get to play in the game when there’s little pressure on you,” Williamson later said, according to the club’s website. “So we said we were going out and going to enjoy it.”
Armed with such an attitude and uninterrupted by expectations, Arsenal created the goal for Stina Blackstenius in the 74th minute, one of its incredible performances, and proved the difference between the two teams.
Blackstenius was on the pitch in under ten minutes when she made a decisive contribution, recovering Beth Mead’s reverse pass on Barca’s defense in the box, controlling it with one touch and firing it across the goal’s face into the net.
It was she designed another chance, slamming her loose passes and taking the defense only to be blocked by goalkeeper Kata Kol.
And even if seven minutes of injury was added in front of thousands of gunner fans who traveled to Lisbon, Arsenal’s defense delved into clinging.
“This is probably the most difficult game I’ve ever played,” Arsenal manager Rene Sleggers later told reporters. “Barcelona has all the rotations and all the individual threats, so there’s so much to deal with today, players have to make decisions every second on the pitch.”
Barcelona had 14 shots in the second half alone, but their efforts either bouncing off the woodwork, missing out on goal, or were beaten by Daphne van Donceral.
The Spanish giants improved significantly in the second half after seeing off-collar before halftime, but lacked accuracy for the team seeking Europe’s fourth title in five years.
Arsenal players were typical in 22 minutes after Irene Purdes accidentally tapped the ball into the net as they tried to rule out the goal before it was ruled out after an offside VAR check.
“We weren’t at the highest level, but we gave it everything. In those circumstances, football sometimes punishes you,” last year’s Baron de Orle winner Aitana Bonmati said on the AP by AP. “We need to use what happened here for our benefit in the future.”

The bodies of five skiers were found on a glacier near the Swiss mountains in Limpfishhorn, police said on Sunday.
The bodies were found after two other skiers raised the alarm and saw the skis at the foot of the mountain’s peak but had not come across their owners, a police statement said.
A rescue helicopter with medical professionals on board quickly flew through the area, with five bodies “stopping out soon,” the statement continued.
Approximately 500 meters (1,640 feet) were found from a Swiss location, reported Swiss broadcasting station Radio Television Suisse (RTS). The other two bodies were found almost 200 meters (approximately 656 feet) tall in small snowy areas.
Formal identification of the victim is underway. The Attorney General has launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident, police said.

An immersive world diving into the epic universe of universal
Universal’s epic universe in Orlando, Florida is the first theme park to open in the region in five different immersive worlds in 25 years.
Universal Epic Universe is a theme park for theme park lovers.
A new addition to Universal Orlando Resort brings immersive themes to a new level in five completely fleshed-out worlds connected by ornate portals throughout the park.
“It changes the nature of the theme park design itself,” Steve Tasam, executive creative director of everything in the epic universe, told USA Today ahead of the park’s grand opening on Thursday. “When you think about theme parks, over the last half century, three minutes of experience has been built within themed land, and this is completely different… each of these worlds becomes a one-day experience.”
There’s no shortage of things to see and do, but there are some things to avoid in the epic universe.
I’ve only rode the epic universe 11 times, but there’s a lot more to experience throughout the park.
You won’t miss out on character interactions and live entertainment. The “The Trainable Dragon” show is one of the best attractions in the park, and it’s unforgettable to meet characters like the bride of Frankenstein and Ygor from Dark Universe. There are also many interactive elements and Easter eggs all over the world.
“It’s about living the story for a long time,” Tasam said. “I like to think of it as waders, swimmers, divers. So waders just go for a walk and say, ‘Oh, this is fine. This is nice. I’m going for a ride.’ And people dive a little deeper, they’ll be rewarded because they can find certain things, those divers, something that’s very specific. ”
The queues for most attractions are either shaded or indoors, with many air-conditioned restaurants and shops, but the spectacular space with no shade has even wider open spaces.
If overheating makes you feel sick, ask your team members for help. The park also has two first aid stations. One is by guest services near the main entrance, and the other is the Ministry of Magic, the magical world of Harry Potter. You can find them on the maps in the Universal Orlando free app.
Likewise, you’ll want to prepare for the rain, just like the heat. Packed with reusable ponchos and wearing shoes that can be handled wet. And if the ride has to be closed due to weather, it is for your safety and control of team members.
The three attractions at the Epic Universe have a height requirement of 48 inches. MonstersUnchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, Stardust Racers, Dragon Racer’s Rally.
Most other vehicles have a 40-inch requirement, which is preschool height and may require an adult to supervise.
Yoshi’s adventures have a 34-inch height requirement, but it is slow and gentle, and the infants on hand are not permitted in the carousel or fire drills of the constellations.
Looking into the height requirements in advance will avoid the disappointment of children who may not be tall enough for some rides. Most rides have family waiting rooms where parents and guardians can switch between children they cannot or don’t want to ride.
There are also two play areas for kids. Viking Training Camp How to Train Your Dragon – Astronomical Splash Pads in Berk Island and the Astronomical Park.
Children of all ages also enjoy key challenges and other interactive activities of power-up bands in the interactive cane area of Super Nintendo World and Harry Potter’s Magical World, but at least one guest in the party should have a power-up band or an interactive cane.
Just like the original Super Mario game, the world of Super Nintendo has many stairs, especially in Mario Kart: Bowser’s challenge. This has been a pain point for some guests previewing the park, but it doesn’t have to be.
The two-storey world has multiple elevators, with multiple elevators in the rest of the park, especially for guests with wheelchairs and other mobility needs.
As soon as you enter the portal, instead of heading straight towards the escalator, turn right and find an equally themed path to the elevator you will take to the second floor.
Here you can play a variety of key power-up challenges and qualify for an interactive showdown with Bowser Jr. It is also a place where you can enter one of the three vehicles in the world, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge. If you are unable to climb or descend the stairs, you can ask a team member at the entrance to the attraction to escort the elevator in the queue. It won’t reduce your waiting time, but it will help you avoid stairs.
On the second floor there is another elevator on the second floor for guests who want to descend to the ground to enjoy other parts of the world, including Donkey Kong Country. It is located on the right side of Mario Kart and Mario Motors Shop.
From the ground level, guests can catch the same elevator on the left side of Yoshi’s adventure and go upstairs. Yoshi’s Adventure also has an elevator for that particular vehicle. You don’t need an elevator to get into Minecart’s madness.
