Chief of Secret Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami was one of Iran’s most powerful men, overseeing the most powerful military divisions and reporting directly to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

On Friday he was killed in an Israeli lion strike that targeted Iran’s nuclear program and senior military leaders in attacks. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it will last for days.

Iranian state media reported that Salami was killed in a strike at the IRGC headquarters in Tehran. His death, along with other ranking members of Iranian military, could hamper Iran’s response to the attack, analysts say.

“Undoubtedly, Major General Salami was one of the most prominent commanders of the Islamic Revolution. It exists in all aspects of scientific, cultural, security and military jihad,” the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement on Friday.

“In every arena, he was on the forefront with a spirit of integrity, wisdom and dedication to the Supreme Leader, defending the revolution and the ideals of the Iranian people,” the statement added.

CNN security analyst Beth Sanner said removing salami is similar to taking out the chairman of the co-chief of staff. “I can imagine what Americans do,” she said.

According to US sanctions equipment born in 1960, Salami has been leading the secret IRGC since 2019.

In this position, I saw him command one of the most powerful tools equipped by the Iranian state. The Iranian state has helped to challenge it at home and project Iran’s power overseas.

The IRGC boasts its own intelligence communications agency, cyber operations unit, the Navy, Air Force and analysts. Analysts estimate that there will be a unit of up to 200,000 people under its command. He also oversaw Iran’s ballistic missile development, and Salami called for development during his tenure.

In 2019, he said for the IRGC ballistic missiles were “a way to end the airline story of American aircraft.”

Analysts say the IRGC funds and supports a vast network of militias across the region that it uses to attack the US and other military personnel in the Middle East.

The IRGC is also expected to provide material and support to Yemen’s Houtsis, allowing the group to attack international shipping in the Red Sea and launch missiles and drones in Israel.

Salami took the helm of the IRGC when Iran launched hundreds of drones and missiles in Israel on Israel’s first direct strike on Israeli territory.

Footage released by Iranian state media in January saw Salami inspect the media saying it was an underground military facility that played a role in these attacks.

Wearing green uniforms and short beards, Salami was salute by soldiers in a spongy underground complex and walked over the US and Israeli flags on the ground.

The site was currently building “new special missiles.”

Brett McGurk, CNN Global Affairs analyst who served as Middle East coordinator at the Biden White House, said Iran’s response to the Israeli attack could be retreated by Salami’s death and other top military leaders.

In a statement confirming Salami’s death, the IRGC said its command structure and other branches of the military are “fully prepared to provide a decisive and strict response.”

Salami was in the head when the IRGC fired down a Ukrainian passenger jet shortly after taking off from Tehran’s international airport, killing all 176 people on board.

According to Iran’s Mehr News Outlet, the unknown IRGC commander of the TOR M1 surface-to-air missile defense system, who fired down the plane, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.

Salami apologised for unintentionally shooting a Ukrainian plane down and asked for forgiveness.

Not only is the most powerful military institution in Iran, the IRGC has a profound impact on domestic politics and economy, expanding profits from construction, communications, automobiles and energy industries.

In 2022, Salami warned Iranian youth to stop protesting in large-scale protests that last weeks after 22-year-old Mahsa Amini’s death after he died after being detained by the “moral police,” allegedly failing to comply with the country’s conservative dress code.

“Today is the last day of the riot. Please don’t come again on the streets. What do you want in this country?” Salami said.

Over a million anchor power banks have been recalled after multiple fires and explosions have been reported, officials said.

More than 1.1 million Anker Powercore 10,000 power banks for sale in the United States have been affected by the recall, according to a Consumer Product Safety Commission warning posted Thursday, June 12th.

The recall is the only model of the affected battery is the A1263.

However, the Anker PowerCore 10000 is not the only charging device during a recall. Other Anker products such as the 334 Maggo 10K battery, 321 Power Bank (5K), and 535 Power Bank (20K) are also under similar recalls.

Anker says they will replace the affected devices, but in order for customers to receive the replacement, they will need to submit “model number, serial number, name, photo date, and a photo of the recalled power bank showing the word “recalled” written on the power bank, indicating the “recall” of the permanent marker.

According to the CPSC, 19 reports of minor injuries and explosions have been filed. This includes two reports of minor injuries and 11 reports of property damage totaling over $60,000.

According to the recall, the product was sold online from June 2016 to December 2022 on the Ankon website, Amazon, Newegg and eBay.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of former NFL All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown in Miami-Dade County (Florida).

The warrant originally reported by the Washington Post was signed by a judge on June 11th. It lists accusations of attempted murder with a firearm resulting from a non-boxing event on May 16th in Miami.

