Authorities capture three more escaped prisoners

Three of the 10 inmates who left the New Orleans facility in a prominent escape were recaptured in two different states, authorities said May 26.

Renton Vanbillen, Leo Tate and Jermaine Donald are the latest escapes arrested earlier this month after a brave jailbreak, Louisiana State Police announced on Facebook on May 26.

“The Louisiana State Police is proud of the strong partnership we share with our local, state and federal law enforcement partners,” state police said on Facebook. “This is a clear example of how collaboration and open communication between agencies can lead to success that can be successful!”

Vanbilen, 26, was found in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by the Baton Rouge Police Department, authorities said. The Texas Department of Public Safety arrested Tate, 31, and Donald, 42, in Walker County, Texas, in Louisiana officials.

Additional details regarding the arrest were not immediately released. The two escapees, Derrick Groves and Antoine Massey, remained overall.

The trio’s arrests take place over a week when 10 inmates were arrested from Orleans’ parish prison on May 16th. Authorities say the group opened the door to the wrong slippery cell, torn the bathroom and drilled a hole in the prison before climbing the wall to escape.

The group fled early in the morning, and the three were recaptured by the end of the same day. Two more were held down a week later.

Authorities have announced awards of up to $20,000 per inmate for information that lead to arrests for the remaining escape.

Authorities initially suspected that other individuals had helped escape from prison. At least seven people were arrested, including fellow inmates.

Trevon Williams, who failed to escape from New Orleans prison, was charged with 10 counts, the principal of a simple escape, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Maril announced on May 23.

Weber was one of four people questioned by investigators as “examine surveillance footage and connect important points during the search.”

“As we promised when we launched our investigation, we will be responsible for everyone who contributed every role to the New Orleans prison break,” Maril said.

Others arrested in connection with the prison escape include prison maintenance workers, Sterling Williams, Casey Smith, Connie Weeden, Colny Harris and Colvantey Baptist. Weber, 28, Smith, 30, 59, Harris, 32, Baptist, 28, has been accused of getting in touch with and helping out the escape.

Smith, Weeden, Harris and Baptist are women.

Sterling Williams, 33, is accused of being a principal of simple escape and misconduct during his tenure. Maryle said Sterling Williams complied with requests from one of the prisoners, blocking water on his phone, allowing the escape to rip off the toilet and sinking units and climb holes in the wall that were created.

Michael Kennedy, a lawyer for Sterling Williams, told USA Today that his client had no idea that the man was planning to escape, claiming that inmates blocked the toilet and shut the water.

Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams told USA Today that the escape looked like an “internal job” and he was worried about the safety of his staff.

Jason Williams said he was particularly concerned about two colleagues who attempted two murders against Groves, one of the remaining two massive escapes.

According to Jason Williams, the two colleagues left the state for safety. He wouldn’t say if his office had received a reliable threat.

“They’re young. They have a family,” Jason Williams added. “They don’t deserve to be in a situation.”

Jason Williams also said some victims and witnesses in the incident against the escapees would “want to move.” He is worried about the dangers he has since escaped.

LAS VEGAS – Gloria Estefan sparkled her hips and elbows and shuffled songs she had played on a million wedding dance floors.

“I can’t believe 40 years have passed. Why would it be so long?” She meditated on the spongy stage of the Breulib Theatre in Fontaine Braux Las Vegas.

The song is “Conga,” a pop culture staple since 1985. This is one of the bestselling Latina singers of all time, one of the bestselling Latina singers, and will be performing at the American Music Awards on May 26th. This will be her first performance at the show in over 30 years.

Production is 48 hours before it airs live from Fontainebleau (streamed on CBS at 5pm Pt/8 Pt/8 PM ET and Paramount+), and Estefan is running through her showcase in a blue velvet pantsuit.

She is a veteran pro, thanking the few production assistants who dance enthusiastically, smile, point to five take on medleys, sing and waving from the floor beneath her.

The Amas lineup includes Estefan as well as Benson Boone, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Lainey Wilson, Reneé Rapp, Icon Award recipient Janet Jackson and Lifetime Achievement Award winner Rod Stewart.

Top candidates for the fan-voting show include Kendrick Lamar (10), Post Malone (8), Billy Eilish, Chapel Lawn, Shaboosie (all 7), and Taylor Swift, the best AMA leader of all time, adding six nominations to his 40 wins, the 60 wins this year.

The 67-year-old Estefan is recognized for his show’s host and performer Jennifer Lopez’s impact on the Latin music industry. Jennifer Lopez told USA Today in another interview that she is grateful for the trails that Estefan has fake.

“What is a pioneer, exactly? Someone who opens doors and people’s awareness to accept certain things,” Lopez said. “She definitely did it in her career for many of our Latin artists. She devotes her life to being a musician and singer, and it’s exciting to celebrate it.”

Estefan approaches when asked if she considers herself a custodian of Latin music.

“Everything we’re doing is moving forward and we’re choosing projects that will make us happy, so there’s nothing we’re sitting down and thinking about,” Estefan told USA Today when he finished his rehearsal. “It was our purpose because we opened up a bit to be able to work with artists like Shakira and JLO to push the door. Everyone was saying ‘No’ to us, so I’m very happy when I saw them sing in Spanish on ‘SNL’.

Estefan recalled that watching Desi Arnaz in her childhood and seeing him sing in Spanish on American television was her spirit.

“As (Supreme Court Judge) Sonia Sotomayor says, ‘If you can’t see it, you’re not that,'” she said.

Estefan’s first all-Spanish album in 18 years, “Raíces,” arrives on May 30th. The title track, released in March, reached number one on Billboard’s US Latin/Latin Airplay Chart.

“I wasn’t going to do that album at all,” Estefan says. She says she is busy writing 20 songs for the music “Basra,” which she has been working with her daughter Emily for three years. It will premiere at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta in May 2026. It’s my favorite genre and the core music I sing as a 3 year old. ”

So Emilio wrote an album for his wife, including Valentine. The couple will celebrate their 47-year marriage in September.

“He came to me and said, ‘I wrote a love song for you.’ And I said, “Ah! And he said, “No! And I said, “Oh, I see, so you wrote you My own Love Song,” Estefan recalls with a laugh.

Marcus Erickson, who came in second for Alex Pallow on Sunday’s Indianapolis 500, and Andretti’s global teammate Kyle Kirkwood, were penalised, moving behind finishing orders for the 33 cars after post-race inspections revealed an amendment to vehicle approval.

