Trump jokes about AI while we and the UK sign new technology contracts

0

US President Donald Trump joked Thursday that AI “takes over the world” and that he hopes technology executives understand it more than he does.

The comments came when Trump and British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer hosted a gathering of London business and technology leaders during the president’s second state visit to the UK. Among the attendees was Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

Trump has admitted that he has little knowledge of AI, breaking from his prepared speeches about US-uk relationships, fresh partnerships and multi-billion dollar investments.

“This creates new government, academic and private sector cooperation in regions like AI that are taking over the world (…) I’m looking at you. You’re taking over the world. Jensen, I don’t know what you’re doing here.”

“I hope you are right. All I can say is we both hope you are right.”

Trump and Starme have signed a technology contract focused on AI

The highlight of the event was the signature of “Tech Prosperity Deal.” It sets out the two countries’ plans to deepen cooperation with new technology. The transaction covers projects such as the development of AI models in healthcare, advances in quantum computing, and modernization of nuclear programs.

As part of the deal, Nvidia has pledged to deploy 120,000 GPUs in the UK. It will be the biggest expansion in Europe.

Nvidia’s average behavior with Intel

Separately on Thursday, Nvidia revealed a $5 billion investment in Intel, coupled with a collaboration with new product Intel. The two companies will work together on a custom data center that supports AI systems and processors for personal computers.

Nvidia said it plans to buy Intel shares at $23.28 per share, subject to regulatory approval. Investment comes as Intel appears to be trying to regain the ground after years of decline.

“The historic collaboration marks the merging of two world-class platforms by accelerating the computing stack with Nvidia’s AI and Intel’s CPUs and the vast X86 ecosystem,” says Huang. “Together, we will expand our ecosystem and lay the foundations for the next age of computing.”

For data centers, Intel designs chips that support NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure. For desktop PCs, Intel will manufacture processors that integrate Nvidia’s technology, offering the company the opportunity to push it into areas that have lost momentum.

Intel’s Lifeline

The partnership is driving Intel, which once was the backbone of personal computers, now has a hard time keeping up to the pace. The company missed a shift to smartphones after Apple’s iPhone transformed the market in 2007, and has recently fallen behind the AI hardware race. Meanwhile, Nvidia has become the most valuable company in the world.

Investors responded immediately. Intel shares rose 30% in pre-market trading, while Nvidia shares rose almost 3%.

Before signing the contract, Trump added a dose of humor and turned to Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent and said, “Do I need to sign this? Is it Scott?

During his visit to the UK, Trump also said he wanted the AI to be treated wisely by the experts leading the development, as he acknowledged that he was beyond his understanding.

The Trump administration is closely monitoring the AI competition

While the partnership is expanding, US regulators are also focusing on competition in AI. Speaking at a conference in New York, Assistant Director Gale Slater said the U.S. Department of Justice is wary of anti-competitive behaviour in the sector. “The competitive dynamics of each layer of the AI stack and how they interact are legitimate areas of antitrust investigations, with a particular focus on exclusive actions that seize access to key inputs and distribution channels,” she said. “Of course, a truly open source model must be something that is not unilaterally maintained by a single vendor that exerts unfairly and imposes restrictions.”

One important area is accessing data. A federal judge in Washington recently ordered Google to share some of its search data with rivals, including AI companies, to level the playing field with online searches. Google says it will appeal its ruling.

Slater’s remarks reflect a continuity of concern. Anti-trust officials under President Joe Biden have also looked at Big Tech’s relationship with AI startups, indicating that both administrations see it as the centre of AI’s future.

Jayley Alexander signed with the Baltimore Ravens after playing for seven years at Green Bay.

play

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jaylie Alexander sold the Wisconsin condo for $420,000.

Alexander was released by the Packers in June and quickly signed with the Baltimore Ravens for up to $6 million, including incentives. The Packers chose him in their first round, the 18th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The two-story two-bedroom unit is located at the Riverfront Loft Mansion at 101 Cherry St in downtown Green Bay. According to Brown County Register records, Alexander acquired the unit in 2019 for $420,000. It was originally listed for $469,900, but he sold it at the same price he paid for. The sale ended on August 20th.

The 1,699 square feet condo features 2½ bathrooms, two parking spaces and a view of the entire Fox River. The main bedroom includes an EN suite with a steam shower and a Kohler soaking tub. Other bedrooms also have EN suites.

Alexander played for the Packers for seven years before signing with the Ravens. His best year was 2022, when he played 16 games, had five intercepts and was selected for the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team. He was also a Pro Bowl and an All-Pro player in 2020.

People found in Washington

The man believed to be Travis Decker, a man who wanted the death of his three daughters, was found remotely in Washington, authorities said on September 18.

The body was found in an area south of Leavenworth, a village in the Cascade Mountains in central Washington, according to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office. Several law enforcement agencies were involved in the search, including the former US S Bureau, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Border Patrol, the Forest Service and the Washington State Patrol.

The Sheriff’s Office noted that it is currently handling the scene, with the support of the Washington State Patrol’s crime scene response team. The Sheriff’s Office will perform DNA analysis after the scene has been processed.

“While no positive identification has been confirmed, the preliminary findings suggest that the body belongs to Travis Decker,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement, adding that more information will be revealed after further investigation and forensic testing.

The discovery of the human body follows a search for Decker, who was 32 years old when he disappeared, for over three months. He was sought for first-degree murder and accusations of temptation in connection with the death of Paichin Decker. Evelyn Decker, 8, and Olivia Decker, 5, of Wenatchee, of Chelan County, about 150 miles east of Seattle.

What happened to Decker’s kids?