Brown and his representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment from USA Today Sports.

Brown was temporarily taken into custody after an argument in which gunshots were fired outside an event hosted by streamer Addin Ross. A video posted on social media is said to have shown Brown fighting some people and later jogging from the garage. Gunshots can be heard near the end of the video.

Brown posted an explanation of what happened on X on May 17th.

“I jumped at multiple individuals who tried to steal a gem and caused physical harm to me,” Brown wrote in part. “Contrary to the circulating of some videos, the police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I went home that night and wasn’t arrested (sic).”

He did not mention the gunshot in the statement, but said he was discussing with his lawyer “accusations appealing to individuals who jumped over me.”

In a live stream a few days later, Brown told Ross he didn’t remember what happened in the argument.

“Yeah, I got a CTE, I made it black,” Brown said. “I’m black, Addin. I don’t know what happened.”

The warrant reports details that officers responded to gunshots in the area. An out-of-the-room official who worked for security said he observed Brown in an argument after being told about the gunshot.

According to the warrant, passengers in the parking lot outside the venue identified Brown as a shooter to officers, but Brown was not carrying a weapon when officers tapped him. The detective later obtained a video that appeared to show Brown having a physical altercation with another man, and later appeared to run the man with the guard’s gun.

The cell phone video shows the victim and the victim shooting, according to the warrant.

Brown was arrested in Broward County, Florida in October 2023 and allegedly failed to pay child support.

Brown spent 12 seasons in the NFL: nine Pittsburgh Steelers and nine, one with the New England Patriots and two with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Steelers traded Brown for the Raiders in Las Vegas, but he was released before he went down with the team and later signed with the Patriots.

Each month, the Social Security Agency (SSA) releases a report called monthly statistics snapshots. This includes information on the number of Social Security beneficiaries and how much the average person will receive.

In the most recent reported month (May), the average Social Security benefits paid to retired workers reached an all-time high of $2,002.39. This was the first time the average has exceeded $2,000 a month, a massive increase of $1,917, the profits of the average retired worker a year ago.

Here are some important things to unpack. For one thing, benefits for retired workers are just one type of Social Security benefits. Of the 69.6 million Social Security beneficiaries in the United States, nearly 17 million have acquired other types of benefits, including survivor benefits, spousal benefits, and disability benefits.

Furthermore, this is a 4.5% increase in average profits since the end of 2024, significantly exceeding the 2.5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) established in 2025.

Finally, keep in mind that this is merely an average. Many Social Security recipients receive significantly more or less than average. So let’s take a closer look at all this.

Why did the average Social Security benefits increase so much?

As mentioned earlier, the average retired worker profits for May 2024 increased by 4.5% compared to the same month in 2024.

Of course, a 2.5% social security cost adjustment, or COLA, has a lot to do with it. But it does not explain all the increase in itself.

A major driver was the Social Security Equity Act, which increased the profits of millions (mainly former government officials), and its benefits were reduced by the Windfall exclusion provisions and other regulations. Many of the headlines regarding the law relate to retroactive payments in the past, but beneficiaries of this group also saw a significant increase in monthly payments. In fact, the average beneficiaries affected increased their monthly checks by $360.

How can I get above average?

Of course, that’s exactly what the average monthly benefit is $2,002. It’s average. There are significantly fewer retirees and a significantly more retirees. In fact, the best monthly Social Security benefits possible for anyone who turned 70 in 2025 is $5,108.

  • Your claimed age – Qualified Americans can begin collecting Social Security at any time between the ages of 62 and 70, but the earlier they apply, the lower the profits. There’s no need to wait until 70. Even a few months can make meaningful differences. The last thought is, logging in to SSA’s web portal is a sensible idea (or create an account if it’s still weird). The Edmonton Oilers tied up the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup final after a massive comeback that had not happened for over 100 years.

They had to overcome the 3-0 first-term deficit and cohesion goals by Florida’s Sam Reinhart in Game 4 regulations before Edmonton’s Leon Draysight scored overtime in a 5-4 victory and a 2-2 series tie.

According to Canadian Network SportsNet, the Oilers are the first road team to win the final Stanley Cup match since the 1919 Montreal Canadiens.

The Panthers appeared to be in command early in Game 4. Matthew Tokachuk had the first goal of the series, with Alexander Barkov earning his first points and Anton Landell scored in the first period with a 3-0 lead.

“We were doing a bit of a Rorigag,” Draysightle told reporters. “It certainly isn’t Rorigag time, especially after being spitted out in Game 3.”