Ericson and Kirkwood, who finished sixth on Sunday, were respectively forced to lose both the prize money they won in Sunday’s race and championship points. Each receives money and points to finish on the 31st (Erickson) and 32nd (Kirkwood) respectively. Erickson and Kirkwood’s teams were each fined $100,000, and both competition managers were suspended in upcoming races on the streets of Detroit.

Indycar said the changes made by Andretti Global are in the cover of the energy management system offered by Dallara, the company that provides NTT IndyCar series chassis. The rulebook states that these parts should be used as they are being supplied.

These penalties come after the IndyCar inspection process faces a lot of backlash. Two-time Indy 500 winner Joseph Newgarden and 2018 winner Willpower’s two-time Indy 500 winner Team Pen Ske Chevrolet were found to be using illegal changes during qualifying last week. Both New Garden and Power were allowed to compete in Sunday’s races, but they were forced to start at the back of the pack.

Was Erickson and Kirkwood’s only car?

no. 90 Callum Illott cars also failed post-race inspections. Prema Racing failed to meet the minimum end plate height and location, and therefore imposed the same penalty as Andretti Global. Illott finished 12th in the race, but is now labelled as the final finisher.

Who is Marcus Erickson?

Marcus Erikson is a 34-year-old IndyCar driver from Kumra, Sweden. He won the 2022 Indianapolis 500 and ranner-up at Josef New Garden in 2023.

Erickson is currently in his seventh season in the NTT IndyCar series and is driving for the second time with Andretti Global. He moved to Chip Ganassi Race in 2020, spending his first season playing for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports before driving towards the team for four seasons. He was a huge success with Ganassi, winning four races, including the 2022 Indy 500, and earning nine podium finishes.

After finishing second place in the 2025 Indy 500, his best finish this season is his sixth place finish in the street course race at the season opener in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Before joining the IndyCar season in 2019, Erickson spent five seasons in Formula 1, but raced for a struggling team. He raced with the Caterham F1 team in 2014 before moving on to the Shiki Sauber F1 team.

When will the next IndyCar Series race be?

The Detroit Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday, June 1st at the Detroit Street Circuit. The 100 lap race is scheduled for 12:30 PM EST.

Both Andretti Global and Prema Racing competition managers have been suspended in this race.

Man arrested after ploughing a car to pedestrians during Liverpool Football Club victory parade

London
CNN

British police arrested the man after a car plowed to Liverpool fans during the football club’s Premier League Trophy Parade on Monday evening.

“The man arrested is a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area,” Merseyside police said in a statement, urging people not to speculate about the circumstances of the incident.

Local police previously said they were contacted in the city centre shortly after 6pm local time (1pm EST).

“The car stopped at the scene and the man was taken into custody,” he added.

The incident came the same day as the city was filled with soccer fans taking part in the open top bus parade to celebrate Liverpool Football Club’s 20th Top Flight League title.

Videos from social media seem to show the vehicle plowing up to pedestrians celebrating on the streets.

“This grey people’s career got up from the right and plunged into everyone on our side… It was very fast. At first, I heard pop, pop and pop knock out from the hood of the car.”

Rashid, who attended the parade with his wife and two young daughters, said the crowd had started to run and smash the car windows. “It was horrifying. And I could hear the bumps as he was watching people… I saw people lying on the ground, people were unconscious. It was horrifying. It was so horrifying,” he said.

The Monday parade coincided with another May public holiday in the UK, with players from the Liverpool team driving around the city centre on open-top buses. Hundreds of thousands of delighted fans joined the festival along the flags and red smoke of flares on the 10-mile route (16km).

“The Liverpool scene is horrifying. My thoughts are with all those injured or affected,” said British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer, who thanked the police and emergency services “for their prompt and continuous response to this shocking incident.”

People will be taken to stretchers following a car crash in Liverpool on Monday.

Video shared by Reuters News Agency showed emergency services tended to be people, with some being taken to stretcher ambulances.

Photos from the scene also show officials sealing heavy, scattered roads as officers investigate the area. The tent is located where the crash occurred.

The Liverpool Football Club said it was in contact with Merseyside police regarding the incident. “Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this serious incident and we will continue to provide full support to the emergency services and local governments dealing with this incident,” he said in X.

Liverpool FC’s local rival teams, Everton Football Club and the Premier League, also expressed their sadness on social media.

In a subsequent post on social media, Northwest Ambulance Service (NWAS) said the Liverpool city centre scene is “currently cleared,” adding that it will provide information on casualties at a press conference later Monday.

A local hospital group pleaded that people refrain from calling their power boards. “I know a lot of people are worried about their loved ones. I’ll contact your near-kind so please help me manage the best case possible by refraining from calling the exchange board.”

Kate Linklark has not taken action due to Indiana Fever for at least a few weeks.

The fever announced on May 26 that Clark was suffering from left quad tension and that he would miss at least two weeks while recovering from his injury.

Clark previously missed Indiana’s preseason opening game against the Washington mystic earlier this month due to an injury to the left quad. She had made enough progress to play in the hot regular season opener against Chicago’s air on May 17th, but more than a week later, similar issues are backed up, leaving her missing out on more time.

A two-week timeline where fever was provided means Clark misses at least four games. Fever vs Connecticut Sun on Friday, May 30th. Fever vs. Mystery on June 3, and fever at Chicago Sky on June 7.

Scammers use fake customer service numbers to catch you

0

play

There is bad customer service. Even worse fake customer service allows anyone to easily take you to a scammer with an eccentric accent who asks for a credit card on the spot when calling a fake hotline.

This is a tip to remind me of this summer, especially as I see various flight delays and cancellations at airports around the country that have to deal with outdated air traffic control devices and staffing shortages.

Has the airline lost your luggage? Have you ordered beach towels online and not delivered yet? Are there any issues with your car rental? Or are you worried about credit card transactions? Beware of the scammers we desperately want to hear from friendly voices offering to solve the CVS-Receipt size problem.

Scammers are well aware of how to build traps by planting fake customer service numbers online for famous major airlines, banks, insurance companies, cable companies, online retailers, and more.

Fake Amazon Customer Support

For example, Amazon News joined social media platform X in early March, warning consumers that the e-commerce platform saw a 33% increase in customer service spoofing scams on social media for the months between December and February 2024.

Amazon’s warnings give consumers good reason to think about posting complaints about their company or product on social media.

According to Amazon, the scammers are monitoring customer complaints in social media comments. The scammer then responds using fake accounts. A bad actor may lead you to suspicious links, seeking personal information and money, and transferring conversations to private messages.