The bodies of three Decker’s children were found days after their mother was reported missing on May 30th.

On June 2, the sheriff’s aide spotted an open truck near the Rock Island Campground in Chelan County, about 148 miles east of Seattle, about 3:45pm local time. According to an affidavit obtained by USA Today, officers quickly found the missing girl’s body down the small bank.

Authorities said the girl’s body was about 75 to 100 yards away from her father’s vacant car near the Rock Island campground. The girls died as a result of murder from asphyxiation, a preliminary report from the inspector said.

Their bodies were found on evidence that their hands were zipped near their father’s truck, as court documents obtained by USA Today showed, with plastic bags above their heads and their hands zipped near their father’s truck. Decker was found nowhere on the scene, and a search for his cell phone revealed that he had visited the same campsite the day before the invitation, according to court documents.

Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison previously said Decker may have used his extensive military and outdoor survival training to scope out his hidden spot before he left the grid. Investigators said Decker had demonstrated mental health issues prior to the girl’s murder.

Travis Decker Month Search

During the months of manhunt, federal and state agencies searched hundreds of square miles, looking at remote areas and mountainous regions. The search was carried over by former US S-Service, who deployed personnel and oversaw interviews and evaluations.

Authorities say Decker was last alive on May 30 with his three daughters. Morrison previously told USA Today that the decline in hints prevented searching, suggesting that Decker might be dead.

In late August, the FBI said it was working to determine whether recently discovered bones around the Rock Island campground belong to Decker. The agency later confirmed on September 3rd that the body was not human.

At the time, W. Mike Herrington, a special agent in charge of the FBI’s Seattlefield office, was called “a broad search,” and one step in the three-month process.”

“In two days, the search team will clear almost 250 acres by carefully covering rough terrain on foot, and the effort can be built on knowledge gained through electronic mapping in the area,” Herrington said.

The 2026 mini lineup changes aren’t all that wiped out, like a year ago when the brand essentially reset its full product range.

We were also hoping for a lineup to expand, but tariff concerns made us aware that the Earthman small electric SUV built in China and the next Cooper Electric hatchback would have to wait at least a little longer.

But that’s fine – this year’s crop is fresh enough and benefits from some great upgrades. Check out the 2025 minicar and SUV changes.

2026 Mini Cooper Hard Top

The John Cooper Works Style package injects all S models with a little extraordinary talent this year. for 2-door Cooper Hardtop and 4-door Cooperwhich means the JCW aero body kit with dynamic damper control adaptive damping, package-specific wheels, revised bumpers and rocker panels all for $1,200. It also includes iconic trim, reinforced brakes and steering wheel paddle shifters.

The Black Sport Stripes will be available this year on both JCW and non-JCW Cooper models, with $250 still being the price of that add-on. Finally, all Minis with keyless entry and start, as well as Minis manufactured after July 1, 2025, come with a new smartphone-based digital keyplus app that offers the same functionality.

2026 Mini Countryman

Black 18-inch asteroid spoke wheels wrapped in all-season tires are the new non-cost option this year Countryman’s awd Features signature plus or iconic trim in classic or favourable style. The JCW style package is also available in the Countryman S, adding Cooper-like aeros, wheels and dampers, but at a more expensive $1,400.

Like everyone else, the iconic trim paired with the JCW package features a reinforced brake and paddle shifter integrated with the steering wheel. MINI’s SUV lineup also offers optional $250 Black Sports stripes with or without JCW trim.

Countryman models built using Comfort Access after July 1, 2025 will get Digital Key Plus. This allows you to unlock your car on your mobile phone and start it. The crossover loses one of the two key fobs and gets a setup card and a service card.

As for the Countryman Se All4, Mini says the switch to a new model year in the second half of 2025 will coincide with several other product updates expected to occur at the time. Given that the all-electric compatriot was completely redesigned last year, major changes in 2026 are not expected. The new SUV feels like it looks premium, but it has better range and charging, and the infotainment system works slowly.

Jimmy Fallon responds to Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension

0

play

Jimmy Fallon is rooting for his companion Jimmy’s return late at night.

On the September 18 episode of “The Tonight Show,” Fallon tackled ABC’s controversial move to suspend Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show, following pressure from the Federal Communications Commission.

“The big story is that Jimmy Kimmel was interrupted by the ABC after pressure from the FCC, causing everyone to think, ‘WTF?’,” Fallon joked at the beginning of his monologue.

More seriously, Fallon came to Kimmel’s defense and told viewers, “To be honest with you guys, I don’t know what’s going on, and no one else will. But I know Jimmy Kimmel.

Fallon then joked about concerns that the late-night comedy show would be “censored.” He vowed to continue covering President Donald Trump “as I would normally do,” but then began blowing away his words with excessive praise for the president in studio narration.

ABC aired on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ FCC president Brendan Kerr pressured the network to take action over Kimmel’s comments on Charlie Kirk’s murder. Kimmel said on the September 15th show that “Maggergang” is “deeply trying to characterize this child who murdered Charlie Kirk as something other than them.”

They gathered around Kimmel on the September 18th episode and expressed their disappointment with his suspension. John Stewart made a surprising return to “The Daily Show” to discuss the news, but usually only hosting the show on Monday.

In Stewart’s highly ironic segment, the comedian acted to President Donald Trump as if he was worried about being cancelled next.

“Our great administration has very clear rules on freedom of speech,” he said sarcastically. “Now, some opponents may argue that the concerns of this administration’s speech are merely ironic tricks. A thin gr of tricks. A smoke screen that obscures the unprecedented integration of power and unitarian threats obscures all experiments and cold rebuttals in constitutional shared governance.