Corey Perry raised her voice during the break, Draysightle said. And Oilers coach Chris Noblauch pulled Stuart Skinner and decided to put backup goalkeeper Calvin Picard in the net at the start of the second term.

If the goal was to shake things up, it worked. The Oilers have returned to tie the game together by the end of the second season.

Picard played his part, stopping Rundel on breakaway after a turnover that was 3-1 following a goal from Ryan Nugent Hopkins. In Game 3, Sam Bennett scored in a similar situation against Skinner, allowing the Panthers to be pulled away.

“He was nothing but epic for us,” Draysitl said of Picard.

Darnell Nurse and Vasily Podkolzin tied the game, with Jake Walman scoring in the third term with a 4-3 lead. However, Reinhart added a game with Sergei Bobrovsky to get an extra skater. This was the only goal Picard allowed with 23 shots as he improved to 7-0 in the playoffs.

“Listeria monocytoegen was detected in in-process shrimp samples in a food production environment,” Bornstein Foods said in a June 10 notification from the Food and Drug Administration. “The company has stopped distributing its product as it continues to investigate the root cause of the problem.”

The affected products were sold directly to distributors and retailers in three states, including California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia, Canada.

Bornstein Seafood, headquartered in Bellingham, Washington, pointed out in its recommendation that “the product may have been further distributed and sold at retailers across the country.” It has not revealed which distributors or retailers have sold this product, or how many, or how many. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.

When contacted by USA Today, Bornstein Seafoods referred to the FDA notification for questions.

WASHINGTON – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says his government has launched a “targeted military operation” against Iran to prevent the enemy from producing nuclear weapons.

In the video address, Netanyahu said Iran has taken steps in recent months to weaponize rich uranium and was at the forefront of developing nuclear weapons within months to a year.

“If it doesn’t stop, Iran could potentially produce nuclear weapons in a very short time,” Netanyahu said in his speech. This came just after Israel confirmed the attack overnight.

Israeli military targets Iran’s enrichment facility in Natanz, and is a leading nuclear scientist and its ballistic missile program. Weapon Netanyahu said it could be used for nuclear abilities.

“This operation will continue for the next few days necessary to remove this threat,” Netanyahu said in his remarks.

Netanyahu’s military operations have come against public warnings from Trump who said he didn’t want to attack Iran while an agreement to halt the country’s nuclear program is still viable. If Steve Witkov was still scheduled to be present in the aftermath of the June 13 strike, then the sixth consultation was scheduled to take place in Oman.

He spoke in English in speech, where he tried to justify the strike. He argued that if Iran had nuclear capabilities, it could provide nuclear weapons to regional proxy groups designated as terrorists by the US and other governments.

The International Atomic Energy Agency, estimated in late May, reports that Iran enriched uranium to a purity of up to 60%. According to the IAEA and other organisations monitoring nuclear development, levels are close to the 90% enrichment required to build nuclear weapons.

The Ford Bronco and Ford Bronco Sports SUVS were unable to meet the marginal rating to qualify for the Insurance Institute’s Top Safety Pick for the latest safety assessment of highway safety.

On June 10, the Highway Safety Insurance Institute, a nonprofit owned by car insurance companies, said it is a nonprofit group owned by car insurance companies with the aim of reducing injuries caused by car accidents, testing nine vehicles and awarding the 2025 Top Safety Pick+ Awards from four different brands.

Three vehicles tested – the Volkswagen Taos, Ford Bronco and BroncoSport have not achieved a “good” ranking due to performances of one or more of the required tests, but rather came as “good,” the institute said.

Collision tests showed that both Broncos increased the risk of chest injuries to passengers in the rear seat. TAOS has achieved poor results with front crash tests and its headlight and pedestrian collision avoidance system.

A Volkswagen spokesman did not immediately respond to inquiries to comment on the results.

Top Safety Pick + Winner

The Insurance Institute said it will qualify for either this year’s Top Safety Pick+ or Lower Top Safety Pick Awards. This test simulates a crash in which a small portion of the front of the vehicle affects another vehicle or barrier.

The vehicle must also get a good rating on updated side tests, and must get an acceptable or good rating on a pedestrian front crash prevention rating, and an acceptable or good rating headlight at all trim levels.

The Institute said that getting an acceptable rating in the updated medium overlap front test is sufficient to qualify for a sufficient safety pick, but a good rating is required to win a top safety pick+. In a medium overlap test, we simulate a frontal collision in which the front of the vehicle overlaps 40% of the width of the stationary vehicle at 40 mph. Its purpose is to measure resident protection in the back seat.