Of course, if you think a little ironic, you might imagine a large company like Amazon wants to counteract every grip that has been published.

However, consumer watchdogs have confirmed that it is a robust tip to avoid posting complaints on social media. There, include everyone, including criminals who want “help” you can see them.

By impersonating a legitimate customer support business, criminals will catch you off guard and trick you into handing over money and personal information that will later be used for fraud.

Posting a complaint will help scammers target you

Amy Nofiger, director of victim support for the AARP fraud watch network, said he doesn’t want to circumvent the company’s traditional way of handling complaints by posting issues on social media, given that scammers have new tactics to target frustrated consumers.

The AARP network’s toll free helpline said daily that it was receiving calls regarding customer service-related scams. AARP Bulletin highlighted the growing issues in its May/June issue, including customer service fraud.

After that story was run, Nofiger said many consumers who had not even realised they had been scams began calling for helplines at 877-908-3360.

Going to online public spaces like Reddit, PissedConsumer, X, and more is still a popular way for people who release the steam and perhaps even get attention from real companies.

Unfortunately, the con artist loves to hit when people are most vulnerable, such as when the plane is cancelled while they are about to reach their granddaughter’s wedding in California.

You are already in a very emotional state. And why not welcome someone to reach out to see their posts in a way that finds your other flight?

Consumer Watchdog also warns that scammers can create fake message boards that recommend the site for fake phone numbers or customer service.

Clues that you are dealing with scammers: they want you money ahead of time. They say you can get a discount by paying your bill using American Express gift cards and other gift cards. They are changing their storylines to worry about money stolen from bank accounts and some kind of money laundering investigation.

Nofziger said he is actually talking to a scammer who asks for a credit card number when real trouble begins, so he covers the additional $500 cost of rebooking another ticket.

On the day we chatted on the phone, Nofziger said she was monitoring the helpline and had already heard of two consumers who came across a customer service-related scam where the scammer pretended to be eBay and Amazon customer support.

In the past, the helpline has heard from people who have come across scammers who are pretending to be Wells Fargo, Spectrum, and Jaco’s customer service.

If you have one issue, you don’t need to generate another issue that could lead to scammers losing a lot of money when you’re trying to rebook your flight or challenge a purchase with a credit card.

Google Customer Service can cause trouble

I’ve written about a variety of customer service scams, including Crooks impersonating a utility and other scams, including payment apps.

Utility scams start when you move to a new home and require you to open an account such as DTE Energy, a Detroit-based utility. Some people are scam when they search for phone numbers on Google and find fake numbers for utility directed at scammers. One Michigan consumer reported last year that he lost $250 to a scammer in the fees to open a DTE Energy account.

Cash App, a popular platform used to transfer money, faced serious problems as a scammer who posed as a customer service rep for cash apps several years ago. For several years, the cash app had no live customer support line at that time, according to federal regulators.

According to the Consumer Financial Protection Agency, some consumers, known as customer support phone numbers for fake cash apps, were instructed by customer service representatives for fake cash apps to download malware called “remote support applications” or “remote access tools.”

After the consumer has followed the instructions, the offender may remove or transfer funds from the consumer’s cash app account to his account.

Cash App then added customer service. The blog notes that payment apps have “how customers can contact directly, including live phone support, email, real-time in-app messaging, and in-app dispute submission tools.”

Online Notes on Cash App: “Criminals can pretend to be cash apps via email, text, phone or social media.”

Consumers can reach cash support by calling 800-969-1940. According to the Cash App, “This is the only phone number that customers can seek Cash app support.”

Nofziger warned that customer support scammers can hide many times behind unsolicited text messages that suggest that credit cards have fraudulent fees and suspicious activity in their bank accounts. You cannot click on these links or respond to such calls either.

In some cases, scams can turn into situations where CON artists can remotely access their computers and install malware on their computers. If you are not properly logged out of your online bank account, the scammer may have access to your bank account.

If you are dealing with flight delays or cancellations, you will usually want to reach out to the airline carefully.

Airline customer service scams have collided with consumers who searched for phone numbers on Google as scammers attempted to get delays or cancellations. According to last year’s Better Business Bureau alerts, some scammers try to trick consumers by creating flight cancellation notifications when they are trying to contact an airline’s customer service agent.

According to the BBB, scammers are known to create fake ticket booking sites or customer service numbers to charge travelers to reschedule fake flights.

For example, Delta Air Lines allows you to find contact information on Delta.com and the Fly Delta app. In some cases, the airline may have a phone bank at an airport dedicated to customer service, if there is a delay or flight cancellation.

If you want to make a call, make sure you have the actual delta number at 800-221-1212.

We live in a strange world when it comes to fraud. You can’t ignore the possibility that a scammer is out to help yourself with your money, including hiding behind fake customer service.

Vehicles attack people during Liverpool celebration

0

play

The vehicle was arrested on May 26 after several people were hit by a parade celebrating the Liverpool Football Club’s Premier League title, British authorities said.

Authorities said “pedestrian count” was hit after the team’s open-top coach carried players and coaching staff through Liverpool in England for the victory parade. Merseyside police said a “53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area” was arrested after crash.

“A wide range of investigations are underway to establish the situation leading up to the conflict,” police said in a statement posted to X. Authorities have asked people not to speculate on the circumstances leading up to the incident in Liverpool’s city centre.

The social media video appeared to show the car driving at speed to the street-lined fans, at one point, appearing to be moving away from the most crowded areas. Police soon surround the vehicle, with other videos showing an angry fan trying to reach the driver.

The number of people injured in the crash was not immediately known.

“People were running and screaming.”

Police previously said a car near a parade of British professional soccer teams collided with a pedestrian in the evening after 6pm local time. The vehicle was stopped at the scene and the man was taken into custody.

British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer said he is up to date with Liverpool’s development.

“The Liverpool scene is horrifying. My thoughts are with all the people injured or affected,” he said in a post on X.

Interior Secretary Yvette Cooper praised police and emergency services for “their quick response to truly shocking and horrifying scenes.”

Sonny Singh, who was celebrating with his two sons, told the Guardian that he saw an injured teenager and dozens of people passing by him “crying and angry” shortly after the crash.

“People were running, screaming… I saw a boy when I was probably around 15. He was bleeding with his legs. There were a lot of people there,” he told the news outlet.

A tragedy-damaged sport celebration

Liverpool sealed the title in four games last month, ending the season with a 10-point lead over second-place Arsenal in the English Premier League, England’s top tier professional soccer league.

Liverpool officially lifted the league trophy after a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday.