On NBC’s “Late Night,” Seth Myers said it was “privilege and honor” to call Kimmel a friend, and that he continued the show and vowed that “we always did it.”

“This is a big moment in our democracy, and we all have to stand up to the principles of free expression,” he added. “There’s a reason why freedom of speech is the first revision. It stands above all else.”

Stephen Colbert, whose own “The Late Show” was cancelled by CBS in July, also defended Kimmel, denounced the suspension as a “blatant attack” on speech freedom.

Kimmel’s suspension sparked widespread protests across the entertainment industry and scrutinized among democratic politicians. While appearing at the Atlantic Festival, former night host David Letterman denounced ABC’s “silly” decision.

“You can’t fire someone because you’re afraid or you’re trying to suck into authoritarian criminal administration in an oval office,” he said. “That’s not how this works.”

Kimmel has yet to issue a statement addressing the show’s suspension.

Campbell admits to dumping waste on the Ohio River and violating US law.

One litigation environmental group claimed that Lynn was the main chemical emitted from the Campbell Soup Plant in Napoleon, Ohio.

play

Campbell Soup Supply Company, LLC, agrees not to challenge the allegations that the Ohio facility has violated more than 5,400 times in six and a half years, leading to pollution in the river feeding Lake Erie.

On Monday, September 15th, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Campbell, known for its series of soups, admitted that plants in Napoleon, Ohio, exceeded the waste restrictions imposed by the Discharge or Waste Act.

The agreement is listed in the provisions Campbell, submitted to two environmentalist groups, Environmental America and Lake Erie Waterkeeper, who sued the company in March 2024.

The National Environmental Law Centre, which represents the group, alleges in the lawsuit that soup makers violated the Clean Water Act more than 5,400 times between April 2018 and December 2024, leading to ammonia, E. coli, E. coli, total residual chlorine, phosphorus, pH, oil and oil entering the waterway.

Waste from Campbell’s facility enters the Maumee River. The Maumee River flows into Lake Erie, and lawyers for the environmental group said in a news release on September 15th.

“The pollution flowing from the Maumee River into Lake Erie West, including Campbell’s Lynn discharge, is contributing to the lake’s toxic algae flowers,” said Sandy Bean, Lake Erie’s water manager.

On Thursday, September 18th, Campbell said in a statement to USA Today that the company had taken steps to comply with environmental regulations. According to the company, it has been part of the Napoleon community since 1938, and the facility in question has had minimal impact on the Maumee River or Lake Erie.

The lawsuit alleges Campbell’s infringed clean water laws have been permitted 5,468 times.

The facility at the heart of the 2024 lawsuit is Campbell’s Napoleon factory, approximately 46 miles southwest of Toledo, Ohio.

Ohio, an environmental organization defending clean air and water, and Lake Erie waterkeepers, advocating for easy swimming and fishing water in the Lake Erie basin, have launched lawsuits.

The complaint alleges Campbell violates the Cleanwater Act, allowing agencies and businesses to discharge chemicals and minerals into U.S. waters. The Act sets these discharge restrictions and calls them to be responsible for “point sources” to businesses or agents. In this case, environmental advocates argued that Campbell’s Ohio plants were the main point source for the Maumee River chemicals.

Similar to the lawsuit and September 15th provisions, Environmental America’s Cleanwater Director John Rumler includes data reported between 2018 and 2024 showing how much pollutants Campbell emits.

According to the complaint, the group said the soup company had violated a total of 5,468 violations. Rumpler said the joint provisions indicate that Campbell Soup Company “acknowledges that this is what we put in water.”

Rumpler added: “We need to know what Campbell needs to “clean up operations and prevent further expiration of permit restrictions.” He further said he needs to know how much penalty a company is violating the law.

How do these contaminants affect the environment?

According to Rumpler, one of the main contaminants environmental groups are concerned about is phosphorus, which can lead to toxic algae.

“It’s this nasty, green slime that covers most of the western part of Lake Erie,” he said. “It’s very toxic to humans, wildlife and pets.”

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) says that too much phosphorus can lead to excessive algae growth, which can contribute to dissolved oxygen levels, harmful algal toxins, lack of sunlight in plants and animals in the water, and degraded habitat conditions for aquatic organisms.

Phosphorus enters rivers and streams, lakes and coastal waters due to fertilizer, urban runoff, leaks in cleansing conditions, or discharges from wastewater treatment plants.

The Ohio EPA said in its June 2023 technical report that the average amount of emissions allowed daily is 10 million gallons per day. Between Spring 2017 and Spring 2021, Campbell’s daily flow averaged 5.5 million gallons per day.

Rumpler said cities and towns, farmers and businesses like Campbell must do their part to stay within permitted discharge restrictions.

“They know this is the problem,” Rumpler said. “They know they need to solve that. It’s the question of how much money is involved and what they need to do to get this contamination to where it is needed.”

Josh Allen, Tua, Dolphins and other “TNF” winners and losers

play

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are 3-0 with their second straight win.

The Bills defeated the Miami Dolphins 31-21 in a “Thursday Night Football” AFC East Tilt. Buffalo lost the Dolphins seven times, including the playoffs.

Allen passed 213 yards and three touchdowns.

The Dolphins tied a matchup in the fourth quarter, but the Bills scored a decisive, go-ahead touchdown after Miami trolled the kicker call. A slow intercept by Tua Tagovailoa sealed off the chance to make a comeback for the dolphins.

The losses dropped Miami 0-3 holes, and they began the regular season, with questions surrounding Tagovailoa, Mike McDaniel and other Miami players and personnel continuing to be asked.

USA Today Sports will offer winners and losers from the AFC East Matchup on Thursday night.