The 2025 models that received the Top Safety Pick+ ranking were Hyundai Elantra, Kia K4, Toyota Prius, and all the smaller cars. Hyundai Sonata Midsize Car, Toyota BZ4X Electric Small SUV, and Nissan Murano Midsize SUV.

The Institute said on some vehicles, the Top Safety Pick+ Award only applies to models built after the date the manufacturer made improvements to rear resident protection. For example, this award applies to Elantras built after October 2024, sonatas built after November 2024, and K4S built after January 2025. The BZ4X Awards are compatible with vehicles built since December 2024, when the XLE trim headlights changed to the ones that are currently well rated.

Ford and VW cannot meet crash metrics

The Insurance Institute report said new ratings could also be used in Ford Bronco, Ford Bronco Sports and Volkswagen Taos, but “these models did not win awards because they were inadequately performing on one or more of the required tests.”

“The Bronco was disqualified from the competition due to a periphery assessment of headlights, pedestrian front crash prevention system and moderate overlap crash performance,” the institute wrote. “In the medium overlap test, measurements taken from the posterior dummy showed a higher risk of chest trauma, but the Bronco worked well with most other metrics.”

Ford’s Broncosport failed the same rating, but for various reasons. During the test, the lab said, “The posterior dummy lap belt slides into the abdomen from the ideal position of the pelvis, increasing the chance of internal damage. Measurements taken from the posterior dummy indicate a higher risk of chest and head or neck injuries.”

BroncoSport has earned a group “acceptable rating” in updated side tests, primarily due to high driver pelvic damage metrics.

The Institute said the 2025 Volkswagen Taos “only” achieved a “acceptable rating” in small overlap front tests due to the failure to hold the safety cage, which is designed to protect residents. It also lacked in the updated medium overlap front test, earning a sub-rated headlight and pedestrian collision avoidance system.

“Volkswagen added playstors and load limiters to the TAOS’s rear seat belt in January 2025, but the chest injury metrics for the rear passenger remained high in medium overlap tests,” the report states.

During his “Idol” audition, Underwood told Roberts he needed to “slack” and find a “swagger.” Despite the backlash she experienced by several people recognizing Roberts’ treatment, the hitmaker “before he cheats” was well hoping for Roberts after the May 18 victory.

“Congratulations to @Americanidol’s latest winner!!! I’m so proud of @OfficialJamalroberts and everything he’s achieved this season. I can’t wait to see the next mountain he climbs! He’s going to do something amazing!” Underwood wrote in a caption on Instagram.

Underwood also told USA Today there are some nerves around the winner’s announcement, reminiscent of his moments he went through 20 years ago.

“My heart was pounding when Ryan looked at the card and paused,” Underwood said. “There are so many moments that bring me back at show time.”

NEW YORK – The Trump administration on June 12 sued New York state over a law restricting federal immigration enforcement within state courts.

The lawsuit challenges New York state law that prevents immigration officials from arresting people in or near New York courts. The complaint filed in federal court in Albany, New York, alleges the law irritates federal immigration enforcement at venues where authorities can safely arrest them.

U.S. Department of Justice attorneys said New York laws and policies restricting cooperation with federal immigration officials violate the supreme provisions of the constitution, and federal law takes precedence over state law.

The lawsuit filed in federal court in Albany comes after the administration has increased immigration enforcement in the workshop and people appear at immigration court hearings. People are protesting federal action in cities across the country.

Attorney General Pam Bondy has condemned the so-called “sanctuary urban policy” of violence seen in California. Sanctuary policies generally refer to those that restrict local law enforcement agencies from cooperating with federal immigration enforcement. The Department of Justice also sued four New Jersey cities by law.

New York state had similar policies that prevented agents from arresting immigrants, Bondy said in a statement.

“This latest lawsuit in a series of sanctuary city litigations underscores the Department of Justice’s commitment to keeping Americans safe and enforcing the law actively,” she said.

Justice Department lawyers challenged a 2020 state law preventing federal officials from arresting civil immigration violations in state courts without a judicial warrant.

According to state Sen. Brad Hoyleman Cigal, author of the law, and a Manhattan Democrat, “bassed and frivolous,” the 2020 law in New York does not apply to federal or immigration courts.

The Justice Department said in a news release that enforcement in courts reduces the risk to people from escape or dangerous situations, particularly as reviews are being strengthened within court buildings.

“Continuous assault” regarding New York’s rule of law, state officials say

State officials have said that federal agents entering local courts are not safe by preventing people from accessing the judicial system.

The law ensures that New Yorkers can pursue justice without fear, Jeff Burgan, a spokesman for state Attorney General Letitia James, said in a statement.

“The due process means nothing if people can’t come to court,” he said. James continues to defend the rights and dignity of everyone who calls New York home, and “advocates all of the laws of New York,” Burgan said.