During the celebration before Monday, players and staff waved to the crowd from the open-top bus with the words “ours.” Red flares illuminated along the route and were decorated on the sides as they ran from the Allerton maze to Brandel Street.

In a statement posted to X, the Liverpool Football Club said it was in direct contact with local police about the incident that took place towards the end of the trophy parade.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this serious incident,” the club’s statement said. “We will continue to provide full support to emergency services and local governments dealing with this incident.”

The May 26th incident is the latest in a series of sports celebrations that have been undermined by tragedy. In the US, two people were shot at the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Parade in February. And in 2024, shootings at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Championship Parade killed his mother and injured 20 people.

Iran says it’s ready to compromise with Trump, suggesting that we understand that red line

0

Tehran, Iran
CNN

Iran is open to compromise on its nuclear program in talks with the US, but uranium enrichment remains unnegotiable, a spokesman for Tehran’s Foreign Ministry told CNN, indicating that Washington understands this position.

“If we are intended to ensure that Iran’s nuclear program is not weaponized, I think that’s simply something we can do,” Esmail Baghhai, a spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, told Tehran on Monday.

Baghaei was asked by CNN how compromises can be reached in consultations.

However, he adds that Iran’s rights to nuclear energy must be protected, reflecting his long-standing position on the talks.

“If (our) intention is to deprive Iranians of their right to peaceful nuclear energy, then as long as I think it really challenges the whole process,” he added.

After US Iran moved forward in negotiations for the fifth round in Rome on Friday, President Donald Trump expressed optimism that progress is being made on Sunday.

“We talked very well with Iran yesterday and today. Let’s see what happens. But I think there’s good news on the Iranian front,” Trump told reporters in New Jersey that he is preparing to return to Washington.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi, who was called “one of the most specialized rounds of negotiations,” said the key issue was “too complicated to resolve in two or three meetings.”

The Trump administration was bullish on demand that Tehran end all uranium enrichment, but all uranium enrichment — essential for both civil and military nuclear applications — Baguey said the actions of US negotiators’ consultations suggest a softer approach.

“The fact that we have been in discussion so far means we understand that Iran has a certain level of understanding that under no circumstances can its right to peaceful nuclear energy,” he said.

In March, Rafael Grossi, head of the UN nuclear watchdog, said Iran’s stockpile of uranium enriched uranium had risen by half in three months. “Iran is the only nuclear-free state that is enriched at this level, causing serious concern to me,” he said.

Iran’s top leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei publicly rejected the possibility of a deal and took US negotiators ahead of Friday’s talks. “Please don’t talk about nonsense,” he urged them last week with a post attributed to him on his official website.

However, Baghaei was optimistic about the possibility of an agreement between the US and Iran, and foreseen a “win” for both sides. “If you really have the will, there’s a way,” he said. “There are not just one method, but so many.”

Several US officials said last week that the US had obtained a new intelligence news report indicating that Israel is preparing to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, even as the Trump administration pursues a diplomatic contract with Tehran.

Baghey said Iran was determined before the threat of a one-sided Israeli military strike against Iran.

“Iranians will not be encouraged by any kind of pressure,” he said. “When it comes to using that language, Iranians will bring one voice. We certainly protect national security.”

On the anniversary, Trump celebrated the “ultimate sacrifice” and trumpeted his victory

0

President Trump’s remarks at Arlington National Cemetery contrasted with his more militant public comments throughout the long holiday weekend.

play

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump gave a historic anniversary speech after placing a wreath on the graves of unknown soldiers.

The second term’s Republican president’s remarks contrasted with his other more militant public comments throughout the long holiday weekend, including all the cap messages sent hours before his political opponents and federal judges.

Involving the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution, Trump shared the names and ages of several settlers killed in the Battle of Lexington and Concord in 1775.

“The brave Minutemen and the farm boy have become the first to give their lives for a country that has yet to have a name,” Trump said. “Their death… ignites the flames of liberty now illuminated and inspires everyone in the whole world.”

Trump also highlighted the Golden Star family from the country’s recent war, in conjunction with the anniversary speech given during his first administration.

He mentioned Senior Chief Shannon Kent, a naval crypto engineer and mother of two who was killed in Syria during the suicide bombing technique in January 2019.

“Shannon was in the fifth battle scene when she was killed when she was embedded in a team hunting ISIS terrorists through the streets of Syria,” Trump said. Kent’s husband Joe is a former Army Green Beret and CIA paramilitary officer and is currently appointed to lead the National Center for Counterterrorism.

Vice President J.D. Vice President Pete Hegses and Air Force Secretary General Dan Kane joined Arlington’s Trump, chairman of the co-director. Born in 1868 as a day to remember the death of the US civil war, Memorial Day was standardized as a federal holiday honouring all fallen members of the US military, beginning in 1971.

Vance and Hegseth reiterated the administration’s purpose in avoiding foreign conflicts in their remarks.

“The best way to respect what we fell is to ask the next generation to make the ultimate sacrifice when they absolutely have to do,” Vance said.

Referring to the Arlington War deaths, Heggs said, “The obligation we owe to these men is peace, and it can only be achieved through strength.”

Trump Anniversary Truth Social Post

Except for a brief interlude in which Trump described “not checking our borders” and “a long, hard four years” that mostly avoided partisan jabs in his address.

However, in a May 24 opening speech at the US military academy in West Point, Trump used his holidays to chase political enemies around the country.

“A happy anniversary for all, including Scum, who tried to destroy our country through the radical left heart that distorted the past four years,” Trump wrote on May 26th of the True Society.

And while addressing the country’s latest army officer, the president, who has been married three times, detailed the risks of a “trophy wife,” and celebrated the end of “critical racial theory or transgender in this country, or for all those forced by brave men and women to others about it.”

At the grave, the president also publicly stated his excitement over the number of iconic events that will occur in the coming years.

“God did that”: Trump on Army’s 250th birthday, World Cup and Olympic timing

When Trump spoke about the “huge and ultimate sacrifice” of American soldiers over the past 250 years, he nurtured the fact that he had planned to celebrate the 250th anniversary of its founding on June 14th at the parade.

“We’re going to have a big, big celebration,” Trump said. “I’m happy I missed that second term… because I won’t be your president because of that.”

Trump, who lost the 2020 election, would have missed the event if he was elected for a second consecutive term. During his current term, Trump is also expected to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This will be the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, in collaboration with Canada and Mexico.

Trump said God had intended the three regiment of events.

“Look at what I have now,” he said. “I have it all. It’s amazing how things work. God did it.”