James Cook

The running bill was rushing 19 times for 108 yards and one touchdown. He provided violations up to four quarters. He averaged an impressive 5.7 yards per carry.

Cook tallied eight runs for 73 yards in the first half.

Josh Allen on Thursday night

Allen is 8-0 as he starts quarterback in Thursday’s game.

Allen made Russell Wilson, Duck Prescott and Kirk Cousins sixth fastest in NFL history, reaching 200 career-path touchdowns during the win.

Allen completed 22 of 28 passes for 213 yards and added three touchdowns to get a passerby rating of 134.1. It was another night in the Bills Quarterbacks office.

Terrell Bernard gets clutch interception

At the end of the fourth quarter, when Miami was approaching the end zone of the game tying score, Bernard read Tua Tagovailoa’s eyes and stepped in front of the QB’s pass aimed at Jaylen Waddle, successfully stomping the intercept.

Bernard’s pick proved to be the final blow in Miami’s comeback bid.

The bill continues

The invoice has been 3-0 for the second year in a row, and this is the fourth time since 2017. Buffalo has won 13 consecutive regular season home games, the longest active home win streak in the NFL.

Backdow

Questions are beginning to cycle through the surrounding Tagovailoa positions as a franchise quarterback.

Tagovailoa has got off to a slow start this season. He came in the third week with a passerby rating of 90.6.

The Dolphins quarterback deserves some credit on the touchdown drive that tied the game in the second and fourth quarters, but threw a bad intercept in the fourth quarter when Dolphins threatened to score.

Tagovailoa didn’t make 100 yards until his 26th pass in the evening. He finished with 161 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, earning a passerby rating of 83.2. He averaged 4.6 yards per completion. He was less than four yards per completion for most of the contest.

hot seat microphone mcdanielle

McDaniel’s team fought hard throughout the game. Dolphins executives certainly take into account the team’s efforts, but McDaniel’s work may be at risk. His seat appears to get hotter with every loss in Miami.

Dolphin Attack

Despite being two of the NFL’s fastest wide receivers, dolphin attacks are not explosive. Although Tua Tagovailoa doesn’t have the strength of the elite arms, in the past Miami attacks have been able to produce explosive plays with creative play designs, intermediate passes and occasional long balls. All of these have not been present throughout the first three weeks of the season.

Zack Sheiler

On the 4th and 7th at 10:20, leaving the fourth quarter, the Dolphins captain made a painful decision when he met Bills punter Cameron Johnston in a desperate attempt to block a punt. Officials trolled the kicker and called Sealer as the penalty extended the Buffalo drive.

The Bills scored a Go-Ahead touchdown after five plays to get a 28-21 lead.

How do push buttons work in cars?

0

It describes one of the most common standard features in the latest vehicles.

play

  • Push button startups may be common today, but cranking the engine wasn’t necessarily the dominant method.
  • The push button initiation system and the ignition key system activate the same process in different ways.

Do you own a car key, a key FOB, or a combination of both?

Currently, most modern vehicles have push button start standard, completely eliminating the need for an ignition key. The ignition key is not too old, so it’s rare.

Millions of American drivers still drive vehicles that require ignition keys despite their advanced key FOBs with locks and auto-start capabilities. So, what is the real difference between using ignition keys and push button start? Also, how do both work to crank the engine of the vehicle?

Shift from ignition key to start push button

German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz pioneered what he knew in 1998 as a modern push button start with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. In the early 2000s, other luxury automakers followed suit and began to incorporate keyless entry and push start into their vehicles.

By the mid-2000s, Maistream Automotive brands such as Nissan and Toyota began to feature push button start on vehicles. The 2010s saw a new era of automotive technology and standard features. Push button start has become a standard feature on most modern vehicles.

Today, most of new internal combustion engines, hybrids and electric vehicles have standard push-start systems. Are these systems really improved over the ignition key? And how does it work?

How the start and ignition keys of the push button work

The push button start system sends an electronic signal to the car starter to crank the engine. The ignition key uses a mechanical turning action that helps crank the vehicle’s engine. Push start systems contain fewer parts, which means that components will wear less than those used in the ignition key system.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vaan60gez0

Push-start systems use electronics to avoid overcranking, but the ignition key system relies on the driver to control the engine cranking process. Both systems perform the same function, but there are some important differences that suggest why automakers have made push start ubiquitous in the industry.

The difference between push start and ignition key start system

  • Ignition key system can be hot wired
  • Push start systems have security technology and rely on key FOBs (with battery)
  • Ignition key system wears over time
  • Push start systems can encounter more complex problems than ignition key systems

Both types of ignition systems have their advantages and disadvantages, and there is no definitive, better system. That said, the modern fob, featuring keyless entry and push start, allows the driver to enter a seamless vehicle experience than the ignition key start system.

Do I need to upgrade and start my car’s ignition system?

Drivers can install aftermarket push button start kits on their vehicles and professionally install the system. The start of the push button provides a more convenient driving and ownership experience, giving the vehicle a more modern feel.

Aftermarket push button start installations range from $200 to $600. If you have a modern vehicle that’s more fun to own with push button start, a system upgrade is worth considering. If you have an older vehicle, you can avoid major complications that may stick to the ignition key.

Utah Valley University hosts a vigil after Charlie Kirk’s assassination

The university where conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in Utah is scheduled to stay up all night on its campus, school officials have confirmed.

Utah Valley University has announced that it will hold a “Vill to Unity” on September 19th at the UCCU Center. Kirk was assassinated on September 10th at a Turning Point USA event on the Orem, Utah campus.