Law author Hoyleman Cigal said the lawsuit was part of the administration’s “continued attack on New York’s rule of law.”

To avoid federal law or conflict with federal immigration authorities, the law does not apply to federal or immigration courts, he said in a statement. Meanwhile, it allows us to arrest people in local courts when immigration and customs enforcement agencies have “actually valid judicial warrants.”

“When masked ice officials roam the state and lawlessly restrain New Yorkers without legitimate procedures, the law preserves access and participation in justice in the judicial process,” he said.

“Sensitive” areas are targets for immigration enforcement

The controversial issue is federal agents targeting people in the “sensitive” field. Previous Homeland Security guidelines banned enforcement in areas such as schools, places of worship and hospitals. When President Donald Trump took office in January, DHS overturned long-standing policies to give agents discretion on such actions. The administration has enacted another policy that allows enforcement in or near courts.

Justice Department lawyers also challenged two New York executive orders restricting civil immigrant arrests at state facilities and another policy that prevents state employees from sharing information with federal officers related to enforcement of civil immigrants.

“Through these enactments, New York will obstruct federal law enforcement and encourage dangerous offenders to avoid federal law.

On the same day as the lawsuit, Gov. Kathy Hochul was one of three Democratic governors testifying in Congress about “sanctuary” policies and immigration enforcement.

Hochul said her condition has cooperated with Ice since she took office.

“But we have to draw a line somewhere,” Hochur said. “New York cannot represent state officers to enforce citizen immigration violations, such as overstaying visas.”

Donna Liberman, executive director of the New York Civil Liberman, said the administration’s attack on the 2020 law would be a “trap.” Plus, the immigrant community is pushed into the shadows.

The first meeting date of the lawsuit was scheduled for September 10, court records showed.

WASHINGTON – Celebrating Saturday’s Army’s $40 million parade 250th The anniversary is a generational opportunity to showcase service, Secretary of War Dan Driscoll told USA Today.

Retired Army General, its Chief of Staff and Joint Chief of Staff Millai has lost his favor after law enforcement officials forced cleared racial justice protesters from Lafayette Square near the White House, and then apologized for showing up in his uniform near Trump.

The parade features dozens of armored combat vehicles, helicopters, vintage fighter jets, thousands of soldiers dressed in uniforms from the Revolutionary War to the present, horses, two mules and dogs.

The procession will highlight “the robustness and incredible talent of our soldiers,” Drisco said. He wants Americans to “feel proud and honor” when they see the parade.

“This is their army,” he said.

In 2017, during his first term, Trump wanted to host a military parade, but he realized that Pentagon officials appeared to politicize the military. Then Defense Sec. Jim Mattis said he “swallows acid rather,” according to “Hold the Line,” a book by his former speechwriter Snodgrass.

That army is engaged in Trump’s orders through the National Guard to help protect federal buildings and Los Angeles, as well as immigration and customs enforcement officers.

The deployment of thousands of National Guards into Los Angeles was justified and approved by voters who elected Trump. Trump is doing exactly what he said during the campaign, Drisco said.

“Our system was designed precisely for these moments,” Driscoll said. “It was just this kind of moment that’s why we have a presidential election, and why so many Americans turned out to support President Donald J. Trump.

National Guard soldiers deployed in Los Angeles are talented, well trained and “excited” to be there, Drisco said.

The Department of Homeland Security is calling for more than 20,000 additional National Guard troops from the Pentagon to support law enforcement in the suspension of entry.

Driscoll said that although he has not been explained on request, the Army is ready to operate within US boundaries in a legally appropriate manner.

“If the President consults with other administrative leaders and feels that it is our best use of the National Guard, the Army is supporting it to support it,” Drisco said.

Increased risk from drone warfare

On another issue, Dorisco talked about what he considers a deadly threat to his soldiers. Cheap and weaponized drones became weapons of choice in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Driscoll hopes the Army will lead the Pentagon’s efforts to counter the drones.

“That’s the best thing we talk about every day,” Drisco said.

Ukraine surprised Russia with its drone attacks on strategic fighter planes.

“It should send fear into the hearts of the military around the world,” Drisco said. “A solution that was tens of thousands of dollars and was rather skilled over six months, pulling out billions of dollars of equipment with little signing. The threat is realistic, and that threat is something that every country faces.”

Is the Pentagon more prepared than Russia for such an attack?

“I don’t know,” Drisco said. “I hope so.”

North Korea says it repaired the damaged second destroyer and launched it into the water in the presence of leader Kim Jong Un.