After the ceremony, Trump immediately set out to play golf.

No, Trump. “Crazy” Putin hasn’t changed. The question is, are you there?

0

CNN

“I’ve always had a very good relationship with Russian Vladimir Putin, but something happened to him,” President Donald Trump responded to an intensive Russian drone and missile strike in Ukraine over the weekend.

In fact, despite the White House urgentness, Kremlin leaders have only continued their policies to crush wars in Ukraine, and air attacks seem to be a completely regular feature.

The real problem is, if Trump has changed, or at least his attitude towards Putin began to change in what appears to be our efforts increasingly wasted to build peace in Ukraine, then Trump boasted of what he could do – don’t forget –

French President Emmanuel Macron certainly believes that the spiritual horn has turned, telling Vietnamese reporters that Trump is “absolutely crazy” his Russian counterpart. The US president means that Putin “lied” to “lied” about the war in Ukraine, and hopes that Trump’s words will “translate into actions.”

But the records suggest that it is not.

The term, which has consistently said Trump has a strong relationship with Putin, is the sixth time he has publicly expressed his impatience and indeed annoyance towards the Kremlin boss.

In March, Trump revealed he was “offended” with Putin for refusing to agree to a 30-day ceasefire.

In April, Trump called for a “stop Vladimir” after a Russian missile strike in Kiev killed dozens of people.

“Maybe he really doesn’t want to stop the war, he’s just bashing me,” Trump later meditated.

Trump’s scouts are routinely accompanied by expressions of personal disappointment and threats of possible retaliation, like secondary tariffs on “all oil coming out of Russia” and “additional sanctions” of unknown identity.

After Putin’s latest responsibilities, he asked once more whether he would consider putting more sanctions on Russia, Trump replied, “Absolutely.”

So far, there has been no real indication that Trump is ready to use considerable economic leverage at his freedom to force the Kremlin to reconsider his hardlining stance.

That’s not the case in the US Senate. There, a cross-party bill was introduced to make it even more difficult for Russia to fund the war.

The bill, currently supported by 81 senators, not only proposes more direct sanctions against Russia, but also secondary sanctions such as a massive 500% tariff on countries that purchase Russia’s energy.

However, measures that have a serious impact on the already vulnerable and oil-dependent Russian economy are highly controlled, as they punish China, India and the European Union.

Of course, there is a possibility that Trump could throw his weight behind the bill. But so far, given his consistent resistance to confronting and punishing the Kremlin, it would be a huge change in a big direction.

Perhaps the latest violent attacks of violence in Ukraine may further convince the already frustrated US president that he will not be able to quickly put together a war party.

And amid all his rage and fierceness towards Putin, Trump may simply choose to leave.

Read this before you get your first Social Security check

0

Many people look forward to a time when they are eligible for Social Security. And that’s understandable. Because who doesn’t want the government to send them a check for life. However, before you prepare to retire and live with Social Security, there are important things to know about the monthly benefits of those.

I have realistic expectations about social security

Many people assume that they are set up when their initial Social Security check begins, as their benefits cover the costs from that point in time. But what many may not notice is that the amount of money you pay each month is not the same amount you earn from your job, and not the nearest.

It is a big misconception that Social Security is designed to replace your pre-retirement salary. If you are the average earner, you can expect Social Security to replace 40% of the amount you earned (or earned) from your job – and it assumes that no profit reductions will occur. If Social Security is forced to reduce benefits on a large scale, you could earn less.

It is true that living expenses for many people are now declining as they retire. But here are some of your expenses that may increase when your career is over:

  • Your home may be aging, so home repairs
  • Because you may be at home using utilities, electricity, water and other resources.
  • Entertainment, because if you don’t have a job that you’re busy with the week, you have more time to fill in more time
  • Medical, as medical issues may creep up as you get older, and as you may have higher costs under Medicare than under your employer sponsored health plan

Therefore, it is not a good idea to assume that a monthly social security check is sufficient to cover all your needs. While 100% of your previous income may not need to reach retirement, 40% of your previous salary may not be able to reduce that at all.

How to save money for retirement

Finding money in your retirement account is not easy if other bills are paid. However, leaving on social security alone could lead to a financially demanding place.

To do this, try donating something every month to your retirement savings plan. If the money isn’t that tight, it’s one month, or another $250.

Of course, the best thing to do is automate the same monthly contribution to your retirement plan. That way you will stay well and save consistently. However, if you can’t commit to it, do your best to fund one of these accounts as long as your finances allow.

The guaranteed monthly salary promise is a good thing. This is why many retirees are grateful for Social Security. But don’t make the mistake of assuming that when these Social Security benefits start to appear, you’ll all be set.

French leader Emmanuel Macron gives a video of his wife pushing him in

0

play

French President Emmanuel Macron has downplayed the viral video that appears to be showing his wife, with French First Lady Bridget Macron pushing her face away before leaving the plane, according to a statement from Elicie Palace.

The clip was filmed after the couple landed in Hanoi, Vietnam as part of their tour of Southeast Asia. The video shows President Macron standing in the open doorway of an aircraft. The president immediately maintains his calmness in a smile and waving before leaving the frame and leaving the aircraft with his wife.

President Macron dismissed speculation that the First Lady pushed him into him.

“There’s a video showing you kidding and teasing your wife. It’s kind of a geographical planet catastrophe, even those who came up with the theory to explain it,” Macron said. “We’re infusing horses around us and we’re really joking with our wife.”

USA Today contacted Elise Palace for comment.

The President criticizes weaponization from the context clip

Macron did not deny the clip’s legitimacy, but criticized the videographer for disproportionating it.

“The videos are all real, yes, sometimes people tamper with them, but people attribute all sorts of nonsense to them,” he said.

His office later reflected his feelings, adding that the pair simply “depressurized at the end” before the trip, ABC News reported.

“It’s a moment of accomplice. That was all that was needed to give conspiracy theorists ammunition,” his office said according to ABC News.

The couple have been married since 2007 after meeting at Le Providence Catholic High in northern France, with the president being a student and the first lady being a teacher.

Everything we know

Spoiler alert! Below you will find details about HBO’s “The Last of Us” season 2 finale as well as the video game “The Last of Us Part II.”

Well, that’s one way to end the TV season.

The seventh and final episode of HBO’s “The Last of Us” season 2 brought hero Ellie (Bella Ramsey) to the brink. In one episode of her, she is almost drowned, almost lynched, kills and rescues two people, including a pregnant woman, but is soon cornered by enemy Abby (Katelyn Dever), who Ellie is on a mission to kill.