“This attack lies not only in the individual, but also in the spirit of free expression, civil discourse and intellectual quest that is at the very foundation of our university,” Utah Valley University President Astrid S. Tomeans said in a released statement. “Together, we choose our hopes for the future and take care of each other during this time.”

The event list states that the all-nighter “provides space for students, faculty, staff and community members to come together to remember, heal and reaffirm the shared values.”

The event is open to the public and is scheduled to start at 4pm, with the door opening at 2:30pm. The school said live streams of videos are available for those who cannot attend the all night.

Utah Valley Vigil is ahead of the Phoenix Memorial

The vigil comes in front of the main monument planned for Kirk at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on September 21st. President Donald Trump, senior Trump officials and other conservative figures will speak at the event.

Since Kirk’s assassination, the country has seen a series of respect and fallouts, including dozens of people fired or suspended over comments about their conservative personality.

Classes resumed at Utah Valley University

The university began phased return of faculty and students this week, first reopening campus to employees before reopening student services on September 16th. Classes resumed on September 17th.

“This is a critical moment for all of us,” Tuminez said ahead of his gradual return. “Make sure hatred doesn’t overturn the goodness of our UVU community and what we support.”

Which colour is best for your car’s resale value?

0

play

  • Grayscale colors represent an increase in the market share of the car colour market.
  • The colours of other cars will retain their value better.

Karl Brower says he likes to play games when others are in the car with him.

He asks them to point out cars on the streets that are not black, white, silver or gray.

It usually requires a bit of a scan before they find anything else.

For Brauer, executive analyst at ISEeCars.com, the exercise shows that grayscale colors have come to dominate the vehicle fleet. It also helps explain why so-called safe colors aren’t necessarily the best choice when it comes to selling your old rides, despite what many might assume.

In fact, a recent survey on ISEeCars.com shows that the color of the car that holds its value is yellow. Gold is the worst, but the next two colors just above the survey list are white and black, respectively.

Generally, it is a reflection of supply and demand and is an important determinant of vehicle prices.

“How many people want yellow cars? Not many. How many yellow cars are produced? Less than people who want them,” Brower said.

This is a complete list of colors and a complete list of 3 years of depreciation.

  • Yellow, 24%
  • Orange, 24.4%
  • Green, 26.3%
  • Beige, 29.5%
  • Red, 29.8%
  • Silver, 29.8%
  • Brown 30.4%
  • Gray, 30.5%
  • Blue, 30.9%
  • Black, 31.9%
  • White, 32.1%
  • Gold, 34.4%

However, this study does not reflect the most popular colours on the road.

According to 2023 data from ISEeCars.com, white, black, gray and silver respectively represent top cars with color market share.

Brower said he suspected people were trying to play safely at resale value while selecting a vehicle.

“I think there’s a lot of this propagation of these grayscale colors because everyone thinks everyone else wants them,” Brower said.

What is Brauer’s advice for new car buyers?

Try ordering what you want.

“There are people who want yellow, orange and green. If you have it, what time is it to sell?

7.8 The Russian Magnitude Earthquake will temporarily trigger the Pacific Ocean in the Alaska Tsunami Warning. See how powerful waves work.

0

A powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake off the Pacific coast of Russia shortened the tsunami advisory, which was then cancelled on Thursday in Alaska’s coastal areas of the Aleutian Islands.

The National Tsunami Warning Center has retracted recommendations for Alaska’s Western Aleutian Islands, from Amchitka to Atu. “There is no risk of a destructive tsunami along the US West or Canada coastline.

See how tsunamis are created, why they are so dangerous, and where the earthquake occurred.

Where did the earthquake occur near Kamchatka?

The earthquake struck around 3pm in the eastern part of Russia about 80 miles east of Petropavlovsk Kamchatsky, the USGS said. There were concerns that Hawaii could be affected, but the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Honolulu said there was no danger.

Can’t you see the above graphics? Click here to reload the page.

On July 29th, one of the strongest in history, a tremor of 8.8 magnitude, erupted on the Kamchatka Peninsula. Some Hawaiians were ordered to evacuate prior to the tsunami wave, but those orders were later lifted.

What is a tsunami?

A tsunami is a series of enormous waves caused by a submarine earthquake or volcanic eruption at the boundary of a tectonic plate. Both replace large amounts of water and produce ocean waves that incite from earthquake epicenter or volcanic vents.

In a process known as shallow water, height and velocity change dramatically as the tsunami moves inland. Forces from the seabed slow the waves when they reach shallow water. According to sciencelearn.org, “the water is shallow and the waves are slower.”

They start thousands of miles away, but tsunamis, a huge wave caused by submarine earthquakes and other disruptions, can be heavily destroyed along coastal areas. The tsunami caused life loss due to severe flooding, erosion and structural damage.

In the deep sea, the newly generated waves can travel at speeds above 500 mph, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. “The deeper the water, the faster they move,” says Noah.

The waves move fast, but are not usually very high, usually about 3 feet.

Waves change when they enter shallow water near the land, says Noah:

The distance between waves called wave waves is shorter.

Waves waves reduce velocity to 20-30 mph.

The height of the wave usually increases to about 10 feet, but a height of 100 feet is recorded.

How is a tsunami different from a normal wave?

Normal waves It is caused by the wind. Strong, long-lasting wind creates large waves that vary from 3 to 11 feet in height. Compared to tsunamis, they move relatively slowly, their wavelengths are shorter and measured on the feet. They arrive at the coast every few seconds.

tsunami It is created by seabed turmoil and travels much faster than normal waves. Their wavelengths can be measured in miles and reach the coast minutes or hours away. Wave heights range from 10 feet or more, and in extreme cases reach 100 feet.