North Korea’s South Korea Central News Agency said it launched its destroyer – the second destroyer built this year, off the country’s eastern coast on Thursday. KCNA said Kim said the country’s two destroyers will play a major role in improving the operational capabilities of the North Korean Navy.

Kim reiterated his previous claim that his naval accumulation was a legitimate response to the perceived threat posed by the US and Asian allies.

He said North had vowed to respond to threats from his rivals with “overwhelming military action” and build a navy with “long-range operational capabilities.”

Last month, North Korea said the ship was damaged by a failed launch, causing anger from Kim. Kim vowed to build a stronger navy to deal with what escalates the US-led threat to his country.

Kim previously said the failure to release was caused by criminal negligence. North Korean provincial media later said authorities had detained four officials, including the deputy director of the Workers’ Party’s ammunition industry division, over the failed launch.

Due to the very secret nature of North Korea, it is virtually impossible to independently confirm any announcements regarding ship repairs. External experts previously said it remains unclear how severely damaged the 5,000-ton destroyer has been, and questioned North Korea’s announcement that damage to the ship could be repaired early.

The damaged warship was North Korea’s second known destroyer and was considered a key asset towards Kim’s goal of modernizing the navy. It is in the same class as the country’s first destroyer announced in April, and experts have rated it as the largest and most advanced warship in the North to date. Kim praised the ship, which was launched at Nampo’s West Port, saying it was moving forward with his goal of expanding the military’s scope of operation and nuclear strike capabilities.

Human tragedy is a major focus, but the incident also raises new safety concerns. Boeing stocks fell 5% as of 10am, with engine maker GE Aerospace stocks (NYSE:GE) It fell by 2%.

Fresh uncertainty clouds the investment picture

According to reports, Air India Flight 171 took off from Ahmedabad on its way to London, but crashed shortly after takeoff. This was the first fatal incident involving Dreamliner, who has been in work since October 2011.

It takes months, if not years, to determine the cause of an incident. There are also a wide range of potential factors that are considered in addition to manufacturing issues, including weather, human error, and maintenance.

But for Boeing, who is in the process of rehabilitating its reputation after a pair of fatal accidents involving the 737’s biggest aircraft, the incident creates fresh investor uncertainty, so that the company appears to be regaining its footing.

There’s no simple answer from here

The best advice for investors is to do nothing. Expect there will be little definitive conclusion about what happened for a while. In many cases, such incidents are the result of a cascade of various factors.

Even before today’s incident, Boeing investors were on a long journey. Aerospace companies are still facing 737 largest government production limits that will increase their total debt by more than 400% during the pandemic and limit their cash flow and their ability to repay its balance.

Boeing is moving forward to refresh its management team and meet government requirements to expand production. There is no conclusion yet to be drawn on whether the Air India case will affect the company’s course.

Israel launched a military operation against Iran on the evening of June 12th, targeting Tehran’s nuclear program, according to the Israeli government.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz described the move as a “first attack” in the statement, warning that Israel is anticipating a “missile and drone attack” in response. The Israeli Defense Forces said the strike was carried out by “dozens” of aircraft.

According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the IDF has struck Natanz’s Iranian uranium enrichment facility and launched additional targets “at the heart” of the Islamic Republic’s enrichment program, nuclear weaponization program and ballistic missile program. Netanyahu added that “Iran’s leading nuclear scientist” is also a target.

“The sound of an explosion…” was heard in Tehran’s capital.”

The US military is “not involved”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio admitted the attack in a statement, emphasizing that the US military is “not involved in the strike against Iran.”

The operation comes when the Trump administration sought a contract with Iran to limit its nuclear program. International watchdogs say Iran continues to enrich uranium. For over a decade, Israel has warned against attacking Iran’s nuclear program and energy facilities if they reach a stage where they could become weaponized. Both countries have long-standing enemies.

There was no immediate diplomatic or military response from Iran. It argues that the nuclear program is for private energy purposes only and is a claim that is skeptical of the international community.

Prior to the operation, the US appeared to expect Iran to be able to retaliate at certain US military sites in nearby Iraq. The State Department issued a travel advisory on June 11, ordering non-emergency government officials to leave Iraq due to “higher regional tensions.”

Trump appeared at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on June 11 to talk about Iran, and reporters said he was “predicted to leave the area because it could be a dangerous place. Trump reiterated that the US did not want Iran to develop nuclear weapons. “We’re not going to allow that,” he said.

Netanyahu has been debating a nuclear deal with Iran for years. Israel and Iran have been sworn their enemies since Tehran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution. Former President Barack Obama signed a contract with Iran with global powers in 2015 to limit the scope of Iran’s uranium enrichment program.