And the scene ends when the ultimate conflict between Abby and Ellie reaches the climax of bullet charging. Suddenly, we did a three-day flashback, awakening in a compound that was converted to football stadium for her militia, the Washington Liberation Front.

So, what does this mean for Season 3? Producer Craig Mazin promises that “everything will be revealed,” but clues can also be seen in video games. This season and next is based on “The Last of Us Part II.” If the series continues to track the game in close proximity as it has been, we will analyze what you can expect in Season 3. Spoiler alert: Ramsey may have a little break to kill fungal zombies for a while.

Kaitlyn Dever will take center stage in “The Last of Us” season 3

Get ready to become “Us” main star in Season 3. If the game is any indication, Ramsey’s Ellie is rarely included. The closing scene of the season 2 finale shows Abby awake at WLF headquarters on “Seattle Day.” This means that the series retains the structure of the game’s narrative.

In the game, players spend hours controlling Ellie in their quest for revenge against Abby for Joel (Pedro Pascal) murder, as depicted in the show. This culminates in the theatre with Ellie and Abby’s conflict. Millions of gamers threw controllers across the room in frustration. The game then went back in time and followed everything she was there during the three days when Ellie and Dina (played by Isabella Merced in the series) were in Seattle, assuming the player controls Abby.

From there, players stick to Abby’s perspective almost throughout the game. It takes hours for the story to return to the theatre. There, Ellie’s fate is finally revealed, and the game ends soon after.

How much of the upcoming season is dedicated to Abby will depend on whether producers Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman have decided to end the adaptation of “Part II.” This means that the show is finished considering there are no more games in Season 3. However, as Mazin suggests, if the game changes to more seasons, Ramsey could not do anything in Season 3 until around the finale.

Abby’s now-deceased friend returns for a support role

Also, fans should expect a shake-up of the supporting cast, given that the shift to Abby means characters like Dina and Tommy (Gabriel Luna) will be present in the next story.

However, Abby’s friends Nora (Tatty Gabriel), Owen (Spencer Lord), and Mel (Ariella Burler) are tortured and murdered by Ellie in season 2 and come back in search of a key role later in the game.

In the season 2 finale, WLF leader Isaac (Jeffrey Wright) learns that Abby’s entire crew has become AWOL, which will be a large part of her storyline in season 3.

Owen’s relationship with Abby will also be a major focus. Explore in in-game flashbacks. This could potentially get its own episodes like Joel and Ellie Flashback episodes from Season 2.

The war between Cerafite and the WLF is explored further

In season 2, viewers get a glimpse into the war between Abby’s militia and a religious cult known as the Cerafite, but they are infuriating and vague.

This conflict will be the center of the next part of the story, so it’s safe to say that Light will return as Isaac. In the season 2 finale, Isaac aims to lead the attack on Serafite. It starts on the screen as Ellie sets off to find Abby. In “Part II,” this attack was made into one of the most epic and visually stunning sequences in the game. This means that there may be a battle episode equivalent to “Game of Thrones” in Season 3.

Also note that Abby will cast news about a pair of important new characters from Rev and Yara, brother and sister Seraphytes whom she meets along her journey. In particular, the role of Lev, a trans boy, could become a star-making role for a young actor around the age of 13.

Don’t expect any more Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal will almost certainly not return to any of Season 3, but he may have if the show tracks the game more closely.

The show dedicated an episode of flashbacks to jump before season 2 to reveal what happened between Joel and Ellie, but the game sprinkled those flashbacks throughout the story, saving the second half. In fact, Joel and Ellie’s emotional pouch conversation from the second season episode “The Price” is the last to penultimate scene of the game.

The show could potentially be able to replace it with a new flashback scene in future episodes. But perhaps fans have really seen Joel’s end. And given Pascal’s busy schedule, including Marvel’s new “Fantastic Four” film, a new Ariastar film at the Cannes Film Festival, and more future projects, it’s not so surprising that his time in the Apocalypse will end and be forever.

Why is Kendrick Lamar different from the rest of the music now?

0

play

Kendrick Lamar cleaned up this year’s Grammy Awards with a “Not Like Us” stab wound.

The Compton rapper said, “The guy I represent… he has morality, he is valuable, he believes in something.”

It also definitively determines his outlier status in music, an artist who can earn the respect of industry elites – he won the Pulitzer Prize for music in 2018 – retains credibility with hip-hop fans.

Lamar was the first rapper to place three albums simultaneously in the top ten of the Billboard 200. He is a major nominee for the 2025 American Music Awards and has won more nods than Taylor Swift and Beyoncé on his fan voice show.

He is also with his friends and collaborator SZA in one of the most profitable tours of the year, a career-defining spectacle (an unusual venue for hip-hop artists) announced at the stadium.

As Lamar returns to his hometown for the first of three concerts at Sophie Stadium near LA, we see how he is different from anyone else in music now.

Kendrick Lamar is at the “commerce pinnacle of his career.”

Calling Lamar’s recent eruption in the mainstream a breakout sounds almost ridiculous. He was a barrier-breaking pop culture acquisition.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a calendar year for a rapper like Kendrick Lamar had,” said Justin Tinsley, a Lamar fan since the rapper dropped a “overly devoted” mixtape in 2010.

Tinsley, a senior sports and culture reporter with ESPN andscape, has delved into the cultural significance of other marquee hip hop stars, delving into recent infamous biography of Big (2022’s “It Was Everything a Dream: The World That Made Him”) and ESPN podcasts about Nipsey Hussle (2021’s “The King of Crenshaw”).

Lamar’s illuminated music output – illustrated in the current “GNX” album – five 2025 Grammy Awards, the most viewed Super Bowl halftime show ever, bundled with his coolly confident Grand National Tour, providing information to fans such as Tinsley to decide Lamar.

However, Lamar’s embrace is not limited to the expansion of his mainstream appeal. The praise was praised not only by the music industry’s recognition, but also by an array of familiar names such as former President Barack Obama, Eminem, Misty Copeland, Taylor Swift, and U2.

Need more evidence of Lamar’s stratospheric status? Check out ticket receipts and music charts.

According to the tour data site, the $11.8 million gross at AT&T Stadium on April 26th is the biggest distance by the rapper as a headlining or co-headlining artist in a single concert. The show – SZA’s Real Timeshare – presents both Lamar’s artistic tendencies and his intentional flow in dim lighting and socially provocative videos, highlighted in hits such as “DNA” and “humble.”