The damage caused by the tsunami depends on where they land. Tsunamis can travel quite a distance inland depending on the topography and wave intensity.

“The coral reefs, bays, entrances to rivers, seabed features and beach slopes can all affect the size, appearance and impact of the tsunami when hitting the coast,” NOAA says.

Tsunamis can also be caused by above or below the sea level, or by metstones.

What was the worst tsunami and earthquake in history?

The most deadly tsunami in history was caused by a 9.1 magnitude earthquake that struck Indonesia in the Indian Ocean on December 26, 2004. Approximately 230,000 people have been killed and 1.7 million others have been expelled. The economic loss was estimated at around $17 billion.

The most expensive tsunami in history took place on March 11, 2011 off the east coast of Japan. The largest 9.1 magnitude earthquake ever recorded in Japan caused around 18,000 deaths and about $318 billion in damages.

One of the strongest in history, the tremor of 8.8 magnitude on July 29, compares it with historical records.

Why do we call them tsunamis?

Tsunami comes from the Japanese word “tsu” of the port and the wave “nami.” The term “tide wave” was once used to describe tsunamis, but it differs from tidal waves caused by marine tides.

Can I surf in the tsunami?

The short answer is no. Tsunami waves are different from the usual waves used by surfers, says the University of Hawaii.

Tsunami waves do not have a face (concave part of the waves), so you don’t have anything to grip the surfboard.

◾The waves are filled with drizzled garbage.

◾The tsunami waves are approaching, like a white water wall.

Donald Trump updates calls to punish broadcasters and protesters

0

President Donald Trump discussed the investigation of protesters and the possibility of withholding broadcast licenses from critics returning from overseas visits.

play

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump said the protesters who cried out at a dinner in Washington, D.C., were a “threat” that could lead to jail, and declared the anti-fascist anti-fasting movement as a terrorist organization seeking to track funds despite the group’s spread membership.

Trump also questioned the renewal of the TV station’s broadcast license, where the hosts ridiculed him on their comedy shows.

Trump’s new attack on critics on September 18 came when he returned home from a national visit to Britain. His comments highlighted a more radical style after deploying federal law enforcement and National Guard troops in Los Angeles and Memphis, Tennessee. Here’s what you need to know about Trump’s spurring investigation:

Trump calls protesters for “really destructive” at his DC dinner

Protesters yelled at Trump when they arrived September 9 for dinner at Joe’s seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab, just a few blocks from the White House. He aimed to show how DC became safe after controlling the metropolitan police station and sending out National Guard troops.

However, four women cried out to him with phrases such as “Free Palestine.” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said protesters could face criminal investigations.

On September 15, Trump said he should be “put to prison” for assault as a “professional agitator” because “what they’re doing in this country is really destructive.”

Asked if they really think protesters should be jailed on September 18th, Trump said people should see how they act and how they behave.

“I certainly thought it was very inappropriate,” Trump said. “Yeah, I think they were a threat.”

Former vice president Kamala Harris, who lost to Trump in the 2024 election, called attacks on critics, including broadcasters, which are “a frontal attack on free speech.”

“What we’re witnessing is the complete abuse of power,” Harris said on social media on September 18th.

Trump designates antifa as a “terrorist organization”

Trump said on September 17th on social media that he designated the anti-fascist anti-fascist movement as a “terrorist organization” that “intensively investigates” it.

However, it was not clear what legal weight the declaration had, as Antifa is a loosely organized ideological movement without a clear leadership structure or hierarchy, experts said.

When asked how he would target them, Trump told reporters:

Trump previously told Fox News’ Story with Martha McCallum that investigators would learn how the movement was funded.

Trump: Broadcasters are not allowed to criticize him mercilessly

Trump congratulated ABC on social media for pausing host Jimmy Kimmel. CBS previously announced the end of host Stephen Colbert’s show in 2026, with Trump urging NBC to remove hosts Jimmy Fallon and Seth Myers.

Kimmel’s suspension said Brendan Kerr, head of the Federal Communications Commission, should take action against the hosts for his commentary on the murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The FCC may revoke broadcast licenses granted to network stations. Trump told reporters that the FCC should consider what will be broadcast when considering licensing.

“When you have a network and have an evening show, all they do is hit cards, that’s all they do,” Trump said. “They are licensed. They are not allowed to do that.”

Illinois Gov. JB Pretzker told MSNBC’s “Briefing with Jen Psaki” that the move reflects Trump’s attempts to intimidate his critics.

“It’s obviously a threat,” Pretzker said. “They use the power of government to chase businesses.”

NFL Week 3 ‘TNF’ Update, Highlights

The Miami Dolphins will travel to face AFC East Rival Buffalo Bill at Primetime to kick off the third week of the NFL season in “Thursday Night Football.”

These franchises are heading in the opposite direction as the bill is ready to become a Super Bowl candidate.

The shark is beginning to circle the dolphin. Miami’s defensive issue is under the microscope, modestly and modestly against tonight’s MVP Joshu Allen, after allowing 33 points in consecutive weeks to open the season.

The Bills quarterback has totaled 45 touchdowns against Miami in 15 meetings.

Buffalo was stamped 2-0 from the gate after defeating the low Jets last Sunday and completing an incredible comeback to beat the Baltimore Ravens in week one.

Dolphin coach Mike McDaniel is one of the names surrounded by hot sheets earlier this season, and things get hotter if Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill can’t replicate the dynamic offenses they own in McDaniel’s first two years of tea.m.

“Thursday Night Football” tends to produce quirky results, and that’s exactly what Miami wants. Dolphins have not won Buffalo since 2016 and hope that the short week will benefit them, but Buffalo hopes to contribute to Miami’s end mise in early 2025.