Netanyahu opposed the agreement, claiming Iran could not be trusted to adhere to its terms, but said the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN’s nuclear watchdog, is at work. Trump ended the agreement during his first term.

Israel and Iran targeted each other with missiles and drones in October 2024 in connection with the killing of Hezbollah and Hamas – an Iran-backed armed group leader.

In a report in late May, the IAEA estimated that Iran had enriched uranium to a purity of up to 60%. According to the IAEA and other nuclear watchdogs, this is very close to the 90% enrichment level required to build nuclear weapons. On June 12, the IAEA declared that Iran is not complying with its nuclear non-proliferation obligations and passed a resolution against the country for the first time in 20 years.

The term “mental load” is commonly used to describe the responsibilities that women and mothers often have for their families.

But what about the mental load that his father carries?

33-year-old Haven Weits explored the topic in an episode of the podcast “Haven!” 35 with her friend Nick Murenos.

“Yes, there are things that other partners may not carry,” he said in the May 5th episode. “We’re also expected among men who handle their own things and deal with their own problems.”

Accumulating over 53,000 views on Tiktok, the clip prompted some controversy in the comments section about the mental load of the father, whether it exists, and why men are not comfortable expressing it.

“Men use the same five chores as some kind of rebuttal to minimize work from home, while the majority of mothers also have jobs,” an Instagram user commented.

“What many women don’t get is the constant stress and fear of men constantly being below,” another user commented. “There’s no room to fail because if I fail, we all fail.”

Dr. Mill Brown, chief medical officer at Spring Health, a mental health platform, said there is no doubt that his father and man will carry his own version of mental load. And today’s fathers are more involved and involved with their children than their previous generation fathers, research shows. However, social pressure, lack of a male role model, and neglecting men’s mental health made it difficult for them to share their anxiety.

“My father is influenced by society, he’s tough, stoic, strong, and holds these feelings,” he said. “Just because dads don’t show any emotions as much as their mothers doesn’t mean that their emotions and stress aren’t present in their families.”

What does “father’s mental load” look like?

Haven’s mental load is usually made up of daily tasks, but her husband tends to think big.

Aaron Waits, 36, worries about long-term goals, including where families will live in five years, where children will go to school, and how they can financially support those goals.

“It’s not specific and sometimes it’s difficult to talk about,” he said.

He also carries the burden of how to keep his family safe in his where he lives in Los Angeles. He remembered that his father was doing the same thing and automatically assumed the role when he had children.

“Even if I’m hovering at the mall, I’m always keeping an eye on everyone,” Aaron said. “It’s not something I share, but it’s mostly innate. It’s a natural look as a dad.”

In addition to family work and financial security, Murenos said that part of his mental load is how he can better support his wife and offload some of her mental stress. He also worries that expressing his mental load would mistakenly negate his wife’s experiences and struggles.

“If they say, ‘Hey, I need help with what I have’ and your response is, ‘Look at what I have’ – it could be invalidated,’ he said. “That’s not the intention, but they don’t want to push down what their wife is expressing to them.”

Recognize the mental load of both partners

According to mental health experts, the new era of parenting creates a variety of pressures and challenges for both moms and dads. Parents tend to worry about income stability, financial issues, work performance, and tracking busy families.

“When you try to be a modern parent, you come with unique pressures, especially when compared to traditional social expectations for that role,” Brown said.

Couples can share the parenting load by having a shared calendar, setting up regular family meetings to coordinate tasks, and consistently sharing the responsibilities each partner is working on, he said.

Date nights and one-on-one times allowed Haven and Aaron to be more accepting of each other’s needs when sharing family responsibilities.

He hopes that more men can effectively communicate their needs, but Murenos hopes that both men and women can recognize the importance of understanding each other’s mental load.

“What I want is a conversation about mental load, generally, to continue and expand,” he said. “I don’t want my father to remain silent. I want them to give them transparency in their emotions, but I just want to see them moving forward with their families.”

Israel has launched what is known as a “first attack” on Iran, and the state of emergency has been declared in Israel, according to the Israeli Defense Minister.

“Following Israel’s preemptive attack on Iran, missile and drone attacks on Israel and its civilians are expected in the near future,” Katz said in a statement.

Iran’s state-run media outlet IRNA reported that it had heard repeated explosions in Tehran.

US officials told CNN that there was no US involvement or support in Israel’s strike in Iran.

Israeli officials said Israeli national security cabinet met throughout the night leading up to the attack in Iran.

Israel has closed airspace until further notice, according to the country’s Ministry of Transport.