On the charts, Lamar’s current collaboration with SZA ballad “Luther,” named after Soul Great Luther Vandros, samples a duet with Sheryl Lynn. Standing surpasses nine-week records with a song featuring only Soloman and Woman since 1981: The iconic duet of Lionel Richie and Diana Ross, “Endless Love.”

Lamar’s “commitment to storytelling” sets him apart

Hours before Lamar and SZA began their tour at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis in April, the dedicated apprentice, identified Mo B and themselves, sat at a nearby hotel bar before meeting with the same five college friends that Lamar plays on all tours.

The Minneapolis native who now lives in Chicago, the MO was flying especially to witness him performing his first stadium show.

“Many artists get confused about who they are when they’re in fame, but he doubled it and attracted new and younger fans,” Mo said. “I always tell my friends, who would have thought he would grow up, what would have been better?

Despite critical acclaim, including Pulitzer for his “damn” album, the award was awarded to a first-time jazz or classical artist with 22 Grammy Awards (later behind the three of Leader Jay-Z) trobes with 57 nominations, but Lamar is skillfully neat between mainstream worship and unreliable credibility with his fans.

The reason is simple on its surface: his storytelling.

After hearing the intertwining of “ROTC”, Lamar’s anti-mission in the music industry, and his personal struggles from his “overly devoted” album, Mo became obsessed with the music of Rap Luminary.

“His storytelling stuck with me and solidified my fandom (Lamar’s 2011 debut album) ‘section.80’,” Mo said. “He’s like making a documentary of his life with his music.”

Tinsley, who considers Lamar’s 2012 major label breakthrough “Good Kid, Maad City” to be one of the top 10 rap albums in history, believes the storytellers are holding back to affirm Lamar’s music admiration.

“He was one of the most successful rap artists, but he hasn’t sacrificed the soul of his music. He hears him and you can hear him pulling from what he lived in,” he said. “His music has a commitment to storytelling, but he is very theatrical and visceral.”

The boldness of Lamar’s music is important

Storytelling is just part of Lamar’s genius.

Marcus J. Moore, author of the University of Maryland at College Park and a teacher in music journalism, began working on his book, The Butterfly Effect: How Kendrick Lamar ignited the soul of Black America.

Five years after its release in October 2020, Moore saw Lamar Blossom from “a crude upstart where he was unsure about his abilities,” and felt that Lamar “realizes the music he makes and the message he has is essential.

In addition to that perspective, we dive deep into the audacity of music.

Lamar will turn 38 on June 17th, but he has already proven his skills in multiple genres, mixing with elements of pop (“all stars”) and rocks (“humble”) and harsh rap with jazz (“rigamortis”).

As demonstrated by over 50,000 fans at the Minneapolis Tour Kick-off, this pledge to artistic integrity is another reason why Lamar continues to generate a diverse, multi-generational fan base.

“Kendrick always marched towards the beats of his own drums and set the records he wanted to make,” Moore said. “‘Good Girl, Murdo City’ was incredible and could have come out easily in Part 2. But he said he said he said this strange jazz record “to make butterflies.” And he said, “I’m going to make this loud record and call it ‘shit’. That’s what he did.

Did Drake’s feud burn Kendrick Lamar’s popularity?

Part of Lamar’s marathon year returned in March 2024.

Forgetting “Big Three…it’s just a big me,” Lamar rhymes. This is Drake, J.Crown of theatre. Cole, this is a clear reference to Lamar as the top three rapper in Drake’s 2023 song, “First Person Shooting Game.”

Then it was a few months of mean and controversial lyrical slaps between Lamar and Drake. In January, Drake filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group alleging that he slandered Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” which allegedly hinted at the Canadian rapper as a “certified pedophile.” UMG, which represents both Drake and Lamar, calls the lyrics of Diss Track “rhetorical exaggeration” and moves to dismiss the case.

“That drake beef has been brewed for over a decade,” Tinsley said. “I don’t think Kendrick did that with the intention of ‘Maybe I’ll get some Grammys for this.’ By chance, he and Drake are two of the biggest names in the genre.

Moore agrees to the promotion from Lamar, a height of feuds at mainstream outlets, where Drake is in television background (acted in the teenage drama “degrassi” from 2001 to 2008) and for his pop crossover appeal.

But he said, “The real raphead knew Drake couldn’t stand the chance. He’s not a rapper, but Kendrick is an old-fashioned hip-hop student who performs at Halftime after Kendrick wiped out the name and became a huge hit.

Aston Villa blocks referee decision after missing out on Champions League qualification

0

CNN

Aston Villa was upset by the referee’s decision to say the club is a “major contributor” by missing out on a Champions League location.

The controversial moment in question happened in the 73rd minute of the Villa match against Manchester United on Sunday, when the Premier League match was played.

United goalkeeper Altay Bayındır groped for the ball at the edge of his area and was able to net the ball, owned by Villa Forward Morgan Rogers.

The incident would have given Villa a 1-0 lead, but umpire Thomas Bramal decided that Berundir had control of the ball and was quickly blown away for a unified free kick. As a result, the target was unbearable and the incident could not be reviewed by the Video Assistant Judge (VAR).

“Aston Villa can confirm what the club has written to (referee) PGMOL and raise concerns about the official selection process for today’s post-match match against Manchester United at Old Trafford,” the club said in a statement on Sunday.

“This high interest surrounding today’s equipment makes the club believe that a more experienced referee should be appointed. Of the 10 referees in the entire Premier League today, Bramar was the second most experienced.”

“In the end, we acknowledge that our outcomes will remain the same, but we believe it is important to address the way we choose.

Emery induces his frustration during Sunday's match.

CNN Sports contacted PGMOL, which oversees the host in British football, commenting on the incident and on Bramall’s behalf. The Premier League declined to comment.

According to Sky Sports, Bramall hosts 11 Premier League matches this season, with 17 referees taking on more games.

In an interview with TNT Sports, Villa Manager Unai Emery said that Bramall admitted to him that a mistake had occurred and that the play should have been allowed to continue.

“We have to accept that,” Emery said. “Of course, that was a mistake, and a huge mistake.”

Amado Diallo gave United the lead shortly after the incident before a penalty from Christian Eriksen in the 87th minute, completing a 2-0 home victory.

The draw and victory would have seen Villa, who played half a match against 10 men after a red card from goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

However, the club will instead play in the second tier Europa League after finishing sixth in points with Newcastle United and falling behind in goal differences.

The Champions League qualifiers offer a major financial boost for the club. The 36 teams that competed in last season each received payments of approximately $21.2 million (1,862 million euros). In contrast, Europa League qualifiers are worth around $4.9 million (4.31 million euros) for the club.