USA Today Sports will be offering live updates, highlights and more from the following third week Bills-Dolphins “Tosday Night Football” games:

You thought Buffalo had another touchdown, right? Yes, we are amazed too. Following the first negative play of the game, Plater misses a 39-yard field goal on the left. Very wide left. Like, it never held up the opportunity.

The real Miami Dolphins have joined the program. It had three more for McDaniel’s crew, which had even fewer action than the last crew. The bill will take over at 27, looking for a 73-yard touchdown drive and adding it to the previous two.

With the exception of one imperfection, the bill earned at least one yard on every play. It certainly isn’t a recipe for successful Miami, and Buffalo makes it look easy. Rookie Jackson Haws took part in the action and scored his first career touchdown to close out his 63-yard drive.

Bill 14, Dolphins 7

As many have predicted, the game didn’t finish after the first quarter, but after the first 15 minutes the bill still doesn’t give you a reason to sweat. They’re driving for the lead, and Miami’s defense has yet to force negative plays. If McDaniel’s team can’t turn it around quickly, it’ll be hard to steal a victory.

Bill 7, Dolphins 7

Miami looked like another team on the second drive and couldn’t go any further. They pick up just 7 yards from Tagovailoa, including two on the ground. Many fans may have held their breath with a pigeon forward to pick up a few yards. After the punt, the bill will be handed over at his own 36.

As expected, the dolphin defense on the Bills’ opening drive looked like a traffic cone. Buffalo takes just seven plays to drive 70 yards on the score as Kincaid brings things together with a 20-yard touchdown.

Bill 7, Dolphins 7

Dolphins may have scored on the opening drive, but they appeared to benefit from a missed call on the third down. Tua Tagovailoa found Tyreek Hill for a first down reception, but the receiver aged the ball. After checking out the replay, it appears that Hill was only 1 foot in range. The bill was uncontested and ultimately costly.

Well, how about that? No one gives the Dolphins a chance in this game, and the Dolphins score on a six-minute drive that advances 47 yards before Gordon enters the end zone. Buffalo’s defense looked like what we expected from Miami on that opening drive. It’s not too tattered for Mike McDaniel and the company early on.

Bill vs Dolphin Prediction

This is a prime example of two franchises heading in opposite directions. Buffalo looks like a crop cream, a legitimate Super Bowl candidate, and Miami looks like a runaway train. Dolphins’ offensive lines may be bad, but their defenses are corrupt. The unit will allow 33 points in consecutive weeks, and Buffalo may double that.

The bill has run several impressive winning streaks: five straight AFC East titles, not losing to a 24-game sales battle, they won the final eight home matchups against Miami. Those stripes continue tonight.

Buffalo will erase Miami.

Josh Allen has tweaked his helmet to give his face a bit of extra protection after two weeks of injury.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback added a visor to his helmet before the team’s practice session on Tuesday. The change comes after Allen was injured in his nose in a second week clash with the New York Jets, and the left hand of defensive tackle Michael Clemons rocked him in his face as Allen took the bag.

“Grey’s Anatomy” actor and celebrity photographer Brad Everett Young passed away on Monday, September 15th due to injuries sustained in a traffic accident in Los Angeles. He was 46 years old.

The collision occurred late Sunday, September 14th on the 134 expressway. The “Boy Meet the World” alumni’s car was hit by another driving in the wrong direction, Young spokesperson Paul Christensen confirmed to USA Today on Thursday, September 18th.

As an actor, Young played television roles in “Charmed”, “Numb3rs” and “Felicity.” He also appeared in several films, including the 2000s “Charlie’s Angels” and 1997’s “Jurassic Park II.”

In recent years, Virginia natives have shifted his focus to celebrity photography. His work has been featured at Vanity Fair, People, Vogue and other outlets. Photographing the star from David Harbor to Salamichel Geller, Young was the familiar face showing off the Hollywood Premier, glass and awards red carpet.

During his last few years he took up activism and became the founder of the grassroots project Dream Loud Official. Through the initiative, he aimed to inspire US students, teachers and artists, his spokesperson said.

“Brad’s passion for both the art and the people behind it was unparalleled,” Christensen said in a statement. “He lives his mission to keep creativity alive, and his legacy continues with a loud dream voice.”

Abilene, Texas restaurant has stopped offering something special about military appreciation, but is looking for alternative ideas.

Abilene has air base dyes.

Chick-Fil-A restaurant operator Brian Lacroix said the fast food chain would no longer offer military appreciation special.

Two all-nighters will be held at Colorado State University on Thursday, September 18th and Thursday, September 18th.

The CSU Student Chapter of Political Review will hold an event entitled “For FreeSpeech. Against Political Violence” from 6:30pm to 8:30pm local time, CSU spokesman Teana Kennedy pointed out in a news release, and Turning Point USA, a nonprofit co-founded by Kirk, will hold a local noction vigilance from 5:30pm to 60pm.

CSU was scheduled to be the second stop on Turning Point USA’s “American Comeback Tour.”

Kirk, 31, was killed while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City. The suspect, who authorities publicly identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was taken into custody on September 11, more than 24 hours after Kirk’s murder.

What time is Charlie Kirk in Colorado’s vigil?

Colorado State University in Fort Collins will serve as Kirk’s two-night stay-up venue on Thursday, September 18th.

  • 5:30pm to 6:30pm (MDT): The CSU branch of Turning Point USA will hold a meeting in Kirk’s memory at Canvas Stadium.
  • 6:30pm to 8:30pm (MDT): The CSU Student Chapter of Political Review will host an event entitled “For FreeSheept. For FreeSheeet. The Political Violence” at the university’s Rory Student Center Ballroom. The event is organized by the National Ground Game, a political action committee formed in response to the 2024 election.