According to a new analysis by Congressional Budget Office, the law called “One Big Beautiful Bill” by President Donald Trump will increase the resources of middle-income and top earners at the expense of low-income Americans.

Over the 2026-2034 period, nonpartisan CBOs analyzed the combined effects of the House bill’s tax cuts and reductions on federal programs, including Medicaid and nutrition support. The mega bill is currently in the Senate. This is considering a change.

According to CBO, the bill’s profits have increased with incomes being lost by the lowest-class households. The agency compared the bill to current tax laws. This includes Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Employment Act.

The current pending bill will extend the 2017 tax cut, add work requirements to Medicaid and Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, or Food Stamp), give seniors additional tax credits to help offset Social Security taxes, and create a baby savings account, among other things.

Here’s how the CBO says the bill will affect Americans:

  • People in the lowest income group lose around $1,600 in resources per year. This is around 3.9% of revenue primarily due to reductions in non-cash transfers such as Medicaid and SNAP. Many of this group pay little or no federal tax and thus benefit from tax cuts more than high-income groups.
  • For middle-income households, resources will increase from $500 to $1,000, or 0.5% to 0.8% of forecast income.
  • The top 10% of households see profits of around $12,000, or about 2.3% of their income, primarily due to tax cuts.

Labubu Lovers can be delighted as Pop Mart releases a new collection featuring fan-favorite characters from the story series The Monsters, and they will have the opportunity to add them to their collection.

According to the Toy Company website, the Monsters Wacky Mart series was dropped on the Pop Mart website on Thursday, June 12th at 10pm ET.

WASHINGTON – The rage radiated from Congressional Democrats is clear.

After California Sen. Alex Padilla was forced to remove him from a press conference with Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem, House Democrats roamed the Capitol in search of an audience with GOP leadership. Meanwhile, their Senate counterparts gave floor speeches followed by floor speeches, denounced their actions as “power abuse” and “attack.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson called Padilla’s actions “roughly inappropriate” and insisted he was rushed to his secretary. House Democrats cried out to him, “That’s a lie!”

Padilla suspended the press briefing gnome held in Los Angeles on June 12 amid protests over President Donald Trump’s city migrant raid. Some of these protests have become violent, with demonstrators burning cars and throwing things in law enforcement. Trump sent the National Guard without the consent of government Gavin Newsom, urging further outrage from Democrats.

“We won’t leave. We’re staying here to free this city from the burdensome leadership that the socialists and this governor and mayor put in this country,” Noem said, saying Padilla “want to know why you argue – I want to know Madame Secretary.”

Padilla was pushed into the ground and handcuffed outside the room.

“Anyone who watches that video will understand that this is an attack, a felony,” said Rep. Adriano Espirato of D-New York, who is chairman of the Hispanic Caucus in Congress. “The White House is indifferent and out of control.”

Espaillat and more than a dozen other Democrats turned their backs from Johnson’s office as they tried to enter Thune’s office, where they were meeting the White House.

“They said they were busy, he couldn’t meet dozens of members of the U.S. House of Representatives and hid behind the door there,” said D-California Rep. Nanette Barragan. “That’s a dishonorable thing.”

On the other side of the Capitol, a series of democratic senators gave floor speeches hammering the episode’s insult.

“I saw this happen to my colleagues. I was shocked at how far it has come down in the first 140 days of this administration… What will happen to our democracy? Are there any restrictions on what this administration does?” New Jersey Democratic Sen. Andy Kim said on the Senate floor.

Washington Sen. Patty Murray said on the Senator’s floor that lawmakers on either side of the aisle were not calling the situation “outrageous.”

Republicans largely defended the actions taken by federal law enforcement representatives.

“What should they have done? They have to restrain those engaged in such behavior. “It’s under the members of Congress. It’s under the senators. They should be leading by example, and that’s not a good example.”

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said Padilla “shamed me and his constituents in this immature theatre kid stunt.”

“Democrats say they’re rilling more about Padilla than about violent riots and attacks against law enforcement in Los Angeles,” she added.

Trump sent 4,000 National Guard members and 700 Marines to Los Angeles to suppress the protests.

Padilla said at a press conference after the incident that she wanted more information from the NOEM on the Trump administration’s “increasingly extreme immigration enforcement measures.” According to the Department of Homeland Security, Noem met with Padilla for 15 minutes after that.

He added that he has not been arrested or detained. But he said, “If this is how the Department of Homeland Security responds to senators with questions, then all I can do is imagine what they are doing to farm workers, chefs, the Los Angeles community, California as well as to daytime workers all over the country.

Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security, wrote to X that Padilla was “told repeatedly to step back and failed to comply with the officer’s repeated orders.”