“It’s difficult to take, especially in situations,” midfielder John McGinn told TNT Sports. “None of us in the dressing room feel that anyone watching the game deserves to win. Man United deserved to win…but the decision is incredible.

He added: “It’s very difficult, especially when the impact is so big as a team and as a club.”

King Charles visits Canada amid delicate trade talks between the US and the UK

0

CNN

British King Charles III arrives in Canada on Monday, visiting as head of state on his first visit, conducting a highly symbolic mouth-hist stop trip seen as a show of many support following the increasingly worn relationship between Ottawa and Washington.

During the two-day visit, 76-year-old Charles will give a speech to Canadian parliament, celebrating the country’s cultural heritage and diversity. He is accompanied by his wife, Camilla.

The monarch is still undergoing cancer treatment — attends the opening of the parliament on Tuesday, where he delivers a ceremonial “speech” to the senators. The address is the second mark that the sovereign opened its parliament.

Parliamentary speeches are usually given by the Governor, the representative of the British monarch of Canada.

The timing of Charles’ visit is noteworthy as US President Donald Trump permanently mentions his desire to make Canada a 51st state, and promotes the false claim that the Canadian masses prefer the idea that they will be annexed by the United States. In fact, this proposal is overwhelmingly unpopular among Canadians as a whole.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney put his strength in March on the tide of anti-Trump sentiment, but repeatedly condemned the US president’s remarks. In his election victory speech, Carney warned that Canada would never give in to Trump’s relentless provocation.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Kearney (left) and President Donald Trump (right) in an oval office on May 6th.

Carney doubled that message last month while exchanging cards with him in his oval office.

“As we know from real estate, there are some places that aren’t for sale,” Carney told Trump, “(Canada) isn’t for sale. It’s not for sale.”

Ralph Goodale, Canada’s envoy to the UK, told reporters Ralph Goodale, Canada’s envoy to the UK, Ralph Goodale, Canada’s envoy to the UK, told reporters.

“The Prime Minister (Karney) revealed that Canada is not currently for sale, but has made it clear that it has not been for sale so far,” Goodrail told journalists last week.

“The king as head of state strengthens the power and strength of his message,” Goodale said.

Also, Charles needs to take a careful diplomatic tightrope walk as British Prime Minister Kiel’s priority seeks stronger ties with Trump with Ukraine and continues to pursue economic and trade assurance.

Carney said last week that his compatriots were “unimpressed” after Charles extended his second state invitation to the US president. Trump will be the first modern-day elected political leader hosted twice by British monarchs.

“It was when we were very clear about issues of sovereignty,” Carney said.

According to Buckingham Palace, King Charles and Queen Camilla have made the gravity “mindful” of their upcoming visits, according to British PA Media News Agency.

“The King and Queen are very excited about this program and should be noted that it is a short visit, but hopefully a shocking visit,” the PA reported, citing a palace spokesman.

We can help you choose the best financial advisor for your retirement

0

A good financial advisor is worth gaining weight with gold. However, not all financial advisors specialize in retirement-related issues, this is where retirement advisors appear. Resignation advisors are financial experts who can help you plan and manage your retirement. Whether you are late in your retirement plan or want to have your current plan checked with another eye, no one is more capable than a good retirement advisor.

Here we will explain how you are working with someone who is planning to quit your job and exceed your needs and goals.

Check their fiduciary responsibility

If a person is a trustee, they are legally required to act in your best interests. In other words, they earn a fee, so they can’t sell your investment to you. Everything they do within the scope of advice must be to benefit you in the long term. When looking for a trustee, look for a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). RIAS is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission or with the state regulatory authority and is retained in the fiduciary standards.

Financial advisors need experience

Choose someone with a large track record in their retirement planning, especially if you have complex financial needs. It’s true that every financial advisor must start somewhere, but they don’t want a beginner to help develop a proven retirement plan.

You should click with your financial advisor

Once you find someone you believe in, schedule a consultation to ensure that your approach to retirement planning matches your retirement goals with the risks you will be willing to take.

Simply put, some people don’t gel. You are on the right track whether the retirement advisors you meet are transparent and can respond to your questions and explain financial concepts in a way that you clearly understand, even if you are asking. You may want to leave the meeting and continue searching unless you understand everything your advisor has told you.

Get referrals for a financial advisor

No one will be more honest with you than friends and family. Ask people you trust for recommendations. Once you see some names, check out the online reviews to get outsiders’ views.

How will a Financial Advisor be paid?

Some advisors charge only and charge hourly rates, flat rates, or percentages of assets. Others may earn a portion of your income from selling your financial products. According to the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), fee-only rewards are the most transparent and objective method. Minimizes disputes and ensures that the retirement advisor will function as a trustee.

How a retirement advisor becomes a game changer

Here are some ways a well-trained retirement advisor can make a difference:

  • guidance: Working with a retirement advisor means providing expert assistance when you need it the most.
  • Personalization: A strong retirement advisor can help you develop a plan that matches your specific goals.
  • Risk Management: Resignation advisors can help you avoid taking risks outside your comfort zone.
  • Long-term plan: A retirement advisor will help you design a plan that will last for you through retirement.

Given that you can spend decades of retirement, you can spend time finding the perfect advisor for you. When you learn that they are trustees with great experience and have an approach to retirement planning that matches yours, you know that you found them.

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell urges Princeton alumni to protect American democracy

0

The Supreme Court recently suggested that the president cannot fire the head of the country’s central banking system to protect independence.

play

The American Central Bank System Head encouraged Princeton University’s 2025 graduates to do “anything necessary to maintain and strengthen democracy” in their May 25 opening speech at Ivy League University.

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell also spoke about the importance of public services and how the country’s “great universities are the world’s vy hopes and important national assets” in its clear responsibilities of President Donald Trump’s war on elite colleges and universities.

But Powell is probably protected from Trump’s rage – he often receives it.

The Supreme Court in the May 22nd ruling appeared to be protected from Trump by Powell when the president slammed the firing of two independent members of the Labor Commission. Justice pointed out that the Federal Reserve is “individually structured” and is part of a “clear historical tradition” of independence. The Fed’s carve out suggests central bank leaders will enjoy stronger protections for Trump than other quasi-government groups.

The Fed chair, who graduated from Princeton with a degree in political science rather than economics in 1975, joked that he chose the wrong major at New Jersey schools.

“I was blasting one academic suggestion from my parents. This was to major in economics. “I’ll admit that after 13 years with the Fed, I was wrong about it!”