The political review event, previously scheduled to start at 4pm, was moved to maximize attendance at both events, Patrick McCabe, co-president of the chapter, told Colorado.

Check out Charlie Kirk’s Vigill at Colorado State University

USA Today will air an all-night live stream on its YouTube channel, which is scheduled to begin on Thursday, September 18th at 5:30pm MDT.

CSU will stay up all night under Gameday Security

CSU said in a news release that both planned “external host” events on campus will operate under CSU’s Game Day security requirements. The university added that carrying firearms, whether openly hidden or not, is illegal on Colorado university campuses.

“CSU only offers safe facilities and does not organize activities within the venue,” Kennedy wrote. “As a public body, CSU is legally necessary to maintain and protect the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, including providing spaces to express diverse perspectives, even when these perspectives challenge or create strong responses with the community.”

Multiple vigils were planned for September 18th at Fort Collins, including another CSU Flower Trial Garden and City Park, according to the Colorado Tribe. However, organizers of those events called them off and urged those who were planning to attend instead to go on a Turning Point USA all night.

Hyundai, which launches 10 new EVs and hybrid models, will be offering a hybrid model to offset tariffs

play

Hyundai Motor 005380.KS said Thursday that the South Korean automaker aims to produce more than 80% of the vehicles it sells in the US by 2030, in response to US tariff policies, in order to increase capacity at its Georgia factory.

The automaker said in a statement that its operating profit margin for 2025 was trimmed with the target of 6-7% from the previously announced 7-8%, citing the impact of US tariffs. The company said it expects its profit margin to 7-8% by 2027 and to 8-9% by 2030.

Along with affiliate KIA Corp 000270, Hyundai Motor, the world’s third largest automaker, said its Georgia factory will reach 500,000 units per year by 2028, with a mix of hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs).

Hyundai Motor co-CEO Jose Munoz spoke on Thursday with Investors Investors Day, saying that the US and South Korea hope to find a solution to the short-term business trips of professional workers after the Korean workers were detained during the attack at a battery factory in Georgia.

Munoz said many of the detained workers were helping to calibrate and test advanced battery production technologies at plants supporting Hyundai’s US operations.

Hyundai said the biggest market this year was produced in the US, with 40% of vehicles sold in the US generating around 40% of revenue.

“Hyundai’s plan to build 80% of vehicles sold in the US could help mitigate the impact of US tariffs under Trump, but there is uncertainty as to whether these tariffs will remain after he controls.

Singh said Hyundai needs to justify why maintaining US production at that level remains meaningless in the long run, even if tariffs are removed, such as showing that deploying humanoid robots after a Georgia factory breaks down.

The automaker also plans to expand its global hybrid lineup to more than 18 models by the end of the decade, from the 14 planned models announced last year, with the launch of its extended range electric vehicle (EREV) in 2027 and the first medium-sized pickup truck in North America before 2030.

The company says the Georgia plant will have a mix of 10 hybrid and EV models.

Munoz added that the company’s revised financial guidance is based on the current 25% US tariff rate, and that its plan to locally produce 80% of vehicles sold in the US is to reduce tariff exposure and enhance growth, but that it will not sacrifice Korean production.

“We need to grow in the US and produce what we sell in the US, but South Korea shouldn’t be worried,” Munoz said.

He added, “We all hope that both governments can reach agreements sooner than later,” and will create opportunities this year and support the Hyundai program next year.

On July 30, US President Donald Trump said in return for the Seoul investment in which the US invests $350 billion in the United States, he would lower tariffs of 15% on imports from South Korea from 25%, cutting his auto import duties from the current 25% to 15%.

Washington implemented a lower 15% tariff rate on automobile and auto parts imports from Japan this week, while South Korea still faces a 25% tariff rate for cars.

Seoul and Washington are struggling to overcome obstacles to completing the trade agreement agreed in July, and the $350 billion investment fund has yet to be resolved.

In July, Hyundai Motor said US tariffs would cost the company 828 billion wins ($606.37 million) in the second quarter, with a greater impact in the July-September period.

Magnitude 7.8 earthquake hits Russia, prompting tsunami consultation

0

For the first time in two months, residents and emergency operators around the US Pacific Territories were on alert about a potential tsunami after the Russian earthquake.

A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Russia’s east coast, prompting close surveillance on Alaska, Hawaii and the US west coast. However, tsunami waves were not detected along the remote island chain, and tsunami recommendations were cancelled.

The National Tsunami Warning Centre has issued an advisory, the second highest level of tsunami warning for the Western Aleutian Islands between Amchitkapas and Atu. Residents and those interested in the vicinity of the water were advised to “stay away from the beaches and waterways and away from the water.”

In Hawaii, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Honolulu issued a warning that it was “too early” to determine whether there was a threat to the nation. The center advised that “if there was a tsunami threat to Hawaii, the earliest thing that would start would be HST at 2:51pm.”

Tsunami Watch

Everything was published in Hawaii too. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has determined that “there is no threat to Hawaii due to the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Russia.”

“There is no risk of a destructive tsunami along the US west or Canadian coastline,” the National Weather Service said.

The Tsunami Center said it was recorded as “no destructive tsunamis,” and tsunami observations were not available to report from Alaska. But officials there advised people along the coast to avoid repeated dangers until local emergency staff said it was safe to do so.

Apple Crisp fans were calling on Starbucks to get it back

The popular Fall Favorite fans took to social media to express their need for Apple Crisp before news came to light that it has returned.
