That seemed impossible, but the video began to circulate on social media shortly after news broke that Air India flight had crashed in Ahmedabad city.

It was then revealed that there was one survivor. The British citizen of Indian origin has been identified by the Hindustan Times as Vishwash Kumar Ramesh.

“Thirty seconds after takeoff, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened very quickly,” he cited the hospital interview saying he was undergoing treatment.

He said he was visiting his family and was back in the UK with his brother, who was sitting in another line. He wasn’t sure if his brother survived, he said.

Air India later confirmed that of the 242 people on the flight, 241 were killed, making Ramesh the only survivor.

His cousin Ajay Vargi told reporters in Leicester in England that Ramesh told his family he was “good” and added that they were angry at his brother and everything else that had passed away.

The doctor told CNN that Ramesh’s condition is “not very critical” and that he could be released in the next few days.

“He has some blood in the image, but he’s not so badly injured. He’s very comfortable and under strict observation and has no issues.

Indian news outlets share photos of Ramesh’s boarding pass. This shows that he was sitting on 11A of the flight in the emergency exit line just before the left wing of the plane. CNN does not independently confirm the truth behind the photos.

David Sussy, a safety analyst at CNN and former US Federal Aviation Administration safety inspector, expressed surprise that anyone sitting on that part of the plane would withstand such crash drops.

The seat “is the wing spar below, and it would be a solid place for the aircraft to hit the ground, but it’s very surprising when it comes to survivability above it,” he told CNN.

Ramesh’s survival was said to be miraculous by British members of Parliament.

“It’s nothing more than a miracle. I’m reaching out to my family and choosing to respect their privacy during this ordeal time. But you may have picked up. One of his brothers also had a stump on that flight that sadly failed to survive.”

People inside the hostels of BJ Medical College and hospitals were also killed when the plane crashed. There, a senior doctor at Ahmedabad Municipal Hospital, where the majority of the dead and injured were taken, told CNN.

The doctor added that the death toll is likely to rise.

Earlier on Thursday, Swapnil Bhalodia of the Indian Medical Association’s Medical Student Network said at least three medical students were killed in the crash, and another 30 were injured.

The plane headed to London’s Gatwick Airport, carrying Indian, British, Canadian and Portuguese citizens.

Air India Flight, on its way to London, carrying 242 passengers and crew, crashed earlier today shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad, the western city of Guajarat, India.

Timeline: According to the air tracker Flightradar24, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, Air India Flight 171, was its destination at London Gatwick Airport and departed from Ahmedabad International Airport at local time (4:08 PM ET). The aircraft’s signal was lost less than a minute at an altitude of 625 feet.

Causes: At least 290 people have been killed, senior doctors at Ahmedabad Municipal Hospital told CNN. Among the people killed were passengers on the flight, including minors, local residents and some of the people who were inside the hostels of BJ Medical College and hospitals when the plane crashed. So far, only one survivor has been reported among those on the flight, according to local police. Previously, Air India CEO Campbell Wilson said in a video message on social media that injured passengers were taken to a local hospital and “a special team of Air India caregivers is heading to Ahmedabad to provide additional support.”

In the surrounding area: Authorities said the majority of the planes had collided with a residential doctor at a hostel, where the hostel works at a local hospital. The All India Medical Association federation said 50-60 students were admitted to local hospitals after the flight collided with the hostel of the BJ Medical College and the hospital. A group statement said some residents and their parents are said to be missing, but one resident’s wife was found dead.

Who was on board? Wilson said 230 passengers were on the flight, with 12 crew members presenting them. He confirmed that 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, seven Portuguese nationals and one Canadian national on board.

investigation: According to CNN’s Richard Quest, India’s civil aviation authorities are expected to take the lead, but “parties to the investigation” also include the US and UK destination countries where the aircraft are manufactured. The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said it will lead a team heading to India to help investigate local government conflicts. The British Air Accident Investigation Division (AAIB) has formally provided assistance to Indian authorities following the collision.

Boeing’s response: Boeing said it was in contact with the airline. “Our idea was influenced by passengers, crew, first responders and everything,” he added to the X-Post. This is the latest in a series of incidents aimed at plane makers over the past few years.

Support for victims: Tata Group, owner of Air India and one of India’s largest conglomerates, says it will offer one croule ($116,868) to each lifeless family.

Peru is overwhelming what he thinks is a very dangerous foreign prisoner in a Salvador prison is considering in prison, the prime minister said Thursday that he could follow in the footsteps of immigrants to Central American citizens.

Peruvian Prime Minister Eduardo Arana did not immediately elaborate what such an agreement with El Salvador would look like, but the US paid El Salvador to jail Venezuelan immigrants who claim to be members of the gang.

“The government is evaluating the bilateral cooperation mechanism for moving extremely dangerous foreign prisoners to their countries of origin, including specialized centres such as CECOT in El Salvador,” Alana told Congress.

He did not clarify whether Peru would send Salvador prisoners to the country or whether other foreign prisoners could be sent. The Prime Minister’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

CECOT is El Salvador’s infamous largest security prison known for its harsh conditions that sparked sharp protests from human rights groups.

Alana added that the Andean state is seeking funding from the Development Bank to build more prisons as it deals with overcrowding and the recent wave of crime.

Peru has declared emergency situations in regions around the country for recent months, including the capital, Lima, to tackle crime. In May, illegal miners lured and killed 13 miners in Peru’s northern district of Pataz.

After the owner died, the vast collection of historic gold coins recovered from the walls of a French home were sold at auction for millions of euros.

Auction House Beaussant Lefèvreand Associates told CNN on Thursday that all coins were sold in Paris this week, winning more than 3 million euros ($3.48 million) in total.

According to the Beaussant Lefèvreand Associates, the coin was collected in 2024 by Paul Narce, who lived in a small village in southwestern France until his death.

“Nars, who lived a modest life and never saw much of the world, spent all his money on his collection,” Coin expert Thierry Percy said in a statement previewing the sale.

Over the years, he “constructed an extraordinary collection of gold coins, both extraordinary things with over 1,000 numbers and the rare ones that are included,” Parsy said.

According to Parsy, many of the coins go back centuries.

Among them are ancient coins from the Kingdom of Macedonia between 336-323 BC, and an almost complete set of coins used during the reigns of Kings of France, Louis XIV, Louis XIV and Louis XIV.

Narse had no direct descendants, and only a few knew about his hobbies.

But no one knew where he had his collection. “It could have been undiscovered forever,” Parsy said.

The notary was eventually found a coin in a small space on the wall, hiding behind a painting in the store room.
